Historically have had good experiences but recently problematic. Tried to send photos to my son via UPS (for his birthday no less), which do not arrive, I look at the tracking report, it was tracked as received at the UPS store and then - nothing? I.e., shipping NEVER STARTED. How the heck does that happen? Drop by on the weekend, they say they'll file a "missing package report and get back to me". Called them during the week after no response - stated they "reviewed the security cameras" in the store and no sign of the package. But they'll refund my credit charge. Not worth it guys - time to find another shipper or another branch. Oh, and in Urbana the delivery person took a picture of another letter I shipped, on the floor with resolution so poor that you can't see the address. Hmm, maybe another shipper. The UPS Store - Label created. This is a week later after I found out the package was not received. Never left the store???? - Shipping Centers Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Tried to pay for a shipping label at their computer kiosk. After the system rejected all my cards, I tried using Paypal. When using Paypal, it appeared the payment went through, but it didn't give me my shipping label, and double-charged me instead. After asking the person working the desk about it, he said they could not handle payment issues in-store, and provided a corporate number for me to call. After getting home, I called the UPS corporate number, and was met with a completely useless automated message system that could not help me with the issue. I tried getting it to send me to a live agent TWICE, and both of them said they would need to redirect me to ANOTHER department to deal with payments, only to send me back to the exact same useless automated message system I started out with. Massive waste of time. I proceeded to ship through Fedex instead, and went through the process without issue in less than an hour. I will be disputing the transactions on Paypal. read more

This convenient location has been a lifesaver multiple times throughout the past few days alone, so I thought I'd show some love! First, this past Monday I got a notification that I needed to return my Rent the Runway dress by 12pm. I saw the notification at... 11am. Yikes! I was initially panicked because I didn't realize I lived so close to a UPS location, but then dropoff was so quick and easy, my stress went away immediately. Then, only two days later, I desperately needed to make copies of a form for work. After looking up printing options online, I called this location to see what the process would be like. The woman who answered the phone was so calm and nice and assured me it'd take only a few minutes if they weren't super busy. About 20 minutes later, I waltzed in, paid $9 for 30 copies, and the gentleman behind the counter walked me to the copier. The minute they were done, he brought me a receipt paired with a smile, and just like that, I was done in there! I just wanted to shout out these rockstars. Thank you all so much! read more

First time at this location. The first one was supposed to open at 9 am. But of course their hours changed. Decided to go to one closer to where I live but I was worried I wouldn't find a spot to park. I had a huge box. Staff was so friendly. Followed all CDC guidelines. I came into the store on a rainy night with a package to drop off. The person who helped me was quite fast and efficient. And I made the error of accidentally leaving my phone in the store- the same person who helped me went ahead and put it off to the side and it was there when I got back 10 + minutes later. Everyone at this store has always been so nice and helpful. We've been in the neighborhood for 10 years and going here for mailing special things, mailing products and boxes and even large print jobs for my kids school packets. I've never had any issues. They take their time and work with you on packing and mailing. Also, in the time of COVID they are pretty strict with how many people are inside at a time, social distance and wear masks. read more

I will give one star for the initial interaction, which began quite pleasant and hopeful due to needing printing services on short notice. However, it did not end very well. Don't ever use this location for printing services. The quality was horrible, in addition to not receiving drafts beforehand to get what you want. AND the audacity to expect YOU to pay extra for their mistake! The store owner is a joke and lacks customer service, and does not bother to reach out to customer complaints or concerns. I went in here 15 minutes before they closed and they were able to get me in and out with no problem. I purchased my box here and they packed everything in there neatly. The lady I worked with was very efficient and professional. They are a little pricier than USPS, but there is no hassle here, and MUCH better service. Also, you're paying for the box, the packing of the items and shipping/tracking. For me, the UPS store is worth it - especially when I'm in a pinch! read more

I'm not a one-star review kind of guy. I always go back for a second experience before I post a one-star...just to make sure I'm being fair and not being cray-cray. Oh, OK. I'll admit that I couldn't stomach the thought of revisiting Costello's Sandwiches & Sides. But OTHERWISE, I always pay a second visit. This UPS Store has successfully reduced itself to one-star status. It seems as if the employees are now going out of their way to find a reason that they can't do something and, when they DO do something, they try to make it as outrageously difficult as possible. Truly, the Postal Service offers luxurious, pampering service compared to this UPS store location. Today, I walked in and there was a line of six people. One person was apparently shipping rolls of carpeting and the other five of us were waiting for service. With the exception of the rug shipper, every one of the other five would-be customers spoke with the employee, heard that the store would not/could not/did not do what that customer wanted, and left. Five people who wanted to spend money were turned away with lame excuses. About four weeks ago, I had another shipment. I came in with the destination address typed out in 18-point Times New Roman on a piece of paper and I gave it to the clerk. Clerk. There's a title that I don't throw around much. But this UPS Store's employees are clerks in every sense of the word. If I handed you a piece of paper with my package's destination on it, what would you do? If you said you would hand the paper back to me and tell me to read the name and address to you because it would be faster, then you could work at this UPS Store. Literally. That's what happened. He and I spent a solid 2 minutes engaged in a conversation that went something like this while he typed the destination into the system: ME: "Steven Trumble" HIM: "Stefan?" ME:"Stev..." HIM: "S-T-E-P-H..." ME: "V. S-T-E-V..." HIM: "Trimmell?" ME: "Trumble. Tango. Romeo. Uniform. Mike. Bravo. Lima. Echo." Infuriating. In the end, I reminded the clerk that I wanted to ensure that a signature was received upon delivery. He said that signature is automatically included. This place is rarely busy and the workers are always friendly. They treat you like you've been a long time customer whether it's your first time in or not. I had to ship 8 boxes across the country and it was the most painless process ever. I knew it would be pricey no matter what and I was willing to slow ship it to save some moolah. They did their absolute best to make sure that my things made it without getting damaged and got me the best deal that they could. I love the UPS Store. I've used them forever to fax things and ship things whenever the need arises. The employees who work at this location are super friendly, and they always look for the cheapest and quickest way for you to ship something without you having to ask. Today I went in there to ship a few packages, and one of them was a box of presents going to my dad's. The guy helping me saw the presents for the dogs, and asked what kind they were and we made some small talk about dogs for a minute. It's a little thing, but I like fun small talk especially when you're doing something so mundane like shipping packages. He then assured me they would pack the packages well so nothing would move around or break, and emailed me the tracking numbers. And hey, I even got a free calendar. Score! read more

Only downside... if you're shipping out packages via USPS from here, receipts are not available to confirm your package was dropped off/received at the facility. It can become a problem. read more

Don't go here they rip you off. Cost $7 to mail 2 things. They ask you if you want usps but dont tell you there is a "convenience fee" and it ends up being double the price. Then the stamps are printed right on the packaging and you can't take it back. Will never go here again to pay to mail something! read more

I've been to many UPS stores in my time, some were definitely better than others, but this one takes the cake for the least professional. I don't get upset at business all that often, since I can totally relate to the the day-to-day hardships and mishaps that can happen on the job, but my experience at the Lincoln Park UPS on Clark was simply above and beyond all that tolerance and understanding. It's a Saturday morning at 9:45, and I have a package that already has a shipping label. All I had to do was scan it for a receipt and drop it in the outgoing bin with the other processed boxes. It should have been a simple, stress-free visit. . . When I get to the storefront, I see a small group of other customers standing outside with packages in-hand. The doors were still locked - despite the fact that it should have been open 45 minutes earlier (9:00 AM). Among this group was an employee (without keys) who said that the manager is running late (understatement), and she called him multiple times, and each time, he simply says he's on his way. Apparently, she claims that this happens from time to time, and that alone is unacceptable for any business. I hadn't been waiting nearly as long as some of the other customers, and at some point, after they began to leave one by one, I was the only one who remained standing out there in the cold and wind. I decided to give it another 20 minutes or so to see if the manager appeared. . . He did. He arrived at 10:11 AM. He strolls around the corner at a very slow and carefree pace (taking his merry time), and holding an iced coffee. Yep, he apparently took time to stop for coffee. . . He then notices me standing there with a box in my arms, and all he says is "Oh, sorry" under his breath. He fumbled around with his keys, and finally opened the door. I step in, and an awkward silence ensues. I wanted to think of something clever to say, but I think the situation spoke for itself. His employee steps in once the store is completely opened, and the manager just turns to her and says "well, it's not a good morning." The manager then took a phone call and snuck away to the back room. I got my tracking receipt from the remaining employee, who was understandably frustrated. And just like that, things were back to this store's definition of normal - coming off as rather distant and judgmental. Overall, the whole experience was just so unbelievably unprofessional. I hope you found my tale helpful - UPS corporate sure did. *Side Note: as a repeat customer, this is the kind of negative energy you should expect when coming here. If you don't know where something is, or want to know how a certain policy works, they'll be sure to let you know how dumb you sound - be it with an eye roll or a witty comment. read more

Update (4/8/13): You know what, even if they didn't lose my stuff, I was back in here a couple of months ago and the employees were straight-up rude. I had a package to send and the address and return address were on it already (because I am nothing if not overcautious). I handed it to the gentleman behind the counter and he asked me the name and address anyway. Fine. So I was giving him the address, spelling it out, and he went, "I got it," like a rude ass. Not a smile the whole time, and he spelled the recipient's name wrong even though it was on the package. To his credit, I will say that the address was right. -------------- They definitely either lost or didn't ship the two things I dropped off here. I know this because: -One was a SASE to a teacher. I was supposed to get feedback from her, but never did. -The other was a box of equipment I leased and was sending back to an internet provider. Said provider sent me an email asking where the stuff was, even though I dropped it off two months ago. To be fair, I have yet to go there and ask what happened. If they pull my mail out from under the counter and say, "Oh, this? Sure we can mail it," maybe I'll upgrade this to two stars. read more

The moment my daughter and I stepped into this location, we were greeted with great smiles and friendly attitudes by Terrance and Vaughn. It was a busy day being that the Air and Water Show was going on, but they handled each customer quickly with quality care. What I liked the most was the music. They had that smooth oldies, but goodies music playing and it made the atmosphere feel inviting. Terrance took care of our request to open a mail box and explained to us our questions. They state that they offer printing services. I went in today to print a poster sized banner for work. The girl behind the counter said she didn't know "how to work it" and called for Amir to help her because she's only been there for a few weeks and Amir had been there a few months. Ok. Amir finally came up - a young guy maybe in his early 20's - and before we even spoke he shook his head and said "I don't know how to work it". I said that the file will be sent via email and then he opens it and should be able to send to printer. He argued with me about other reasons WHY he couldn't do it - he said "I don't know what paper is in it". I said the paper should be loaded. He said "No- I don't even know how to check to see if there's paper". ARE YOU KIDDING ME? He stood staring at me for a few seconds and I left and went to Kinkos. Not only was it annoying that NOT ONE EMPLOYEE WAS TRAINED to complete a simple service- but his "I DON'T CARE" attitude towards me was so disappointing. He literally shrugged and rolled his eyes up when I said I would have to go to Kinkos. Printing is a SERVICE that the company advertises. The SERVICE should not be partially available depending upon if someone working knows how to do it! read more

I like this place because they have friendly service and typically can do a copy job on the spot. I live close by and use this place regularly for work related projects. On one occasion they had a difficult customer in the store and they did a good job calming him down and taking care of the issue. Good service can be hard to find in places like these. read more
