Very reliable. It probably shipped 40 packages out from here, I've always had a great experience. They typically ship within 24 hours after the drop off, because FedEx will scan them at that time. I've never had a package get lost. Great location. read more

They used to be good. Then Bob took sole ownership and has an attitude problem. We had a confrontation and I thought we resolved it, but he just sent my packages to the wrong clients. I question if he did this on purpose. If my client wasn't honest it would have put me $600 in the hole. He obviously isn't trustworthy. read more

Be warned: this is a full-service postal and shipping destination, which means it will cost you a pretty penny (i.e., multiple dead Presidents) to have your baubles bubble-wrapped *to death* and shipped at a premium. The two guys who run the place are very nice, all right, for the most part, if they want to be. If you have things shipped to you (e.g., from Amazon) and save your boxes and air pillows, etc., consider packing your own shipment and shipping it off via USPS or UPS at their respective shipping posts of origin. You might save on some packing supplies and money (and maybe help reduce waste). If you have no time and all the money in the world to burn, by all means go to Global. read more

Got mail? You could take it to the US post office for some chi-town attitude, poor service, long lines, and a general depressed atmosphere. Or, you can take it to Global Shipping where you will be treated well by people who enjoy what they are doing. Two brothers run the shop. They are polite, happy, and helpful with any questions or concerns I have ever had. On the busiest of days the line is still shorter than the post office on the best of days. They will carefully package your items to be shipped if you haven't already. They have all the supplies to box just about anything of any size. I haven't had anything but smooth sailing while doing business here. I also like the small business feel where you get a higher attention to detail combined with one taking pride in what they do. wow this guys a little bit rude. and while I understand, because he cut me off, very bluntly to let me know that he gets a lot of these calls, that may be it can be frustrating. However, Customer Service is everything and as a shop owner, not just on Etsy, but in real life with a brick and mortar I would never treat any customer like that. Great place to ship your pants...or whatever you need to send. This is a mom and pop operation--actually, it's a brother and brother operation--and the difference between doing business with them and those godawful chains is night and day. They actually care about your business and they take the time to ship things the right way. I work at a nearby business that happens to have a lot of forgetful out of town customers. We trust Global to handle all of these lost & found shipping jobs. They've packed and shipped everything from dinky phone chargers to diamond rings and laptops. Everything--literally dozens and dozens of shipments--arrived on time and in perfect condition. A couple of months ago, I had to do a personal shipment on my day off, so I went to a UPS Store that's a little closer to my house. My head almost exploded with all of the hoop jumping and grimacing faces in that place. No more! Use the Global guys! read more

I walked into this store in an effort to support a local business instead of heading to a big chain shipping shop. The guy running this place is so friendly, and so helpful! One time, all I needed was the right box to package something at home, and when I went to pay with a credit card, he told me not to worry about it and just remind him to tack on the cost of the box next time I was in there (which I did!). Love this place and love the two brothers who own and run it!! We've all been there.......shipping things can be confusing and a hassle.....so many choices, so many prices and lots n' lots of bad customer service. One of the times I went in to send a package and tried to pay with my check card he said I could just come in with cash later to cover it. I would HIGHLY recommend Global Posting and Shipping to anyone who is tired of dealing with apathetic employees at FedEx, UPS, and the USPS. I drove all the way from Hyde Park just to ship from Global because of the terrible and degenerate attitude of the employees at my local CORPORATE shipping center, and I would drive twice the distance AGAIN just to ship my stuff here. Nicest people ! They come out to my car and take my package and then bring me the receipt. I no longer have to ask them to do this as I am handicapped and getting in and out of my car is difficult. They recognize my wave maybe? I used them for shipping an expensive piece of jewelry for repair overseas. Not cheap but they knew how to do . Simple overnight packages are done so easily. Global Postal Shipping has incredible service- For a second, I thought I was in a time warp, in a small town, where everybody knows your name. After one too many rude experiences at the US Postal Service, I decided to check out a small shipping store in Old Town. When I walked into the store I saw a counter, boxes, envelopes, packing materials... it seems that they actually do shipping and they do it well. It doesn't hurt that the two owners are brothers, good looking and incredibly hilarious. While I was waiting in line, there was an older women, in her 60's standing at the counter. While one of the brothers was helping her, the woman was telling stories about her niece. The two were talking like old friends. I have gone back many times now, never a problem. I have also learned that the owners know many of their customers by name, including mine. This is refreshing! read more

These guys are the best. I come in here regularly to ship things (online purchases I'm returning and business stuff) and they are always just the NICEST people ever. When I had an issue with my work laptop they helped me out and even got on the phone with my company's IT department to discuss shipping my laptop back to my company (since my IT guy was totally clueless). I would much rather give these guys my money than go to the Post Office (worst experience EVER with the post office bozos) or FedEx or UPS. Trust me if you have anything at all to ship go to the brothers at Global Postal and Shipping. If your preference is for crappy customer service, and lost or damaged goods, go to the post office or FedEx or UPS. This place is awesome. The friendly, efficient service is enough to make me travel across town instead of using the UPS store two blocks from my house. For instance, the owner was boxing up multiple items for a customer in front of me and noticed that I just had one thing, already in a box, labeled, and ready to ship. I have been using these guys for quite a few years now, and I use them regularly, and I have not experienced a single problem, not even a little glitch. The service is incredibly friendly, and their professionalism is over the top. The business is run by two brothers who share the responsibilities to provide seamless packing and shipping services, and always with a sincere smile and genuine warmth. They actually care about their customers, and their needs. Every package I have sent from them has reached its destination in perfect condition, and on occasion, I have sent sensitive business correspondence and fragile items. I can trust them sending my valuable items and sensitive documents anywhere, without the slightest concern that they will be lost in transit, or damaged during shipping. I live very near this location, and find it extraordinarily convenient, but even if I lived farther away, I would still use them as my go-to shipping store. Their manner is comforting, and they know exactly what they are doing, so they don't waste your time preparing a shipment.
