Avocado Toast

Finally got to dine at The Tradition where it was bunch. I ordered coffee and Avocado Toast. The place was very elegant and luxurious with excellent service. The toast was beautifully presented in front of me where had great flavor. It was above the rest and truly enjoyed it.

I stayed at the attached Hyatt Centric and was so grateful for this restaurant in the mornings. The breakfast is delightful and price friendly. The avocado toast is one of the best I've had and the overnight oats were unique and delicious as well. Highly recommend.

The Tradition is an American restaurant that opened a few months ago. My friend took me there for a bday a week ago and we had apps in the rooftop bar followed by dinner at the Tradition (floor 1). Parking was easy via the Hyatt hotel's valet. The restaurant was empty except for one four-top, which was seated directly adjacent to us. (Two twenty something girls celebrating their birthday with their moms by going to the Tradition for dinner followed by a trip to Slick Dick's (!!!). We split the wedge salad but I could swear it was served with Caesar dressing instead of Ranch. Is that possible? The menu is similar to a stereotypical hotel bar, which it is, in that they specialize in nothing and offer something for everyone: sandwiches, pasta, bbq, seafood, hamburgers, salads, etc. We both ordered the salmon, which was cooked perfectly and served on top of a slightly bready and bland crab cake, which was served on top of whipped mashed potatoes, and served with a side of Béarnaise and asparagus. We enjoyed the side of Brussel sprouts that we split. The cheesecake was good but the taste and texture was more like flan. Service was exceptional.

We went on Memorial Day for brunch and they seated us immediately.. the service was great and food was excellent! She made good recommendations. Would surely go back

The Austin 3 Egger with delicious crispy Tuscan potatoes.

I enjoyed an incredible breakfast. I ordered the Austin 3 Egger with sourdough bread. It was delicious especially the side of crispy breakfast potatoes with Tuscan seasoning! Service was very attentive and Cindy was fabulous. Also, the Green Juice was perfect. Lovely, sunny space with huge floor to windows that bring in the cityscape while dining. Great restaurant!

Great place great service, had the new lobster roll it was delicious. Vibe was quiet great place for lunch

Eggs Benedict and espresso macchiato.

While the food was excellent - the Benedict was made to perfection (as sauce didn't overwhelm the dish) the service was amazing. Cindy was super attentive (even while having multiple tables) and so helpful. Also, love the large windows looking out to Austin streets...

I have never been to this establishment so this review is solely on customer service. For the opening they were hosting a giveaway to both restaurants on IG. I was in talks with someone through their Instagram as I had been the winner of the giveaway. After asking for next steps, all my messages have just been read and never replied to. I have also sent communication through their website and have yet to receive a response.

Their fried chicken sandwich was audibly crisp with fresh tomato and lettuce that I made two meals out of. To end the perfect meal... my husband actually coordinated with staff to create "Gender Reveal" pancakes! I didn't realize what they were until I got to the yummy surprise! Their cream is delicious! The pancakes were soft and sweet! The experience, unforgettable. It brought happy tears to my eyes and we really appreciate the thought and care put into our day. I couldn't decide what I wanted so I went with the eggs Benedict which came with hash brown casserole. I also got a lemonade. My traveling partner got the Bacon Basil Tomato omelet with smoked cheddar and garlic aioli. We also got an order of ricotta pancakes with strawberries. My eggs Benedict was served on a unique bread - not a traditional English muffin - that kind of fell apart as I ate it. The flavor was great though. I should have gotten regular home fries, because the hashbrown casserole was cheesy and I wanted something to soak up the hollandaise and egg. The pancakes were so light they fell right apart when we began cutting into them. The flavor was great though. I would definitely recommend Phoebes.

Their burger is easily one of the best I've had in Austin, especially paired with their thin, crispy fries. It's my go-to order almost every time. One thing I love is that they switch up the steak portion of the menu a few times a year, and it never disappoints. Right now they have the steak au poivre, which is incredible, although I'm still craving their steak frites and hoping it makes a comeback. The escargot and French onion soup are also favorites of mine. At this point, June's has become a staple in our house--usually with a couple of Diet Cokes and either the burger or whatever steak they're featuring. A few of my friends swear by the chicken sandwich (fair warning: it can get a little messy!), the half roasted chicken, and the tuna crudo, so you really can't go wrong no matter what you order. On top of the amazing food, the staff is always incredibly kind and welcoming, which keeps us coming back. I definitely recommend making a reservation since it tends to get pretty busy, especially during peak hours.

There is a QR code that you're required to use to join the waitlist/queue, but this is not clearly communicated on their website. You essentially have to arrive at the restaurant and figure it out once you're there. For a restaurant that is known for having long waits and high traffic, I feel like this information should be clearly stated online so people can plan accordingly. Once I joined the queue, I was number 43 and ended up waiting about an hour and a half before being seated. I understand that popular restaurants can have long wait times, but the lack of transparency about how the process works made the experience more frustrating than it needed to be. Once inside, the ambiance was actually quite quaint and charming. That said, considering how much traffic this restaurant gets, I was surprised by how limited the space is. I honestly think expanding the property would make a huge difference, although I understand that may not be entirely within their control. One thing I will give them major credit for is the menu. Online, the selection makes it look somewhat limited, but once you're there, they actually have 50+ food options, so there is plenty to choose from. That was definitely a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, my entrée was disappointing. I ordered a shredded beef taco with salsa and substituted a side salad. The beef was extremely tender, but unfortunately, it was also very dry. The salad was another disappointment because the vinaigrette was honestly not good. I don't think I've ever had a vinaigrette that I actively disliked until this meal. Thankfully, my fiancé had a much better experience. He ordered an enchilada and said it was one of the top five enchiladas he's ever had, so clearly there are some standout dishes on the menu. That definitely made me curious about trying something different if I ever return. I also really enjoyed that they offer hibiscus tea. I was very happy to see it on the menu, although I personally think it would be better served on its own rather than incorporated into one of their mixed drinks. The drink itself was just okay, but the hibiscus flavor was great. Overall, I can see why this place has become an Austin staple, but I think the experience could be improved significantly by making the waitlist process much clearer online and by improving the consistency of some of the food. The menu has a lot of potential, and clearly, some dishes are excellent! Unfortunately, mine just wasn't one of them.

Special shout out to Alanis for being the absolute best. I'm not joking when I say that she was 60-70% of the reason I came back the next day. Don't get me wrong, the food is PHENOMENAL but the experience was even better. Parking is somewhat limited in the parking lot, however there's plenty of street parking just south on College and Oltorf. The griddle cakes were GIANT. I typically have no problem conquering any breakfast plate but this....well, everything is bigger in Texas as they say. If you're a solo traveler, order a single and ask about their seasonal. They had a baked apple seasonal option while I was there and it was amazing. Traditional breakfasts are also delicious and far more manageable. Coffee was never ending and flavorful, not "diner coffee". I'll gladly come back the next time I'm in town.

For food, we ordered the blackened catfish, brisket burnt ends quesadillas, and harvest bowl to share. Everything was delicious and served quickly, even with the aforementioned dinner rush. 10/10 would order the same items again. I was so appreciative of the server splitting the entree over two plates without us asking. Did I mention the complimentary popcorn and cornbread? Twas a FEAST. We arrived and in a few minutes we were seated at a table and immediately given water in mason jars and asked for our drink order. I opted just got an Arnold Palmer but the drink menu had some cute cocktails and mocktails, as well as a nice selection of beer and wine. Instead of bread, our server brought us a basket of seasoned popcorn. The popcorn had almost like a Cajun flair, but it wasn't spicy. It reminded me of the Ground Round chain from when I was a little girl. We decided to try the corndog shrimp appetizer. I couldn't decide on an entree because everything looked so good, so I did the Parmesan chicken and my coworker did the steak salad. The shrimp arrived so quickly with four large pieces of shrimp on a stick wrapped in corn dog batter and fried to a golden brown, with a blueberry mustard dipping sauce. The shrimp were delicious and while I didn't get much of the blueberry in the mustard, I enjoyed the sweetness it provided. My Parmesan chicken was a crispy and juicy breaded chicken cutlet with a lemon cream, artichoke hearts, and what appeared to be prosciutto on top. It was served with a side of pesto couscous with grape tomatoes and cucumbers. I wish I had ordered mashed potatoes on the side, because I wanted something to soak up the lemon cream sauce, which was the highlight of the chicken. We also were served 3 mini cornbread muffins with honey butter. My coworker said the salad was just okay, and was a little on the small side. The desserts were definitely a MUST and if you visit Moonshine and don't save room for the Espresso Brownie or the Peanut Butter Pie, you're going to regret it. The brownie was so fudgey and warm and served with ice cream. It was decadent. The peanut butter pie was the biggest slab of PB pie I've ever had with a thick Oreo crust. I wish I had someone with me to share it, it was huge. Overall, if I lived in the area I would definitely be back to try other things.
