We recently moved to Lodi and were looking for a UPS Store or something equivalent, where we could ship packages, send faxes, make copies and so on. We were thrilled to discover the new UPS Store on Kettleman, at the major intersection off of Lower Sacramento (in the Lowe's shopping center, between Round Table Pizza & AAA). First, the store itself is beautifully arranged and always impeccably clean, with a wide variety of convenience items easy to see and access: mailers, gift cards, etc. The store is always pleasantly air-conditioned during the hot summer months, prompting my wife and me to nickname it "the oasis of Lodi." You get free chocolates, mints, candies and pens, just for visiting. Above all, we've been blown away by the world-class customer service and the knowledgeability of store personnel. They truly go "the extra mile" to be helpful and the prices there really can't be beat. We since came to learn that there is a wide range of additional services that we were not originally aware of: color copies, passport photos, notary services, comb binding and high-quality full-color "printing," on state-of-the-art machines. Parking is a breeze and the store offers extended hours, including evenings and weekends. We've been so impressed with the UPS Store in Lodi that we decided to rent a mailbox there and use it for receiving most of our mail. Now we visit our "oasis" almost every day. If you're in need of any of the services described above, I could not recommend this establishment more highly. I use to think UPS was just for shipping regular packages. After seeing the pictures on the wall of what they have shipped, it think if you want to ship an elephant, they will figure out a way to do it. I ship packages and get colored printing regularly. Their staff is very good and helpful. This UPS store is more that just shipping. They have a large variety of other products as well. And if they don't have it, they are very helpful in directing you to other business that can help you. Excelent customer service. read more

I so wish that I had read these reviews before I ever entered that business! The employee(s) are obviously inexperienced and not professionally trained packers/movers. Also, either not the brightest tacks in the box and/or possibly stoned. Definitely slow, disorganized, and apathetic. Certainly, they are NOT into customers service. I packed the first whole set of China myself and mailed w/o mishap, (except the unwieldy box was delivered to my daughter's neighbor instead, in S.C....) I packed it, so this same store told me it couldn't be insured. So, since it supposedly wouldn't cost me anymore for them to wrap and ship it and therefore could be insured, I thought, "Great, save me time and easier on me, same cost!" Wrong! Because I was not in a rush ,I called after the first 3-4 days to check on paying for shipping.( I reiterated numerous times that I only wanted two large boxes, at a total of no more than $400 to be sent to the east coast and I would take anything back should something not fit. I clearly stated I wanted the stoneware packed and one China platter first and the rest could be fitted in as space allowed.) I received verbal confirmation every time that the employee I spoke to understood me. I asked the employee that waited on me if he didn't want to take a couple notes. He did not. Finally, 3rd week, I called once again, I was informed there were 3 large boxes now ready for shipping. I asked to speak w/the employee and then the manager and was told they'd both be in at 5p.m. The manager, Don Parker, started on the offensive immediately arguing that his employee packed everything perfectly although wouldn't validate my specific request for their service. Indeed, upon inspecting one of the enormous boxes, I found unbreakable objects wrapped in countless layers of bubble wrap and it became obvious this was a known managerial issue. I firmly restated MY request for service and would not pay for the unsolicited incompetent service, stating I fully intended for them to open every box. Mr. Parker's attitude and tone went from aggressive bullying controlling, "we're right/ you're wrong; basically, "what're YOU going to do about It???", to condescending, then placating wheeler-dealer to out of his way "nice", but I'd already seen his colors when he went out of his way nice at me for the customer walking through the door. He then offered magnanimously to send a small box of trinkets,( which would have tucked nicely into the 2nd extra large box), at his cost which somehow handily got tacked onto me as a "new fuel" charge. I declined insurance as far as I could tell YOU could drop the boxes from a two story building and w/all that bubble wrap nothing would break. Mr. Parker did remark for the newcomers' benefit, "You get all that bubble wrap and tape for free! And here's my card. Call me for the last tracking #. Oh, would you like help outw/that(40#) box?" This is no decent businessman. Expect hype, promises, non-compliance and possible extortion. The wait lines during normal hours are as bad or worse than P.O. ALWAYS less expensive to wrap your own and check rates on internet first. Do yourself a favor and avoid being treated disrespectfully. Check out other UPS outlets/stores. This is an independently run UPS outlet store. This doesn't deserve one star. read more

I had a terrible experience with the UPS Customer Service in an online live chat. They were very... unhelpful and left me quite frustrated with UPS as a whole. This is a poorly managed store. The owner cannot keep employees, lines are long, mail and packages are misplaced and lost. Packages are not scanned in correctly, (if they get scanned at all) mail is placed in the wrong mailboxes, and I have been given packages not addressed to me. And, the errors are never their fault. on my drive down from Vancouver Canada, i stopped in to this UPS store. i use quite often MILPITAS ups, which has a low star rating also, and i must say, your ups visit is what you make of it. DON let me use the customer computer to the internet, and a phone call out back to Canada. Great. and i got things done. that is what i want from a UPS store, not a kiss up and handshake, though the staff did help me out good, i was in the store twice. I hold a PO Box at the Lodi UPS Store for our wholesale wine business, and it has always been reasonable and reliable. It is especially useful for collecting shipments of wine samples so that I don't have to play tag with my UPS driver at home. In addition, I use the store for all my post office activities and notaries, because it is fast and convenient. I regularly recommend them to my friends and clients. read more

This place is TERRIBLE. I went to the UPS store before Christmas, not wanting to deal with the long lines and cranky postal workers at the post office. Instead of the wonderful customer service that UPS totes, I dealt with a man (who I later found out was the owner!) who provided the WORST service I have ever come across. He was rude, condescending and nasty. I wanted to send a package internationally. He told me that it was going to cost $170 for a 2 day delivery. Thinking that, because he mentioned it, it was my only option, I started to gather up my things to go to the post office, making a comment that I couldn't afford that. He held up his hand and sternly told me to let him finish. He lectured me like I was a little child in front of other customers about prices and what not. It was embarrassing! The worst part was when I called back 3 WEEKS LATER when my package hadn't arrived yet. Without informing me so, he shipped my package USPS instead of UPS. I told him on the phone that it would have been nice to have been informed of that. He cut me off, telling me that he did tell me and he was the owner and blah blah blah. He continued rambling on and on about my package and the prices, until I was so fed up with his condescending tone that I hung up on him. Listen, I can deal with a lot of rude people. I worked in customer service for over 2 years, so I understand dealing with the public and even people working during Christmas losing their cool a bit. But his rudeness went above and beyond being cranky. I will NEVER go back there and will encourage anyone that I know needing to ship a package to NOT GO THERE. read more

It's pretty hard to have this low of an average rating for a basic shipping store, but I see why. I was in the store today for 30 minutes. There were two people ahead of me when I arrived and the young associate was SLOW as molasses. It was literally the slowest worker I've seen in a while. So I waited, and I waited. After 20 minutes the supervisor came in. He had some of HIS wine that he was going to ship. When he arrived the younger associate said he (the supervisor) would help me in one second. Well instead of pitching in on the long line (which was now 6 people), the supervisor started packing up HIS wine. I asked him if he could check me out (I had two quick boxes to ship, no more than one minute) and his response was that he had "$1,000 of his wine that he needed to get out!" I then asked him "Well what's more important, your wine or your customers?" You'd have thought I'd called his momma names! He then flips out on me, his response "My wine is, Jack" (my name is not Jack), you can wait your ass for a minute" I then tell him that I've been waiting for 30+ minutes. His response "well hit the road asshole" This is the supervisor! He's an older man with a terrible, terrible comeover. I told him I was going to post on Yelp and he said "he didn't give a flying flip about Yelp." So I suggest we not use his service... I wasn't asking for anything much, just trying to ship two packages in a reasonable time and UPS was totally unable to do that. UPS damaged a professional trumpet I packed carefully and sent to a friend...the repair bill was $78. I had insured the trumpet but UPS refused to pay the repair bill and stiffed me $79. I've used this UPS store for years...and I even give them packing materials I don't need instead of throwing it away They've lost my business which is a drop in the bucket to them, so why do they care?.US Postal for me from now on! read more

Don and his staff always go beyond the call of duty. If you have a package to mail do not hesitate to go to The UPS Store. If there is a problem while tracking your package, notify them and they will do all they can to insure the package arrives to its destination. They are the BEST!!!! read more

Went in yesterday and the worker named Spencer seemed like he had Better things to do than to help me and other customers. When i called the manager he said some people are allowed to have bad days. This is the worst ups store I've ever been to. Spencer was the rudest employee I have ever encountered. He was rude and mean because he had to finger print me. As he let me know it's a job he hates. As I was waiting he continued to say I hate my life I hate finger printing. Then I talked to manager don he couldn't care less. He said maybe he is having a bad day!!! Was just in there today (04/12/17) and it's super packed full of people, it's umcofortably quiet, it stinks in there, and nobody was greeted when they walked in. No smile from the associate, no eye contact, when the phone rang there was no "excuse me just a moment" no "hi I'll be with you as soon as possible" no "so sorry for the wait", nothing. Normally I wouldn't be too bothered by this, BUT they have the NERVE to ask for tips? No, no tips for you. Already took this up with corporate and told them about all of the terrible experiences residents have been posting on YELP, along with a picture of their unapproved Tip container. the worst experience they had nerve to charge me to put 1 strip of clear tape on my package 50Cents to be exact. and arguing with me that they don't give it free. the owners before wouldn't have even thought about 1 strip of clear tape on a package they would of made sure it was all taped up for you get a grip there are dozens of other places to send out packages i come from stockton to go there cause the previous owners were so nice these people need and customer service class plus the man in front of me they charged him 12.00 for a cardboard box total rip off i will make sure i tell me friends in stockton and lodi about you lived here for over 35 years time to look else where you lost my buisness read more

I have used this store for years, and all of that was soured purely on the lack of professionalism by the owner, Don Parker. He lost a package I sent in May, which I can understand is out of his control. What is not though, is his ability to contact UPS, file a claim, and finally get me my refund check for the item. It took over 3 months for him to complete this simple task, not to mention I had to call him about every week after the first month and a half went by. He was totally unhelpful and even rude, claiming that it's "not his fault." Ignoring he also refused to contact me on any updates to my claim, also ignoring that my money was there for a week before I finally called and was told it had arrived, he tried to short change me. My refund was for $100. He gave me $92, which I then had to argue with the poor boy working there to get $99 of it. Don is a bad business man, a poor representative of UPS, and a crook. read more
