Terrible experience. Beautiful location on the strand, shame that the place was so disappointing.

I was invited by a friend for drinks, and it turned into one of the highlights of my time in Beverly Hills. From the moment I stepped into the beautifully decorated floral elevator, I knew I was in for a special experience. Located on the third floor of Christian Dior, Monsieur Dior by Dominique Crenn has an atmosphere that is both refined and welcoming. I sat at the elegant bar overlooking the beautiful terrace, creating the perfect setting for a relaxed evening. We began with champagne, which paired beautifully with the hors d'oeuvres. We then enjoyed the Tuna Violette Bouquet and the onion tart, both beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. To finish, I ordered an Old Fashioned, and the bartenders prepared it exactly as it should be--perfectly balanced and expertly crafted. The service was exceptional from start to finish. The bartenders were knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely passionate about their craft. It was also a pleasure meeting the restaurant's manager, whose warm hospitality made the experience even more memorable.

Right next to the restaurant was a Dior boutique where the plates and tableware were displayed and sold. On the first and second floors, you could explore everything from Dior handbags to the brand's iconic collections. On the third floor was an exclusive restaurant that felt like a hidden gem just for us. The décor was incredibly impressive, elegant, and thoughtfully designed. Everyone seemed relaxed and comfortable, which made the atmosphere even more enjoyable. Each dish was beautifully presented with its own unique artistic touch. The food was refined, delicious, and visually stunning. Every plate felt like a work of art, and the entire experience made me feel so happy and grateful. It was truly a memorable birthday celebration.

My husband has type 1 diabetes so we very rarely eat at Italian ristorantes. Chef Tara has helped us rediscover a new world of flavor without negative impacts on my husband's blood sugar and cholesterol. (Thanks for the variety of non-dairy cheeses!!) Tip for first-timers: go when you can have the brunch or the lunch menu. Then you'll have so many options that you'll have to return! Round 1 Polpettine (meatballs) are made from lentils and texture similar to the real ones; lovely marinara sauce and ground macadamia nut instead of parmesan. Complement this with the citrus notes that highlight the sauteed swiss chard with earthy Italian butter / gigante beans. Round 2 The same beans are in the Greek goddess salad: rich with tomatoes, kalamata olives, and fresh red onions. This was a visually stunning and paired well with the Sicilian almond 'tuna' melt. The tuna is by far the most imaginative. Again, Chef Tara and the back of the house nailed the texture and I loved the hints of crunchy celery. The capers injected tiny bursts of salt and tartness. The only moderation I'd consider is slightly crisping / toasting the sandwich bread -- but the tuna melt sando is great as it is. Pura Vida is a diamond in the rough especially because the storefront is pretty discreet. I sure wish that we lived closer. We'll be back for special occasions in our life!

The spicy tuna kimbap was pretty standard, the prime rib cheesesteak was a little salty, and the mushroom noodles were good. The wings and kimbap came out quickly, but after we finished our appetizers, we waited about 30 minutes for our entrees. We later found out that our server had gone on his lunch break, but no one had let us know, so we weren't sure what was going on. Once he returned, our entrees came out shortly afterward. Without us asking, the restaurant ended up comping our entrees to make up for the delay, which we appreciated. Overall, considering the food, service, and value, the experience was okay. While I appreciated how they handled the service delay, it's not somewhere I would specifically seek out to return, but it was a decent meal. They are on the exclusive tables list with the chase sapphire reserve so you could use your opentable credit which is a plus.

Funny, because before…read moreI read this, my immediate reaction when I walked in the door this weekend was that it reminded me of some of the breezy upscale restaurants I grew up with at the Jersey Shore. And, Miami. And even at the marinas in San Diego, San Francisco, and Sausalito. The Henry is very large and open, yet, with all the light streaming in, the soft blues and greys keep the atmosphere sophisticated, subdued, and cool. You immediately feel the calm and these days, especially in the city, we can use a good deal of decompressing. It was almost an audible "aaaahhhhh" that my brain whispered when we sat down at our roomy booth. We were there for brunch and the menu was wonderful for me, a lifelong vegetarian. There were multiple items I wanted to try but I usually stick to an appetizer, main, dessert, and beverage. I am not a big eater at one sitting. Between us, everything we ordered was superb. The descriptions were pretty familiar, but the tastes were elevated. And the presentations were unique too -- see my photos. Michael, our server, was efficient but warm and friendly too. That makes such a difference. From beginning to end he took care of us, checking occasionally to get our enthusiastic thumbs-up, and then bringing us sturdy containers and a roomy thick shopping bag to take home the leftovers. We stuffed ourselves but still took home half of the generous portions we were given. The tab was beyond reasonable too, especially for Beverly Hills! Nice music -- not too loud, just enough to give a cheerful vibe in the background; clean appointments; quality furnishings; giant spotless windows; pretty wallcoverings; comfortable seating -- everything was just right, Goldilocks-worthy. This is the kind of place to return to again and again. Garage parking at the complex for $15 was so easy, clean surroundings in the neighborhood with some famous retail nearby for browsing, just 40 minutes from home. IOW, perfect!

There is also an outside patio and bar top to further spread out the clientele. The colors are nice and neutral on the inside and it builds a very intimate dining experience. The service was a highlight for the experience. Carson was very friendly and attentive. You know the memes that show people stuffing their face and the staff come to check on them saying, "How's everything, is the food to your liking?" and they can only let out a muffled "MMHMM?" We had that experience here. The only let down we had was with some of the food. The salad and the Club sandwich were great. The wagyu burger could have used seasoning- it felt like the meat itself was not the star of the dish, but only a texture. Its flavor was not brought out. Moreover, the fries were over seasoned and felt quite salty even without any dipping sauce. I enjoy my fries with ranch but the fries were too strong for ranch and it was overpowering. The cheese for the pretzel bites were also lacking in flavor. Lastly the pot stickers could have used a bit more filling because they were literally quite flat. Therefore, it's a 4/5 for me.
