We went probably 6 times in the span of a year. The food is good, and some items are really great. They never rotated the menu so we were quickly bored with it (as it is fairly limited). They also tend to be a little stingy with the bottomless mimosas, you were lucky to get 3. We felt that they gave preferential treatment to older diners when seating and serving, and sometimes it was very noticeable. It may have just been that they were treating their regulars better, which I understand. Would definitely recommend. I had a pork porterhouse and my husband had the short ribs. Both were excellent. The short ribs came with lemon flavored mashed potatoes which were amazing. The menu changes so there is no guarantee that those items will be on there again but I think you would be safe ordering anything and you would be pleased. read more

We had been wanting to dine at West Table since it opened & finally got the chance to have dinner with dear friends this past week. The menu is definitely unique for Lubbock, but not for foodies who enjoy delicacies like Fois Gras or bone marrow. Our reservation was at 5:45 pm, we were promptly seated & greeted by our waiter, Chestnut (who was quite a delightful character). However, quickly things went south. It took the bus staff 25 min. to bring us water. We ordered our cocktails and appetizers at the same time. One of us got their appetizer first, 15 min later the remainder of us got our appetizers, and one was incorrect. Then came our cocktails. Chestnut corrected the mistake and we finished our first course. By this time, the restaurant was starting to fill up. We then ordered our entrees and a bottle of wine. The pork chop was delicious as were the short ribs. However, the two that ordered the pork chop could not understand why such a finely grilled and seasoned piece of meat was accompanied by Southwest Slaw that tasted strongly of curry. I ordered the short ribs, which were delicious, but the sweet potato mash was cold, as was another member's at our table who ordered the same plate. In between all of this, we only got water refills once. The desserts were decent, not great. Don't order the pineapple crumble, it consisted of warmed canned pineapple with a granola oat mix. When we finished our meal, Chestnut came to the table to apologize for the discrepancies in service, not once did he assign blame to anyone other than himself (which is why we tipped him well). However, we are patrons of fine restaurants and understand that he was not alone. The bus staff should be walking around filling water glasses & removing empty dishes. The kitchen crew should be synchronized , ensuring each course is presented to everyone at the table at the same time. We saw a group of wait & bus staff standing around in the back of restaurant while water glasses remained empty. The price tag for our meal was not surprising for four people who each ordered appetizers, cocktails, entrees, shared two desserts, and a bottle of wine. We split our tab only to find out the next day when we looked at our bank account that we were not only charged for our half of the meal, but we also were charged a second time for the entire meal. The food overall was average, as was its presentation, and the service was substandard. The wait & bus staff, hostess (wearing a sweater with skulls), and bartenders are not trained for what West Table aspires to be. It truly has great potential and we're willing to give it second chance, but it needs to retrain or reconstitute its staff if it wants to survive. read more

I have eaten their Sunday brunch twice now and each time it gets better. I went for the first time on my 21st birthday and my brunch was free and my waiter was phenomenal. My mimosa was never empty and the food was amazing. I went to brunch this past Sunday and the brunch was amazing. The fruit was so fresh and the French toast was to die for. And MIMOSA CARAFES ARE $6 !!!! AMAZING !!! The brunch is the best thing thats ever happened to me and I would recommend to anyone who loves brunch, amazing service and amazing food. We met some friends for dinner at The West Table last night and had a truly phenomenal evening! From beginning to end, the dining experience was superb. Fresh made bread, foie gras, beet salad with goat cheese, lamb chops . . . each a culinary masterpiece! The table ordered and shared all of the desserts and they were all delectable (the bread pudding and the pumpkin tart were my favorite). The service was friendly and efficient and the atmosphere fun. We live in Lubbock part-time and are foodies. We have been to many restaurants here in Lubbock and decided to give West End table a try because he heard so many wonderful reviews. The ambiance is nice--nothing fancy but very comfortable. Our waitress was very attentive and pleasant. We ordered drinks---my husband had a whiskey drink which he loved, I ordered a vodka martini which I do at every restaurant just to compare. It was fair, not very cold but tasted good. We then ordered the tempura cauliflower as an appetizer and it was off the charts delicious. Very unusual, not greasy, full of flavor. We are vegetarians and looked at the menu. No vegetarian entrees. We asked if the chef could make us a veggie plate. The waitress said she would ask. She came back and said the chef could make a stir fry. We asked if we could just have several of the veggie sides on a plate. She said she would ask. The waitress came back and said the chef could put together some great veggies and add a side of rice. We said terrific---she later returned with a tasteless veggie stir fry served on white rice. Very bland--no flavor. I said to my husband, I thought we said no stir fry, but that's what we got. So disappointing. So just FYI: if you are a vegetarian do NOT eat here. The people around us who had meat dinners seemed very happy. I do know not all restaurants are not everything to everyone. It would have been really nice if we had been told not to order a vegetarian entree. We could have ordered a salad and some appetizers and been very happy. Instead, we paid $18 per veggie entree for a tasteless, boring bunch of veggies served on a bed of rice that would could have ordered at another restaurant for $8. We won't return to West End table but if you like meat, you should be good to go! read more

This place has a great atmosphere, the food is delicious, and the service is on-point. My husband and I went for our date night. We made reservations the day of and wehad to wait until later in the evening because reservations were nearly full (so make reservations early). We arrived and were immediately impressed with the ambiance. A mix of industrial and modern and the place was lively! It was pretty loud in the actual restaurant, but there is a nice lobby out front. We didn't have to wait for our table to be ready and were greeted promptly. We started by ordering the crispy goat cheese croquettes and the ahi tuna tacos. Both were absolutely delicious! Although a glorified cheese ball, the croquettes were the best damn cheese balls I ever tasted. The ahi tuna was perfect and had a pickled garlic relish that just set off the whole dish. As an entree, I ordered the ribeye with warm potato salad and my husband ordered the veal porterhouse with lobster mac-n-cheese. The steaks were perfectly cooked and the side items were a well thought out compliment. The warm potato salad was different than I expected with arugula and fried potatoes in a sour cream and bacon dressing. The lobster mac was the best I have ever had... Lots of lobster, lots of cheese, and a perfect crumble topping. The portions are large and we both had leftovers. As a dessert we ordered the carrot cake and the chocolate mousse cake with some coffee. They were out of the mousse, but the carrot cake was a perfect portion and paired well with the coffee and cream. Overall, we had a delightful experience and felt the food was superb. We had heard the place was expensive, but felt the ticket cost was very reasonable for the quality and portion of the dishes. The service was also something to be noted... Very attentive staff, but not overly attentive and the manager came by to ask how things were going. It was obvious that the staff was attentive to the guests and everyone was enjoying themselves. This is probably the biggest disappointment in fine dining that I have had in a long time. My very expensive steak was cooked medium rare instead of medium well. The menu said it would come with Parmesan crusted potatoes. They were FRENCH Fries loaded with garlic...I don't like either! No bread since they took up out bread plates when we sat down. So I asked for some...they brought out six tiny pieces of French bread grilled-three were burnt. It was very noisy, no tablecloths, and the service was mediocre. What a nightmare!!!! DO NOT EAT AT WEST TABLE!! We made reservations months ago for a party of 17 for family and friends to meet together for a football weekend! We ranged in age from my 80 year old mother to my 14 year old nephew. We all represented 3 states. We waited on our reserved table for 45 minutes while the table finished their cocktails ( they were then asked to move into the bar). We finally sat down. Within 30 min we were told that they would no longer serve us alcohol until we ate. Are you kidding me! They could not have been more off! There was nobody at our table that was out of hand. My husbands bill that include 7 of us was padded with several things that we did not order. At the end of this nightmare our total bill between the 17 of us was around 1500$. Our waitress couldn't have been any ruder!! We should have all walked out then! Our food was so terrible (cold and dry) I'm really sad about the evening as it was a reunion for all of us to get together and we had a huge damper put on it due to a very mismanaged restaurant. Bar area was inadequate, space was limited, bartenders were pouring drinks in the midst of dirty glasses. Our server was very nice but mentioned that it was her first night and that she had been at Buffalo Wild Wings for the last couple of years. We did not feel that she had been trained to work in an upscale restaurant. That being said, the food over came all of the above mentioned obstacles.
