We stopped by to grab some lunch after a day of shopping, thank god we did. The restaurant was welcoming with the great smell of authentic Italian pizza The price for pizza was not bad at all, we ordered 2 large pizzas. First one was half pepperoni and half sausage, the second pizza was the barbecue with everything on it. All I can say is that I've had many pizzas from many different restaurants, but Papa V pizza is the best pizza we have ever had. The owner came out and talked to us about his restaurant and how he makes his pizza so great in the oven. It was a pleasure taking to the owner. 3.5 Stars I picked up a Calzone here through the drive thru. I was craving calzones from One Guy, but their prices have jumped up significantly. Papa Vs was cheaper and felt like a much cleaner establishment. The service was friendlier and more organized. Papa Vs offered a half baked option, which ended up making the calzone less greasy and soggy. The side salad and ranch were okay. One Guys is better in that regard. The food was good, but not great. The flavors were a little lacking. If deciding between the two, I would probably select Papa Vs. I'll definitely be back to try the pizza there inside the restaurant. read more

The BEST PIZZA place in Lubbock! We had the Taco Caliente and it exceeded my expectations. The employees there are so attentive and friendly. My husband went to get a pizza box to take the leftovers home and was told the best way to heat it up later. Also, one of the only places in Lubbock that has clean high chairs. read more

First and foremost Rest In Peace Papa V, We came to find out through the hospitality of this establishment, that it is named after the father of the boss man of this establishment. Today I went to get my ears lowered by my comrade in culinary crime, Top Ramon. During which we both realized there was a new line of pizza places that needed to be explored. This line of thinking brought us to Papa V's. As soon as we entered, the simplicity of the general area didn't overwhelm the senses, which made it both welcoming and relaxing. We ordered some mozzarella sticks and a medium pizza half supreme and half pepperoni with some drinks. The fountain drink dispensary had a solid selection but there was only one drink I truly cared about and that was Root Beer.. could of gotten away with Dr. P as well. What cherry coke and cherry Pepsi is to a good sub, root beer and Dr Pepper is to a good slice of pizza(straight up opinion, not fact) We got our mozzarella sticks fairly quickly but they did the trick. Cheese to breading ratio was done right, sauce was light but flavorful. Usually you get a healthy coating of bread on cheese with a thick marinara sauce that can be described as constipated tomato droppings, but not here. The sauce was just right , flavors that let you know they were there without telling you they were there, like the secret soldiers of Benghazi When we received the pizza, the first thing we noticed was that solid sturdy foundation of crust with a BEAUTIFUL char, crunch factor is a huge plus. It wasn't doughy one bit but it held it all up just the same. The mathematical division of ingredients was as if Stephen Hawking took lessons from Emerald himself. In the middle of finishing up the pie, the gentleman who made the pie with his very hands came out and gave us a history lesson on how this place came to be. Turns out we have treaded through Las Vegas, Houston , San Diego and San Francisco at one point in our lives.. (SHOUT OUT TO PAYLESS PIZZA IN LAS VEGAS BY THE ORLEANS) We then began to devour our supreme slices and somewhere in between enjoying the explosive flavors of the sausage and the bangin feel Of the mushrooms , we both noticed we hadn't talked to each other for a solid 3 minutes because we were too in tune with the pizza itself. Real Carl's Jr. moment, don't bother me I'm Eating. All in all this place is gonna have to take the number one spot in Lubbock followed closely by Giorgios but this place real left us flabbergasted, Best pizza since the covid pandemic of 2020 read more

Jerry is a calzone/ pizza legend! The original "One Guy from Italy!" We are blessed to have him back in Lubbock!

Been coming to Lubbock for over 30-years and had never eaten here. Came because Yelp had it #3 overall for Pizza in Lubbock and it was close. We got the standard large Pepperoni. It was good. Sauce had a great flavor. Crust was good - thicker than I like but it was good. Much more greasy than I like also, but the rest of the family really enjoyed it. Just not my style of pizza, but I would recommend it for others to try because the overall taste was good. 6.8 out of 10 stars read more
