I've only been a couple times but I loved each visit! Our waiter Austin was the best, so attentive, helpful, and friendly!!! The food never disappoints and the drinks are great as well. Perfect for special occasions, girls nights, solo dates, etc. There's also an upstairs that I haven't explored yet but I hear it's very nice and intimate. Thanks Mo's read more

Stopped in after Monday Night Football. I'm a Bears fan, the bar had a few Packers fans. I started discussing the Bears win with the barttender and we got into the kind of back-and-forth you'd expect -- nothing vulgar, no insults, just sports talk. He'd been doing shots of Grand Marnier with a group of regulars, and at some point he decided he'd had enough of the banter and told me to leave. I hadn't raised my voice, hadn't sworn at anyone, hadn't been asked once to tone it down. A bartender drinking on shift and then throwing out a paying customer over friendly rivalry isn't a good look for a place with this reputation. He told me that his "Dad" owned the establishment and could do as he pleases. Milwaukee has plenty of steakhouses where a visiting fan can sit at the bar without getting tossed. read more

No photos from my recent visit due to it being a business dinner. We were seated by the window and had a view of passerbys. Cozy/close seating in our area. I ordered the NY strip with mushroom and asked for a side of horse radish sauce. New Strip was nothing to write home about. Slightly better than what I grill at home. I was disappointed that the restaurant charged me extra for the horseradish. read more

Here for a team dinner. We were seated at a semi closed area which was very nice for the conversation going. You can always voucher for the steak at Mo's. Cooked for the perfection. Went a bit over board for the side dishes. I enjoyed mushrooms the most. Surely will visit again. read more

We stayed downtown over the weekend. I asked a friend for recommendations during our visit and Mo's was on the list. I easily made a reservation for the lounge using OpenTable. We sat at a high top in the bar area, and it was perfect for us. The lounge area is loud, but we didn't mind. We started off with Kentucky Mules & it was made exactly how we like it. We got a chuckle that the Makers Mark mule was served in a Buffalo Trace glass. I liked the two fresh bread options served before our meal; the pretzel was my favorite. My husband enjoyed the two butter options, the chocolate being his favorite. We split a caesar salad, filet and mashed potatoes. The filet was perfectly cooked and had great flavor. We debated what to get for dessert so asked for a recommendation from our waitress. We ended up ordering the skillet chocolate chip cookie with an extra scoop of ice cream. The cookie was warm, gooey deliciousness! I ordered a chocolate martini, and it was the perfect pairing for dessert. Our wait staff was excellent. I normally shout out staff by name but sadly I misplaced the receipt I had for reference. Plates quickly cleared. Water glass always full. Great suggestions on what to eat. Thank you for a great Saturday evening meal! read more

Mo's--A Place for Steaks--calla itself the "Best Restaurant in Milwaukee," and honestly, after my visit on a Saturday night, I can see why they're confident. I went all in on the tomahawk, and it delivered exactly the kind of bold, indulgent flavor and impressive look on the plate you hope for when you choose the biggest, baddest cut on the menu. The dining room had that classic upscale steakhouse atmosphere without feeling stuffy or overdone. Service was wonderfully unobtrusive; the staff clearly knows what they're doing and doesn't need to hover to prove it. Everything moved smoothly, from seating to pacing through dinner, dessert, and the check. Overall, Mo's delivered a polished, satisfying experience that absolutely earns its reputation. read more

Everything was excellent! The lobster bisque was the best we've ever had. The waygu steak was outstanding as well as everything else we ate. The service from Evelyn & Nina was amazing. I'd give 10 stars if I could. read more

We were in town apartment hunting for a grad student. Saw Mo's while walking around and booked a reservation online. So glad we did. Experience was top quality along with the ambiance. The wait staff was so personable. Often management and even the owner stopped by to introduce themselves and check in on us. I personally had the 8oz filet and scallops wrapped. Was tops. The ambiance has an old school dark sort of vibe so well preserved. Anyways highly recommend. read more

The prices reflect not only the food but the service and ambiance as well. Every need is attended to. I could hold a quiet conversation with the person I'm eating with. The lobster bisque was served as a bowl with the bits of lobster in it, with the actual soup then poured tableside. Martini? Shaken and poured at the table. Delicious food. read more

If you take anything from this review, let it be this.... ORDER THE BRUSSELS SPROUTS!! I apologize for yelling, but it needs to be known. We went to Mo's A Place For Steaks for David's birthday and it was a perfect special event spot! Everything we got was delicious and so well flavored. It's up there for our favorite steak place in the city! Next time I would get the lobster Mac instead of the Pepper Jack, but that's just personal preference. The most outstanding part about this place is their staff. It's truly insane how kind and attentive everyone working was! They didn't know it was David's birthday but they just brought us a complimentary cheesecake at the end. It made our whole night! Truly can't recommend this place more! Sorry the photos suck, I'll just blame the lighting. read more

Mo's has been a staple for me over many years... consistently delicious food, amazing vibe and the staff is like family. Everyone is so nice and friendly, just a great and warm place. I host every work event as well as my personal meals here. Being from Chicago I am fairly spoiled w/ my steak house needs.... that is why I make sure I/we always stop in at Mo's every trip! read more

I have had the 20 ounce ribeye multiple times, and it's always cooked perfectly. There are a wide range of sauces and toppings to choose from. They've got a wonderful wedge salad and lobster bisque. There are many delicious sides but the lobster Mac and truffle fries seem to stand out. The cheesecake is great. The service is consistently fantastic, and the overall vibe of the restaurant is formal but somehow chill and inviting at the same time. read more

So incredibly good! We came here for a friends birthday, and while I'm not usually keen on steakhouses (no beef eater), mos was a great one! I got the Sicilian chicken, Caesar salad. The bummer, they don't do upgrades to the Caesar, we asked for the upgrade in lieu of the house salad but were told it would be full price. The bread was so warm and delish, and the butter was amazing. We had a chocolate butter which was very dessert like, so I opted for the regular. Good to try though! The service was great, as was the espresso martini. We got a bunch of sides, the pepperjack mac was my favorite, as was the asparagus. Dessert was a cheesecake and fresh baked cookie, both terrific! Price wise, this spot is expensive. We spent over 1000 for 8 people, some of which didn't get steaks or multiple drinks. It's definitely worth it for a celebration or a fancy night out though. read more

We made a reservation for the lounge space which to our fun surprise had live piano music playing. My friend ordered a cosmo and I ordered a copilot sticking to my choice of gin cocktails for that evening. While her cosmo look pretty it was incredibly strong and did not taste good. This was her first cosmo but I've had a few cosmos over the years and while yes it's a martini full of just booze it shouldn't taste that way. Likewise my cocktail not featured in photos was also not good. It was also served in a pint glass which didn't seem right for a cocktail. Maybe I didn't like the gin used, not sure but I have yet to order a gin cocktail that I don't like. Our waitress was understanding of our comments as each drink had 2-3 small sips. We didn't ask for new cocktails to replace since we weren't sure what those would be like. Giving three stars still because our waitress was nice and understanding and the cookie we ordered for dessert really was a 10/10 nice and warm with chocolate drizzle and just the right amount of ice cream! read more

We went to a steak house, but didn't have steak, so perhaps our mistake. We instead ordered salmon and chicken. Each was presented like prison food. Completely barren on a plate with no presentation. Horribly dried out as though it was in a reheating oven for hours. The chicken so dry it was uneatable. They offered a desert, but the ice cream on a cookie was a complete flop as the cookie was not cooked-Ice cream on goo. Get the steak is my recommendation. read more

Been here over a dozen times and never been disappointed. Steaks are spectacular. Incredible quality, Jaime and Johnny V do a great job. We've even gone there with groups of 8-10 and they've knocked it out of the park. The only bummer is I moved and live pretty far away, but still manage to stop in when coming thru town. Over priced for what we ordered. Our steak was over cooked; we ordered medium rare. It was conveniently located for the Riverside Theater.

My family and I visited Mo's for my dads birthday. He's a steak guy and we wanted to go somewhere he could get a good one. I on the other hand don't eat steak so I usually go basic at steakhouses. We walked in and were seated promptly after using the valet. ( it was right out front and was $10 for anyone else with parking anxiety). The service was great from start to finish. We had calamari as an appetizer which was really good. It had a sauce drizzled over it which made it delicious. I ordered a side of Mac and cheese and lobster bisque while my dad and brother ordered steak, Brussels, and mashed potato's. I sent my bisque back as it tasted burnt but I enjoyed the Mac and cheese and it had a good about of lobster in it. No complaints from the boys about their steaks and we finished dinner with a delicious complimentary slice of cheesecake. read more

Best steak I have had. Also had bacon wrapped scallops which were good My husband had the 8oz fillet which was very good and side of lobster bisque which was very flavorful and lobster mac n cheese and creamy spinach (spinach was bland but I added salt and pepper) Also celebrated husband birthday and they brought out a new York cheesecake and real fresh strawberries with whipped cream (in my opinion way better than Cheesecake factory cheesecake) Very good 1st time experience read more

We came here for my birthday. The hostess was very friendly and welcoming. They wished me happy birthday right as we entered the restaurant. We wee seated upstairs. Our wait staff was Madddie and Ellee. They both immediately came over to welcome us. They brought a delicious bread- pretzel plate with regular butter and chocolate butter. It was delicious. We ordered- 1) 8 oz filet- it was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. It had the perfect char on the outside and was cooked perfectly- medium rare on the inside. 2) Brussels sprouts- they were incredible. The brown sugar, butter, and bacon on them was so delicious. 3) Cesar salad was good. 4) chocolate chip cookie dessert- it was heaven on a plate. A giant warm cookie with vanilla ice cream and delicious chocolate sauce. It was amazing! Thank you to Maddie and Allee for treating us so well, and making our visit here amazing. They were so friendly and so attentive. I look forward to coming back here when we are visiting lovely Milwaukee. read more

I was in a party of 4 for mom's 68th birthday. Reservations were easy to make. Dimly lit, beautiful decor..... elegance. (The ceiling had some obvious issues. On the second floor... surprise for the caliber of the restaurant but the beautiful none the less.) I'll start with the good....The main server, Katie was amazing. Attentive.. we were given menus with "Happy 68th Birthday Mom." Mom loved the wine selection. Katie presented steaks. Mom, who never tries new things, did. Katy is a keeper. Napkins and silverware were replaced right away. Service began a 5. Smiles. Good times. Katie began to get busy and there was an assistant server and things changed..... very patient because there were a variety of options on the menu and it was hard to choose. Second server: A entirely different attitude. No smile. Impatient. Brought us half of a bread basket and said the rest was in the oven. Never brought it. Me: What are my options for salad dressing? Her: We have 13. (Silence) Me: (surprised but not put off entirely).... what types of vinegarettes? Her: Gave me the 2 options. Mom: How is the salmon prepared and how is it? She recommends the pesto salmon. We explained Mom probably won't like it... and says the Salmon is just a plain piece of fish. (So mom needs more time because he mind was on the salmon and know she doesn't want to order because it now sounds appealing.) She comes back. Mom: How are the ribs? Her: Just some ribs. (Rudely, More attitude which made us all look up and not smiling) and walks away because Mom now doesn't want that. We are Mom looking deflated. I asked Katie over and couldn't really tell her the entire situation because I'm at the table so I'm trying to be discreet. Katie apologized. Talked to her. I saw her response. Katie apologizes profusely. Katie described in detail the ribs and Mom ordered them and her smile returned. She loved Katie and service was back on track.... Drink: Wine was amazing. The Starburst was ok.... Food: The Pesto Salmon was delicious. Perfect balance. Cooked to perfection. I didn't want to stop eating..... and that French Onion Soup!!!!!!! Amazing!!!!!!! My mouth is watering now thinking of it. Those "just ribs" were fall off the bone and Mom loved them. The steak was a little tough for me. I struggled with how to rate this. Katie was 5 star. The other server gave 0.5. ( She was right about my Pesto) I also would have appreciated a manager to come to the table especially with the complaint. They did give Mom two birthday treats. Her smiles returned due to Katie and the ribs and she felt loved on. Food: 4.5 My personal overall experience 3.5 I'm torn. Service is everything to me. I hated giving a 20% tip because Katie would have had to share. I'll probably order the soup to go. There is a lot of great competition in the area for steaks. I will not be back at Mos. Katie is a gem! read more

Some friends treated us to a birthday/engagement celebration dinner here, and we both remarked at how long it had been since we had dined here, and it was a very welcome return! The staff were extremely helpful and efficient, from the incredibly friendly hostess that brought us upstairs to meet the rest of our party (and congratulated us on our upcoming nuptials!) to the team of servers and support staff that managed all of the aspects of our meal. My boyfriend and I took a trip to Milwaukee and were excited to try a new steak house. We ended up going to Mo's are so happy we did! We made reservations online and arrived about 10 mins early and were seated immediately. The restaurant is beautiful and has perfect mood lighting for a date night. We came for an anniversary dinner and the table set with menus that said "Happy Anniversary" which was such a nice touch! We had complimentary bread that came with regular and butter of the day which was chocolate butter. I was not expecting to like the chocolate but it was so good! We also got complimentary salads with our entrees and the lettuce was so fresh and they have a large variety of dressings. When ordering our entrees our server brought out each cut and explained the differences. I'm not very knowledgeable about cuts so this was super helpful! I ended up ordering the NY strip with garlic butter and mashed potato's and my boyfriend ordered the ribeye with pepper jack mac and cheese. The garlic butter is game changer! Both steaks were cooked PERFECTLY and we were so stuffed. After we ate they brought us out a giant cookie and drizzled chocolate over the top for our anniversary. The cookie was AMAZING I can only imagine how good their other desserts are. To drink I ordered a red wine and it was also delicious, I only wish I could remember which one it was!! Overall, we had an amazing experience! This was definitely the best steaks we've ever had and we loved both our servers!
