I had a very frustrating experience at this The UPS Store location. I received an email the day prior stating I had a package ready for pickup. When I arrived, the employee barely acknowledged me, asked for my ID, and had me sign for the package before even confirming it was available. After that, I was told there was "no package," and then repeatedly told I must have already picked it up--despite showing the email I received the day before. Instead of investigating further, the employee became visibly irritated, rolled her eyes, and suggested that I should have checked tracking myself--as if I have access to their internal system. At no point did she take ownership of what was clearly a breakdown in their process. When I asked for a manager, I was told (rather dismissively) that one wouldn't be available until Monday. Between the dismissive attitude, lack of accountability, and being made to feel like I was at fault for their system issue, this was a poor customer experience from start to finish. To make matters worse, access to this location is currently difficult due to surrounding street closures--making the trip even more frustrating. I've since changed my package pickup location and will not be returning. read more

I'm writing about my experiences at the UPS Store #4237 at 1235 W. Clybourn Ave., Suite A, Chicago. (intersection of Division and Clybourn) I needed help finding boxes that would correctly fit the contents being mailed. Two of the staff- Aakush and Kevin were extremely helpful. They found the correct boxes, then provided the cost of mailing the packages - offering a range of prices determined by the speed of the delivery. They could not have been more courteous and well-informed. I've brought packages here before and have been impressed by the courtesy and knowledge of this team. They are focused on fulfilling the needs of their customers. As I was leaving the store, I wished them good luck in having a great "end-of-the-year rush" as packages will be mailed for the holidays. I promised to tell my neighbors and friends about my experience there, and encourage them to visit Store #4237 in the Old Town Square Shopping Center. Stay away from this place! Employees seem mad all the time, rude to customers and they don't seem to care at all. This place used to be the best years ago. It was friendy, clean and made customers happy. They would hold my packages while I was on vacation, and I was also able to drop off my other usps packages there as well. Then about two years ago it became horrible. The weed smell is constant. It is so high I am not able to stay inside more than a minute. I forgot the label one time and instead of carrying a large box back I decided to pay. I was shocked that for them to just print the already made label was $4. I used other places but no one has ever charged me more than $1 to print a piece of paper. They also stopped services with usps and for that reason I no longer use them. It's a shame. They have parking which is convenient, and suggest using them just for dropping off packages with labels on them already. Any other services the prices will be 3x than any other ups. Not sure how they are still open. read more

I paid a ridiculous amount way above normal to pack a few packages- several hundred dollars which could've probably been done for $100 total by myself. additionally, I should've caught it but the person typed in the wrong street address so now my very expensive items are being bounced around and haven't still had delivery. they told me they aren't responsible once it gets out the door and could only give me an 800 number. How ridiculous- would never never go back to them -the store on Fullerton is much much more professional. They told me rudely their manager wasn't in today, but would be in tomorrow. Horrible experience for a simple package drop off. Employee I interacted with was aggressively rude with their communication on where to place packages while waiting...totally uncalled for, so I simply walked out without engaging and went to a neighboring UPS store who had better customer service. ...and when I say customer service I mean a place who had the ability to provide the basics of decent human interaction. read more

Owners are totally unprofessional and clueless on how to run a business. We had been using this UPS Store location for ten years, it had exceptionally great service when it was owned by Jackie B. But the new owners Marcus and Donte are rude and have no understanding or concern for their customers' needs. About four months ago I was expecting a large shipment of expensive rare plants (I am a certified university master gardener) that was mishandled. I was upset as the plants died and the owners of the UPS Store denied that the plants had ever been delivered there. UPS Customer Service showed me proof that the plants had been delivered, but Marcus' non sequitur of an answer was that he was a franchisee and didn't I understand what that meant? I lost $500 worth of plants, I understand that part. For the past four months, I haven't gone inside the store, and my spouse has been picking up all our many packages there, and no one ever told him they were upset. Two days ago they told him that they were refusing to do any more business with us when our current contract expires in a couple of weeks, because I was a horrible person. I had no idea what I had done wrong. Today I go into the store and ask what is going on. They tell me that they are canceling our package acceptance service and are refusing ever to allow us to do any business there again. When I asked why, they said it was because I "disrespected" them four months ago... by getting upset! I asked why they didn't tell me then, so that maybe I could apologize for whatever perceived disrespect I caused. I don't know how getting upset for losing $500 worth of plants was disrespectful, but if I did something wrong I would apologize. I certainly would have apologized back then if they had given me some rational reason to do so. They refused to clarify, only to say that I had no right to get upset and that they don't deal with customers "like me". (An elderly White woman... I'll bet that if the table were turned and White me kicked Black them out of my store for "disrespect", they'd sue me.) They said that my horrible disrespect to them happened the first week they owned the store and apparently it was so traumatic that they couldn't get over it. Rookie mistake by new clueless business owners? Or maybe they were just thin-skinned, or maybe they just wanted some drama. Then they accused my spouse of also "screaming" at them a few months ago, he's standing there next to me the whole time and never said a word, and also had no idea what they were talking about. Apparently he hurt their little feelings right after they opened, by asking them to send us emails alerting us to package deliveries (which is a service we PAID FOR). It took him three email reminders and phone calls over a couple of weeks before they finally started alerting us per our contract. Somehow that was my spouse's fault, or something. And they added that they could hear me screaming in the background while he was talking on the phone to them. Wow! So much screaming going on....They said they were "freaking out" but decided not to cancel us back then. Why? So that they could keep our business and MONEY for four months? I guess the money helped soothe their sensitive little souls. Now that our original contract was about to end, they were kicking us out. They actually ordered us to leave the store RIGHT NOW, and were very menacing. They canceled us and our contract that very moment and warned us never to step foot inside again. Crazy, we are both in our 70s and are hardly threats to them. The funny thing was, we were about to tell them we were no longer going to use their services until next year because the gardening season is over. And anyway, there are several UPS Stores (and Fedex stores) closer to our house. We had only been loyal to that location because of former owner Jackie, and he's gone. Replaced by a couple of geniuses. I am sure that they will continue to chase away customers. Beware, you are dealing with some very nasty people. Racism goes two ways, guys. Recently this Store has changed ownership and the service is the pits!!! I have been a UPS Choice Customer for five (5) years and have used this store location as my Access Store since becoming a member. Lately I noticed that every time I pick up a package, I have the $5.00 surcharge fee. When I challenged the charge on a recent pickup, my inquiry was met with hostility by the cashier, Clarissa. I reported my experience to the Owner via email - according to Staff, there was no name or direct contact information for the Owner- and never received a response. Needless to say that I am extremely displeased with the service this store provides. I have purposely shared my experience with others l know who use this store and many of them have told me of similar experiences they have had. Everybody DOES NOT tell the same lie so there apparently the problem is with the store and not the Customers. I am sure that the store will continue to be used because of the convenience of its location. But I'm traveling and additional mile to another store in my area, and I would advise as many people as possible to do the same....The store gets a 1-star rating only because there is nothing lower. Wow...I have used this place for the last 3 years because my business is close by. They were ok the last 3 years. Now, they are under new management and at first, I thought it was great. The guy is personable, etc.. He clearly knows I come in and ship stuff all the time, so I definitely drop some coin in there. I try to drop off a box for USPS pick up...they want to nickle and dime my ass for $2? I pay $2 so the guy can drop it on the stack for pick up tomorrow? Long story short, I was in a serious debacle with needing to get a package to my ill grandmother before a major surgery. Both Dave and Juan went above and beyond to find the fastest, most cost-effective way of doing so. I hate this place. I actually refuse to go there and will make an extra trip to go to a different place, even though it is next to Dominick's, where I shop anyway. I walked in there one day just to make a couple of copies and mail something. They guy behind the counter actually yelled at me (in front of everyone in the store) because I wasn't sure which of the copiers was broken. Really??? Last time I checked, you weren't supposed to yell at people who pay you for services, but clearly this place didn't get the memo. If their copiers worked in the first place, he wouldn't have had to be so nasty. I've actually been back a couple of times, out of pure laziness, and the same guy is always there...and still unpleasant. Never again. read more

I think I know who you are talking about...this guy is sketchy! I will make the extra effort to go somewhere else! Not only was my package sent to the wrong address but after it was returned to me (7 weeks later), they would not refund my money (almost 26.00!!!!! to ship). I am not even mad about the money, I am mad at how I was treated. He told me that I had to call UPS, when I did they stated that the privately owned UPS store is the only way I could get a refund. When I went back to the store, he stated that UPS didn't know what they were talking about. I was not happy with being jerked around! I'm pretty sure there have been a few changes in management, etc since I've started using this store but I have never had any issues with them. I have a UPS box here where I get all my mail sent to as the postal service continually lost lots of my mail and refused to deliver or let me pick up packages. These guys sorts the USPS mail they receive themselves (meaning I don't worry about someone else getting my mail, like I do at my apartment) and they collect and hold of my packages. They have been a total lifesaver since getting married and lots of wedding presents have been coming in. I would be utterly screwed without having this store sign for and hold my packages. I've mailed a few things from here as well - in my book, way more reliable and worth the extra cost then trying to deal with the Chicago postal service. Yes, you do have to pay a fee to have them send our your packages through USPS rather than their service, but this is standard at any UPS Store I've ever visited, so it did not bother me. The guys who work here are also great, in my experiences with them - very friendly, helpful, and trustworthy. If you are looking to get a UPS box for your mail and packages, I would highly recommend using this store. read more

Ok, so I like this UPS, the employees in here are great. Juan took care of me on this occasion and he is an absolute amazing employee. But I was very uncomfortable with whom I think is the manager. Dave was talking loudly and just being downright rude. Not to peoples faces but behind their backs, making derogatory and racist remarks after someone would leave. Now I could only imagine what was said about me after I left. You could cut the tension in there with a knife, that's how uncomfortable it was. WARNING!!! On June 10th I shipped 7 boxes from this store. One of them never showed up and an initial tracking search on UPS's website showed the box as having never left the store. I called the store on June 28th and was treated VERY poorly and told they would start the tracking process and get back to me. After not receiving any follow up I called back again on July 9th and spoke to owner. He was argumentative and abrasive from the moment he got on the phone. His position was that since the UPS Stores are not part of UPS the loss of the shipment was not his problem, he told me he would do not nothing else regarding the situation and hung up on me. Subsequently I spoke to UPS who said they have contacted the store regarding information they need to reimburse me for the loss but the store will not respond and that they can not resolve the claim without it. read more

Ive been coming to this location for a while, but now there is new management. There are new friendly HELPFUL employees and they are open on Sunday when i run a lot of errands. I had a banner, a yard sign and invitations printed for my daughters graduation and they were awesome!! They had a graphic designer that helped me too which was huge. There is a huge parking lot that makes things so easy. Id recommend this store to anyone now! read more

this store is a franchise store owned by jackie brown Not UPS.I shipped serigraphs pictures to my california home in oct 2015.the charge was $ 94.00 which included insurance on the declared value of $1,000.00. the goods were damaged by the carrier and returned to the franchise store. I was told by the manager Mario Brown to get a appraisal for the pictures. I did this and the pictures were appraised at $1,400.00. I kept calling the store to get a check for the goods than were damaged. They finally came back to me in Jan 2016 stating that the goods were not package by them and therefore they would not pay.I WAS NEVER TOLD THIS WHEN I BROUGHT THE GOODS TO BE SHIPPED TO THE STORE. THE CLERK STATED THE PACKAGING WAS OK AND THEN OFFERED THE INSURANCE.This operation is a rip off.I am proceeding with legal action and will contact the better business people. read more

Overpriced and unreliable. The fees in this place are exorbitant, even for a UPS store. Faxes are $3 for the first page and $1 for each page after that....for a fax! It cost $10 for a USPS priority mail envelope (just an envelope). Fine, they have to mark up to make money but to get an "email confirmation" of delivery they charge an extra $5. So, I shelled over my $15 and never received the confirmation. The guy told me they had some sort of problem with the confirmations and he'd refund my money....but I don't need the $5...I need to know my package was received. I used this location as business mailbox and shipping outlet for 2 years. The current management is unreliable and unprofessional. A package was sent there for my business under the previous address and, even though I had printed copies of receipt and delivery confirmation, they denied delivery. The manager made no attempt to search the office for my package and I don't trust they'll continue to look for it as I requested. DON"T GO HERE! read more

The first time I went here I was amused by the gruff and curt service of the guy who appears to own/manage this franchise - kind of like going to Ed debevics and sharing in the 'Chicago experience' knowing it's an act for your entertainment. But, here's the problem - it's not an act - the guy is loathsome and an ass to interact with. Which in of itself wouldn't be such an issue, but add the 'mysterious' ser-charges that seem exorbitant and one has every reason to never patronize this business.
