One of the best experiences we've had. The crab cakes, bread, filet, mashed potatoes, hot fudge sundae and my French 75 was amazing! The service was unreal - they had three waitresses working our table so everything came out perfect and fast. The steak was made to perfection and the drinks tasted so good. I loved how medium dark it was in the restaurant. Couldn't have asked for a better meal.

Food was good, service was okay- overall with price point it wasn't the best to my expectations but still a decent place for drinks and a nice steak. My boyfriend and I went on a Saturday evening for date night- he made reservations for 8pm the week before with no issues. We arrived to Eddie Martini's at around 7:50 and we were told that our table will take a few minutes to be prepared, which I understood since we were there early for our 8pm reservation. We weren't seated until 8:15, which was a very curious time for us to wait for a table we already had reserved ahead of time. The service was alright- the servers and hosts themselves were very kind and knowledgeable but in all it was a slow service, I'm guessing because of serving other tables. Still- we were seated at 8:15 only to then have left by 10:15, we were there for two hours which when you're sitting there is a long time to have a dinner. In terms of the food- overall delicious! I had the specialty item Australian Wagyu and my boyfriend had the veal and we both really liked the food, atleast!

Wow! I discovered Eddie Martinis in passing and had to stop in. The second you walk in, you feel like you're taken back in time. It's small and intimate, but the food is the best part. I started with the flavorful lobster bisque and had decent chunks of lobster. For entrees, I got the seafood pasta, which was phenomenal. The pasta was perfectly cooked; if I'm not mistaken, I believe it was homemade. The sauce was creamy and delicious. And the amount of seafood was top tier. Every bite was better than the last. We got their three NY Strip special for the table: dry-aged, grass-fed, and wagyu strips. All amazing. For sides, I got to try the creamed corn, one of my favorite steakhouse sides. This was amazing too, as you can tell in the picture, most of it was gone before I got my helping. Overall, this was a fantastic dining experience, and the staff was terrific too. Our waitress, June, was excellent and so helpful.

I was celebrating so I stopped over without reservations to see if I could get in and I was given a choice of the bar or a small table up front so I chose the small table, I didn't stop at a fine dining restaurant to eat at the bar. They were busy and my server did a great job. I started with a whiskey old fashioned sour which was good. I ordered the baked burgundy onion soup and the veal scallopini because I love veal. The place is nice looking with a bar as you walk in. The baked burgundy onion soup was very good and looked amazing. There was a whole piece bread on top covered in a heap of melted cheese which washed boiling hot like most places so you could eat it right away. The veal scallopini was thin, lightly breaded on top of a lemon saffron risotto with a citrus cognac sauce topped with a leafy green and capers. The veal scallopini looked amazing and smelled delicious. The risotto was delicious with thin cross sliced asparagus which gave a nice crispy texture vs soft risotto. The veal was tender and delicious lightly breaded and not greasy after the pan fry. Overall this was a nice place for a good meal and a cocktail but I would recommend reservations because it was bar only for some walk ins and even the bar ended having a wait list.

We came here for Valentines the weekend before. Unfortunately, it felt similar to other reviewers that if you're not a regular, you seem to be treated differently. Many servers just stopped to fill water or drop things off then bolted. We used to have a warmer welcome from our servers in the past. It used to feel like more of a supper club where everyone was a "regular". Also, while trying to finish the soup we watched as our server watched us finishing it so he could immediately remove the bowl from the table just as we finished. We felt rushed and unwanted. The food was okay - not worth the price these days. With their a la carte system, there seem to be better options elsewhere where these "sides" are included. I ordered my steak medium +. It came out closer to rare, but I was nervous to send it back and end up getting it overcooked or have my husband wait and his food would be cold. Personal preference: the veal reduction would've been better on the side. Otherwise, we liked the lighting and music, but that was about it. We would rather go elsewhere for a nice dinner.

It pains me to have to write this. I want to start with Eddie Martini's is my favorite restaurant & that's why we chose to celebrate my birthday there last night. I want to say that the Maitre d, Wayne is exceptional as well as our server Brooke. The reason for my 3 star review: I have been a 20+ year loyal patron and several things were a miss last night. Only the chef could be responsible. My absolute FAVORITE soup is the Baked Burgundy. I have travelled many places & NEVER found one better!! However, last night it had crunchy onions, the broth was off, half the size of a normal bowl and now it doesn't even include bread REALLY??? Honestly, that ruined my birthday and I'm so serious, because if this is their new chef we're not going back anytime soon. I only order lamb chops once/year out of respect for the lamb population. I wish I hadn't because there was barely any meat on them and what I did receive was hard to chew because it was fatty. I honestly wish they had let him live. I couldn't eat it. I'm going to add that my bf's duck was dry & overcooked and I had to drink water just to get it down. I felt terrible for him since he really wanted this night to be over the top for me. Needless to say, my cats will be eating the leftovers and if that is a new permanent chef we won't be back anytime soon. I hoped and expected better. The baked burgundy was so disappointing & half full with zero char that I couldn't even photograph it!

This place has an old school supper club feel and always has exceptional service. The food is incredible! I had the filet and it was amazing. The sides are ordered separately and shared. The green beans almond one did not disappoint . I'm not a big bread pudding person, but theirs was insanely good. I ordered the trio of desserts which has a creme brûlée, chocolate cake and the bread pudding. Definitely wished I would have ordered the full order of just bread pudding. It comes with a cinnamon ice cream. Just out of this world!!

Okay, I'm going to dish in a second. But overall - Maxie's…read moreis a super cool vibe. The colors, the well-placed low lighting, the appropriate volume of cajun music ... all done in excellent taste. The waitstaff is INCREDIBLE. They all seem to be having a great time, when it's slow, and when it's busy, which is important to see; plus, they help each other out. Waiters, bartenders, bussers, hosts, food-runners - they're often smiling and helpful to anyone. Not only did our waiter Scotty take amazing care of us (a group of 10 on a Saturday night, all arriving at different times; and he had many other tables besides us), but his teammates helped bring drinks, clear the table, and our deliver our food. Everything was timely, fresh, and as far as I know, no errors were made with drinks or food. We were all quite satisfied with our meal. The reason I give 3 stars is, for some reason I do not understand, near the end of our meal, we heard a man yelling quite loudly from the kitchen area AT OUR SERVER. The man (manager I assume) was insisting that Scotty was not attentive to us (and I can't discern a single reason why this would be claimed). Even if he noticed something we didn't -- it could have been a moment of quiet criticism, but this dude turned it into a screaming fit. And he could not have been more wrong. In fact overhearing this exchange (right around the corner, within full earshot of us and the back half of the restaurant) was the ONLY thing that soured our otherwise amazing experience. We then watched who I assume was the same guy (red-faced and angry) sit down at a table very close to us, and our server return a moment later somewhat shaken up. It was awful. We made sure to congratulate him loudly on his impeccable service after that. I don't know if the manager heard or not. But one can hope. This was not my first time here, but it was the first time I've experienced anything like this. Like I said, the team seems solid, our service is always timely and kind (and often, incredibly FUN) even when they're PACKED, the food is bangin', the oysters are fresh and delicious, and EVERYTHING is well priced & spiced! So we will be back. But we really hated seeing our waiter treated like that. For anyone who doesn't know - waiters in WI currently make $2.33/hour. This is below the federal wage rate of $7.25/hour for the same job. They survive off your tips. If they're good, they're great, and GOD BLESS THEM - they must do what they do because they love people. This manager did not seem to appreciate what he had right in front of him. But we did!!!! Needless to say, it was crowded and lively, but our table was waiting for us and we were sat immediately. Our server was friendly, attentive, and very helpful with our menu choices, which were limited due to their Madi Gras-only offerings, but also plentiful and varied. My husband decided on the jambalaya, I went with the crawfish étouffée, and we split the roasted Cajun cauliflower as an appetizer. While it's hard for this kind of stew-like, saucy, veggie/sausage/seafood over rice mixtures to present beautifully, everything looked, smelled, and tasted delicious. The jambalaya had a little more of a kick than I prefer, but my husband loved it and my crawfish étouffée had the perfect amount of spice without being spicy. The roasted cauliflower was cooked to perfection and was the perfect way to start the meal. Not pictured is the bananas foster bread pudding that was the perfect way to end it. We both left with extra food to take home and the memory of a wonderful meal and great experience.

St. Paul Fish Market is located inside the very busy and popular Milwaukee Public Market indoor shopping complex downtown. It reminds me of the Pike Place Fish Market in Seattle. The only parking option that I am aware of is metered street parking. The building has 2 levels but the 1st floor is where most of the business are. It appeared to me that St. Paul's is the most popular business there. It is a seafood restaurant and fresh fish market. They have a small sit down area for table service dining or you can order your food to go at the counter. After being seated and reviewing the menu I decided to order the same meal I had over 11 years ago. I went with a bowl of clam chowder for $8 to start and then added a fried grouper sandwich ($16) with french fries for another $2.50. The chowder was perfect. Flavorful, delicious and I wanted more (5). The sandwich also was delicious and satisfying made with quality fish, lettuce, tomato, and bread. However while it tasted very good halfway through eating it the bread bun started to disintegrate and then quickly turned to mush before I could finish. Then I needed a fork to finish it. It got messy and I don't like that in a sandwich. It's only for that reason I give an overall 4 score instead of a 5. The french fries were very good tasting too but I had ordered too much food and only had room for a few of them. The table service was very warm and friendly. I believe St. Paul's is a very good choice for a casual seafood meal but please buy more sturdy buns!
