He waited there for like 30min while I waited in the car for him. He text me like 20min later that he was still waiting.. I waited a bit then finally decide to go in and see what's going on. No one in there greeted me or anything I ask my son "are they not ready yet" my son was ready to leave, I told him we would ask and see what's taking long. My son also said he kept calling him "sir, sir" and just ignored him. I don't know if the grumpy old man heard me but he then brought the prints to my son and rudely said "anything else" and proceeded to charge my son. Very rude place. Pricey. And racist!!! I brought in a set of my personal stationery and asked Joseph at Pasadena Image Printing (PIP) if he would be able to duplicate it exactly. Joseph said they could and was quick to charge my credit card in full for the order. The results, however, fell drastically short of his promises. PIP made several mistakes throughout the process, i.e., the size of the letterhead (it didn't fit the envelopes), the stock was nowhere near the quality of the sample I provided, etc. Admitting their errors, they reprinted the letterhead on different stock which turned out to be just as low-quality (ink would bleed through the letterhead) in a color that didn't match the envelopes or business cards they printed. After going back and forth with Joseph, for over a month, with still nothing to show for the close to $400 I had already been charged, and after an extremely aggressive phone call from Joseph, I agreed to come back, one last time, to look at a different stock for yet another reprint. I agreed with the condition that, if the new stock was not a color match, we would call it quits and I'd be refunded provided I return all materials (business cards, etc) they had printed. As confirmed by Shannon, an employee at PIP (the only bright light in this otherwise very dark process), this final proposed letterhead stock was still not a color match to the business cards and envelopes. As agreed, I handed the business cards, et al, back over to Shannon - only to have Joseph later refuse to refund my credit card leaving him with close to $400 (as well as a LOT of my time) and me with absolutely nothing. I have since successfully disputed the charge with my bank costing me even more time and unwelcome effort. It was my experience that Joseph at PIP spent more time trying to pressure and bully me into accepting his failed attempts at satisfying the results he promised when charging my credit card than time he could have spent providing satisfying results. FYI, Printhauz in Pasadena, and BJ's in Glendale are PIP's sister stores. I'd avoid them as well. read more

Very rude man named Joseph answered the phone and kept hanging up on me when I was asking simple pricing questions for a simple colored photograph I needed to be printed for my father's grave. I have been coming here for fifteen years to get prints done usually by a man named Paul and I've never met Joseph. I called back to let him know I don't appreciate being hung up on and I will never return as a customer. He said he has two customer waiting that's why he hung up, I told him well I am also a customer and so if you can't talk on the phone do not answer the call if you're just going to hang up and disrespect other customers over other customers. I try to usually support local businesses but I won't be supporting this one anymore the way I was treated was dehumanizing. Avoid this place at all costs they are not the same they used to be! I have used the services of Pasadena Image Printing over the years for various projects including brochures, printing a photo onto canvas, resizing and printing images, etc. The services have been good in general but I was very disappointed with my latest project. I ordered business cards and gave them a file with a logo and the information I wanted on it. When I picked up the cards, the wording on the logo was really small. The person who worked on it told me that she made sure to write the name of the business in larger letters below the logo since the logo was small and hard to read. I am disappointed that they didn't call me to ask if I had the logo on a different type of file if she was aware of the problem. I didn't know what type of file to give them nor did they tell me. A simple email or phone call would have resulted in a logo people could actually read. I saw the sample on the screen before printing and approved it -- it's hard to tell what size something might really be on a screen. Money down the drain. read more

OUTRAGEOUS prices!!!! I took some blueprints in to Pasadena Image Printing to get copied a few days ago: 10 copies of 18"x24" originals, and four copies of 36" by 60" originals. I was quoted $29.95 total for the 10 smaller copies, which sounded reasonable at $3 apiece. The man assisting me said the larger blueprints would cost "a bit more". When I asked for the exact amount, he kept getting distracted by the phone and other customers. When I picked up the copies, I was told the total was $240!! I was SHOCKED - they had charged me over $50 for each large copy. That's not "a bit more". I had gone to FedEx first, but there was an issue with their larger printer, so they referred me to Pasadena Image Printing, just around the corner. FedEx had quoted me a total cost of $90. I imagined it might be slightly more at PIP, but WTAF. Pasadena Image Printing is just ripping people off. I will absolutely be warning people not to go there for their copying needs. read more

BEWARE: Always trust the bad reviews (this place has 2 stars on Yelp). I made the mistake of giving this place a chance. I previously came here to get a funeral photo printed and Brenda was extremely helpful, making every effort to print out proofs for me to make the color look realistic and fantastic for the ceremony. I appreciated it so much that I left a raving review and rating on Yelp. Now I came a 2nd time in hopes to print a poster that was a minimalistic black and white graphic on matte paper. I was originally quoted for $90 which was a pretty absurd price for a 24" x 36" sheet of paper. The owner asked if I was a student, then knocked it down to $54. I appreciated the discounted gesture, but this price is still insane because the competitors I saw were offering the SAME job with the SAME paper for $20-30 max. I wanted to support this small business by sticking with them so I paid. I later received the poster and saw that the alignment was off. My print came out un-usable and by this time, Brenda had left for the day so I had to call the following day to see if they could fix this. She promptly said yes and followed my margin instructions over the phone. I came back to pick it up and she wanted to charge me for this 2nd round. WHAT? There was no mention of additional cost over the phone. The 1st print was not usable and I was MORE than happy to return it/ exchange to get the correct final version. Brenda tried to be helpful but it seemed like she had to run literally everything by the owner (tyrannical micromanagement is a huge red flag). She called him over and he was very short with me. He said all he could do is take off 25%, but I would still have to pay for the correct print. He said the error was my fault lol. So it's the customer's fault if you have no design background and go to a print shop to get a file printed. They didn't even provide PROOFS which is a pretty basic thing to do at a print shop so they get it right the first time around without wasting "high quality" paper. It's so confusing that it would be out of my pocket to pay for this error. Why didn't they call to confirm the margins/ seek out further directions prior to the print process? They've been in the industry for so long, how could they overlook such a simple job/ step??? The owner assumes that I do not have access to Google and that I don't know what the wholesale cost is for a ream of matte paper and black ink (HP Production Matte Paper is $180 for 300- ft, so if you do the math, that's $0.60 per foot and this isn't even true wholesale pricing --it's cheaper). They want me to pay them a $102 in total for this whole experience. If I knew a simple job like this was going to be this complicated, I would've gone next door for $15. I understand that he's trying to run a business and pay for operational costs, but, bro, messing up on a piece of paper is the cost of doing business. Shouldn't he account for these potential and common errors that he creates a multi-step process to avoid the mistakes? Note that during this whole experience, I was as calm as a cucumber. I don't get triggered by trivial things like this. He got snappy-upset at my reasoning and snatched the poster paper from the counter and stormed to his back office. He did not apologize or work on a better solution or even say a proper good bye! He made the decision to protect his PRIDE by throwing my perfect print into the trash instead of simply handing me something I had already overpaid for. Clearly this man loves customer service and client retention with this bonafide archaic and petty attitude lol. Why even work in a service-based industry if you're going to act passive aggressive towards the smallest issue in the world? I think this is his way of nickel-and-diming people which makes total sense if you read all the other bad reviews on Yelp. So much for me trying to support small business owners. I need to make a letter print of my running T-shirt. I pride myself in leaving honest and helpful reviews. That is what the Elite Yelp community is here for. I debated leaving a review for Pasadena Image Printing, but honestly I hope to spare someone from working with this company. We took a simple (but incredibly important to our company) mailing job to them simply out of convenience (they are across the street from our building) and it almost ended truly disastrous. Pros: I honestly cannot think of one single pro to working with this terrible company. Cons: They have no price list - Joseph (the store manager) makes up the price as he pleases. Come to find out after comparing several other companies, their price is more than DOUBLE what all the other surrounding printing companies charge. I could understand and possibly accept this if they have outstanding customer service and quality work... but please, read on. We trusted them to print a very important letter for our company. We asked them to see a copy of it before anything was sent due to the nature of this letter. We called roughly10 times throughout the day to check on the status of the ~150 envelopes/letters (quite a small job and should not take long for a professional printing company to print out a sample) and they still had not gotten around to it despite us expressing that this was a time sensitive letter. The next morning we called and they said they mailed out all the letters last night at 5PM. We walk over there to ask for a copy of what was mailed and upon reviewing the letter we discovered they had missed punctuation after the salutation (they did a mail merge of an Excel document) and they left off the signature of the CEO and sent the letters with a large space where the signature should go. We were panicked. What was Joseph's solution you may ask? He said he would resend a second letter with the punctuation and signature. I requested that they go retrieve the letters at the post office and after hesitation they went and thankfully they were able to get them back. We then asked them to reprint with the correct punctuation and the signature. Instead of simply reprinting the job, Joseph told us it was all our fault because we had not provided the signature. He argued with us non-stop and we kept telling him we asked to see a proof before it was sent. Every other printing company provides a proof before production. This is not an unusual request. At one point, Joseph literally told me to "shut up" in front of his whole staff, my coworker and another of his customers. Joseph then lied about it later to my CEO and told him he actually said "chill out" - as if that is any better anyways...? I have never told a customer to shut up or chill out... the customer is always right. Has anyone besides me heard this before!? After fixing the mail merge and signature, Joseph provided me with a proof and I signed it and wrote on the proof that we would not be paying any additional fees for them to correct the errors. Upon pickup, he tried to charge us an additional fee for removing the middle initial on the letter (for example, they mail merged a name "Jane H. Smith" and on the letter addressed it to "Dear Jane H.," instead of "Dear Jane," ... WHAT?! Who does that!? Is this not a professional printing company? Have they never printed a letter before? Joseph told us that "The manager said he has to charge us an additional fee for fixing the mail merge" and I asked Joseph, "Aren't you the manager?" And he replied "Yes." At that point, my boss said forget it, we will stuff and stamp the envelopes ourselves and we took the documents with us. We then took the documents to another printing company (message me privately if you would like the name). This new company was so appalled by our story and the new companies customer service was SO SUPERIOR they stuffed, stamped and mailed the envelopes for us for FREE!!!!! We then provided them with several other printing jobs, including a banner which was less than half the price we were quoted at Pasadena Image Printing. They sent us the pdf proofs of everything and made several edits to each job without increasing our fee by a single penny. AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! We so wish we would have gone with them in the first place.. would have saved us all from so much unnecessary stress. Tips: I highly recommend taking your business elsewhere. But if your eyes are not opened from this review (and the other low one star reviews) then there is a parking lot in the back you can park instead of fighting for a spot on Colorado Blvd. in front of the store. I should've checked the two star reviews before working with this printshop, because it seems other customers have had a similar experience as mine.. I own a business just down the street from them and wanted to support my neighbors. I asked for a project quote for 4 printed 19x19 in prints on cardstock, full color. Via email, the owner quoted me: "Printing: $44.99." When my employee went to pick up the order, it was a whopping $198. When I brought the project quote of $44.99 to the owner's attention, he responded that I should've multiplied that by four. Setting aside the insane printing price, which in itself is a problem, I have to say: I've worked with dozens of professional printers who give me project quotes for jobs and this is the first time something like this has happened to me. I will not be going back to work with them and I encourage anyone who does to confirm and double-check quotes this business gives you so you don't have an uncomfortable surprise that their "quote" is very different from what they charge for a project. read more

This is my second time working with Pasadena Image Printers. Both times they were horrible. First time i went, the book cover i printed with them came out smaller than actual size and i couldn't use it. I had to meet a deadline, so i couldn't reprint with them either. This time, i had two perfect bind books that needed to be done. They charge $45 per book. Way too overpriced for the service. As i was in a bit of a rush, i figured they would do a really professional, clean job. Boy, was i wrong! The cut on one of my books was so sloppy, i can't even use it and present it to my client. The score lines are completely off, and the white cover has finger prints and stains. (It looks much worse in person than the photos) I'll never be coming back. I heard Copy Network in Glendale is much cheaper and way more professional. read more

This was my first time there. More than 20 minutes to have 12 one-page email attachments printed out! The young lady was friendly, but completely inept. I told her I was sending her 12 emails. My documents consisted of 11 paycheck stubs, and one letter. After a long wait for them to receive my emails, she brings me 12 pieces of paper. First, she gives me the letter and it's got all black lines and marks on it. She mumbled something about "this is how it came out." Completely worthless to me. (She ultimately reprinted it and it was fine, but why even hand me a totally unacceptable print-out?!) Then she hands me the other 11 items...she had printed 11 copies of ONE email. I explain to her that I'm printing 11 weeks of paycheck stubs. "12 emails, remember?" So she goes back to print the rest. After waiting longer, she delivers to me 11 pieces of paper. Three of them were duplicates. So now I have to re-email to her those three that were missing because she couldn't keep track of which of my emails she was printing?? Not good. I can't recommend this place at all. A job like mine shouldn't have taken more than 10 minutes. read more

They were able to print out an old wedding photo of my parents and create a beautiful canvas for me within a day. With only so much time, we found that PIP was the most helpful and resourceful option. Although we were initially misquoted for a 4x6 ft print, they made the entire process easy and convenient. I've sparingly used Pasadena Image Printing in the past for postcards and general prints. There were times when I needed a little help on the graphics because I didn't have the appropriate software for photo exporting and they helped me with no problem. In short, I definitely look forward to utilizing this service again in the near future. They have competitive pricing that proved to be useful for our budget. I appreciate how the staff were friendly and ready to assist. I ordered 8 photo prints to fit standard 4x6 inch frames for a few mother's day gifts. The photo images were printed as 4x5 and a quarter inches, hence when they were in the frame they had a 3/4 inch gap showing making the standard frame useless for the photo. I returned to the store to either have the photos reprinted to fit the frames or receive a refund for the purchase. The manager refused to do either and basically told "good luck" in resolving my problem. I asked for the owners phone number, was given the number which I called 2 and texted once, have yet to receive a call or response. Just thought this was not the best way to handle an inappropriately printed order and that the response received from the manager regarding resolving the inappropriate order was poor customer service. Honestly, now that I am looking at the other poor customer service Yelp reviews, I wish I had looked at them prior to going to Pasadena Image Printing. I will be going to Wallgreens for my future photo printing needs, they seem to understand the concept of printing photos that will fit in standard frames. read more
