Sent off a present of Bicycle Stuff, that I bought at Performance Bicycle in Stockton ( www.yelp.com/biz/performance-bicycle-stockton#query:performance ), to my son in Las Vegas today through the Woodbridge Post Office. I boxed up the "stuff" in the now totally empty Chips Ahoy box that was full of Chocolate Chip Cookies purchased at Smart & Final ( www.yelp.com/biz/smart-and-final-lodi ).
I placed the Box, along with Scissors & Tape and Wrapping Paper in my Bicycle Grocery Shopping Cart and Biked over to Woodbridge thinking that the Flat Rate Priority Boxes, that you get for free from the USPS, would be cheaper to send than the container which I had.
There was no line, and there usually isn't unless it's Noon-Time or at closing time... I asked the Postal Clerk about using the Flat Rate Priority Boxes versus the Chips Ahoy Box. She exclaimed... "You can't cover such a cute box like that! That is so cute!" WTF! I thought to myself.... am I on Candid Camera or something? Is she on some kind of medication?
She weighed the Chips Ahoy Box and said that a Flat Rate Box starts at $10.70 and the weight of the box I had only came to $8.35. I expressed my concern that the Box originally contained Cookies and now I'm sending Bike Stuff... afraid that the Box might be too Fragile. She replied... "No Problem! We'll just place some extra tape around the box. ... Okay, I guess...
After I filled out the Priority Address Label to affix onto the Chips Ahoy Box, she said "You don't want to cover up that cute logo of a Chocolate Chip Cookie on the Box!" I said that Cookie looks kind of weird... ( static2.px.yelpcdn.com/bphoto/AARV_sJCGui0uIpkVBFviA/l )... When have you ever seen a Cookie with Teeth?
She wrapped the box up securely with that Priority Postal Tape trying not to cover up the pictures of the Cookies or the Logo on the Box.
As I was paying for all this... she went on to say... "Sending the Present in this Box says a lot about you as a person...". I thought to myself... GIVE ME A BREAK! Get me outta Here! This is getting Sickening! read more
