Most importantly, this message isn't a reflection of the very nice older man working the counter this morning, but rather the business practices he's been subjected to (my guess is by the owner who's been mentioned in several other reviews in a less than favorable light). Here's what happened, I had a return, pre-paid label for a pair of Bose headphones going directly back to Bose, even brought my own box and packing materials in the hope of easing the return process. They emailed me the return label so when I asked to print it off he directed me towards the computer by the door. To use the computer it required a credit card, which was I thought was odd, but okay whatever. Swiped my card, printed off my label (in black and white) which cost $0.50. Okay fine, paying for the paper/ink, whatever. What I didn't see is they charge $3.50 for five minutes of use of the computer even though I was on it a grand total of less than 20 seconds. $3.50 for five minutes? Let alone ANY money to use the computer in the first place? Hey ownership, how much pleasure do you derive from reading reviews like this one about you seem to enjoy nothing more than squeezing every nickel you possibly can from each transaction? Wake up, you're in the customer service business, maybe take time away from counting your nickels and learn how to provide it. Maybe, just maybe, those nickels will turn into dollars. Given my experience however, to say I'm less than confident in your ability to do so is probably the understement of the millennium. read more

Service was instant, with no other customers in sight, and the staff who assisted me was nice and provided helpful information, even offered to make me a duplicate receipt for reimbursement from my employer. Total bummer that we can't live without UPS. But there's service that was provided by the three individuals at this store today... well... sucked. I came in because I needed a live scan service for volunteering to be preformed. And, it was close by my office so I went there -- but one of the other reasons is that the live scan fee was published to be lower than most. I confirmed this by calling them. There is a recorded statement stating that the amount was $5 less than what was being charged to me. I even confirmed this on speaker. The response I got was, "we tried to change it and it didn't work." I asked if they would honor it. Response, "no this is our price. And it's been like this for a long time." Sounds to me that they have 1 a problem with their technology, 2 have a customer service problem, and 3 a false advertising problem. There's a lot of UPS stores, maybe you, certainly me -- should use a different one. Is there a way to see which ones the local owner owns? I stopped by the UPS Store this morning to inquire about returning a couple of packages that were delivered to my apartment. The packages were not for me. They were addressed to the previous tenant. The UPS store directed me to the UPS Customer Service Center in San Ramon and said I should turn them in there and refuse delivery. This way I would not get charged for shipping. They are friendly and help find the most cost efficient box and shipping method. I usually pay the few extra dollars for them to pack and tape items, and around the holidays I always go to UPS vs. USPS to skip the long lines and for better service. It's pretty odd for a shipping store to get a five star review but most shipping people are not like Sean. On a rainy evening, I stumbled into the store to submit an Amazon return one minute before closing. I failed to notice that I needed to supply my own packaging, what was I thinking? Sean had some packaging options he could sell me, but he went in the back and was able to locate some used. First off I would like to say this experience needs to be shared. I do not leave reviews but this is necessary. I went in to simply do an Amazon return. I tried using self service to scan return label at Amazon return kiosk. This did not work as I did not have QR code so I was directed to use computer to print label. I then began l to use computer and had no success printing out label. After 8 min of non help and one suggestion. I logged off of computer and went to counter. I explained I had spent $8 with no success of printing label on a free return. The CSR then expressed I should have been able to and that it was obviously a user error. Then proceeded to give me an email to send the label for printing. She then printed label and was able to do all of this in less than 2min top. I would have understood if the store was busy or there was some reasoning to this that could make sense. Something that should have been free and could have easily been done in 2min was drawn out to 15min. I am beyond frustrated with the lack of customer service that was shown. read more

Horrible PR! Today I went there to drop my Amazon package because I do not need it. I packed it on Amazon box with it thick white packing tape. I came there, I saw a guy whose name is Sean. He was helping a customer ahead of me. I do not know the story short but Sean was pissed on the customer. The customer gave him a passive aggressive response. Now it's my turn. I am patiently waiting. When I came I handed the box politely stating here is my only item. Sean, being pissed with the previous customer, he gave me an attitude blaming my clear tape for not reading on his bar code. Gladly I have patience and class, I did not stoop down on his pettiness. He was repeating what he was asking I never answered him. I said it was only a clear tape, nothing more nothing less. Now Sean's barcode read the code. No apologies from him being a mean sales associate. I quietly left the UPS. Sean, I know being a sales associate is hard but you don't deserve to treat every customer a shit response. Unbelievable. This UPS location used to be a very friendly, efficient customer service oriented,. However; this morning at 8:31am The store's door was open; I walked in no one was in the store; lady steps out of the back room while music playing loud in the back. Without any greetings She asked me to step out of the store until she "fully" opens the store. Say What? The front door is open sign says open at 8:30am. It's passed 8:30am and I'm inside your store and you're asking me to step out until you' are fully open? This store never ran this way before I miss AJ and his crew. I was recently at the UPS store on Santa Rita in Pleasanton, Ca. I waited for three previous customers to finish their transactions for my turn. When it became my turn, one of the male employees called me over for assistance. I explained I needed a poster board created for a charitable function, all materials together, just needed to be blown up larger onto a poster board. I was then asked to step aside, wait for 6 other customers in line to be helped prior to actually assisting me as it might take a while. I had waited patiently for my turn and now was told to wait while six others were assisted first. I also had no promise that if more customers arrived that I would not have to continue to wait for those new customers to be assisted. I understand that my project could have taken some time. However, I waited my turn and there was no way of knowing if the other customers had projects that would have taken just as long. Very poor customer service with little to no respect or interest in maintaining customer satisfaction. I will absolutely never return or give UPS my business. read more

There's an old white-haired man at this UPS store who is extremely pretentious and is definitely a racist. The first time, he said I needed to tape up my Amazon return myself and tried to get me to buy a $15 roll of tape from the store. The second time, he made me process the return myself at the machine and stood beside me pointing and commenting. The third time, after I had taped up the package, he forcibly opened it again and insisted that I repeat what was inside. Can't you see it's a lamp? The fourth time, he said the stamp on my USPS letter wasn't acceptable. Overall, I feel like no matter what I do, it's wrong. This UPS store should be shut down. But this white-haired old man is extremely friendly and patient towards, especially, elderly white women. How should I put it? Other UPS stores in the Pleasanton area are all very friendly. Be prepared to be insulted by the lady working in there. Perhaps because I usually return Amazon order at Whole Foods, I didn't know I have to seal the return box for "Amazon UPS" drop off" option. She asked me to read the Amazon policy poster. I did so quickly. I turned to her and explained I usually return at Whole Foods, and before I even finished my sentence, she scolded me, "No, you didn't read it (the policy). Please read it!" Before I left the store, she said at one point, "well, you learned a few things about UPS today." Calling out the excellent customer service I received while at this UPS location. I came in to get a LiveScan completed and unfortunately only have part of the things completed due to a communication issue. Kierra and Maria stepped up to guide me through, helping me get the correct form, and then rapidly worked to get the LiveScan completed. They could have sent me away and left me go figure out where the gap was on my own, which would have caused a massive delay. Instead, they both went above and beyond, which ensured that this was completed quickly, resulting in the clearance I needed. Laptop was lost by the Store. Terrible service and not willing to own the mistake. I had to ship my work laptop to the Corporate office for upgrade so dropped off the laptop with the label provided. After 5 days I got a call from my Office stating that the box which should contain the Laptop was switched with Shoes. I went to the store and asked Sean how the package was switched, first he was not ready to accept this can happen, and was very rude. After I received shoes back from my office I went with those shoes and showed him. He was so mad as if I was the one who made this mistake. He did not cooperate, upon asking what should be the next steps he kept saying I don't know. It's been 3 weeks still my laptop is missing and he is now saying consider it's gone. Is he kidding me, this store should be closed. If we trust you, how can you make this kind of mistake and still have courage to say "consider it lost" and not cooperate but on the other hand be angry and mad as if I am the one who lost his laptop. This is not acceptable at all. Never met such a rude, negligent and careless person who also happens to be the owner of this store.
