I have had the 20 ounce ribeye multiple times, and it's always cooked perfectly. There are a wide range of sauces and toppings to choose from. They've got a wonderful wedge salad and lobster bisque. There are many delicious sides but the lobster Mac and truffle fries seem to stand out. The cheesecake is great. We stayed downtown over the weekend. I asked a friend for recommendations during our visit and Mo's was on the list. I easily made a reservation for the lounge using OpenTable. We sat at a high top in the bar area, and it was perfect for us. The lounge area is loud, but we didn't mind. We started off with Kentucky Mules & it was made exactly how we like it. We got a chuckle that the Makers Mark mule was served in a Buffalo Trace glass. I liked the two fresh bread options served before our meal; the pretzel was my favorite. My husband enjoyed the two butter options, the chocolate being his favorite. We split a caesar salad, filet and mashed potatoes. The filet was perfectly cooked and had great flavor. We debated what to get for dessert so asked for a recommendation from our waitress. We ended up ordering the skillet chocolate chip cookie with an extra scoop of ice cream. The cookie was warm, gooey deliciousness! I ordered a chocolate martini, and it was the perfect pairing for dessert. Our wait staff was excellent. I normally shout out staff by name but sadly I misplaced the receipt I had for reference. Plates quickly cleared. Water glass always full. Great suggestions on what to eat. If you take anything from this review, let it be this.... ORDER THE BRUSSELS SPROUTS!! I apologize for yelling, but it needs to be known. We went to Mo's A Place For Steaks for David's birthday and it was a perfect special event spot! Everything we got was delicious and so well flavored. It's up there for our favorite steak place in the city! Next time I would get the lobster Mac instead of the Pepper Jack, but that's just personal preference. The most outstanding part about this place is their staff. It's truly insane how kind and attentive everyone working was! They didn't know it was David's birthday but they just brought us a complimentary cheesecake at the end. It made our whole night! Truly can't recommend this place more! So incredibly good! We came here for a friends birthday, and while I'm not usually keen on steakhouses (no beef eater), mos was a great one! I got the Sicilian chicken, Caesar salad. The bummer, they don't do upgrades to the Caesar, we asked for the upgrade in lieu of the house salad but were told it would be full price. The bread was so warm and delish, and the butter was amazing. We had a chocolate butter which was very dessert like, so I opted for the regular. Good to try though! The service was great, as was the espresso martini. We got a bunch of sides, the pepperjack mac was my favorite, as was the asparagus. Dessert was a cheesecake and fresh baked cookie, both terrific! Price wise, this spot is expensive. We spent over 1000 for 8 people, some of which didn't get steaks or multiple drinks. We went to a steak house, but didn't have steak, so perhaps our mistake. We instead ordered salmon and chicken. Each was presented like prison food. Completely barren on a plate with no presentation. Horribly dried out as though it was in a reheating oven for hours. The chicken so dry it was uneatable. They offered a desert, but the ice cream on a cookie was a complete flop as the cookie was not cooked-Ice cream on goo. Get the steak is my recommendation. read more

We made a reservation for the lounge space which to our fun surprise had live piano music playing. My friend ordered a cosmo and I ordered a copilot sticking to my choice of gin cocktails for that evening. While her cosmo look pretty it was incredibly strong and did not taste good. This was her first cosmo but I've had a few cosmos over the years and while yes it's a martini full of just booze it shouldn't taste that way. Likewise my cocktail not featured in photos was also not good. It was also served in a pint glass which didn't seem right for a cocktail. Maybe I didn't like the gin used, not sure but I have yet to order a gin cocktail that I don't like. Our waitress was understanding of our comments as each drink had 2-3 small sips. We didn't ask for new cocktails to replace since we weren't sure what those would be like. My family and I visited Mo's for my dads birthday. He's a steak guy and we wanted to go somewhere he could get a good one. I on the other hand don't eat steak so I usually go basic at steakhouses. We walked in and were seated promptly after using the valet. ( it was right out front and was $10 for anyone else with parking anxiety). The service was great from start to finish. We had calamari as an appetizer which was really good. It had a sauce drizzled over it which made it delicious. I ordered a side of Mac and cheese and lobster bisque while my dad and brother ordered steak, Brussels, and mashed potato's. I sent my bisque back as it tasted burnt but I enjoyed the Mac and cheese and it had a good about of lobster in it. No complaints from the boys about their steaks and we finished dinner with a delicious complimentary slice of cheesecake. read more

We came here for my birthday. The hostess was very friendly and welcoming. They wished me happy birthday right as we entered the restaurant. We wee seated upstairs. Our wait staff was Madddie and Ellee. They both immediately came over to welcome us. They brought a delicious bread- pretzel plate with regular butter and chocolate butter. It was delicious. We ordered- 1) 8 oz filet- it was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. It had the perfect char on the outside and was cooked perfectly- medium rare on the inside. 2) Brussels sprouts- they were incredible. The brown sugar, butter, and bacon on them was so delicious. 3) Cesar salad was good. 4) chocolate chip cookie dessert- it was heaven on a plate. I was in a party of 4 for mom's 68th birthday. Reservations were easy to make. Dimly lit, beautiful decor..... elegance. (The ceiling had some obvious issues. On the second floor... surprise for the caliber of the restaurant but the beautiful none the less.) I'll start with the good....The main server, Katie was amazing. Attentive.. we were given menus with "Happy 68th Birthday Mom." Mom loved the wine selection. Katie presented steaks. Mom, who never tries new things, did. Katy is a keeper. Napkins and silverware were replaced right away. Service began a 5. Smiles. Good times. Katie began to get busy and there was an assistant server and things changed..... very patient because there were a variety of options on the menu and it was hard to choose. Second server: A entirely different attitude. No smile. Impatient. Brought us half of a bread basket and said the rest was in the oven. Never brought it. Me: What are my options for salad dressing? Her: We have 13. (Silence) Me: (surprised but not put off entirely).... what types of vinegarettes? Her: Gave me the 2 options. Mom: How is the salmon prepared and how is it? She recommends the pesto salmon. We explained Mom probably won't like it... and says the Salmon is just a plain piece of fish. (So mom needs more time because he mind was on the salmon and know she doesn't want to order because it now sounds appealing.) She comes back. Mom: How are the ribs? Her: Just some ribs. (Rudely, More attitude which made us all look up and not smiling) and walks away because Mom now doesn't want that. We are Mom looking deflated. I asked Katie over and couldn't really tell her the entire situation because I'm at the table so I'm trying to be discreet. Katie apologized. Talked to her. I saw her response. Katie apologizes profusely. Katie described in detail the ribs and Mom ordered them and her smile returned. She loved Katie and service was back on track.... Drink: Wine was amazing. The Starburst was ok.... Food: The Pesto Salmon was delicious. Perfect balance. Cooked to perfection. I didn't want to stop eating..... and that French Onion Soup!!!!!!! Amazing!!!!!!! My mouth is watering now thinking of it. Those "just ribs" were fall off the bone and Mom loved them. The steak was a little tough for me. I struggled with how to rate this. Katie was 5 star. The other server gave 0.5. ( She was right about my Pesto) I also would have appreciated a manager to come to the table especially with the complaint. They did give Mom two birthday treats. Her smiles returned due to Katie and the ribs and she felt loved on. Food: 4.5 My personal overall experience 3.5 I'm torn. Service is everything to me. I hated giving a 20% tip because Katie would have had to share. I'll probably order the soup to go. There is a lot of great competition in the area for steaks. I will not be back at Mos. My boyfriend and I took a trip to Milwaukee and were excited to try a new steak house. We ended up going to Mo's are so happy we did! We made reservations online and arrived about 10 mins early and were seated immediately. The restaurant is beautiful and has perfect mood lighting for a date night. We came for an anniversary dinner and the table set with menus that said "Happy Anniversary" which was such a nice touch! We had complimentary bread that came with regular and butter of the day which was chocolate butter. I was not expecting to like the chocolate but it was so good! We also got complimentary salads with our entrees and the lettuce was so fresh and they have a large variety of dressings. When ordering our entrees our server brought out each cut and explained the differences. I'm not very knowledgeable about cuts so this was super helpful! I ended up ordering the NY strip with garlic butter and mashed potato's and my boyfriend ordered the ribeye with pepper jack mac and cheese. The garlic butter is game changer! Both steaks were cooked PERFECTLY and we were so stuffed. After we ate they brought us out a giant cookie and drizzled chocolate over the top for our anniversary. The cookie was AMAZING I can only imagine how good their other desserts are. To drink I ordered a red wine and it was also delicious, I only wish I could remember which one it was!! Overall, we had an amazing experience! This was definitely the best steaks we've ever had and we loved both our servers! My partner loves a good steak. So, he wanted to have dinner at Mo's prior to a recent Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra performance. Because I don't eat red meat, I was reluctant to have dinner there. Once he learned that they have bacon-wrapped scallops as both an appetizer and a side, well, the deal was sealed. Their classic old fashioned was pretty good. My partner thoroughly enjoyed his filet and scallops. I had the pan-seared salmon and a side of Brussels sprouts with bacon and brown sugar. The salmon was basic and I was hard-pressed to find any brown sugar in my sprouts. The hostess, a young lady whose hair was on point, and our waiter, a cute and personable bespectacled guy, were terrific. If I'm going to spend $200 (or more!) for a meal for two people, I'm more inclined to try some of Milwaukee's newer James Beard Award-nominated restaurants.
