Wanted Italian and this place looked great. In downtown. Plenty of street parking. Big open area, lots of tables. Sports on a few tvs. Very Nice waiters. Brought our own wine for $3 cork fee. Started with salads, huge. The wife got the muscle appetizer and she loved it. Came with 4 small loads of warm bread. I had to try the pink parmesan. Very good. More huge servings so leftovers tonight. Great prices.

Took my sister to this place, we're both pasta lovers, and it did NOT disappoint!! From the stuffed mushroom appetizer our entree's, it was a 10/10. Our server was super sweet and was attentive. Overall a great experience - it does get busy in the evenings, but not too long of a wait for 2 people.

I have to preface by explaining something. My wife and I drove two and a half hours to Lubbock for a concert. On the drive she searched for some place on the way to stop for dinner before the show. We got informed, during dinner, that the show had been rescheduled. All of that is important because the first thing my wife said after we found out was, "It was still worth the trip for this food." That's how good it was. My wife got the Pink Parmigiana, one of the house specialties and probably one of the best pasta dishes we've ever had. I got the chicken fettuccine Alfredo which was also quite good. The place was busy, but we were seated immediately. Our server was attentive and helpful but didn't hover. I really can't think of a single complaint about the dining experience.

I've had this place twice in the past week, it's amazing. I had their Eggplant Parmesan w/ pink sauce (picture shown); it's easily the best Italian food Lubbock has to offer.

I've been to Italian Garden many times and the food is always good. The service is great and the atmosphere is as well. This review is a reminder to pay attention to the menu and ask questions if you're not sure. We had the calamari, which is the best in town in my opinion. We also had salads, which have improved over the years. The vinaigrette is amazing. The entree is the issue. The flavor of the shrimp and crab ravioli was fine, but the heat caught me off guard. There is a flame symbol on the menu and it states there are cherry peppers. It didn't mention the jalapeño cream sauce, or the jalapeños slices. It was really hot. Not something you expect when ordering Italian food. Just be aware. It's still a favorite restaurant, but this dish is not an option.

All the food was delicious and our server, Mia, was delightful. Super aware and made really sweet interactions before, during and after our dinner. 5/5 would absolutely recommend! I forgot to take a picture of the mushroom appetizers but those were absolutely hella good. Theres not a ton of parking in the area so keep that in mind.

Very quick service. The venue is semiformal and well decorated. I had the chicken parmigiana with pesto sauce and it was exquisite.

What...was that?…read more Perhaps that's the issue. I remember what One Guy's used to be. It was formerly a place that I'd recommend to anyone visiting from out of town as a local favorite. It was a place I went when I cared less about convenience and using a coupon for some chain pizza and instead wanted something absolutely delicious. Sadly, it's not that anymore. The salad out front was decent enough, albeit pretty basic and definitely nothing special. The calzone was watery. Yes, watery. I don't even know how or why, but there was an excessive amount of watery liquid coming out of it. The pepperoni pizza was decent enough, but definitely no better than you're going to get from a chain, or (I can't believe I'm saying this) frozen. The sauce was particularly off-putting and gave me a different kind of nostalgia than I thought I would get eating here. It reminded me of eating Chef Boyardee vlin microwavable bowls as a kid. I was told that after taking the leftovers home and trying them the next day, they were even worse reheated. I didn't have that misfortune myself as I was done with it after the meal. The service was adequately good, but there was no crowd like I would have expected, and it's easy to see why. I'm fully aware of the reasons things may have gone a different direction (specifically downhill) at One Guy's and that there are now more options in town. I just hoped that this location still had some of that pizazz that made it special. Sadly, I was disappointed.

I went in by myself on a Thursday evening, as I was in Lubbock (and at TTU) for work meetings, and sat at the bar for a beer and dinner. Three employees -- servers and bartenders -- were working the place, as it was summer and school wasn't yet in session, so while most tables were filled, the bar had empty seats and a couple of tables were still empty. TEN MINUTES I sat at the bar before I was even acknowledged, and that was because the two guys next to me, who'd been there at least that long themselves, finally asked for menus, and so I said, "I'd like one, too." The guy got me a menu and I decided on what to order. Set the menu down, and another 5+ minutes went by while the servers dealt with other tables and even other customers at the bar. Now, we are 15+ minutes in, and finally the guy who got me the menu asked if I wanted something to drink. I ordered a beer, where he could have TURNED AROUND to enter it in the register and pour it from the tap, but he went to another table and I didn't see him again for another 5 or so minutes. At that point, I'd had enough, and I left. I would have enjoyed trying the pizza and enjoying a beer there. The place had a cool vibe and the food looked and smelled good, from what I could see from neighbors. But the dismissive attitude of the staff who must actually have looked THROUGH me (I was at the very center of the bar and I'm pretty sure I'm not transparent) and having been ignored for about 20 minutes was enough. Went down the road to Flippers Tavern and had a wonderful experience there! Sorry, but if you can't even acknowledge your customers when you're busy but not slammed, you don't deserve my business. Maybe it's because I'm an Old Dude and not a young hipster or college student, but it was disappointing and frustrating. Bottom line: skip this place, especially if you're over 35 or so.
