This UPS store is just fine. I've been here a couple of times to send off packages and it's generally been pretty efficient and, whilst probably a bit more expensive than it would be to go to a post office, not nearly as frustrating. They also do passport photos here. There aren't any special hours for the passport photos so head in at any point during hours. As of February 2023, the cost for passport photos is only about $15. There's street parking a plenty here. read more

I had to pick up online shopping items here and also return them when they didn't fit and both times, the workers I encountered at UPS were both helpful. They taped up my return and helped attach my label, which I was worried about since I didn't have any packing tape at home. The process both times was very quick, which was great because the online shopping part has been such a hassle. They gave me a receipt with the tracking number without me asking for it and I was in and out. If you have to interact with a UPS, this is a good one. read more

Do yourself a fervor and don't go to any other UPS stores. I have had some seriously horrible experiences at other locations which led me to driving a little further to this location. I was working with Danny Scott on some urgent business card printing for an event and he went above and beyond. Answered quickly, customized prints and was amazing. Just had the most ridiculous experience with the employees of this location. I was not emailed a tracking number for a time sensitive package that I paid overnight shipping for. By the time I figured out I must've missed the delivery of the package, it had been left at the store. I called earlier today to verify it was there and that was that. I wasn't able to go get the package myself before the store closed today so I called the store to verify that my husband could pick it up if he had my id with him. I spoke with a different employee then and they said that would be fine. Maybe their name was Christian or something? I get a call from my husband to call the store as he is there to add his name to the package so he could take it. I was confused why there was an issue after I had spoken to them earlier and was told everything was good, but I called and found myself on the phone with the most rude and truly miserable individual I can ever remember speaking to. The person on the phone told me their name was Yelena but I thought earlier on they had said Carlie. Either way, this person accused me of being a liar about speaking to the other employee at the store 20 minutes prior. I guess she is on phone duty all day and keeps track of every phone call that is answered??? Such a joke. Anyway, I could tell the whole story and go into every detail of why this human needs to sort out their need for confrontation outside of work, but it's not worth my time. Just want to put it out there that Yelena or Carlie??? Should not be able to speak to other humans because it was borderline emotional abuse. read more

Came here to print a few pages from a USB drive. Needed to pay $2 computer fee to access the computer for five minutes to insert my USB drive and print from it. Then a bit more per page to print. No problem, right? Paid the $2 but the USB reader wasn't working and my USB drive did not appear at all after using it on my home computer just 15 minutes before. My five minutes ran out and the employee working there refused to acknowledge there was an issue with their USB reader. The employee said that not all USB drives are compatible with their (generic and universal) USB reader and that it was my fault that my drive was not compatible. ??? There is no reason a basic USB drive would not be compatible after just having worked 15 minutes ago. Makes no sense and even if it were true there is no way to know it until after paying a $2 fee. The employee then said that they do not recommend using USBs and all customers should use the cloud to print to UPS. Of course there are no signs stating this and also why even offer USB printing if this is your suggestion. The manager hid in the back, said "I'm not talking to him", and refused to come out when the employee asked about refunding the $2 fee. It's not even about the fee but the dishonesty, lack of working through and understanding a problem, disrespect, and basic theft that was pretty astounding. read more

I placed a package for a return back to Amazon.It was an authorized return shipping label It was a small package. It was on December 28th 2021. The tracking number still shows as Estimated delivery The delivery date will be provided as soon as possible. . Never was delivered, Never even picked up. I am lucky it was a small package that is annoying to loose and even more to follow up, but well worth experiencing this as a learning experience that this isn't a place to go to do any shipping. I live nearby and was warned by other neighbors to avoid using that location and now... I know why with personal experience. I used a competitor for years and years and never, ever, not even once, had a single issue with them. read more

I have heard around the neighborhood to avoid this UPS and wish I had. The two women who were supposed to assist were extremely rude and condescending when I was trying to understand a process for some of my amazon shipments. Would not go to this UPS. I recieved an email that my package was ready for pick up. Went to this store and was told that the package had not been "processed" yet. When I pointed out that the email stated that the package was "ready for pickup" the person I spoke to basically explained it was just UPS being UPS. No apology, just attidute when UPS was clearly in the wrong for wasting my time. read more

I have my packages delivered here instead of my house as we're not always home to receive them. The service has been hit or miss. Unfortunately if the driver arrives before or after the ups store opens it gets sent back to the south side distribution facility and there it stays in limbo until you pick up your stuff. No other attempt is made at delivering your packages. So it has turned out to be a bit of an inconvenience. This time, for Christmas some of my kids' presents got trapped in this limbo. I couldn't get downtown so I called UPS to have the presents delivered back to the UPS store. According the the ups tracking app, the packages got delivered to the UPS store and they somehow refused delivery of my packages and without even contacting me the packages are getting sent back to the sender. I call UPS and pretty much they tell me nothing they can do and that I have to contact the sender to get my packages resent. And this is all happening 1 full week after I was supposed to have these packages delivered. read more

Personally I have had print jobs completed at this location and can vouch for the timeliness and quality of the product. Today, Feb 24, 2023, the store was closed at 8:55 AM but the front door was open. I went inside and waited behind the locked steel gate and 4 people entered behind me. The clerk came in at 8:59, unlocked steel gate. I said good morning brightly. I was ignored. He was grumpy and unresponsive. Then looked at us and said "next time don't enter the store when it's closed". I said then lock your front door." Him- "The front lock is screwed up". Me- "then get it fixed or put a sign on your door". Anybody could come in and take reams of new paper for free. They are piled on the floor. He was rude, grumpy and generally an ass. Garbage customer service. Went in and the woman refused to help me and told me to use the kiosk. I explained I needed an accurate acceptance weight and preferred she or the other employee present weigh it at the counter. She mumbled some nonsense that "they" don't rely on the weights they take and again refused to help me. I was the only customer there so they weren't too busy or doing anything at all actually. I love this UPS Store location. The customer service here is always top notch. The employees get to know you the more you come in, and it really starts to feel like a neighborhood spot. A lot of people don't know this, but I found out as I came in more: UPS Stores are franchise locations, not UPS itself. And the small business ethics really shine through at this location under Danny and Dan's management. Claudia has helped me numerous times with printing projects, and Danny truly does know everything about packaging and shipping. I feel like I learn something new every time I go into the store (which sounds so ridiculous, but it's true! Those commercials are right: The UPS Store does everything!) I went to the UPS store at 4044 Lincoln to ship the package. When she received it, some of the tussels of the rug were missing, some of them were glued with black greasy oil. I went to the store to make a complaint, the store clerk Yolena didn't apoligize. Instead she rattled on how I won't get reimbursed becuase the packaging material might not up to UPS standard. This claim was totally rediculous. I shipped a 2nd rug via FedEx ground. The packaging material is identical to the 1st one. FedEx ground is much cheaper and faster. Moreover, the rug was shipped perfectly. No damage at all. Yolena told NJ local office to send a mover to my niece's house to move the rug back to Chicago. This was a total wrong action to handle this case. I gave the rug to my niece. I want it remained in her house. I only want UPS to pay for the damage. Why do I want to have the rug shipped back? A week later, I went to the store again. I happened to talk to Yolena again. She again did her negative song and dance telling me that the packaging is not up to UPS standard and the insurance will not pay for the damage even after I paid $26.50 to insure this shipment. In both visits, Yolena didn't say 'I'm sorry' once. What kind of customer service is that? How does UPS train it's employees? I want to let everyone know the poor service I encountered at this UPS store. In addition, FedEx is much better shipping large items. Don't bother with UPS. read more

I just want to shout out this UPS Store as being amazing, because I feel like a lot of people only think about delivery services when something goes wrong. I have lived in North Center for 2 years, and have come to this location countless times for a variety of needs. I have used their fast, polite notary probably a dozen times. Their computers and printers are user-friendly and affordable. I have shipped gifts to friends and family in other states, and the staff here always take their time to adjust the boxes, packing materials, and speed to achieve a price I'm happy with. I've walked in right as the store opens, I've dashed in five minutes before closing time, and they are always ready to serve. Last Christmas, when I was sending gifts to my family in Tennessee, they set my delivery date expectations very clearly... and then miraculously exceeded them by delivering faster than Santa himself. Way to go, UPS Store in North Center. You do a great enough job that I choose UPS for shipping every time. :) read more

Dan and his team are one of the gems of our community. He is a model small business where they really try to get to know their customers and become involved in the community as a whole. They support many other businesses and nonprofits as well as our local schools. We have rented a mailbox here for 16 years and have used their services for shipping, printing, notary and passport photos as well. We are always treated with respect and fairness. read more

I sent a package out from this store, which was being sent overseas. I packaged the item myself but left the box open so the sales associate could see the item and packaging. I asked if I needed to purchase any additional packaging and was told no and reassured the package was properly packaged. He secured the package and used additional tape. In retrospect, I was told he should have suggested to put the tube inside another tube and then added " fragile" stickers to the package. He did not. The item arrived overseas completely damaged. It appears to have been crushed! This was due to both the associates poor advise and not ensuring the package was in fact packaged properly, after all he is the expert. Also UPS employees mishandled the package along the way. They do not want to take responsibility for their errors. Although, I paid extra to insure the item, UPS is stating the package was not properly packaged by the store. They are not taking responsibility for mishandling and recklessly damaging the package along the way. It left my hands in perfect condition. I am waiting for a refund for my shipping costs and to be reimbursed for the value of the item. I blame the store as well for not getting more involved, taking responsibility and expediting my refund. I would not recommend you send packages from this UPS store or even use UPS as a company. I have sent similar items in the same exact packaging and they arrived unscathed and in perfect condition. I am requesting a refund and reimbursement for the item. read more

This place is pure trash. I went in today to print a single black and white page. I thought I could have the store easily print it up by emailing them like I have in the past... But no. Things have changed here. The woman working pawns me off as soon as I walk in and tells me to go up to the computer at the front of the store and self print. Mind you there are ZERO customers in the store besides me, apparently I'm not important enough? I walk up to the computer and see that there is an absurdly high minimum charge to use the computer that looks like it's from 1999. I walk back up to the front and question the employee why there is a minimum charge when I only have to print one page. At this point the manager gets involved and says that's been store policy since January to self print and if that I want them to print my one SINGLE page there is a $2.50 or $5 "setup" fee per job... Yes you heard that correctly, he wanted me to pay $2.50/$5 plus the actual printing costs to print ONE SINGLE BLACK AND WHITE page that they could easily open on their gmail and hit print in well under 30 seconds. That comes out to either $300 or $600 an hour! (Apparently I should get a job at UPS store cause they charge more an hour for multiple print jobs than an Ivy League educated lawyer makes...) I have no problem paying a RIDICULOUS premium for exceptional customer service or help but at this point we were past that. I ask if other UPS stores have the same policy. The owner starts back pedaling like a cheap bike and in a long winded answer says other stores have "similar" charge policy and that it is "industry standard". But is it as high a charge I ask? and he starts blabbering some more. At this point I had enough and walk out to leave the store and he keeps yelling at me after I said have a good day. Clearly the end of the conversation buddy. He then insults me and shouts that I was a "whiner" as I open the door to leave. So professional... Oh really? I'm a whiner? No. The OWNER IS A DISHONEST AND GREEDY LIAR who is trying to scam the neighborhood with absurd printing costs. I got in my car and drove to FedEx Kinkos store after this. Know how much they charge to print a single page? 15 cents.. So the owner here is just totally full of shit that all the nearby shipping stores are charging the full cost. This is in response to Sean C's review of The UPS Store 4569. Sean, I think you may have confused UPS Store locations. My name is Caley Ross and I used to work at this location. I am now a manager at The UPS Store 6048 located at 3332 W. Foster Ave. I know that this location that Sean reviewed does not have an automated shipping machine. As far as I know, no UPS Stores do. Also, Store 4569 does not have a specific drop point that you can drop off packages IN. They have a counter and floor space that workers place packages on. Most customers just hand them to the workers or place them ON the counter. The workers at that center would never take a pre paid drop off package that was packaged and ready to go into the back of the store. They handle my myriad of Amazon returns like pros. But where this store and Danny specifically excels is in helping and promoting really great causes for this neighborhood. Meh. I dont care much for the common practice of businesses tacking on additional charges without disclosing them first. Its happening more and more and somewhat disconcerting. While I frequent this location often, my last encounter left me a bit jarred. I brought in a package that was in a UPS express box, when it should have been in a Ground delivery box. Clerk quotes me price of shipping $10.40. Fine, when im ready to swipe my card, it says $17.20. "Is this correct? you just said $10.20?" The clerk cavalierly says, "ohh yea, the additional is for the box" OK, I have no degrees in Economics, but $7 for a shipping box??? I can find one in an alley for free..even $1-$3 is acceptable. I was a bit miffed that she did not only disclose the additional price gouging charge, but that she just whisked it off as if its no big deal. Lesson learned. read more

If you ever walk in there and see Kristie Melgar the graphics designer working the counter, you should just turn around walk away from the counter. because the rude person will put her thumb on the scale and try to steal from you every time. I went in on a Saturday for self-service printing, their machines wouldn't print the .pdf on my thumb drive and the employees there said it would be an extra $5.00 for them to read my thumb drive! Both employees seemed bored and not really interested in helping me. One of them gave me directions to the nearest FedEx Office, where the self-services machines printed from my thumb drive with no problem. read more

I won't waste my time here again, I'd rather walk to the FedEx near Southport. We waited in line to ask for assistance making copies of two 8.5x 11 photos. First employee stated she couldn't help and instructed us to wait for the other employee. So we waited another 5-10 minutes for the other employee to say 'the machine is over there'. Well if we knew how to do it ourselves we would have instead of wasting 20 minutes waiting in line. read more
