We just finished attending a wedding ceremony, my family and I headed here for the reception. Valet was posted at $18/hr, but since the newlyweds reserved the place from 5 PM to close, it was actually $18 flat. I didn't confirm with the manager, so I parked 200 feet away for $45 all day. Meanwhile, one of my cousins argued with a valet until the newlyweds clarified that all guests should've been charged the $18 wedding rate. Inside, the first thing I noticed was the smell of coffee which, it randomly made me think of Mexican coffee. I ordered an espresso and my usual Moscow Mule while waiting for the rest of the family to arrive from SF City Hall. The ladies at my table went with Peach Bellinis and Guava Rum Punches, and we had a couple of refills so, we were getting drunk before the party started. Starters were a wedge salad with clam chowder, and mains were a choice of fish & chips, Petaluma chicken, or salmon. My table stuck with fish & chips and salmon, both were solid. We sat at a window table with beautiful views and fresh air. Tons of photos and videos were taken, and the vibe was lively with a mariachi band playing for three hours. Even the staff pulled out their phones to record, and it honestly felt like they were having as much fun as we were. Hopefully, we didn't get too loud for the neighbors across the street.

Festival Cake - don't ask, just eat it.

So, was planning to go to The Barrel House but, when we came across this place and read about the history, totally changed our minds. Great experience! I loved the interior. It felt like visiting someone's cool house in the '70's I never order fish and chips. Too many calories for something that might be mushy. My judgment was good. This was excellent. Very crunchy and the cod was super fresh. The waiter was fun. We split the Frank Sinatra Festival Cake, flourless chocolate cake, chocolate mousse, cheesecake, and roasted strawberries. What?! Yes, I was really good! Definitely coming back!

I love this place! I had the sea scallops last night with Parmesan Risotto, Cherry Tomatoes, Delta Asparagus, Bacon, Fresh Arugula, HMB English Peas, Chipotle Crema. It was so delicious. Scallops perfectly cooked. We ordered a lovely bottle of wine. We also had the frito mixto and I had a negroni. All fantastic. The ambiance can't be beat. I love the relaxed vibe with reggae playing. The deck overlooking the bay is huge and wonderful. We saw a harbor seal while we were eating. We ate here during Covid in March - it was chilly and they gave us all space blankets. We're always pretty goofy and our servers have always been super fun. The food is great, the drinks are great, the ambiance is amazing.

What a treat to have a day in Sausalito with beautiful weather and beautiful views with friends for a birthday celebration. Our buddy called to make a larger reservation outdoors and fyi, that's the ticket! We had a corner table with the most beautiful backdrop of the water, boats, SF, and clear skies. Such a treat, would highly recommend if wanting the same vibe to call ahead. The Trident is a historic staple to the area, establishing the Tequila Sunrise in 1972..fun fact! The restaurant is pretty large and has a psychedelic vibe to it, with odes to those that frequented this spot like the Stones and Janis Joplin. Loved our waiter (Mify?), he even put a tiny birthday hat on to join our squad in celebration. We ordered the Whitefish Ceviche (recommend!) and Oysters to start for the table, followed by a cup of the Creamy San Francisco Clam Chowder and Classic New England Style Lobster Roll for me. Delicious soup! I'm a big fan of creamy chowders and this one according to the menu is a 60-year recipe and had bacon, yum-tastic. The lobster roll unfortunately didn't do it for me ~ I should have asked what "classic New England style" meant, because I wasn't expecting more of a lobster salad vs. warm lobster/butter pieces. So, that's on me! Although I wonder if anyone else has run into that issue when ordering the lobster roll? I opted for a Caesar salad upgrade vs. fries, but was still given fries anyways. A simple error turned out to be a fun meal add-on I wasn't expecting. Fries were crispy, would order differently next time. My husband ordered the Shrimp Po' Boy and that was delicious! It mentioned "famous" next to it, so had to try it ~ well worth the buttermilk bliss! Something to also note, they have awesome Kid's Meals which come in Bento Boxes (see pic). Plenty of food for the curious eater. Now that I'm taking this into consideration, I have to shout out the spots that give ample kiddo love in creative ways! Well done there! Overall I would def. come back for apps, drinks, live music, the chowder, and potentially try a few other menu items with the outdoor view when I'm ready to open the wallet a bit to splurge on an experience vs. just a meal.

Another Sausalito classic! I've tried many of Sausalito's waterfront restaurants and Trident did not disappoint! Trident is located at the end, with great Bay views spanning from Tiburon, Angel Island, Alcatraz and the city. Service was quick and attentive. We started off with the Frito Misto (MUST get) which is a great starter dish with many seafood: fresh cod, jumbo prawns, calamari with zucchini and yellow squash. You can taste how fresh the seafood was! For entrees, we ordered the Steak Frites, Linguine Alfredo with prawns and Burst Cherry Tomato Pasta with prawns. Look at the size of the dishes! You will leave feeling stuffed! Large portions, decent pricing, good food, you can't go wrong at Trident. The seagulls on the patio made us laugh so hard! They're such cunning creatures, looking around for their new meal and pecking at the pepper jars.

We had a good experience here. The restaurant is vintage with a great view. The server was nice and attentive but the food took an extraordinary amount of time to come out. I really enjoyed the Trident Sunrise cocktail and the Petaluma Chicken, I'll visit again for those alone. My husband said the star of the show on the Fisherman's Catch platter were the baked oysters.

Clam chowder and Whitefish Ceviche

Absolutely incredible experience. We came in the middle of the afternoon for a snack so it wasn't too busy, and they seated us at a cozy table with beautiful views. The clam chowder was perfect and the ceviche was one of my favorites. We also got the fries which were perfectly crispy. We shared a pot of tea which was nourishing for a cold day. So happy we had the chance to stop by here!

We were recommended The Trident by a friend, so we decided to check it out since he said it was really good. We walked in around 2:30 pm on a weekday for lunch and got seated right away outside, which I highly recommend if the weather's nice. The view of San Francisco from the patio is incredible, and there's enough shade to stay comfortable. The service was great. Our hostess was super friendly and checked in on us a couple of times. Food came out pretty fast, maybe 10-15 minutes after we ordered. As for the food, it was good, but nothing mind-blowing. We ordered a few of their popular dishes: the shrimp po'boy, oysters, Trident cioppino, chile slaw, clam chowder, and creme brûlée (which they gave us on the house for my birthday...Very sweet!). I'd personally skip the chile slaw and the clam chowder. The slaw didn't really have any chile flavor, maybe a stray bell pepper or two, and the chowder... honestly one of the blandest I've had. The highlights for me were the shrimp po'boy, oysters, and the creme brûlée. The sandwich was simple but solid. It had crispy shrimp and was in soft bread. Oysters were sweet! The creme brûlée was a classic, well-executed dessert. The cioppino was also pretty good. Had lots of seafood and the garlic bread on the side was perfectly toasted. All in all, it's a decent spot with great views and solid service. Not sure I'd rush back, but I'm glad we tried it.

I had a pretty good lunch at the Trident. Came here with a large group with a reservation. Service was painfully slow, even though the restaurant didn't seemed slammed and there were lots of empty tables around us. At the end we had to get up to leave and pay at the front since we waited for the check so long. I got the burger which was pretty good. It didn't wow me and the price was a little high for it to be only okay. The vibe here is the best part of the restaurant. We sat out on the back deck above the water and had great views of the city across the bay.

The Buena Vista's "World Famous" Irish Coffee
Tariq M.

The Trident is an absolute gem in Sausalito--with incredible views, warm service, and the perfect Irish coffee to top it all off. Our party stopped in and each had the double Buena Vista Irish Coffee, and wow--what a treat. Rich, smooth Peerless organic coffee, a generous pour of Tullamore D.E.W., and a cloud of fresh whipped heavy cream... it was perfectly balanced and soul-warming, especially with the bay breeze just outside the window. To our surprise, they also served complimentary sourdough bread, which paired wonderfully with the drinks. A simple touch, but so appreciated. Whether you're starting your day or winding it down, The Trident nails that classic coastal charm with quality to match. We'll absolutely be back.

Ambience was relaxing and I loved the service. I really enjoyed the food and views of the water. I recommend sitting outside especially when there is no fog outside.

Beautiful beachfront restaurant with stunning bay views. We sat outside on the covered patio, soaking up the perfect summer weather, and were treated to the unforgettable sight of dolphins swimming by right from our table. The restaurant offers valet parking, which was very convenient since finding parking on the weekend can be difficult. Overall, we had a wonderful family outing here and definitely plan to return. Dishes we tried: Whitefish Ceviche -- 4/5 Grilled Baja Fish Tacos -- 4/5 Linguini Alfredo Rosé with Chicken - 4/5 Shrimp Po' Boy --3 /5 Trident Cheeseburger -- 3/5

We came here with a huge group on a Sunday for lunch and had a great time and great food. It was also a perfect day to take in the view. Someone from the restaurant also shared some history of the place and when the Rolling Stones came there after a show. Had fun drinks all around and I loved my scallops. They took good care of our large group.

They are known for their fresh sustainable seafood and beautiful views of the San Francisco Bay. I had made reservations a week before our trip, for our Anniversary, to guarantee a nice table with the best views, and that's exactly what we got. When we arrived we were warmly greeted and taken to our reserved table. I think they gave us the best table they had. We could see the city of San Francisco and lots of pelicans. Their menu isn't as big as their San Francisco location, but it offers the most popular items like their famous ciopppino and many other dishes. We were brought ice waters and sourdough bread and butter. The bread was so warm and fresh. Very comforting. My husband ordered their special of the day, which was the grilled wild California king salmon. And I ordered the linguine con vongole, which is linguine with clams. Our food came out fresh and hot. My husband loved his salmon. My linguine and clams were good but overly salty. Our waiter noticed I wasn't eating my dish and asked if everything was okay. I let him know that it was very salty. Without hesitation, he removed my plate and had the kitchen remake it for me. He was so nice about. My remade dish was brought out to me and it was perfect. There were a hefty portion of the clams and the linguine was cooked at a perfect al dente. The manager came out to apologized for my first dish being overly salty and wanted to be sure the remade dish was just right. I really appreciated their kindness and making sure our evening was perfect. You can tell that they really care about their customers. At the end of our meal, they surprised us with a delicious piece of tiramisu for our anniversary. The plate was decorated like a piece of art with chocolate. The tiramisu was delicious and the perfect ending to our delicious meal.

After reading some reviews here I knew it was a small place, so I was pleasantly surprised I could get a reservation during our trip to Sausalito. My husband and I had recently enjoyed some caviar for the first time but we are no experts, and I was a little worried that he might not get enough to eat. Turns out we both left perfectly satisfied. The place is tiny but so elegant. The bar is right in front of the kitchen that is sparkling clean and the chef prepares everything right there. There is a little high top table too and there was a couple there when we arrived, but afterward it was just us and we felt like royalty treated to our private dinner. We aren't caviar experts by any means but Yo did a great job explaining the different caviar flights including where it comes from - turns out the white sturgeon is farmed in the Sacramento Delta. We chose the Menage a Trois white sturgeon flight and it was so elegant. Three kinds of caviar plus all these homemade breads and crackers to enjoy it with. Every bite was amazing and I think we only left a couple of chives. Afterward we picked a couple of other dishes - the Chawanamushi and the Dungeness crab ravioli. Both were exquisite- in flavor and presentation. For dessert we had the sweet potato - Yo described it as a ganache - which I couldn't really picture but it was a very accurate description. It came with asian pear and was just the perfect finish to our meal. I had a couple glasses of French bubbly with my meal - normally I can't do more than one glass of champagne but it was crisp and yummy and paired well with everything we ate. When we were finished we got our check in a cute sturgeon pulp science fiction book. It was the final thoughtful detail to a wonderful evening. Chef Lance is a real artist and he really thinks through the ingredients and the flavors. Everything was so delicious and creative. I hope we get to come back again someday.
