Essentially a small convenience store with mostly specialty items from Europe, Poland in particular. Breads sold appear to be from a bakery in Chicago. The meat case has a handful of selections, as does the sandwich board, 6 sandwiches to be exact: ham, salami, turkey, roast beef, Canadian Bacon, and a sandwich of the week, which was also turkey this week, but with a different cheese than their standard turkey. I ordered the ham sandwich and my friend ordered the salami sandwich. We both added a raspberry paczki. The sandwiches were served on a fresh hard roll and were generously topped. I thought they were a great value for $5.75. I'd like to go back again and shop for Polish food items and soups from their freezer, as well as some of the other items in the store. I received as Christmas gift certificate for $100.00 in 2023 . Owner refused honor it at march 2025. The store is carrying same name , I would assume when buying business previous arrangements including gift cards will be honored . Very unfriendly person servicing customers almost as it was prison sentence to be there. read more

I went there to get a sandwich which they advertise. When I asked the guy at the deli, he was so rude after a couple minutes of waiting in line and flat out said we are not doing sandwiches today. No sorry or any explanation. I ended up just buying chips. I asked the register guy if they sell sandwiches on certain days. He said "I don't know about today with a smirk." The cash register didn't even know what's going on or why they weren't doing sandwiches. The encounter with the deli guy just felt so rude and I am a very understanding person. I absolutely love this place. They carry the best chrusciki around and their sandwiches on hard rolls are absolutely wonderful. The aroma alone when walking in is heavenly, and they are always a pleasure to deal with. It's always one of my first stops when getting back to Milwaukee. read more

While shopping in the area I wanted some lunch so I stoped here because a deli sandwich sounded good. The place is on the side/back of a strip mall. I stopped here years ago looking for some home made heat and serve goodies but they really didn't have much and a sandwich was about all I could get to take with me. The store is small but they have modest deli items, liquor, beer, magazines, can goods, jar goods, refrigerated items etc. After looking around I walked up to the counter and ordered a sandwich and the woman said something I didn't want to hear, did she just say the deli is out of rolls so I go excuse me. YEP she said the deli has no rolls left to make the sandwiches, are you Fuck#ng kidding me, your a deli that's open and you can't make a sandwich. Does tomorrow's opener bring the rolls in with them to make the sandwiches, how will they make the sandwiches tomorrow when they open up. Well sh#t I'm already here so I grabbed some dry sausage thing which after tasting would work in a chowder/soup/gumbo I thought. Extensive variety of European treats in a small space. There's no seating here and only 3 or 4 aisles to shop in and that makes it easy for a quick visit, however, i spent a fair amount of time checking everything out on one of my visits because they carry unique items and lots of it is printed in Polish and other languages. The people that run this place are super friendly and have a regular clientele. The deli counter has smoked meats, cold cuts and cheeses, etc. and in the aisles they have Polish beer, liquor, candy (some even contains alcohol), various condiments, pickled veggies, jams, canned herring, and plenty more. They even have a small refrigerator/ frozen section with cold single bottle beers, more smoked meats, perogies, hunter stew, and Czarnnina. There's a small self serve bakery section and when we recently stopped in on a Sunday for hot ham and rolls a gentlemen ahead of me got the last few remaining rolls. We got lucky however, minutes later an oven bell rang and fresh rolls were out of the oven and into a paper bag for us as we checked out. During the week they will gladly make you a tasty sandwich with generous portions. I had the roast beef and the Mrs had a ham sandwich. This place is a hidden gem! Great polish deli. Just FYI...Not a sit down deli. French Bread available is amazing. The 2 lb rye , bread rolls are crispy on outside and we can't wait to have some cold butter to break into them and eat them! We ordered ham to go... they also have hot ham on Sundays. Lots of choices of polish ham,polish cheese, sausage, etc. Frozen piergoi's... and like other reviewers said... lots of stuff you can't read on the shelves. I stopped in for a sandwich one day and a week later I was back, stocking up on Polish meats and cheeses. Just the description of this place to my 100% Polish father has him excited to visit when he's on this side of town next week. This place is the real deal. I've drove past this place a million times, but it's rather unassuming so I never stopped in. After a few good reviews I decided to check it out, and the very modest deli and small list of 6 different sandwiches were still unimpressive. But once I took the time to take a look around, my attitude slowly started to change. This place is authentic European. Good luck reading some of the labels in the small grocery part of the deli, because most of them are in Polish and German. I was seeking out some Polish horseradish my first trip out (hard to find outside of Polish deli's). They not only had some that was straight outta Warsaw, but they also had Polska mustard. Now my sandwiches at home are awesome. Speaking of Sammie's, that first trip I ordered what they call "The Turkey Journey". The man at the counter started pulling out deli meat, shaving it in front of me and building one of the best sandwiches I've had in this fair city. A soft, delicious bun, slathered with brown mustard, stacked with a generous amount of deli turkey, topped with Swiss cheese, lettuce that was still crisp and tomatoes that tasted fresh. Absolutely unbelievable. Don't Stop Believin' in the Turkey Journey, Faithfully accept this sandwich with Open Arms. The next weekend, the Wifey was in a "Build your own sandwich" mode, so I suggested we stopped here for meat, and we went crazy. I spotted some regular Polish ham in the middle of the case and asked for a pound. The kind lady said "you can have that, but it's kind of regular. We have other Polish hams over here". The minute I saw them, I was already sold but then she started serving up samples. We tried the hams and ended up with the Polish Gypsy Ham, which was incredible. She also started serving up samples of the Polish cheeses, and even though we had cheese in the house, we immediately bought more from here upon first taste. I bought some Kielbasa as well and boiled it up the next night with onion, mustard seed and peppercorns and it was unbelievable. The deli counter here is second to none. I rounded out the trip buying some European rolls and a Strawberry and Cream Cheese strudel. I'm not sure if their bakery is in house, but it seems to be fresh, to the point that if they were warmed a little I'd be convinced they were fresh out the oven. The strudel had a great consistency; the outside was perfectly flaky with hardening the the filling in the cracks of the dough on top. I was very surprised, I didn't see these strudels on the weekday I was here, but on the weekend they were on a small tray behind the register. If you manage to find these, don't pass up on them, you'll be hard pressed to find better strudels. This place is totally deserving of five stars. read more

Hubs and I stopped in after reading Eileen B's review. Neither of us had any idea this tiny deli/market existed as it's tucked away on the side of a strip mall near Southridge. First off, most of your fellow shoppers are likely Polish or Eastern European - we may have been the only native English speakers in the store. I was very pleased at the selection despite the small size of the store. They've got all the necessary things - pickled veggies, Polish jams, herbal teas, chocolates, cheese, bread, condiments and much more. There is a deli case with meats, cheese and sausages - many are from the excellent Andy's deli in Chicago. There's even a surprisingly large choice of Polish alcohol - several types of brandies and beer. The only thing they don't stock is produce. If you want a sandwich they'll make you one for about $4-5. Overall, the prices were reasonable and on par with larger stores so you are not paying a premium to shop here. This place is the best shop in Milwaukee for finding ethnic European foods. They have an assortment of mainly Polish and German foods but a few items from Russia and other eastern European countries. They have a deli with various meats and cheeses, canned and packaged goods, chocolates and other candies, as well as an array of liquor ranging from wines to fine Polish vodkas. Price ranges are also great so you can enter this place on a budget, too. Note: they also have an assortment of foreign magazines so if you speak German or an Eastern European language, check it out! The staff is also very nice. There is a little German lady working the register who loves talking about her life there. Last i was in, we spoke in German together and discussed the little cities we lived in or visited. She is also great for recommending products and is receptive to requests for products not in stock. I love this place. I'm not a huge fan of bologna but this place sells the best. It reminds me of the bologna I had as a kid, the kind you actually have to pull the string of casing off. The flavor really takes me back. I also love the rolled bacon. The store sells so many unique items. It's fun to browse around and I usually purchase some different European delight I've never tried before. Some have been huge hits and some in my opinion should be left in Europe. Cool little deli with a large selection of German and Polish grocery items available. They also serve freshly made sandwhiches which are outstanding. The meat is extremely flavorful, the veggies are fresh, and the roll is the perfect balance of soft on the inside and hard on the outside. Not to mention that the sandwhiches are enormous for a very reasonable price of around $5. You will never want to eat a Jimmy John's or Jersey Mike's sandwich ever again. read more

I'm sure the food is good but the customer service is horrible. I went last Monday night. I've never been there before. We went at 550. When I walked in there was no one there. I just wanted to look around and then buy some lunch meat. Never have I been treated so rudely. The lady appeared out of no where and yelled that she closes in ten minutes and said she's not cutting any meat. Really? That's how you treat someone? We walked right out.
