I went in this figuring I wasn't going to be happy. I've been to a lot of the "this place is the best" restaurants and have been disappointed. NOT this place. Everything was great, EXCELLENT. Most places like a lot of decor but not really this place. It lets the building be enough and it works great. The food was amazing, the way great restaurants should be. Had the bao buns, fry bread, the beef belly, antelope, schnitzel, bread pudding, chocolate sorbet. Everything was great.

What a beautiful gem in Lubbock! Bartender was amazing, service was spot on. Everyone was very knowledgeable and welcoming. The food was as delicious as it looks. Might be the best Ribeye we've ever eaten.

All courses were delicious! The tomato in the salad is the best I've ever tasted. Waitresses were perfection! Beautiful entryway and outdoor seating.

I was blown into a fairy tale passing through Lubbock for the night. From the absolutely beautiful atmosphere to top notch service and incredible food.... I will go out on a limb to say this is my favorite restaurant in Texas. Atmosphere: We arrived early for our reservation in the Greenhouse. While waiting we decided to have a seat at the bar. The main restaurant is very open and updated with touches of history peaking through. The main show, for me, is the Greenhouse. Beautiful and romantic this is the perfect spot to take your loved one. With only a few tables, white lights and the moon showing through the glass ceiling it does not disappoint. Tinder dates beware. I think I would fall in love if taken here Food: sitting at the bar having a fantastic Paloma the bartender suggested the fry bread. Please. Get. The. Fry. Bread for the love. Delicious! Dinner we ordered the crab starter. Great for sharing and yummy. I had the Agnolottis.... And will forever dream about it. And my Mr. ordered the Pozole and said it did not disappoint. Service: the bartender and waiter were top notch! This was 5 star service. The bartender took the extra time to give suggestions for an upcoming trip to port A. The waiter was very attentive and super nice. Tip: Again, fry bread

Found Nicolett's for our 28th anniversary....what a wonderful find! We are from Houston, but have children in Lubbock and are in the area regularly. This time happened to coincide with our anniversary, and when another reservation fell through we were able to get into Nicolett's, and we couldn't have been happier! Our waitress was wonderful, just perfect in outlining the courses/recommendations/etc. We had appetizers, full courses, the works. Everything we had was wonderful! Not a bad course one, and one had me overwhelmed with call backs to my grandmothers French cooking....wow. My wife even took notes for next time! Compliments to the chef/owner (whom we met), the staff, and the kitchen....and thank you for making our anniversary memorable! We will be back for a Fall birthday....can't wait!

    One of our amazing desserts!

This isn't to say this is the worst food in existence, but for the price point I can't recommend this place. Let me start by saying this restaurant seems to have a massive variation in the quality of its dishes. I imagine the positive reviews probably ordered some sort of specialty signature dishes as what I got was just reprehensible. Do not order the tomato soup and grilled cheese, don't even consider it. For $9 I got a small cup of soup and HALF of a sandwich, must of been pretty good for the price right?.... I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that when I accidentally burn grilled cheeses at home, they are still better in every category than what I received here. Zero flavor. The tomato soup looked really good, but also had such little flavor that dunking the grilled cheese in it actually made the grilled cheese worse. This meal would've been a tough sell if my 5 year old cousin made it for me when I was sick. My friend also gave their green beans cause they didn't want it... and I can see why, it was also horrifically bland. Also nabbed a few tater tots from the chicken steak and they were super breaded, not bad but not impressive. The "shining" star of the experience was the mulita I got as an appetizer, quite good, like a 3/5 good though, still rather dry and covered in cilantro, came with some sauce, but overall the best thing I had. The decor of the place was just baffling. High ceiling, high chairs, white walls, random TTU alumni adorning the walls, tvs with sports running. Seemingly trying to be a nice place, but the kind of nice place where you can watch the latest football game while having an overpriced beer and the worst grilled cheese of your life. The service I got was fine, on the lower side of quality (especially for the price point). I did like the brown overalls they were wearing, very steampunk. When I saw this place had an overwhelmingly positive reception, I was excited to go there, but this was one of the most disappointing places I've visited in Lubbock which sucks cause it's local. For $20 i got half a grilled cheese, worst than canned soup, and 3 mulitas (which I shared). Maybe to some they would say this was a middling experience, but have some standards for yourself people. I sincerely hope that I just had rotten luck picking the worst item on the menu, and this place is actually quite good, but that's all optimism and no reality. What I got was one star, please fix your grilled cheese. 3/15 (+ brown overalls, + mulita, -everything else) Fails in pretty much every category, I'm sure some dishes are good, but I won't revisit in some futile attempt to find one

I was back in Lubbock visiting my girlfriend after she had come to see me in Austin the last few times, and we were planning our weekend. I had previously taken her to The West Table to celebrate her graduation, and since we loved it, we knew we had to go back. Last time we went was an amazing experience. We had their arancini as our shared appetizer. She had their Roasted Beet Salad and the Grilled Rack of Lamb, while I had their Caesar and their Cast Iron Seared Duck Breast, which was amazing. We also enjoyed their specialty drinks. This time we arrived for our 7:00 reservation and were greeted and sat immediately. We both ordered a drink to start the night. I started with the Hibi-Jibi, a hibiscus and gin drink, while she had the Peach Ring Margarita. West Table is a farm-to-table scratch kitchen concept, so it's very important that you order all your food from appetizer to main course up front to give them time to craft it at the right pace. The West Table is at the floor level of the luxurious Pioneer Condos. It sits right across from their sister location, The Brewery LBK, and even serves their current brews on location. However, opting for their brews and not their cocktails is a mistake in my opinion because their specialty cocktails are truly one of a kind. The restaurant itself is beautiful. It feels like a ballroom and all the tables are well spaced out. In the back is the open kitchen where you can see all the chefs putting in hard work and mastering each meal. All around, there is great energy. We started with their Roasted Bone Marrow. I was worried about the idea of eating bone marrow since that was something I had never had before, but my girlfriend assured me it would be great. The bones were filled with an onion jam and lemon caper vinaigrette that were placed inside the bone. You could spread the jam and vinaigrette on their grilled bread, which was fantastic as well. It was purposely charred and really added to the jam's flavor profile. We then split their Caesar Salad, and it was a needed divider between our appetizer and entree. Their salad is a good portion for one person, and it was still satisfying being split for two. It was the perfect amount of salad. We got our next drinks ordered to go alongside our main entree. My girlfriend ordered their Fig Old Fashioned, while I got the "C" Monster, a celery-infused vodka drink with a name that sounds so stupid saying out loud that I almost changed my drink after saying it. Can I get the C Monster? WHAT A FOOL. The drink was really solid. The celery flavor was super noticeable, but in a good way. It balanced with the vodka quite nicely. For our main entrees, my girlfriend got their Salmon over Angel Hair pasta, and I got their Pork Chop over mashed potatoes and asparagus. The noodles with the salmon were strong with a very heavy Cajun kick, which complemented the crispy salmon piece, but my pork chop was the star of the show. They recommended it medium, so I got it medium, and it was delightful. Portions of the pork chop were nice and fatty, while others were lean and tender. I was a big fan of its flavor, and the sauce and mashed potatoes really added to it. Perfectly fluffy mashed potatoes. We closed the night with no dessert, but dessert drinks. My girlfriend got The Cold Fashioned (a mix between a smoked old fashioned and coffee liqueur), and I got the Buenas Noches, which mixes coffee liqueur, chocolate liqueur, and orange liqueur. Of all the "nice" restaurants in town, West Table stands alone. It has a price tag but still feels fair. Everything we had was top notch, and I still think they've made the best duck I've ever had. Their waitstaff is attentive and amazing and really sells the experience. At the end of the night, she was happy, I was happy, and West Table proved itself to be the LeBron of Lubbock restaurants. I will give major props to the server, Mollie, and her manager for doing a phenomenal job resolving a minor issue with the order quickly, politely, and effectively. The atmosphere was fair with good music and humorous decor in the bathroom. The lights weren't for me, but others may like the statement. Where The Reserve was lacking was the food. The pepperoni pizza was pretty good, but again there are better options around town. It did taste like it had been prepared in a genuine brick oven. The tortellini was bland. The queso was good enough, but nothing to get excited about. The salsa was downright terrible. The chips were actually phenomenal. The margarita made no attempt to cover up the strong taste of tequila. The Chilton tasted like club soda and not much else. Lastly, some of the surprise fees made me feel like I was booking air travel or paying a wireless bill rather than getting a nice meal. The final charge was a few dollars more than what was shown on the ticket. I assumed this was probably due to a service charge for paying with a card, although I didn't see it with a quick glance at the receipt. In all fairness, I'm sure this was disclosed somewhere and I overlooked it. I have come to accept this as the way of the world now. Also, when we ordered the chips and queso, we were asked if we wanted salsa with it. We accepted the salsa with the assumption that it was complimentary. Granted, since we were asked, I should have assumed that there was a charge for it. The charge was reasonable, although wasted because the salsa was so terrible. I did receive approximately a 5% discount for the order mix-up, and I actually ended up with a free pizza as well. The service and attentiveness were truly exemplary. I would give this place a second chance if I were in the area, but I certainly will not go out of my way for it.
