Highly recommend!!…read more I have rented various PO Boxes in the Pasadena and Sierra Madre Area over the last three decades (including at the Post Office and at the UPS Store), but nothing even comes close to what Mark and Monica have done with Nomad Post after they bought it from the previous owner. The transformation has been breathtaking. As survivors of the Eaton Fire, we lost our Altadena house and had to move from distant temporary location to temporary location until we relocated out of state into temporary post-fire housing in Hawaiʻi. We were terrified of losing important official mail/correspondence in the chaos of all the moves. There was no way that a US Postal Service mailbox could have kept up with our needs. I am SO glad we happened to have a rented PO Box with Mark and Monica at Nomad Post! For instance, now that we live in Hawaiʻi, we are true "nomads" and we can no longer physically pick up our PO Box mail in California. Mark and Monica kindly collect up our California mail for us and ship it to us in Hawaiʻi without charging an extra fee for their own time/labor. They weigh each packet of mail when itʻs ready to send to us, quote the current prices of available shipping options (US Postal Service vs FedEx), and we choose whichever is cheaper that week. Surprisingly, in recent months, FedEx has become cheaper than the US Postal Service for sending our mail packets to Hawaiʻi. Also, sometimes online retailers refuse to ship to Hawai ʻi. We live on an island. Not being able to order things online would make life a lot more difficult. Again, Mark and Monica happily receive on our behalf at Nomad Post, and then work with us to figure the best way to get each item to us in Hawaiʻi. So easy, and we still come out way ahead on cost. Fortunately, because Nomad Post is a complete one stop service center, Mark and Monica can easily implement any shipment method/arrangement we choose. They are both fast AND affordable, which makes working with them worth every penny. We are so grateful that one crucial thing that we have not had to worry about in the post-wildfire moves and chaos has been losing our lifeline of very important mail and online retailer shipment receiving capacity. By the way, since taking over as the new owners a while back, Mark and Monica overhauled/renovated the shop and have turned it into a bright, clean, cheerful, accessible, well organized miracle. They instinctively think about what would be best for us as the customers, and offer more service than I ever imagined possible. If you have a small business or need a personal PO Box mailing address or any number of services for any reason, Mark and Monica (aka Nomad Post) are definitely who you want in your corner as part of your team!

The office can be messy, in part because it's definitely on the small side, so lots of boxes are placed in areas where customers go. I now only come to this branch if I have a simple task, like bringing in a package that is already properly taped up and already has a label that can be easily scanned. Even then, you are asked to place your item on the stack of boxes in the middle of the store. Anything more complicated, or requiring more assistance, I go to the UPS by Vons on Colorado.

After greeting her and getting zero response (shocker!), she goes ahead and scans my phone. Then she prints the return label and just hands it to me and demands that I put it on the box. I ask where and she says "over the old address!" Yo, isn't that your job lady? And then she gruffly tells me to just put the box on top of a whole bunch of other boxes that were just sitting in the middle of the store. So I guess I work here now! And why the eff is there a pile of boxes in the middle of the store anyway? Which brings me to another gripe: this place is disorganized as hell. There are boxes lying around everywhere and the counters barely have any space to do anything. Just piles of paper, stationery, knick knacks, the Epstein files, you name it. It really makes you question how thorough they are with your packages. Seriously. Thanks to Yelp, you can see how others feel about this place. On some of these reviews, their business manager replies with a lame cut and paste message apologizing and claiming they'll look into it. Lulz, yeah right. Your problems are still there! Which I calmly explained to the man at the counter. Instead of calmly explaining this or offering a solution, Steve quickly denied the return with more of a "can't take it, not my problem" attitude. Only after some back and forth did he mention I'd need to purchase a larger box. I had no issue with buying a new box. What I did have an issue with was the dismissive and impatient way the situation was handled. A little courtesy and clear communication would've gone a long way.

He was incredibly responsive and helpful during a really stressful situation, and even helped get my prints done before the shop officially opened because I needed them before 8 AM. No other printing company I contacted was available that early on a Saturday, and Jay went out of his way to help me out. The prints came out great and the customer service was honestly amazing. Jay was a nice man and very quickly said he could get our job done but I think some finesse was…read moremissing in his process. You really need to have longer conversations about exactly what you want and he was a bit preoccupied with another job when we talked. Just a bit casual in the way he works. First of all he didn't discuss paper quality or weight which most printers I have worked with would bring up during your consultation. Additionally we wanted to hard laminate bookmarks, which he tried to talk us out of. But what he didn't do, when he printed the bookmarks is trim them where the design clearly ended before laminating them (and it was not a hard lamination) so all of the bookmarks had a 1/2 inch at the top without design. The design very clearly showed where it stopped but he did not see it or the difference from the end of the design and the bleed. I guess that was something else we needed to be super clear with him about, something that most pros would catch. Finally, he printed our programs on a heavy glossy paper that was not necessary for a program for a memorial luncheon, which made them difficult to fold. I guess I will say, that if you are going to work with Jay, make sure you discuss every single aspect of what you want, paper type and weight, trimming, etc. for every aspect of your print job. In the end, we were able to use what was printed, the program and the bookmarks just weren't exactly what we wanted. Additionally, he asked us to reformat our files and then email them to him but didn't reach out until the next day to let us know that he did not receive the file. I will say once he had the files the work was done the next day.
