Innovative food and drink. Dedicated to making downtown work. Great staff. A little noisy but food comprnsates

I love the feel of this restaurant, however, it just never quite hits the mark (third time here). The server had a hard time refilling our coffee and drinks and then stated that the salmon "was really fresh", and that it came in 2 days ago from somewhere off the coast of Europe?? Also, eggs on benedict were overcooked and very little hollandaise. Some hits, some misses. The beet salad was great, cinnamon app good, salmon entree pretty good (a little fishy and needed salt). However, I have still not been able to go for dinner. Will keep trying. read more

I love coming here for the sunday brunch. GREAT atmosphere for sundays. They have good food and good people. Service is Solid and the staff is nice. Its actually a god date spot too. Try the shrimp, wont fail to impress. read more

The West Table is my favorite dining location in Lubbock. I had the quail appetizer along with the Duck for the main course. It was beyond great. The chef is great. read more

Really great restaurant. The shrimp and grits were fantastic. The shrimp were cooked to perfection. The blue berry bread pudding was moist but not soggy; and covered with a wonderful caramel sauce. Not too sweet but definitely worth eating the entire thing. read more

Excellent entrees and appetizers. I felt as though the findings could be nicer but it makes up for it in quality of food. The price is worth it. read more

Hands down the best meal we've had in Lubbock and is going in the book as one of our top 5 all time dining experiences! Amazing and attentive staff, carefully curated cocktails (try the Smoke and Mirrors...trust me) and fantastic food. I had the braised beef short ribs and it was so good I dreamt about it afterwards. Perfect spot for a date night or special celebration. Can't wait to visit again! read more

I coordinated a corporate dinner at the West Table recently on a business trip to Lubbock. We used their "coffee shop" as a private dining area and it worked out great. We asked for a "set" menu with a fish/beef duet and sides and the chef did a superb job of putting a very nice menu together. The butterfish was delicately cooked, the filet was outstanding and the sides were perfect. Beautiful presentation, a lovely personalized/printed menu and yummy seasonal cocktails were offered. Wine selection was great too. The chef even customized meals for a few gluten sensitive and vegetarian folks. Mike, the manager, and the wait staff were gracious and super friendly. Received a lot of good comments from the group. We'll come back! read more

I've had dinner here 4 times and decided it was time to write a review. Consistently good service. The bartenders (albeit in a very small bar area) are the best in Lubbock. Amazing drinks, crafted well. The food has always been excellent. (tonight's posole, that I had as an appetizer soup was out of this world. Easily the best I've ever had in my life. You would not expect that from a place that is not a Mexican food restaurant ) What really prompted me to complete a review tonight was, strangely enough, an undercooked steak. I always order a steak a little under what I typically enjoy, because you can always cook it more, you can't cook it less. Tonight I ordered the strip steak medium rare, it came out easily rare if not a little less than rare. I don't often, if ever, send food back. I asked them to please take it back and cook it a little bit more. They were so accommodating, and had no problem doing so. When they brought it back it was with a complete reset of the sides, which I did not ask for it all. I just have to say that everybody there is so happy to take care of you and make sure you have a great dining experience. Especially Adam Lunsford and of course the chef, for whom the restaurant is named after. four times, four excellent experiences. Make sure you get there early before your reservation so you can have a drink at the bar because those bartenders make amazing drinks.b and, last thing, the chicken fried elk is amazing read more

We had dinner here and it was amazing! The food and drinks were absolute perfection. I do recommend getting a reservation. We went on a Thursday night and it was packed. You will not be disappointed. read more

Courteous, attentive service, phenomenal food, great atmosphere, fantastic live music.

The waitress and the kitchen did an excellent job to make our birthday party even better

Beef Spare Ribs and Beet Salad were fantastic!! Our waitor, Leah, was as well!

Wonderful meal. Started with their amazing bone marrow (a must if you have never tried it) and went on to their pork chop. Was too full for dessert but will save room next time. Great wine selection and the food couldn't have been better. Can't wait to go back! read more

Our group had a dinner reservation and was seated promptly. Our waitress reviewed the menu then allowed us to take our time. We were a talkative group and our server accommodated our conversation, rather than interjecting. The food was brought out to our pacing, rather than rushing us through each course. The smoked oysters in the Caesar salad had a different, yet enjoyable flavor. The Pho was presented beautifully and while very salty, was certainly better than pho I've had other places in Lubbock. This was my second trip to WT, and any issues with service that you read in early reviews should be discarded. read more

Great night at West Table. Love the food and the atmosphere. If you are looking for a restaurant that has a great changing menu and consistently good, this is the place. Lubbock has been in need of another upscale restaurant. We like to sit at the kitchen bar sometimes to see the Masters at work. read more

Very bad service, food was medium. Orders were wrong and owners wife was very rude. Orders came out separately so we could not eat together b read more

It was a great place to be. The Food was good, my wife thought the elk was great and I had a steak that was very well cooked is rather conservatively flavored which all in all isn't a bad thing. The side dish were artfully created and add much to their entrees Drinks were perfect and the wine list was comprehensive enough if not stellar. My only complaints are with reservation and the hostesses instructions. I am all for a restaurant only seating customers with reservation. It keeps noise down and lets you know what your getting into. My complaint here is that their reservation system, through Yelp, has a flaw on someones side. I booked a reservation at 7:00pm on yelp and got a conformation email that agreed that my time was 7:00pm. The day of the reservation I got and email in the morning confirming 7:00pm. and then some time later in the day I got a text from yelp that said 7:30pm I didn't read this text as it said in my preview screen "Reminder The West Table rev" and I figured I new what the rest said. Really this was just a minor inconvenience. Next, the hostess has a large even cavernous room to work with. So of course with 60% of the restaurant open on a Wednesday night she sit three Couple down right next to each other. Not to be a recluse but if I had wanted a triple date with two four strangers I bet there is a website for that. One couple could have been set at least one more table down and still have the same size table not messing with any later reservations. especially true when two of those butting up table are trying to celebrate wedding anniversaries. read more

Enjoyed a meal in April; pork, quail, oysters, and steak. Comparable or better to any meal in Carmel or Dallas recently.

Very trendy atmosphere - wonderful food! I hadn't been to Lubbock in awhile and was pleasantly surprised to find this restaurant!

I regard West Table as the second-best restaurant in Lubbock right now behind La Sirena. The atmosphere is contemporary and urban--concrete and steel. It has an imaginative menu that adds new options somewhat often, although it does not change as much as you might expect from a top-flight restaurant, nor do they have any specials. The beet salad is a mainstay and is very good. So is the NOLA shrimp & grits. The list of wine & cocktails is above average. Lunch is a way, way better deal than dinner--about 1/2 to 1/3 of the price for several of the same dishes. Brunch is fine but not exceptional. However, the best deal of all is the Sunday night prix fixe dinner--four courses for $25, very few of which are typically on the regular menu. The service is usually very good, although occasionally lackadaisical. For Lubbock, West Table is very good. read more

Best restaurant in Lubbock, hands down! Loved my server and the food was excellent. Had the Hot Chicken sandwich for lunch and it was so good. Can't wait to try out this spot for their dinner menu! read more

Very yummy food! We went for the chefs menu of Sunday night, and the options were great!

Excellent food and service, as good as we have had anywhere. Highly recommend this for a great dining experience.

Wine list is inconsistant -- can't get a second bottle of the same wine. Wish they would have had Shrimp with Grits. Service was wonderful and the food was good! Close to a five star! read more

We went here as a birthday celebration. There were 6 of my family members there. The service was excellent, the ambiance was great( very contemporary and minimalist) and the food was simply delicious. We had a variety of appetizers, wines, cocktails and entrees. Love this restaurant! A real gem in Lubbock and has the BEST elk chicken fried steak. Great quail appetizer and lovely wine selection! Will definitely go again as I have a son who is a student at Texas Tech. read more

Refreshing new spot in Downtown Lubbock! Great menu and had a hard time deciding..........ended up with a Caesar Salad to start and the Short Ribs.......... excellent! Nice space in an reclaimed historic old hotel, great staff and very reasonable prices! We will be back! read more

Without a doubt this will be a huge success in Lubbock. Great food at a great price. Our service was excellent and I will highly recommend this to friends and family. read more

In the 70's, there was a restaurant atop the Great Plains Life Bldg called Venti 20 - the food was amazing and the sunsets memorable. West Table marks the return of amazing dining to downtown Lubbock. The dining offerings are excellent and the wine selection is top notch. We were treated to a memorable experience and will look forward to a repeat performance. Worth the drive to downtown! read more

Came here for brunch today. Food was excellent. Service left something to be desired. Watch out! Drink prices aren't listed on the menu and drinks are overpriced! $8 for tomato juice + $5 for vodka = $13 for a grade B bloody! Single mimosas are $8. If you are looking for an "Austin-y" brunch experience go elsewhere! read more

Great food, nice waiter, but staff is unfamiliar with the menu/ wine list. Management needs to spend five minutes a day educating staff about their menu. Foie gras was excellent as was the pork chop. Bit noisy. Would recommend and hope they are successful. read more

Great new restaurant with a changing menu. Wonderful service and fabulous food. If you haven't tried it you are missing out.

Best seat in the house was sitting at the bar overlooking the kitchen. Nice change of pace for Lubbock.

The restaurant is beautiful in its austere decor. The linens and tableware are lovely. The staff was very friendly - a smidge too casual for this price point, but certainly in keeping with the vibe. Love the demonstration kitchen. Loved that I was easily able to meet and speak with the chef/owner following the meal. Good cocktail menu, small selection of wines by the glass. Small and eclectic menu. Salads were delicious and prepared precisely as ordered. Entrees were nicely presented and food was good...not off the charts amazing, but good albeit a little pricey for the portion sizes. Desserts were okay...again, no real wow factor, but certainly acceptable. The beauty of the experience was that it was unlike one you can find elsewhere in Lubbock and it aspires to be something so much more...given time and experience, I think this could be the "it" place to dine. Kudos to the Wests for their bold adventure! Would certainly recommend! read more

Excellent! Food, service, atmosphere, and people dress up to look nice!!! We had a great experience and will be going back!!! Very reasonable and the food presentation....amazing!!! Thanks "The West Table" read more

We had a very enjoyable experience for our first visit to The West Table. I love the open kitchen concept. The service was excellent, but I have one suggestion for the wait staff. Instead of referring to the customers as "you guys", how about "you folks" or sir and mam. The food was delicious and the plating was appealing. My compliments to the owners and staff for bringing a refreshing new dining experience to Lubbock, TX. read more

Incredible food, incredible atmosphere. I had the fillet and my husband had the chicken fried elk. Both were cooked perfectly and had amazing flavor. The sweet and spicy chicken wings for an appetizer were out of this world! Can't wait to go back! read more

This was our first visit and was based on ratings of others through yelp. Fabulous! Awesome! Great ambience, the staff greeted us as we walked in and were very accommodating through the our time. The food was excellent. We are from this area but live east of Dallas now. This trip was for our 33rd anniversary and this was a great venue to start the evening before going back in time with The Maines Brothers concert afterwards. Reservations should be made but do take the chNce. You will not be disappointed!!! read more

Excellent food and drink, but, pricey. The wedge salad was excellent and the steak was excellent as well. Great service.
