We enjoyed a very good meal on a very busy day of the year.... Fathers Day. Reservations were running behind by the time our 5:30 slot came and went. but we were seated by 6 PM and the waitstaff hustled and hurried and handled everything very professionally. Our 7 oz Filet with hash browns and salad plus the Broiled Seafood Trio with French onion soup and baked potato were wonderfully prepared. I kind of missed the extras of sour cream for my potato and tartar sauce for my broiled fish, but our waitress never came to check on us after our entrees were placed before us. Just a small oversight and it did not detract from the good meals that we both enjoyed. The Steakout is a much appreciated restaurant and cocktail bar in our neighborhood. A great place for local customers.

We came here on Christmas Eve for dinner. I had booked a reservation online back in November for the five of us. We arrived early and were seated pretty quickly which was great. This place was hustling and bustling. I ordered an old fashioned and the cocktails were also had at our table, all good. My grandma was impressed with the relish tray and the bread was delicious. Our table ordered a variety of items from lemon chicken, spaghetti, silician steak, New York strip and the seafood combo. All were delicious. My only food complaint was the pasta that came with the lemon chicken. It wasn't great and I think mashed potatoes would have been a better side. Also, the table was quite cramped. It was a table with an end against the wall. Me being against the wall on the side for three people, had very little room. Plenty of room though for the side of the table with two people. Would definitely go back, in fact my mom ended up going back the following week with friends for NYE!

My last visit here, I was coming in for lunch. It was a beautiful Friday and it was popping, but I was able to get a table quickly. I am going to preface this by saying my lunch was delicious. It just wasn't what I ordered. That was on the waitress and not the restaurant. She was friendly, but doesn't write things down, and she is not as good at that as she thinks. I ordered a blackened salmon sandwich with fries instead of chips. She dropped it off and I didn't see her again until we were finished with lunch, so I ate it. At first I thought it might have been the mahi mahi, but upon receiving the receipt, I saw it was swordfish. That isn't on the kitchen, it was rang in that way. Still very tasty and cooked perfectly. The prices are good and they have an excellent selection. I saw other waitstaff writing things down, my recommendation would be that everyone do so. Though you never know, you may end up with something you wouldn't have ordered but would eat again.

My date had requested during the reservation to be seated by a window but they had us seated at a rounder and bigger table that felt a little goofy for two people to be seated in. We decided to order the Crispy Fried Berkshire Pork Belly as our starter and the Grilled Whole Mediterranean Branzino and the Seafood Pappardelle as our main entrees. For drinks, we decided to get the cranberry kiss. Surprisingly, both of our dishes were pretty filling! The seafood Pappardelle, had lobster, scallops, shrimp, and octopus. It was on the heavier side, but the noodles that they paired with it, was absolutely amazing. The Branzino was nicely grilled, but wasn't dry on the inside. I was indifferent with the chimichurri sauce that was paired with it but the smashed potatoes and grilled asparagus was delicious. Overall, very delicious entrees.

It's a small place with seating inside at the bar, or in the dining area. It has a small outside patio, along Forest Home Avenue. Inside there are TVs and video poker games next to the bar (not a fan of those, but they are a "sports" bar). We come here for the food, and not the ambiance. We stopped on a Saturday night for a late dinner. Got a table right away, and the server got us settled in with drinks and waters. The Blackberry Smash was fresh and flavorful, the Riverwest Stein in on tap! We ordered the Cheese Curds to start with. These curds are unique and one of our favorites. It's simply queso cheese that has been deep fried. No batter or breading, just the cheese. We split the Whiskey Burger. They made it perfectly to order, medium rare. It was moist and flavorful. We got the side of Sweet Potato Fries, they were just okay. Either overcooked or reheated, which was a disappointment. The service throughout the evening was exceptional. Always friendly, helpful and attentive. Just the right amount of attention, updating us on our order, checking our first bites, and any extra drinks. Thanks Lauren. A very good experience, for a Sports Bar dinner.

She came up to our table multiple times during the evening to chat with us and ask us how our meal was. It's pretty amazing that she is the sole chef in the restaurant and is able to prepare all the meals while also checking in with patrons regularly. The food was really good. They have two prefix options, and we went with the paella, with an appetizer, dessert and bottle of rosé. Each course felt thoughtfully curated, beautifully presented, and bursting with authentic flavor. The warm staff and intimacy is something unique and different than anything else we've experienced. It's rare to find a place where you can experience both world-class cuisine and the personal touch of the people behind it. FYI, there is a price to be paid for such wonderful food and service. I also ordered the crab cakes which weren't impressive and could have been alot better. For our main entrees, we ordered the sirloin and grilled shrimp. My sirloin was perfectly cooked along with the asparagus and deliciois grilled shrimp. My husband and I both ordered the bacon mac and cheese for sides. We were disappointed in the bacon mac and cheese because it was bland and didn't taste right. The most memorable part of our visit was the amazing top notch service we received from our server! She was very personable, attentive checking in frequently through out our dining experience, and made sure we had an amazing time! Luckily the patio was open & it was great weather plus we had a 2 month old with us so could make it easier to step out. Prices are a little steep for an area like Franklin/Greendale. Probably a "nice occasion" dinner than a once a week dinner. Anything with some sort of protein is at minimum $21. I got the Fried Perch Dinner. My dad got the Prime Rib. My wife got the Tenderloin Sandwich. The Prime Rib was massive, not awfully fatty but I wouldn't pay $45 for it but that is also bc I am frugal. However, if it was a special occasion then I'd splurge for it. Dinners come with a salad or soup, bread, potato, & zucchini & squash. This is alone why I didn't get one of the salads & instead got the fried perch. This was definitely 5* to me. Cooked great, great portions, & I love zucchini. I just think the cost on the whole menu is where I dock the point. If you're okay with $26 to $30 on a dinner then this is an A+ spot with high class decor & interior. Heck, even the kid's grilled cheese looked SUPERB!!! They use the bread in the picture & we joked that we wouldn't mind ordering that when we saw a family order two of them.

When I saw the location, I thought what a idilic setting to enjoy a Friday fish fry. On this particular Friday, we elected to sat outside and maybe should have known something was up when the hostess called us brave. Seemed weird but the patio was bustling with people all appearing to be having a good time. All I'll say is the website incredibly oversells the condition and setting of the patio. Online, everything looks well manicured and on point. In reality, their patio area is a mess. Weeds, both dead and alive are a plenty. Besides a few small hanging baskets, not many actual flowers brighten the patio space. Even the planters that were displayed highlight dead flowers. Oh what this space could be with a bit more attention. With regard to food, I ordered the perch fry. The pieces were so ginormous I mistook them for cod. I was assured it was perch. The breading was delicious and the fish flavor. The fries, sprinkled with Parmesan are ok. If I come back I may stick to the inside dining room since its decor outshines the outdoor space.
