Molten Hazelnut Cake

I came here for a work event with 30+ people, and it was a fantastic experience. Parking wasn't too difficult to find--typical for Milwaukee. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, regularly coming around with hors d'oeuvres on trays and keeping our drinks filled throughout the night. The appetizers were absolutely delicious--the meatballs were my favorite! For dinner, I ordered a steak, and it was cooked to perfection--honestly, the best steak I've ever had. It was incredibly juicy, and the temperature was spot on. I typically go for medium or medium rare, and they nailed it. The dessert was just as impressive--flavorful and the perfect portion size after a filling meal. I also loved the overall atmosphere--it had a great vibe, and I appreciated the convenience of their coat check. Plus, their bourbon selection was excellent--a nice bonus!

Bacchus is celebrating 20 years in business this year, and I enjoyed their six course signature tasting menu a few weeks ago, as well as their Foie Gras appetizer! The tasting menu included an Amuse Bouche, Apple Salad, Guajillo-glazed Octopus with pork belly, Seared Sea Scallops over fried black rice, Pork Bolognese, a palate-cleansing intermezzo, Australian Wagyu Striploin with potato rosti, and a Kiwi Sorbet over lavender meringue, followed by decadent Petit Fours to send us home beyond satisfied! Service and food was amazing, and the tasting menu was a great value! We didn't need the foie gras app, but my guest never had foie gras, so I felt it was time she did. Bacchus also offers a three course prix fixe dinner option and also brought back their a la carte menu, so go there soon and choose your dining adventure!

Went for the New Year's Eve menu. Excellent food, wonderful staff and service, beautiful interior and seating.

Waygu cheese burger

Swung by Bacchus after work because I heard their burger was among the best gourmet burgers in Milwaukee and it didn't disappoint. It's a Waygu patty with the option to choose from three cheeses. The one I chose was a bit buttery and complemented the patty perfectly. The egg was supposed to be over easy but came over hard. The patty itself was cooked medium and has to be the best and most accurate medium I've had in a burger. Usually I have to box or leave unfinished, but I finished this despite being pretty full. Fries were just okay. Got the goat cheese curds for the appetizer and they were good, but far too overpriced. The bartender was very friendly and explained in detail and accommodating. Its a fine dining restaurant so it may require reservations during normal hours but there was plenty of seating at the end of the day. Ambiance was quiet and proper.

We had a great experience at Bacchus, starting from the phone call to make the reservation. They were very polite and talked us through the structure of their menu, where to park, etc. We went on a Monday, so it was not too crowded. It's a pretty large space and could definitely accommodate a group. We had a team of two taking care of us. They were very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We opted for the 3 course meal instead of the 5 course. I had the chicken as my main course and my fiance had the duck. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious and arrived warm and in a timely manner. I would absolutely recommend stopping by, especially for a special occasion like a birthday or an anniversary!

Sponsored by my sis, hubby and I were able to enjoy Bacchus in celebration of our wedding anniversary. We had the 3 course meal. Me: duck dumplings, salmon, chocolate truffle Hub: pasta bolognese, scallops, strawberry & sunflower With a bottle of Pinot Noir from OR. Everything was really delicious and decadent. Servers were very attentive. Timing was spot on. And added anniversary touches - card, champagne split, little treat bag - were definitely a bonus. Thank you for a special night! Ps. The table bases are a bit cumbersome, getting in the way of a place to comfortably put down your feet.

This restaurant is upscale and a great place to celebrate a special occasion. The staff are attentive and kind. The only issue we had was in having a later reservation, we felt slightly rushed to eat quickly and I felt we didn't get to savor our food as much. They have a fun cocktail menu with some delicious options and fun twists on classic cocktails. We ordered from the three course menu, which I felt was the perfect amount of food. My favorite dishes included the duck dumplings and the cheesecake. Both were creatively made and had amazing flavors. I felt the mains were good but not as memorable. Overall, I liked the restaurant but was hoping for more!

tl;dr - a place you should go when you need to feel special, have impeccable service or a reason to celebrate! My husband has just gotten a promotion at work, so we decided to splurge for a very amazing experience at Bacchus. It was our first time there and the place was incredibly fancy. We had decided to get dressed up (and were so glad we did) as there was the valet and coat check before we entered in. We had a little bit of imposter syndrome (oh jeeze, should we really be here!?! Apparently my husband said there's a Simpsons episode where Homer walks into a VERY beautiful restaurant and he says "WOW, fancy" and the maître d' walks up to him and goes, "Would you please leave without a fuss, right now?" Hilarious and a little bit how we felt, until we got inside!) An extremely friendly and warm dining experience. We were seated promptly and immediately were greeted by our servers. The pair was SO nice and explained the menu and special very clearly. They also asked if we were celebrating anything and we mentioned his promotion. We both grabbed a cocktail and our amazing dining experience was off to the races. We got freshly cooked bread for the table and and small bite-sized appetizer to start. There is a 3 and 5 course tasting menu here, so there's not ala carte type options which is completely fine, just different than what you may expect if you've never been there before. We did the 3 course and went with: - Duck dumplings (simply incredible, it was one of the big highlights of the meal) - Yellowfin Tuna crudo (amazing flavor combos and so fresh feeling) - Blue ridge rabbit loin (I ventured out of my comfort zone on this one to try something new and it did not disappoint!) - Rack of venison (so incredibly tender and just on another level of how you could venison could prepared) - Cheesecake mousse (the hubby loved) - Chocolate truffle (so incredibly rich and decadent, some light-hearted folks might not be able to finish it, but I SURE DID. Simply fantastic!) At the end along with our selected desserts, they even brought our a super cute "congratulations" treat for Ben. They really went above and beyond to make sure we felt special and that this was an elevated dining experience through and through. This is definitely a place to share a super romantic or important night with someone you care about!

Dumplings - phenomenal

An extremely friendly and warm dining experience. Servers were nice and explained the menu clearly. There is a 3 course tasting and a 5 course tasting menu. One recommendation id make is not making any reservations at 8:30 or after. Their kitchen closes at 9 and I called to make sure 8:30 was ok. They did tell me we would have to put in all the food orders by 9 but in general we felt extremely rushed. All the dishes came out super fast and we could tell they were in a hurry. I'm usually very very cognizant about closing times which is why I called ahead to double check. I feel if they are truly trying to close early they should not have offered reservations at that time in the first place. Regarding the food, overall it was tasty, some dishes were incredible and some were okay. The cocktails were phenomenal and would recommend getting those. I'd certainly be intrigued at trying this place again and reassess their food!

Went with spouse for a date on a Friday evening. Ambiance and decor inside was clean, modern and classy but not pretentious. Seated with space between other parties, which we appreciated. No feeling cramped or too close by. Not loud inside, and we enjoyed that we could talk and hear each other. Service was great. We did a 3 course menu each, so we could try 6 items. Duck dumplings, good but not out of this world. Pork bolognese, pleasantly surprised by big portion first course, we liked this better. Lamb loins, meat was tender and the dish as a whole was so flavorful with the morel sauce. Thoughtful and well composed. Scallops with red curry sauce was a more interesting take, scallop sear was excellent but not overcooked. We both loved the second courses, best of the 3. Sorbets were refreshing and sweet but not overly sweet. Citrus one was a little more tart than we preferred. Chocolate truffle had candied kumquats and toasted meringue to add texture and other flavors. Would recommend and would come again. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

I thought that the food was excellent and beautifully crafted, but some of the portions were really small. The atmosphere seemed kind of bland for a place that fancy. It was definitely a place to be seen but I left wanting to go somewhere else.

Tasting Menu

We went ther for our 15 yr anniversary. We did the tasting menu. Everything was great! Wait staff was super and chef is accommodating if you have any issues/concerns with the menu.

Why have I waited for 5 years here in MKE to try this? Tonight, I took my father out to dinner. He is nearly 87 and pretty much loves steak. I'm vegetarian. Therefore, finding a place that has quality food for both of us is a chore. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with kindness. The staff was exceptional. Our waitress, Mayah was as thoughtful, intuitive and fantastic as the best customer service goals could envision. But, the big thing, besides the beautiful, elegant space right across from Lake Michigan, was the meal. Bacchus offers several options for a fixed price meal. And, at $70, it is a serious deal. I found the vegetarian options inspired. I had the LACLARE GOAT CHEESE CURDS: blueberry compote, arugula, smoked walnuts, macerated blueberry, vanilla, and Tellicherry peppercorn. For my main course I had the butternut squash risotto. And, for afters, the pear and sunflower. My father went straight for the filet mignon. So, the result was a big thumbs up, 5 stars. Kudos also for actually having a vegetarian menu, being super accommodating to my father in his mobility scooter (holding the doors open, etc.) and lastly, thank you to the valet parking attendant for being so speedy and gracious. Go.

Can men wear a collared "golf" type shirt or would a dress shirt and tie more appropriate?

You could, but an Oxford is more appropriate. You don't need a jacket, but 3/4 of men will have one on in the cooler seasons.

Full of flavor. Cooked just right. The Brussels sprouts were charred which I like. We enjoyed their whiskey tasting. Of course they have miller on tap which is good. So many drink options to choose from! If you do a tasting, you get a whiskey glass to take home (at least May 2026). I ordered a Wisconsin old fashioned, and they made it taste so good! They offer it sweet (sprite), sour (squirt), or press (not so sweet, I'd say in the middle)? If nothing else, stop in for some cheese curds! Our server, Adam, was quick and attentive. He was funny, suggested items for us to try, and was very tentative of our friend's food allergy. We started the night with a few drinks; #39 non-alcoholic Paloma, #129 non-alcoholic sbagiato, and #33 Sherry Pear-Y. All of which were absolutely amazing! Then we ordered the Chili Crisp Deviled Eggs (comes with two pieces), Crispy Thai-Style Oyster Mushrooms, Cappelletti, Slow-braised Bison Cheek, Cha Ca La Vong (Catfish), and the Wood-fired Bavette Steak. Where do I begin? First off, everything was fantastic! Delicious, creative, and memorable. Some dishes even had us ordering seconds! First the Chili Crisp Deviled Eggs: so creamy! We ended up ordering another plate of them (four orders) because one wasn't enough for the four of us. The Crispy Thai-Style Oyster Mushroom: insanely seasoned! It was crispy and the kick of the Thai chili peppers, made it our tables favorite (we ordered another plate of this)! The bits of crunch rice mixed in was also a pleasant surprise. The bits of green beans and cucumber was a nice way to cool the kick of the spices. The Slow-braised Bison Cheek: It was very interesting. Very soft and when paired with the polenta cake, mozzarella, and carrot, it tasted amazing. Cha Ca La Vong (Catfish): Also very interesting. It tastes very similar to a Vietnamese catfish soup! The pineapple fish sauce paired amazing with the glass noodles. The only complaint I have about this dish, was that the glass noodles weren't fully cooked, so they were a bit hard. The Wood-fired Bavette Steak: My god, this was amazing! It was perfectly cooked, the dark chocolate bordelaise paired with the mushrooms and steak was incredible. Like I said, everything was amazing! Our table was blown away with the creativity and quality of the food. The service was amazing, everyone was very sweet and helpful. The atmosphere was lovely and quirky. It was fun spotting all the duck decorations. Honestly, cannot rave enough about this place, I look forward to the next time I visit!
