Terrible Customer Service and Unprofessional!! I used this UPS Store last year when I was in California to ship some wine back. Since I was once again in California doing some wine tasting, I thought I could do the same thing. Unfortunately, they were closed on Monday (Labor Day). So Tuesday morning, I showed up at 8 am. Not only does their website state they open at 8 am, but so does the sign on their door. There were already 2 people waiting at that point and one of the guys said that "they never open on time." GREAT! I had a plane to catch in Sacramento and was on a very tight schedule. By 8:45, no one had showed up and I had to leave to catch my plane. I kept phoning the number, thinking there would be an answering machine or something. There was nothing. Completely unacceptable. This is NOT how you run a business. Fortunately, I found another place that was capable of shipping wine and they will get my business from this point forward. If I could give 0 stars I would. I was traveling when a signature required package was delivered to my home and I paid to have it sent to this store. I received an email on June 16, 2021 that my package would be sent back to the sender on June 18, 2021 if i didn't pick it up on that date, however I wasn't returning home until June 20. I called this UPS store on June 17, 2021 at 3:11 pm and spoke to a in-store representative that informed me that it was an access point transfer and they would hold the package until the 20th. While en route home on June 19, I received an email from UPS stating my package was returned to the sender. Immediately upon landing on the 19th for my connecting flight to Sacramento I called the store to confirm this was an error in light of the information I received from a store representative on June 17. I was informed that the package was returned to the senders so that the expiry date as noted on the June 16 email. The store representative identified himself as the store owner and spent the next 5 minutes talking over me and stating that UPS policy states when they return the package. Once I could get a word in edgewise, I asked a simple question, "do you believe I'm lying?" He responded no and his employee was have given incorrect information. He then stated that he doesn't make any money storing packages, told me to call corporate and hung up on me. USE THIS STORE AT YOUR OWN RISK. Oh, and if the owner wishes to post a rebuttal to my post, please kindly ask the female employee working on June 17 at 3:11 pm why those chose to misinform a customer? Very poor customer service. I called close to closing and was told the store was open until 4:00. I let the employee know that I'd be there in 5 minutes to mail a package. The package was already boxed and addressed - just needed postage. I arrived at 3:55, and was told it was too late - the store was closed! I told him I had just talked to him on the phone and had let him know I was on my way, and he had no response.... He never made eye contact and moved slowly about the store as he went through his closing routine. No apology or suggestion of other stores that might still be open. Bad customer service, the guy working there last night was very rude to a customer. The customer asked a question and the employee rudely answers back. As for me, he told me a price, and I was like woah! That expensive, and I asked him, is there anyway we can make this cheaper? This place sucks!! I needed a place to accept my packages so I paid extra for the service to get notified when they arrive. I usually get notified a day or two later and the best part is the carrier notifies us the package has been delivered and the people at the store can't find the package. And this happens all the time. This time I'm calling UPS directly to file a complaint. And then I'm going to look for a location to open a competing location that doesn't have its head up its ass. read more

This store should not be operating the Live Scan service, not all of the employees know how to operate the equipment. Also, when a mistake was done on their behalf I was refused a new submittal free of charge. I was spoken to in a very rude manner and I was even told in a condescending way, that I would need an email from the FBI in order to get the prints re-done. He wouldn't even look at the email I received, my SSN was on the form but placed in the incorrect line. I know for a fact all of the information needs to be typed in but I was never asked to look it over when they were submitted. Please train your staff or don't offer services that can't be properly done. read more

Dropped off for packaging on Dec 26th and specifically asked for shipment to arrive no later than New Years Eve. Didn't care what it cost. Because of an error by an employee, shipment didn't even leave until the 29th and not arriving until Jan 4 !!! If you need it on time I would take it elsewhere. I definitely will !! read more

The short: Because nobody really wants to mess with the post office The long: After my mother in law came out for a visit she decided that she didn't want to bother with her luggage on her trip home so left it behind to be shipped to her house. Well there was no way I was shipping a suitcase with the post office so I dropped it off at the UPS store. When I arrived there was a line of 5-6 people and only 2 employees working. They were moving at about the speed of growing grass to get customers out of there which was a little annoying. Once I got up to the front I gave them the info of where the shipment was going and they sold me the box and other supplies to get everything on the way. I paid my tab and got out before the rest of the line really got upset with the slow service. What works: Ship, pack, and etc all in one stop. What to improve: Make an effort to look like you are working with a sense of urgency. read more

One of the great things about this store, is that Don contributed to the Tom Kettleman Facebook group by selling Tom Kettleman t-shirts in his own store. Tom Kettleman was a turkey that was beloved by many in Lodi, California. Now, let's get to the nitty gritty of what this website is for. I bought a Shark vacuum cleaner from shopping network channel. The young gentleman who was at the store, took his time to help me with getting the vacuum back in the box, a Tetris pro, if you will. He did not charge extra for his time with packaging and was very upbeat and determined. Don, he's a good guy. He strikes me as someone who's serious about keeping his business running but at the same time he's very respectful and helpful. He keeps his business in tip top shape (clean and organized). Two years I ago, I found this store and used it as a place to drop off my pre-paid packages (from ups.com). The owner was always courteous and never made me feel like "less of a customer" even though he technically wasn't making any money off me. A few times I could not print my own label, so I shipped through the store. I learned the store rate was better than I could get myself and the business relationship began. The store is a great alternative to avoiding lines at the Post Office or for someone like me that can never get there before closing time without taking time from work. Today, I not only use the Lodi UPS Store for all my shipping needs (UPS and USPS) but I also subscribe to their mailbox service. I run two home based businesses in addition to my "real" job. I love the piece of mind knowing my customer's orders are safe at UPS, rather than on my porch unattended, ready for someone to steal. I receive a good number packages, so I'm in the store at least once or twice a week, if not more. I've never experienced or witnessed any of the staff exhibit a poor attitude or provide an bad experience. Instead, the customer's are warmly greeted and each interaction provided the time and attention everyone deserves. I would like to also recognize young adults who work at the Lodi UPS Store. Having worked at a local grocery store myself in my younger days, I know how challenging it can be to dispel the myth that young people "don't care and don't have a good work ethic". I've seen this happen at other stores in town, but not here. There are many times I go into the store and the owners are not there and the store is run by the young guys. I bring this up because I remember think back to my younger days and some of the crazy stuff that occurred while us kids were "running the store" and the manager was away in the office. I remember a specific instance when I was in the store getting mail out of my box and a elder customer was at the counter. The customer did not understand a UPS shipping policy. The young man at the counter had explained the situation a few times already, but the customer did not understand. Instead of become upset and giving the customer and attitude, he called for the assistance of his co-worker to assist the customers waiting in line so that he could explain the policy in greater detail. The confusion was ultimately cleared up. Thank you Don, Christine and guys. Called to ask about the process for live-scan. They said I could walk in. I came in after work and waited. Only 2 people working but one of the workers kept taking customers behind me. Then he asked if I needed help. Apparently I was waiting in line for fun I asked who did the live-scan and he pointed to the other guy. When he finished helping another customer he asked to see my form. I handed it to him and he walked to a computer and walked right back and tossed my paper on the counter and said I didn't have a number associated with my request. I asked how I would obtain that and he said, I don't know but I can't do your live-scan without it. Then proceeded to walk away. I replied that I had called earlier to ask what all I needed and that information would have been nice to know before, which is why I called to check earlier in the day. He replied it wasn't his problem that he can't do it without the number. Maybe if they had educated workers who genuinely want to help customers, it would be a better store. If someone is qualified to do the live-scan, they should have all of that information to share to prepare a customer. Think of your customers, without them you'll have a failing business. read more

I went to the UPS store on Kettleman and Lower Sacramento yesterday to send a fax for my Mother. Sadly to say, the store was in complete disarray! I mean it was very dirty and messy just NASTY!!! The associate who helped me was polite but, wasn't able to get the fax machine to work. He said something to the owner..who didn't seam to care that the fax machine wasn't working. Especially during this COVID19 Pandemic this store should be very clean and welcoming....I'd give this place a big fat ZERO! I will never step foot in this Nasty Business establishment again. So I needed a document notarized, got online and scheduled an appointment for one day later since there was no available appointments. Made sure to be on time, when we get there the desk attendant called someone else and I could hear the guy on the phone say I can't be there until 11. Our appointment was at 10:30. I asked the attendant what the problem was and he said they were short staffed. I said, doesn't the guy on the phone look to see what appointments are scheduled so he could be there at that time. He said no. I then told him, what is the use of scheduling appointments if you do not have someone available. He said that no one monitors the online system. So we left and went down the street to another shipping store. I hope the guy came in at 11 and wasted his time just like he wasted my time. I would give fewer stars if I could. Horrible , my package was tracked by US Postal and signed as delivered by UPS employees. UPS has no record of the parcel because the employees failed to scan it into the system. Don Parker provides only excuses and tries to blame poor employees, lost paperwork, remodeling, bad US Postal Service, etc. This is a financial loss to me. He should be accountable for his business, resolve the issue and refund the loss. This is what customer service is about, stand behind your business and build quality. Don't hide behind the counter and hope the money keeps rolling in. The name United Parcel Service (UPS) will have an unprofessional name as a result of Don Parker's lack of action concerning customers. I have been in here twice (months apart) and both times the same person has helped me. An older man with white hair and a beard. He is an example of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I've heard him talk to not only me, but other people in line and he is SO rude for absolutely no reason. And both times I've come in he's been complaining to the person in front of me about something. When he is asked a question, he gives a loud rude/sarcastic answer.
