As someone who does not eat meat, I was a little less than excited about getting dinner at the Steakout with my family as I assumed there would be no options for me. I then realized they had seafood, woohoo! I ordered the pan-fried shrimp. These were absolutely amazing, the shrimp were more so prawns as they were HUGE and very meaty. The breading was perfectly crisp and very light. My mom ordered the pan-fried wall-eye which I tried and found to be very delicious as well. Crisp and tender on the inside. The biggest disappointment was the salad and side of broccoli. The broccoli was cold, the butter wouldn't even melt on it. The salad was literally basically from a bag of iceberg salad mix you'd buy at the store. I would expect a little more from a supper club/somewhere with a pricy menu. I didn't even bother after a few bites because it wasn't worth wasting my appetite on. I have been to Milwaukee a number of times and usually end up staying near the airport. There are definitely limited choices in that part of town. After doing a Yelp search I became interested in this restaurant. Upon entering the restaurant it's a very old Timey feel with an old bar and very dark. Dining alone I usually sit at the bar. The service was excellent the food was excellent. I ended up ordering a filet mignon which was cooked very well. This is a supper club and I was the only one that was sitting by myself not knowing anyone else in the restaurant. It was like I had stumbled into someone's house with a bunch of friends over and I knew no one. They were very friendly but not my crowd. read more

My husband took me here on the recommendation of a friend of his who gave this place shining reviews. We walked in and stood by the entrance for over twenty minutes, not being acknowledged by any of the staff members or the bartender who was less than ten feet away. We finally sat at a table near the bar (no spaces were available at the actual bar) where another couple had apparently been waiting for even longer than us without being taken care of. To be fair, there was a company Christmas party in the main dining area, however, it was poor service for no staff member to even say they would be with us shortly. My husband got us a glass of wine and a drink from the bar, and we sat around for over an hour before being seated. After about 45 minutes, a waitress came up to us and stated she would try to seat us as soon as she could. The food itself was pretty good, which is the only reason I gave this 2 stars. I feel like it was horrible customer service, and not even an offer to comp our first round of drinks for the wait time and lack of service. If it weren't for the fact that we had a gift certificate to use up, we would've walked out and never looked back. I really wanted to like this place, as it is a restaurant close to me and I have heard such good things from others. I just can't after that experience. Went on a Saturday night. 6 people and we had reservations. The service was spot on and food was delicious! I had the NY strip and it was sooo good. Very big piece of meat, so I had leftovers - yum! I took my wife here last night around 7:30 for dinner, and the service was great from our waitress Michelle, we both ordered filets, she ordered hers medium rare, and it was medium to well done, over cooked. I ordered mine medium and it was extra well done to the point of black, charred, burnt on the outside, I actually had to cut off the top and bottom of the steak of to get rid of most of the burnt taste. this is by far the worst steak I have ever had from an establishment. Stopped in early Friday for the fish fry without a reservation. We were seated immediately. Good drinks to start. I had a lemon drop. It was PERFECT. We both had the perch. It was good and maybe six or seven pieces! Might try the cod though if I came back to town. The onion soup was forgettable: few onions, too many croutons and cheese was rubbery. My fourth time at this restaurant, and I'd have to say the waiter or waitresses can make or break your experience at a fine dining establishment. Our waitress seemed lackadaisical in taking our order, after we sat for 20 mins after being seated. We also already had drinks from the bar so it's not like we were waiting on drinks. The table next to us were seated after us and we're already being served their salads. I actually got up and asked another waitress if she knew where she was. She then abruptly came to the table and used the excuse that she was splitting our bill. Funny we only had a $20. Bottle of wine and an Ice tea, the other couple had payed for his beer at the bar. Anyway,the food was top notch as usual But I have to say I didn't have great waitress and that makes or breaks your whole dining experience. Another thing my friend ordered an Old-fashioned, who delivers-such a drink and then asks if they want cherries or olives? It's already been served ! I've heard great things from other people who have eaten here but our dining experience was not the case. We dined on New Year's Eve and the place was so crowded and the reservations unorganized and overbooked. We were a party of ten that had reservations for 6 pm and didn't get seated until 7 pm. The hostess didn't give us menus when we sat down because they were still trying to set the table. The menu was limited and fixed. There was only ONE option for the kid's menu, only ONE appetizer (mushrooms) and NO DESSERT options. I wanted to order champagne but they only had Sparkling Muscato. I ordered the Filet Minon and asked for it butterflied and medium-well and received it medium-rare and it was cold. Picture attached. The bar staff was dressed provocatively which is very unusual for a supper club atmosphere. You would normally see bar staff dressed like that at a Downtown Bar. No one apologized for the wait and we were not compensated in any way either. Overbooked reservations, underwhelming food, OVER-RATED! The Steakout restaurant was off the charts fantastic across the board. We have been to hundreds of great steak houses over the years all across the United States. But never did we have a meal and service that was perfection. I took a large party for the first time last night to celebrate my birthday at The Steakout Restaurant. All of us ordered different types of steaks. Besides all the great fresh sides all the steaks were cooked perfectly to our orders. By far this meal was perfect all the way around and was one of the best steaks we ever had by leaps and bounds. The service was just as good as the food. It being a very busy Saturday night, one would think perfect service would be hard. We had a wonderful waitress named Sarah who not only gave us A1 service but her extremely pleasant personality increased our experience even more. As busy as she was her service was flawless as we watched her work her other tables. In today's competition of restaurant quality in food and service, Sarah's kind and friendly personality was the icing on the night which enhanced our experience even that much more. Without a doubt The Steakout restaurant will always be our number one choice. We highly recommended this restaurant to anyone that would like to experience the WOW factor. My wife and I have eaten at The Steakout before and were not impressed. We received a gift certificate for our 40th anniversary for the restaurant and we decided to give it another try. I ordered the Steak Sicilian, My wife the JR. strip steak. When our food arrived I took a bite of my steak and it had an off taste and and even a bad smell like it was going bad. My wife's steak was OK but she said it was grisly. I sent my steak back only to have the waitress tell me it was the seasonings I smelled But they offered to cook me a new steak. ( I do know the difference between a bad steak and the smell of seasonings.) When the new steak came it was raw.. not even rare. We were visiting the China lights display in nearby Hales Corners. The restaurant we had planned to visit closed early (8PM!) and so we found The Steakout on Yelp. The food was excellent as was our waitress. It wasn't crowded on a Sunday night and the ambiance was nice...kind of a cozy local place. We all had the chop steak which was very good but there were some very unusual touches I have not seen in an American restaurant since I was a kid sixty years ago. Just little things that most might believe to be insignificant but they mattered to our party of four. (1) sautéed mushrooms were included with your steak...normally an a la carte up-charge. (2) a relish tray with assorted veggies and black olives...a definite throwback...way, way back and very enjoyable while you await your salad, soup or meal. (3) a slice of candied apple served with the steak entree...another throwback...way, way,way back! Although my wife's filet was done correctly, my bone-in Ribeye, at $40, was at the same time burn't on one end and almost raw on the other. After one attempt to go there, and being thwarted by a long wait, I decided to try again based on a recommendation of a client. We arrived shortly after they opened, and the place was very quiet. Not many folks want to miss the Packers in the playoffs, I guess. We were seated promptly, drinks were ordered, delivered, along with a relish tray and bread. The bread should have been warmed, which may have also helped with the concrete butter. Other than that, it was good bread. We both had the 14 oz Filet Mignon, which came with soup or salad, and a choice of sides.I went with the salad and hash browns for the side. My filet was wonderful, and I was happy with the rest of my dinner. Dessert was something of a disappointment, as it was still hard from being frozen. I'm sure it was supposed to be chilled, but I had trouble cutting it with my fork. Would I go back? In a heartbeat! But I'd try the rib eye, and maybe skip dessert. read more

Love the Steakout! It is an old fashioned supper club! The staff is wonderful, from the hostess, to the servers, to the awesome bartenders. It's kind of like Cheers where the staff knows many of the patrons by name. When we are looking for a good steak, this is always our go to place. Once you are seated the waitress brings out a relish try and bread. I always order the Jr filet with baked potato. Instead of salad, I have to have their French Onion soup. Very yummy! After dinner, we usually head to the bar and watch some sports on one of their many TV's. The bartenders are very attentive and great to talk with. Very disappointed. I would love to say the food was great but after sitting for an hour and a half, with a reservation, and never getting a table we had to leave. So never got to try. Was told twice "we are clearing the table now". It seems if you are a regular you get that special treatment I read about before making the reservation but other than that too bad, too sad for you. Had a nice Saturday dinner here. Nice atmosphere, everyone was welcoming. Had cocktails at the bar first - bartenders were friendly and helpful. Two of us had the grilled prime rib good steak done perfectly. Two had filets also done as ordered. One order with the tiger shrimp adder described in two words - large and delicious. Made reservations for a group of friends to enjoy a nice dinner before going to a wedding reception that do not serve dinner. The waitstaff was friendly but did not communicate well with each other at all. We were a pretty big group in the corner of the restaurant and at one point a wedding party asked if they could take pictures over there we agreed and then our food came out. We didn't expect them to take pictures for 20 minutes while we tried to enjoy our dinner that was extremely over priced for what you get. My wife and I were looking forward to a really nice steak and lobster dinner. Many of her friends have recommended to go here so we did for our first time. I ordered the New York strip medium rare plus and the steak came out rare. My wife ordered two lobster tails at $64. The lobster tails were severely overcooked, very chewy so we told the waitress so she said that the manager would come out. When the manager came out she never introduced herself or her position. Her first words were "do you guys have a question"?I looked at my wife that said no we have a lobster that's been over cooked and we told the waitress. She then stated what's your question then, my wife ate almost half of the 1st tail and couldn't eat anymore. She rarely gets lobster and didn't know what to expect and she was hungry so she keep eating. I tied it and it was so tough. I looked at the manager and said you know what never mind. The manager was not sympathetic or offered a free desert or half off the bill. It was definitely the worst service from a Managers perspective I have ever encountered. She could've introduced yourself and said we apologize that your lobster was overcooked can we offer you a $25 gift card which word of probably brought us back to buy more drinks and food however we will never come back and will never have anything good to say about the restaurant read more

I kept hearing mixed reviews about this reatraraunt for years. So my friend and I decided to go here for lunch. It was the worst experience I ever encountered! From the waitress/manager to the food. The waitress/manager was the rudest person I ever encountered in food service. I worked in fine dining for many, many years. Our baked potatoes were cold and hard as a rock! I asked if the potatoes were from the night before and she said No. That was simply a lie! We asked for hot potatoes and we were told it would take 8 minutes. 8 minutes while the food we ordered, sat on our table getting colder and colder. We had ordered shrimp. Needless to say, the shrimp were tastless. No seasonings at all! The waitress did confirm this, as we brought it to her attention. She charged me $25 for 3 shrimp and a cup of soup. She didn't care if the food was good, or cold! She also refused to let the chef know. She just wanted the check to be paid. She never asked if everything was okay. She then argued with us. She agrued with my friend about several food items and basically accused her of being a liar! There were other people eating in the restaurant and over heard everything! She was rude to an elderly gentleman as well. He was celebrating his 80th birthday! I was astonished of her remark! I can't understand why any restaurant would have this women representing them in any position in their company!! Word is mouth is a powerful tool. We will never go there again!! read more

Ah, the supper club. I don't go to a lot of supper clubs, but we eat at The Steakout (great name) once a year with my extended family. And it's always a good time. I'm not a huge steak guy, but the Prime Rib I had here was delicious, and so were the shrimp that I have had every other time. Go fried though... the broiled are more work than they're worth. I would say this place is definitely overpriced, but the food is pretty good and the people are very accomodating. read more

The service was great, friendly and attentive. The food was outdated and bland. The menu is somewhat misleading, as I ordered the walleye which was stated as being pan fried, but came out breaded and deep fried. It was just boring. For a restaurant in the middle of nowhere to offer no happy hours or specials and have prices comparable to say The Capitol Grille in downtown Milwaukee is just asking for failure, I'm surprised it's lasted this long. Yesterday was our anniversary, and this place was recommended to us. First an foremost, I don't understand why you need to make a reservation when they aren't prompt about it. As we were seated, I see the waitresses working VERY hard, running back and forth, but what really threw me through the roof was while they are "cleaning" these tables (especially during pandemic) that they just flip the table cloths around the opposite way.. using the same ones for different customers REPEATEDLY. Anyways, for spending over a hundred dollars for two people, you would think that you would be served better bread and butter. Mind you, it was cold and tasted VERY old.. not house made. And the butter was also cold, and hard as a brick. How did you expect us to spread it??? When I received the filet mignon, it was so rough on the outside, and overly charred. My "steamed broccoli" was basically raw, and room temperate, and my baked potato was dry. So overall, I don't know what the hype was about. You guys have old windows on the outside that obviously need to be updated, and I'm pretty positive you have the money for it, CONSIDERING what you charge for what you call food. You have paint chipping on your walls, and your servers are overworked, obviously because they barely stop to check on their tables. Lower your prices and get better cooks. read more

Nice setting with dark, intimate feel. While I liked the darker lighting, a few at our table felt it was too dark. My meal (Seafood Combo) was very good overall. While no one seafood item jumped out as fantastic, the entire meal as a whole was very good. The French Onion Soup and the Hash Browns were wonderful. read more
