Places like this definitely are lucky they require a star for a review. We'll let me start with I walked in definitely was not greeted . Angie who is the reason for this complaint, unfortunately assisted me (can't say helped cause that sure didn't happen) continued to take my box for drop off I then had asked her just like I do any time I drop off at other locations for some help with taping the box up securely. She right away said that's a $2 charge and just continued to tape the box, mind you I had the slip that needed to go in the box out in the open but seeing as she didn't ask me anything but didn't hesitate to let me know of a charge for help with tape at a UPS store . So she had to re open the box and waste the tape I was so needed to be charged for then put the slip back in . Then when about to ring up on the computer a $2 charge to help me securely tape the box at a UPS LOCATION, then I asked her once again "So the $2 I'm paying for right now is for the tape she used " she said yes . I let her know that I was shocked that a charge like that for so little unnecessary & that I been to many other locations and never has anyone given me trouble to help me tape up a box that I am dropping off to them, her answer was simply they are privately owned so they work different. I definitely can tell but that's not a good thing. Workers like Angie sadly put a bad rep for a location in such a nice area . I will never go back unless it's to speak to the manager about this horrible interaction. read more

Customer service is terrible! Every time I have gone into this UPS store, I hope to have a more positive experience and each time I have been disappointed. I have used this location out of convenience, but after so many failed experiences I will now take my business elsewhere. The men that work here are unfriendly, lack professional skills, and motivation. They do not work efficiently and their store is extremely disorganized. I am business owner, and would not conduct my business the way that this owner does. Ups stores supposed to open at 8am. Been here for over half an hour and still not open. Unfortunately this is only ups store in town. Past visits to store have resulted in very horrible customer service from gentleman who appears to be owner or manager. Waste of time again! After the Christmas hustle is over, you'd expect a shop to service customers in a reasonable amount of time. Two workers and two customers in the store. It was a l-o-n-g wait as the owner was busy chatting up a friend, texting on his phone and ignoring customers, it would have been faster for me to walk my package to Chicago. These people can barely complete one task at a time. They have no business running a customer facing operation. UPS is a great service. These people are not representative of any quality work. I have been at this UPS Store since it opened in 2007. That means through its ups and downs , I have been a loyal customer. I opened my box there because I live in the country and people were stealing our mail. In February I wrote a review commending the new ownership. 6 months later I was informed about an addendum to my contract with additional fees. If a parcel is left for 2 days before pick up I will be charged based on size and weight a fee per day. I explained to the owner that I do not live in town and travel. He continued to say he doesn't have enough room to keep everyone's mail (maybe he had too many boxes) with the influx of things being shipped I understand his dilemma, but I already pay a large rental fee per month. I picked up 2 4x6 boxes and a record album. If he charged me $20 plus what I pay to rent the box that would have been $90 per month for things that take up less than a square foot. It's a little pricey for me...with no real solution for me but to tell me other people want my box I got the impression my business isn't valuable to him. When I got home I found out I did not receive 2 packages from him.. I went back and all he would say was he gave me everything he had a tag for he wouldn't even look at the tracking info. His employee overheard and said I know what she looking for and produced my packages. My question would be since I cannot come back in the next two days...would I be charged for storage even though he didn't give them to me originally and when I went back said he didn't have them? read more

These guys continue to impress. I've been in several times with just my thumb drive containing some docs I need printed and no hard copies. They've always helped me out with getting this printed in the write size, color and format. Last time we had a heck of a time getting my pdfs to print right and they helped me the whole time, finally printing up what I needed on their back room printer. Great service! read more

My husband and I went to this store today at 3:50. The sign on the door states the business is open until 4:00. We figured we had plenty of time as all we had to do was mail a packet of papers back to the VA. The clerk was just standing behind the counter and looked extremely annoyed to have customers. My husband explained what he needed and the clerk proceeded to then tell him that he had already closed the register so he couldn't do any transactions. WTF???? I realize it was 10 min before closing but this guy just cost the business money. We weren't the only person the clerk turned away either. Other people walked in after us with packages to send. I was in such disbelief and mad that I won't be using the ups store again. I'll just stick to USPS from now on. read more

Very poor attitude. My few interactions w the owner of all people have all been extremely sub par. I just called in a formal complaint with a similar experience as the other one star rating here. I don't expect to get 5 star treatment for taking care of postal needs, but never do I expect nor will tolerate the type of scum bag owner that runs that place. Other employees have been helpful, but DON the owner needs to learn a lesson is customer satisfaction, or he may end up pi$$ing off the wrong customer one day. read more

The absolute worst shipping store I have ever been in. After driving from out of town to meet my wife for a notary, there was a line out the door and only one worker. When I asked why, he said that the other worker had walked out. I asked for the owners number and explained the situation. His response? "Well thats too bad, you are just going to have to wait because I'm busy at my warehouse and there is nothing that can be done." How's that for customer service. The kid behind the counter was a saint for dealing with what he had to deal with and not walking out. I know I would have. read more

I left the store feeling like I'd been scolded for bothering to ask questions. I have used the Lodi UPS Store quite a bit over the past few years. Everything from office supplies, greeting cards, Business cards, t-shirts, moving boxes and shipping. They have always been very helpful and professional. They get busy at times, but always get to you in short order and have the lowest shipping rates in town. I have never had a problem there and always recommend them for a number of services. read more

All the negative reviews say the same thing and they are spot on! I used to use this location for shipping, but finally decided convenience is not worth supporting a business that I feel is unethical. EVERY time I used this location I was exposed to a new and sleezy tactic. Don the owner is an arrogant business man. His employees are generally slow and not very knowledgable about the shipping industry. Sense of urgency is not a job requirement. They act as though they are afraid of the owner. It seems as though he (Don) creates a hostile work environment. All this is my opinion, and obviously also a lot of other yelpers! Now on to the facts. They overcharge and participate in unethical business practices. They add a HUGE surcharge to USPS shipping fees, without telling the consumer. I have personally left this UPS store, headed directly to the post office. Shipped the item $14.00 less than the UPS store quoted me for USPS. I believe they do this so you will use UPS as the carrier. I have asked the employee directly how much they add to the USPS charge and he stuttered and said it is a small fee, but he couldn't give me the exact amount. Well it's more like double the charge, sometimes more, depending on size of item. They have a right to add whatever surcharge they want, they just need/should disclose the surcharge amount. I witnessed several customers ask for USPS charges, then ended up changing to UPS because it was cheaper. When in reality USPS would have been much cheaper. Again, I don't care, sometimes my time is worth the extra money. But let me make that decision, don't deceive me. They also do not use the most cost effective package to ship. I had a clothing item, that would easily fit into a UPS envelope, yet they wanted to put it in a box. Boxes are more expensive to ship than an overnight envelope and also not free. When I asked for a free UPS envelope they were not happy and the employee looked kind of scared he was giving me an envelope. I will no longer use this store, due to their ethics. I live within a block, yet drive to PostalAnnex on Hutchins for all my shipping needs. They are amazing. Honest, fast and very efficient. I have been to the Lodi UPS store when the owner was not there, and have had good experience. However when I had gone there with my uncle for a notary, I have had to deal with the owner and I must say, the experience was far from desirable. The owner is extremely rude and has a cocky attitude. He refused to notarize my uncle's documents as he refused to acknowledge my uncle's passport from an another country as a valid ID. Even though, anyone who has finished 5th grade, knows that Passport is a valid ID no matter where you go, he wanted a US passport from my Uncle. When we informed him that my Uncle was here in the country on a visit and showed him the valid stamp in his foreign passport, he still refused to consider it as an ID. Either the owner must be incredibly stupid or a racist. However he also had informed us that the cost of notarizing a document was $20 when by law they are not supposed to charge more than $10. He made this disclosure before he viewed my Uncle's passport. If anyone needed notarization of documents, I would rather go to the USPS annex on Hutchins, where the owner is a friendly young guy with no prejudices to people from other countries. read more

They don't acknowledge when people enter the store, they are slow, and unprofessional. The store is always messy and cluttered. Terrible customer service and very unprofessional!!! I've gone in there several times now and I've continued to get poor service.

I've called three times and a kid answered the phone saying he doesn't know what to do can you call in a hour. I called back a hour later, same kid and says this is Austin and then my fiancé spoke with him, he acted like it was his personal phone and had no idea what we were talking about when asked him about a package that was taken there. Said I don't know what you are talking about, and then we asked this is the UPS store right? Then he hung up. Today I called and the owner answered I said Hi a package of mine was sent to your store but we aren't sure how big it is, if I give you the package number can you tell me the size of the package? He then said no I can't tell you that that impossible. I said it's at your store could you just look at the box? He then said Oh it's at my store? Well I don't know what to tell you we are understaffed and I've got a line out the door here so you can sit on hold till I'm done here. All said in a rude tone and I just said never mind sir and hung up. Ridiculous I only hope that I never I have to go there again. They should be shut down. read more

Do not get your passport photos taken here! I had mine and my kids taken here. Sent in my passport for renewal and the photo was rejected. The photo isn't cut to precise 2" size and is discolored which doesn't show the white background required. I could take a better picture at home. read more

Personally, I've always liked this place and had good experiences at this location until today. Don, was working alone, which I get it. I assumed "things happen" being the understanding person that I am. As in here standing in line, he started "bragging" to the guy in the front of the line about going from 14 to 4 employees because "they deserved it". Who does that? Totally unprofessional. This store deserves a 0 star rating. I waited in a long line this morning to receive a passport picture only to find out it was wrongly proportioned once at the post office. I then went back to the store to receive a refund.. the least they could do for wasting my time. I was then denied this because a manager (not present) is the only person who can approve refunds. This store should train their workers right, and always have a manager present if they're going to have policies like such. read more

The owner is extremely rude and it shows that his 10 other businesses are far more important to him. He is very mean to his employees in front of customers. They lost our mail several times including our personal checks and the bank had to resend them 3 times. We got them finally because we got a real post office box with usps. It is sad that UPS does nothing about this. read more

I stopped by to drop off two items and was barely acknowledged by the young man working. I was the only customer in the store and he spent 5 minutes typing into a laptop while I waited. Over the course of the next 10 minutes 5 more customers came in and he still hadn't walked over to the counter. At some point a second employee came in and asked what he was doing and he said he was doing his own fingerprints. The second employee then walked into the back of the store. When the first employee finally acknowledged us the customer service was minimal at best. I would not recommend this location. read more

If you can go to another location you need to. I went to this UPS store on 05/24/19 at around 10:00 am and there was only one employee working. He was helping a woman scan a document and then he had to help her send an email with the attachment. The line continued to grow and it was already out the door. At around 10:15 am another employee showed up and helped one customer and then started putting labels on packages that had been dropped off. WHERE IS THE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Put labels on packages when it is slow. It took me 40 minutes to just drop off a package. The two young men working in this store could care less about the customers. I will never go back and I recommend that everyone find a different place to drop off UPS items. read more

Terrible customer service! I had two packages that were never scanned into the UPS system. There was a line out the door and one employee trying to do everything. This is common for this store. I was instructed to leave my pre-paid packages since the guy was overwhelmed with customers. When there was no tracking activity by the next day (Amazon sends notifications as soon as the package is scanned as on it's way), I called the store. The employee helping me was so slow and was complaining about how tired he was. After a very long hold, he then claimed to have checked all packages that were still in the store, and mine were not there. He also claimed to have checked the manifest for ALL outgoing packages the day I dropped mine off. There was NO record of them being left there. I asked for the owner to call me, as the employee stated that they have had packages stolen in the past. He said the owner was at the Stockton store and he would relay the message. 2 days have passed and the owner couldn't be bothered to return my call. I had left another message stating that if I did not hear back by end of the next day, I would file a theft report and they could check the security footage to see who took them. I hadn't considered theft until their employee mentioned it. Hmm...rather suspicious that it could happen if they actually put boxes behind the counter with employees. I also called UPS to file an inquiry. Miraculously, my "nowhere to be found" packages were scanned in Stockton 30 hours after being left at their store. UPS had not picked up yet that day, so there is no reason they should have no record of it. Nor should they have sat there and not gone out until the next evening. I was told today on the phone that their employee probably didn't really check for it. Unacceptable and unprofessional. read more
