I gotta tell you, I absolutely love this place! Every time I come to Cedars-Sinai, I tell myself, "I've gotta stop by The Henry!" And let me tell you, The Henry does not disappoint! This place is super bougie, and I mean that in the best way possible! The only other location I've been to was on Coronado Island, and both have been fantastic. The atmosphere is beautiful, the service is excellent, and the food is amazing! I ordered the spicy avocado roll, the rainbow bowl, and some chips with avocado. Everything was delicious! They have such a great variety of dishes, including sushi, and the quality is top-notch. I came in solo and grabbed a seat at the bar, and what a great experience! The place is lively, energetic, and full of people having a good time. If you love a bougie atmosphere, great people-watching, and an upbeat vibe, this is definitely the spot! Now, I have to give a special shout-out to the bartender Deegan! This guy knows what he's doing! I ordered a cocktail, and it was absolutely out of this world. The flavor, the horseradish, everything was exactly how I wanted it! That's what I call a great bartender. I was so impressed that I tipped him extra on top of what I'd already left on the bill. I had a last minute dinner meeting here with a friend & we opted to dine on the patio. The service was SUPERB! Billy was our friendly, knowledgeable server who made sure everything was perfect. His recommendations were spot-on & we had such an enjoyable experience. Our food was served lightning fast...in literally less than 10 minutes! My friend noshed on the pressed yellowtail sushi while I opted for the Wagyu burger, prepared medium-well. We ended up sharing a molten butter cake for dessert. It was very generously sized (a mini-cake to be exact but it was enough for three hefty slices) & topped with a decadent scoop of vanilla gelato with pretzel toffee in the center. And just when we thought it couldn't get better, our server poured warm caramel sauce over it...WHAT?!?!!!! I will say that the sauce tasted more like butterscotch than caramel but it was still heavenly. I'm looking forward to returning & trying other menu options. read more

We tried the pasta bolognese, mac & cheese, and filet with asparagus and a loaded potato. Everything looked fine, but for a restaurant at this price point, I expected much more in both presentation and flavor. The dishes were fairly basic and nothing really stood out or made me want to order it again. The filet was cooked well but missing a char and flavor, but the overall plate felt a little uninspired, and the pastas were missing that richness and depth of flavor I was hoping for. Somewere on their website, The Henry says they want to make you feel at home. Funny, because before I read this, my immediate reaction when I walked in the door this weekend was that it reminded me of some of the breezy upscale restaurants I grew up with at the Jersey Shore. And, Miami. And even at the marinas in San Diego, San Francisco, and Sausalito. The Henry is very large and open, yet, with all the light streaming in, the soft blues and greys keep the atmosphere sophisticated, subdued, and cool. You immediately feel the calm and these days, especially in the city, we can use a good deal of decompressing. It was almost an audible "aaaahhhhh" that my brain whispered when we sat down at our roomy booth. We were there for brunch and the menu was wonderful for me, a lifelong vegetarian. There were multiple items I wanted to try but I usually stick to an appetizer, main, dessert, and beverage. I am not a big eater at one sitting. Between us, everything we ordered was superb. The descriptions were pretty familiar, but the tastes were elevated. And the presentations were unique too -- see my photos. Michael, our server, was efficient but warm and friendly too. That makes such a difference. From beginning to end he took care of us, checking occasionally to get our enthusiastic thumbs-up, and then bringing us sturdy containers and a roomy thick shopping bag to take home the leftovers. We stuffed ourselves but still took home half of the generous portions we were given. The tab was beyond reasonable too, especially for Beverly Hills! Nice music -- not too loud, just enough to give a cheerful vibe in the background; clean appointments; quality furnishings; giant spotless windows; pretty wallcoverings; comfortable seating -- everything was just right, Goldilocks-worthy. I came to the Henry for the first time with a party of 4. The ambiance was great- I often get annoyed by brunch spots that are too Gaudy and packed, but the Henry has ample seating, space, and comfort. There is also an outside patio and bar top to further spread out the clientele. The colors are nice and neutral on the inside and it builds a very intimate dining experience. The service was a highlight for the experience. Carson was very friendly and attentive. You know the memes that show people stuffing their face and the staff come to check on them saying, "How's everything, is the food to your liking?" and they can only let out a muffled "MMHMM?" We had that experience here. The only let down we had was with some of the food. The salad and the Club sandwich were great. The wagyu burger could have used seasoning- it felt like the meat itself was not the star of the dish, but only a texture. Its flavor was not brought out. Moreover, the fries were over seasoned and felt quite salty even without any dipping sauce. I enjoy my fries with ranch but the fries were too strong for ranch and it was overpowering. The cheese for the pretzel bites were also lacking in flavor. Lastly the pot stickers could have used a bit more filling because they were literally quite flat. Went there for an event. Perfect place to meet people for a nice chat. It's upscale, but not stuffy or trendy feeling. We sat outside. Nick, our server, provided outstanding service. The main entrance is off the courtyard, not right off the street, although if you only want the bar, then there's an entrance off the street that does not lead to the restaurant. Saved you a few steps. It was a very enjoyable experience. Again, it's upscale casual, and the prices reflect it, but they aren't out of control. The signature cocktails were $19. The food was fine, portions on the smaller side, but OK. For an appetizer, we had pretzels and fondue. $18. You get plenty of them, and they were really good! Perfect for sharing. For the main course, I had the seared tuna chopped salad. $27. The dressing was perfectly light. It was a good salad. Again, the portions are not large, but the quality was good. One of my friends had the steak Diane, $61. She gave it 4 out of 5. It was perfectly cooked. She also had a scoop of ice cream. $5. Not bad for that kinda' place. They have a great payment system I've never seen. There's a QR code on the bill, and you can pay for your part of the meal, or pay for whatever you want to. It's really easy and takes the hassle out of splitting the bill, and makes it easier for the server not to have to do separate checks. Great idea! Very enjoyable experience all around. read more

A few hours was $5 (confirmed on my statement). I don't know how much street parking is or what the restrictions are. For starters, servicew as super friendly. Checked in a good amount and somehow kept everything timed well even after the place started filling up. Don't know if it was all DineLA but as I walked out, I didn't see any empty tables inside. There's outdoor seating and there were some tables available. Started off with the short rib potstickers. These were ok. I wish they were served hotter but even so, the super tender filling had a nice flavor. I'd like to try these again but served hot. For my main, went with the Korean prime skirt steak. Rare. And it came out exactly how I asked. See pics. Rich flavor. A little sweet and a little smoky. Meat was tender and juicy. I would have enjoyed the rice more if the ingredients were diced. Again see pics. It was like I'd have this veggie chunk amongst grains of rice. I enjoyed the taste though. Almost forgot - I never just order the Dine LA offerings. Added a Caesar Salad and the Pretzels with Provolone Foundue. The salad was fresh. Standard. Not over dresssed. The Fondue was a little salty or as hot as I would have liked. This was my least liked dish. The rest was great! Including the dessert. If you're a chocoholic, this one will is a don't skip. Dense. Rich. I've had this place on my bucket list for awhile and I'm sad to say that it was a bit of a let down. The atmosphere is really beautiful, and the service was wonderful, but the food is just way too expensive for what it is. I met up with my friend here for lunch on a Monday, and we had no problem getting a table, it wasn't too busy, and I was able to find street parking about a block down. Or you can pay $15 for the lot that's right behind it. I got the Fish Tacos and it was $30 for 2 sad little tacos and a side of quinoa rice. My friend got the harvest salad, added chicken, and a coke. For all that it was almost an $80 lunch. Insane pricing. This place is cute but not $80 cute. read more

The Henry is beautifully decorated and has a lot of potential, but the service is the worse we have had in a very long time. Our waitress took our drink order and we didn't see her again for 20 minutes. She mentioned she had too many tables sat at once. This is where management should have stepped in to help her. She took our order, a very simple salad with chicken and a breakfast scramble. FORTY minutes later we received my salad and an omelette. Who ordered the omelette?! This experience was like night and day compared to our last visit -- this time, everything was superb! Nick, the manager, was SUPER cool, and our server, Ariana (I hope I got her name right!), was an absolute doll and the definition of professionalism. I decided to try something different from the menu this time, and let me tell you, by the time I said, "Take a picture..." my food was gone! That's how good it was. My mother and I both had the Turkey Reuben -- hers with fries and mine with the apple kale salad. My mom even mentioned to Nick that the sweet potato fries should definitely be added to the menu! My dad ordered breakfast and wanted sausage... no sausage... BACON ONLY! Work on that, The Henry! Thanks to Larissa, we decided to give The Henry another try, and I'm so glad we did. The Henry is a very popular restaurant in the heart of Coronado It's a large, bright and open restaurant with a clean urban decor. There is even a separate coffee and pastry bar on one side. The staff is very friendly as are the customers many who seem to know each other. We were fortunate enough to find seats at the bar because the wait was almost an hour if you didn't have reservations (it was a holiday week). I had the hazelnut cappuccino which was very tasty but a lot. I had to get a to-go cup at the end. For breakfast we ordered the breakfast sandwich and the breakfast enchiladas. Both were very yummy and filling. I especially love the soft bun from the sandwich and their breakfast potatoes are so good, crispy with crisped onions. This restaurant is in a really good location. When I have arrived my date mentioned that there was no wait time which is a plus. We were seated immediately, and ordered our first round of drinks. The waiter was polite, and he was very attentive. With my salmon entree I paired it with the Napa Vallet Chardonnay, one of the best combos if you asked me. The salmon was well done, loved the yogurt or the white creamy sauce at the bottom. The potatoes were great, soft but firm. I fairly enjoyed my outing at this restaurant. I will come back to taste their round of oysters. The Uptown Cocktail was my drink of choice while the bartender obliged me to make it not too sweet. It was perfect. My late lunch ended up being the Harvest Bowl with grilled shrimp add on. Delicious flavor for most of it and overly grateful that the bartender offered me some Cholula to spice it up a bit. There's lots of options in this nice setting. This location in West Hollywood has been here for some time and I haven't been back since my first time here many moons ago. We came here for my friend's birthday brunch, and I arrived before my friend did and was able to tell our waiter that it was her birthday, which he did not forget and brought her out a birthday cake with a candle, which I truly appreciated. The surprise really made her day. Our food was really good and our waiter was amazing. The reason for the four stars is that we ordered short rib potstickers, however, they were never brought to us. We've been to The Henry many times before and used to really like it, but this visit was absolutely terrible. The $41 sea bass was awful -- full of huge bones (I almost poked the roof of my mouth), with unnecessary breading, weird carrots in tomato sauce, and wilted arugula thrown on top. For $41, this quality is unacceptable. Our child's cheeseburger was dry, the bun was burnt inside, and the French fries were ridiculously tiny -- some were less than an inch long. My husband's burger was cold in the middle. Honestly, I'm not surprised the restaurant was almost empty. Very disappointing, especially compared to our previous experiences. read more

We came for a friends birthday and sat in a long marble table inside and were helped attentively through out! Their ahi plate had good ingredients with some cut veggies/fungus was also a bit soupy. The flavor was overall underwhelming compared to the brussel sprouts but certainly still good. The tuna had nice chunks and tased like decent quality. Their cocktails were also nicely crafted with good ingredients, and plenty of quality liquor. Plenty boozy and a good range on their menu! I loved the Uptown margarita most and enjoyed the spicy and the smoked pineapple margaritas. Prices are right around what you would expect for this area of town. It's literally right across the street from The Ivy- L.A. people-watching at its best, if you're into that type of thing. We've been coming to The Henry for years and have always enjoyed it as a comfortable, reliable neighborhood spot, so today's experience was especially disappointing. We were seated outside with our 4.5-pound Yorkshire terrier. The restaurant is advertised as dog-friendly, and we've brought him before without issue. He was initially sitting on the outdoor bench cushion between us when an employee who was not even our server came over and told us he had to be on the ground. Fine -- we understand restaurants have health-code rules, so we put him on the ground. Because he is a tiny lap dog, he eventually started whining, so I put him on my lap. The same employee came over again and very aggressively told us the dog couldn't be on the cushion. Later, after repeatedly hearing that he could not be on the cushion, I briefly put him on the chair instead. Again, the employee came over and reprimanded us. At that point, what could have been a simple and polite explanation of the restaurant's policy felt like we were being monitored and harassed throughout our meal. What made the experience particularly frustrating was that the couple seated immediately next to us had a much larger dog sitting directly on the same type of outdoor sofa cushion. Nobody said anything to them. After they left and we finished eating, I went inside and calmly asked the employee why we had been repeatedly singled out while the dog at the next table was allowed on the furniture. He explained that a health inspector had previously photographed another dog with its paws on a table eating French fries, with him visible in the background, and that the incident had reflected poorly on him. I can completely understand why that experience would make someone careful about enforcing the rules. But none of that was explained to us while we were eating, and it does not explain why the rule was repeatedly and aggressively enforced against our table while a much larger dog was plainly sitting on the cushion immediately next to us. He simply said he "didn't see" that dog. Further, our dog was sitting calmly, not eating off our the table. We understand health-code requirements and would have been perfectly receptive to a polite explanation of the policy. What we did not appreciate was being repeatedly confronted throughout our meal while the exact same rule was apparently not being enforced at the table next to us. My pregnant wife was extremely uncomfortable with the entire interaction, and what should have been a relaxing Saturday meal turned into a genuinely unpleasant experience. After years of coming here, we left feeling like we really don't want to come back. A dog-friendly restaurant can absolutely have rules about where dogs are allowed -- but those rules should be communicated respectfully and enforced consistently. read more

We ordered the Wagyu burger, egg white turkey omelette with potatoes, & a side of bagels. The food was decent but very bland--nothing stood out, & we had to add salt for flavor to everything. Portions were small, with barely any avocado or pico, and not very filling. The bagels were good, but they gave very little cream cheese and even charged extra for more, which bad barely enough for one side of a beagle. Service was a bit disappointing. Our server was nice but It wasn't busy, yet our server rarely checked on us--we had to refill our own water & go get the pitcher. They also don't clearly mention when choosing sides it cost extra, which can add up quickly but a heads up would have been appreciated. Overall, we paid about $65 for two & left underwhelmed. I would objectively say this last experience is even worse than the one before. I placed an order and before anything was delivered at all the waitress immediately gave me the bill. I didn't even have anything in front of me to eat or drink. Terrible customer service. Actually none at all. read more
