A little out of the way, as it is located downtown. However, it's worth the time to drive down and try the place. Ambiance is casual enough, but you can dress up and not feel out of place. Not dim, but not overly bright lighting. Service was quick, friendly, and came by the table often. Now the food. I had heard good things about it, but I was quite pleased with how good it actually was. Bread is complimentary and comes out early. Very good bread. We both had the Pink Parmesan and it did not disappoint. If you don't know, that is Alfredo sauce and red sauce mixed. Chicken was well cooked and not dry at all. The tortellini it comes with is SO good! We had one plate with this, and then one with fettuccine noodles. Both are topped with the pink sauce. Tortellini was our favorite of the two, but we're both very good. Portions were generous. My wife and I could have split an order and it would have been plenty of food. Did not come with a salad or soup. I'm sure that could have been added, but was not included with the meal. Also had seafood items, but we did not try any of them. Pricing was on par with other restaurants in town. Most entrees were in the $11 to $20 range, with a few more expensive items. We will be back for sure. read more

Took my sister to this place, we're both pasta lovers, and it did NOT disappoint!! From the stuffed mushroom appetizer our entree's, it was a 10/10. Our server was super sweet and was attentive. I have to preface by explaining something. My wife and I drove two and a half hours to Lubbock for a concert. On the drive she searched for some place on the way to stop for dinner before the show. We got informed, during dinner, that the show had been rescheduled. All of that is important because the first thing my wife said after we found out was, "It was still worth the trip for this food." That's how good it was. My wife got the Pink Parmigiana, one of the house specialties and probably one of the best pasta dishes we've ever had. I got the chicken fettuccine Alfredo which was also quite good. The place was busy, but we were seated immediately. Our server was attentive and helpful but didn't hover. My wife and her friend visited Italian Garden today during lunchtime. They each ordered a salad and a pasta dish. Everything seemed fine while they were eating, but immediately after finishing their meal, things took a serious turn. Before even leaving the parking lot, my wife had to open the car door and threw up violently and without warning. Moments later, her friend also became extremely sick and threw up as well. This all happened within minutes of leaving the restaurant with no other food or drinks consumed beforehand. Her friend went back inside to inform the staff about what happened, not to argue but simply to make them aware in case something was wrong with the food. Instead of showing any concern, the staff dismissed the situation and refused to even consider that it might have been related to their meal. They said it was a coincidence even though both customers became violently ill at the same time right after eating the same items. We understand restaurants do not want to admit fault but completely disregarding a legitimate concern especially when multiple people got sick immediately after eating is unacceptable. Even some basic empathy or willingness to check the kitchen would have gone a long way. This experience was alarming and based on how the situation was handled we will not be returning. read more

I've been to Italian Garden many times and the food is always good. The service is great and the atmosphere is as well. This review is a reminder to pay attention to the menu and ask questions if you're not sure. We had the calamari, which is the best in town in my opinion. We also had salads, which have improved over the years. The vinaigrette is amazing. The entree is the issue. The flavor of the shrimp and crab ravioli was fine, but the heat caught me off guard. There is a flame symbol on the menu and it states there are cherry peppers. It didn't mention the jalapeño cream sauce, or the jalapeños slices. It was really hot. Not something you expect when ordering Italian food. Just be aware. It's still a favorite restaurant, but this dish is not an option. read more

All the food was delicious and our server, Mia, was delightful. Super aware and made really sweet interactions before, during and after our dinner. 5/5 would absolutely recommend! Once again I am in Lubbock and need to find dinner. I was planning on visiting Italian Garden the last time but got a suggestion for somewhere else. This time my coworker and I decided to go here. The location is easy to find and plenty of parking was available. Inside was a nice atmosphere, casual, lots of seating, not too crowded. The staff was friendly and helpful. I ordered Chicken Parm which I use to judge all Italian restaurants, it's my fav and is always on the menu. I found it to be overcooked? It had a tough outer edge and was kinda rubbery. There were two pieces, one was obviously sliced off with a flat edge on one side. The cheese on top was good, meaty and tasty. The pasta was good but there was a fair amount of watery sauce sloshing around on the plates open space. Even sopping it up with bread wasn't that great as the bread had no flavor, was basically a roll with some unnoticeable seasoning on top. The Caesar salad was very good. I really liked the small croutons they used and the dressing was on point, tasty, good flavor, right thickness. Good job there. My coworker got calamari as an app and he said it was good. He also tried the waiters suggestion of tortellini in pink sauce with grilled chicken. He had no complaints that I heard. We sat and talked for a good while after eating, no push to get us out so it was a nice break and good place to try. I unfortunately found the chicken parm lacking, but there's always more to try out at an Italian restaurant. read more

I don't venture downtown anytime I don't have to but Italian Garden is a pretty solid joint for some good calamari and the seafood combo with "pink sauce" (whatever that is) is pretty dang good. The clams and shrimp are excellent. Service has always been great for our groups and the prices don't really break the bank unless you overindulge...which our group always tends to do. This is one of my favorite Italian restaurants in Lubbock. The prices are reasonable and the portion sizes for the entrees are pretty large. The service is nice and the food always tastes great. Any dish with pink sauce is fantastic. The pink sauce has a very nice richness and a light sweetness to it. It's extremely decadent and clings to the pasta very well. One of my favorite dishes here is the chicken aristocrat. It's sautéed chicken and eggplant topped with mozzarella cheese with spaghetti and pink sauce. The chicken and eggplant are meaty and add a nice substance to the pasta. The slight bitterness of the eggplant also pairs really well with the pink sauce. Another great dish with the pink sauce is the veal albanese. Or if you don't like the pink sauce, the shrimp scampi is also really good. I've been here many times and I've enjoyed every dish that I've tried. read more

For a small town of Lubbock, this place is busy. I went during a weekday to grab lunch between meetings. I would say half the tables were occupied. The service staff work well together. A table spilled water and though a server came out to help clean up, there was still water on the floor. Another server or maybe the same one, saw that, and didnt move from the spot until someone came to help dry up the area to prevent a potential accident. I got a Greek salad that had cucumbers which looked a little too ripe. Some of the lettuce was browned. You can prevent this by keeping chopped romaine in cold water and using a salad spinner to remove the water when you need it. My eggplant parm dish was good. I got in and out in 30 minutes. You pay at the counter upon leaving. First time I've been to an Italian restaurant where the pasta dish cost less than a bowl of pho! Also they have good lunch deals. Plenty of parking. read more
