I seriously cannot thank Jay enough. I needed 6 colored 24x24" boards printed for my architecture final presentation super last minute, and he completely saved me. He was incredibly responsive and helpful during a really stressful situation, and even helped get my prints done before the shop officially opened because I needed them before 8 AM. No other printing company I contacted was available that early on a Saturday, and Jay went out of his way to help me out. The prints came out great and the customer service was honestly amazing. Jay was a nice man and very quickly said he could get our job done but I think some finesse was missing in his process. You really need to have longer conversations about exactly what you want and he was a bit preoccupied with another job when we talked. Just a bit casual in the way he works. First of all he didn't discuss paper quality or weight which most printers I have worked with would bring up during your consultation. Additionally we wanted to hard laminate bookmarks, which he tried to talk us out of. But what he didn't do, when he printed the bookmarks is trim them where the design clearly ended before laminating them (and it was not a hard lamination) so all of the bookmarks had a 1/2 inch at the top without design. The design very clearly showed where it stopped but he did not see it or the difference from the end of the design and the bleed. I guess that was something else we needed to be super clear with him about, something that most pros would catch. Finally, he printed our programs on a heavy glossy paper that was not necessary for a program for a memorial luncheon, which made them difficult to fold. I guess I will say, that if you are going to work with Jay, make sure you discuss every single aspect of what you want, paper type and weight, trimming, etc. for every aspect of your print job. In the end, we were able to use what was printed, the program and the bookmarks just weren't exactly what we wanted. Additionally, he asked us to reformat our files and then email them to him but didn't reach out until the next day to let us know that he did not receive the file. This is a great place if you don't really care about order. They do great work and can be very quick, but everything seems a bit chaotic if there's more than one person there at a time. I can't stress enough that it's a great spot to get your print work done at, just be prepared for a bit of wonderment while waiting for your turn to get your work done. The value is almost unmatched in the area, and you'll probably never be unsatisfied with the work. I needed to send an urgent fax. I first went to the big name store, which was charging $2.49 a page. That would be pretty much $50 for my 20 page fax! I called Print X-Press and was quoted $15! Recently, Los Angeles hosted a women's half marathon with thousands of participants. Compared to other places, they charge at least 10 cents per page. Incredible pricing. If you are printing hundred of pages, you will save 70% compared to the competition. The owner here, Jay, is patient and great. He was able to print out the documents I needed quickly and with precision. Not only can he print, he can also make copies. Small oddly shaped to large sizes, this shop can handle it. This place can also print large posters same day. You are not limited on the type of media to get your printing done, you can email it to the shop, bring a usb, or bring the physical copy. The paper used at this shop is top notch, it's a smooth kind and not cheap rough paper. The print came out great. The printer is definitely industrial grade and it's huge! Parking for this place is easy as there's street parking and also a parking lot in the back. Don't need to worry about parking. This place accepts credit card as well. 5/5, would come back for my printing needs. The only "con", and this is extremely nit picking, is that it's warm inside as there's no AC. Super disappointed with my experience. I wasn't happy with how the images looked, the greens were off and they weren't very crisp. I mentioned this was a gift for my mom and he literally said she's older so unlike me she won't have 20/20 vision and wouldn't notice. Umm no sir. He also didn't even bother trimming my photos when I asked. I decided to go to another place in Burbank and to my surprise I was charged 1/3 of the price, the quality was better, they cut all my photos for me, and even put them in a sleeve to protect them. I feel like I was taken advantage of because I wasn't super knowledgeable. 11 photos for $45 vs $15 at the other place and all on nice thick paper. Lesson learned, do your research. read more
