Ive never been here to do anything personally. Strictly for work. If I did, I'd be broke. This place wants an arm a leg and your first born. Don't say I didn't warn you. Beyond that, the staff to a person is super friendly, they do all the work for you (and collect handsomely for it), and they are reliable. I prefer this place because it is closer than any FedEx option and they do a lot more for you. If you want a dependable place to handle your shipping needs, and have a corporate credit card, this is your best option. It's like a shopping trip to Macy's compared to your local post office, and you won't want to pull your hair out when leaving. I went to this UPS store a week ago to ship meds.... They told me the delivery date. Now there saying they will be a week late. I talke with the national office and went to this local store directly. I want then to send them via air and all they say is sorry. You can't go without medication for a week. This could put him in the hospital and all I get is sorry and no help. read more

Never again. These guys are ripping off customers left and right, giving UPS a bad name, and they're horribly rude to top it all off. Today I e-mailed their address (clearly posted on the UPS website) and asked to have 4 attached documents printed. When I stopped in to pick up the print job, I was first told "we don't usually open e-mails." Excuse me? Is this 2012? The frowning older man who wouldn't make eye contact with me then proceeded to CHARGE ME $3 PER FILE just to OPEN the documents. This does not include printing, mind you. I was charged $12 to open 4 files--that's $3 per mouse click. I was not previously informed of this fee, and when I complained, I was basically told "too bad." I have no clue whatsoever why I found it OK to fork over my credit card and pay a total of $20 to have a few black and white pages printed, but I did. I wish I would have left the paper on the counter and walked out. This UPS store is a far, far cry from the friendly, reasonable one I usually go to in North Center, where they have never once charged me to open a file before printing it ??!!!?). Sorry. $3 to print 1 page of 8x11, if you have them do it in store ( online it's .60 cents. The online portal was t working. And then they tell me they don't ship USPS which it says they do on the website. Total scam as always with these stores. Support your local Usps or go to an actual ups corporate store. I sell items online and now this is cutting in to my profit during covid times. Ok I get it, tape costs money. But how many people walk in with a labeled package that needs to be taped, how much tape will you go through? In the course of a year how much would it really cost? The guy that helped me was rude and sarcastic! I simply stated that it was getting busy and he said with a rude condescending tone "it is the holidays ...duh!" And looked over at his coworker, whom didn't participate in his unprofessional attitude! The guy was Asian American I believe I don't get his name...I should have. This particular UPS location is convenient to Lakeview/Uptown and provides parking. I had to move from Chicago to Atlanta after cultivating items for almost 5 years. Everything needed to be shipped out as flying was my mode of transport. Dylan (Store Manager) and Chris were amazingly helpful. Dylan not only worked to get me the best pricing on shipping but went above and beyond by helping get the items from my car. He even stayed past his shift to make sure I was taken care of. I recently moved from Chicago to Los Angeles, which meant I needed to ship my computer & peripherals cross county. Based upon the reviews here and the close proximity to my apt., I chose this UPS Store location. Things became hectic and I ended up having to stop in on my way to the airport only to find that it would take 30-40 minutes to pack and ship everything. I informed the staff of my need to hurry and they were extremely accommodating. They carefully packed everything in about 25 minutes and even came outside (I'd ducked out for a smoke) as soon as they were done, so that I could pay & be on my way ASAP. The cost was a bit higher than I expected ($107 for CPU, flatscreen monitor, cables, & peripherals w/o insurance), but they gave me the best deal possible. I can't say enough about how great the people are at this UPS store. Go in sometime and stay for a minute, they'll talk with you and everyone else who comes in (remembering everyone by name!) They are SO friendly and go way out of their way to make sure everyone is satisfied with their experience. We've had a box here for years, and we consider it a no brainer; we don't have to worry about packages ever being stolen or lost . Anytime we have a problem, they bend over backwards to help us out. On Friday, I was greeted by a lovely pink haired lady named Britney. Usually, when I go to this location. it's these two gentlemen. The employees there are always incredibly polite. I have been coming to this UPS for a few months now. They always double check and make sure my packages are secured. The best customer service by Far. This UPS Store is by far the best UPS Store I've ever visited. It's my old neighborhood UPS Store for the last 5 years in Chicago. The staff members, especially Dylan and another young guy with dark curly hair and glasses, are always friendly, polite, helpful and quick. They all know me by first name. Only reason why I gave them two stars is because customer service wasn't bad. The prices, however, are horrendous. All I wanted to ship was a magazine and a few pieces of paper: $15. Seriously? I asked the clerk to explain why something so light could cost so much and although he was polite, his explanation did not make sense, so I took my business elsewhere. First he suggested a box over an envelope which of course meant packing material was also necessary. The materials he suggested plus their weight in total cost just over $9. Lee was SUPER helpful with a package delivery issue I had. A package that was supposed to go to Seattle ended up getting delivered to an address close by this The UPS Store. When I called from another state and explained the situation, Lee was willing to help me get it sorted out right away. They picked up the package at the near by location, checked it over to make sure it could be reshipped, and put a corrected shipping label on it for me. All that service in under 2 hours! And on a Monday, no less! read more

The staff here is extremely helpful, and they go out of their way to make your life easier. I opened a mail box at this location for a company based out of state who had not yet staffed their office in Chicago. UPS were able to collect all the mail for this company and once a month, ship it all off to the mail HQ. They even offered to sort through the mail and not ship the obvious junk mail, since the company would be charged by the weight of the shipment of this monthly package. Hurrah! read more

I asked for stamps and they took my packages and say "they would take care of it" then I was charged almost 4 dollars for each package that would have sent with two stamps on it! When I called back to check Dylan kept saying things like "you pay for the convenience at ups". Very rude and I recommend going to another store where you get what you ask for. read more

TL:DR - Piece of artwork destroyed, UPS Store and UPS corporate finger point, cite policy and refuse any refund. Let me start with the positive: everyone in this store was cordial and polite throughout my experience. Unfortunately, that can't make up for the experience I had with UPS Store protocol. More than anything, let this serve as a cautionary tale so that no one else gets into the bureaucratic nightmare that is their damage/insurance policies. I sold a piece of collectible artwork on ebay, securely packed it in a double walled tube and shipped it from the store. I asked at the time of purchasing postage to make sure the insurance would cover anything that might happen in transit. I was told it was covered, not to worry, and that if anything happens, the store will handle the refund process following with UPS corporate. Fast forward, tube arrived at my buyer's home looking like someone lit dynamite inside it. That's no one's fault at the UPS Store, obviously, but then when I circle back to the store, I'm immediately met with a response of "Oh, a shipping tube? Well, just so you know, unless we pack it here, shipping tubes normally aren't covered by our damaged goods policies because the regulation is 2" of coverage on all sides of the item". That would have been great to know when I first asked. I still submit a claim and was notified the tube would be shipped back and inspected at the store by a UPS representative. I found out later that it was shipped back with the outer tube completely gone, inner tube crushed, both end caps missing and the paper & print hanging out. So, as you might have guessed, they deemed my packing insufficient for coverage, declined to pay the $180 value of the destroyed print and declined to refund the shipping cost. Nothing to appeal, no recourse. Both the store and corporate said I needed to speak to the other party. That "we'll handle it for you" policy sounded so nice initially, but ended up being the conversation-ender for the store when they said they'd done everything they could, and the policy was the reason UPS corporate said they couldn't talk to me directly about it. Needless to say, USPS has become my preferred courier for anything of value. read more

They can ship your item off good but they rip you off-I hate it when I run out of stamps b/c I have to go here- Just today I had 2 identical cards but in different colored envelopes, same weight-These cards didn't have the "additional postage" on it like some of the other cards I buy-When I use a regular stamp these cards get to their destination with no trouble, but when I take them to this place I get such BS- Today I was told that one weighed more than they other, pretty amazing when they were the same card and no inserts in either one-So I got charged $1.08 to send out a regular card and the other $.55- I wasn't going to argue with them, told them they have to make money somehow but I know the card shouldn't cost me $1.08 to send, I use regular postage all the time and they get delivered-Now I could see if I had a GC or pictures in the card but nothing was in there at all- This is the 3rd time they have done this to me, so that is a strikeout for me-Won't be going back, will always buy stamps- read more

Would give this place 0 stars if I could. Called into the store when I had an Amazon return. Told the person i ran out of ink does it cost to print a label.. he said no just show the code in my phone. When I got there the one guy went to do what I went there for... when another guy walks up and says no you have to pay to have a label printed.. I said that was ridiculous. So i left, went bought a ink cartridge and ended up doing it myself. When I returned back to drop off package I expressed my thought that this was ridiculous situation and should have never had to do that. They should have been truthful on the phone. Then some purple haired obviously not professional slob of an attendant told me that I was free to use another store if I was not happy there. At which point I told her to shut her mouth that was no a good customer service move. To which the first guy who started this whole thing in the first place call the cops saying I was irate. In my defence I was loud but they were just not professional enough to handle this type of service. Just an fyi there is another store on Southport I will be trying next time.. read more

I don't have a printer home, and I went to the UPS store (3712 N Broadway, Chicago IL 60613) to have my shipping label printed out and taped to the package. The store owner, Maynard Cheris, is clearly insane. Printing out the label costs $3.15 because "opening a file costs $3" and printing a page is $0.15. I still cannot comprehend how a click of the mouse costs $3. Ten such clicks and you can buy a cheap printer! Taping the label to package costs another $1 which is like one third of the price of the whole tape roll. Basically your extra charges for these 'services' amount to half the price of the shipping itself. Predatory prices like that send a "F@$K YOU" message to the customer. I used to live south of downtown, Hyde Park, and the UPS store there is stellar - the employees were eager to do the extra work instead of me and I was never charged for TAPE! I have nothing against the employees at the store, they possess the minimally required courtesy. What concerns me is that the owner obviously has no idea that a successful UPS store should SERVE its customers not take advantage of the fact there's no cheap printing around and ROB them! Next time, if I have a choice, I would go to the FEDEX store on Southport where the staff will print my label and tape it for FREE as it should be! This UPS store can kiss my money goodbye! Major RIP OFF and Lee, the manager, when I called made me never want to go back to this place. They double the price on USPS shipping and when I asked Lee if they up charge on UPS products as well he said No. My response so if I go to UPS.com and enter the package weight and dimensions I will come up with the same price you all quoted. Lee's response "well they may be cheaper" ... leading me to believe they do up charge. Worst ever, I'll just use this place for drop off receipts from now on but never ship anything from here especially since it took just as long to deal with them as going to the post office and waiting in line. The person took 15 minutes to create a USPS label. Post Office about 2 minutes max to complete a single package shipment transaction. read more

One-stop shopping for your shipping needs. I've faxed some things a couple of times here - it may be $2 a page (free cover page, with they provide), but can't beat the convenience. Also mailed my tax forms from here - saved me a trip to the much farther away post office. Friendly employees who take care of you quickly. There's parking, and I honestly don't know how the prices compare to other similar establishments. But since I don't have a fax machine, this place was a life saver for me a couple of times during my job hunt. read more
