We appreciated our anniversary dinner here the other night. We had time to enjoy a drink at the bar. One of my pet peeves though is they don't include prices for all drinks on the menu. Plus, the glass of red wine I got was a very light pour considering the price. C'mon, guys. However, the rest of our night was amazing. Our server was super friendly and attentive. We did get bread, salad and our French onion soup all together very fast. Couldn't eat fast enough and made us feel a little rushed. But, then we had some time until dinner showed up, which helped. An iconic old school supper club experience! Feels like a step back in time, done in all the right ways. From the second we walked in the door, we received top notch service. The atmosphere is really unique; Christmas lights strung throughout and wreaths/trees adorning corners. We were seated upstairs where they had Breakfast at Tiffany's playing on a movie projector which was a quirky and fun touch. Our food was excellent; steaks come with a relish tray, a salad (which the server brings to your table family style) and bread. We all ordered ribeyes which did not disappoint and I'd say, was one of the best we have had in Milwaukee. Sides were delicious and generously portioned. I'm a big fan of supper club restaurants and Five O' Clock did not disappoint! It definitely gives that classic restaurants feel with a darker atmosphere. Our waitress was so kind and attentive all evening which I appreciated. We went for our anniversary and they gifted us a slice of pie to celebrate which was lovely. Service starts with fresh bread, veggie tray, and salad with choice of dressing. We also tried the calamari, which was tasty, and french onion soup which was delicious. I thought my prime rib was well cooked and full of flavor- overall really enjoyed it! The steaks are served in a lot of sauce on the plate just as fyi. Leftovers are also packed up by staff in plastic bags which was a new one for me personally. Overall we very much enjoyed our meal and would definitely recommend trying out if you are looking for a classic WI supper club/ steak restaurant. The steaks, the Prime Rib, the relish dish, the veggies, the giant potato, and home made desserts are all mouth watering. The ambiance is one of a kind. 1950s super club. Was more pricey than your standard high end steakhouse, which was fine going into the "supper club" experience thinking all that plays into the price. We got drinks at the bar which were very tasty. Our server was quite awkward and kept giggling the whole service and just kept saying "oh that's really good" when asked about different items as though she had no idea. Did not know the difference in the different cuts of meat as we were asking. We end up getting a porterhouse steak and wanted to spit as that's a big cut and were told it was a $14 upcharge on an already $72 steak to split it even if we got some appetizers to split. When we go the steak it was supposed to have au jus on it, but instead it was swimming in a bowl of it which completely ruined any crust the steak had and made it feel soggy. The fat was not rendered properly. Probably the worst steak I've ever ordered. The relish tray barely had any edible components on it including a whole raw radish not even sliced? The place was nicely decorated to fit the old school ideal and the cocktails were good, but that's the only positive of the night. read more

So glad we got to experience this place when we visited Milwaukee for the weekend. I feel like it gave us the full experience - beginning with the traditional Milwaukee supper club vibe of being greeted, waiting and ordering dinner while at the bar, then being escorted to our table where our salad and accompaniments were waiting. The salad and bread were SOOOOO good. The peppercorn ranch dressing was the best I've ever tasted I literally wanted to drink it (IYKYK). We ended up asking for extra to go because I was so obsessed. Old school classic in Milwaukee. This is what we all wish we could find in the big cities on the coasts. The place is straight out of the 40s and 50s and feels just as vibrant as it must have then. I'd describe it as an old school Jersey italian steakhouse without the italian aspect. Don't know how else to describe it but for those who get around that should make sense. The service and hosting is over the top. The food is excellent. The prices are so low you feel like it's a flashback to 2010. The prime rib was one of the handful of the best I've had anywhere. Visiting from Cali and wanted to find a place to celebrate my niece's birthday, decided to give this place a try based on reviews and the best thing was our waitress Nicole! Would give this a zero but bumping jt to 2 because Nicole was amazing. Food: Food wasn't that great. They start you off with complimentary salad, bread and a picked dish. The filet mignon was ok, served in some sauce that we were not a fan off. The baby back ribs were really bad. The portion was huge but I couldn't eat more than the first bite as the BBQ sauce was really bad, grainy, like 'mole' texture with weird or no flavor. Nicole came to ask how our food was and I couldn't help showing my disappointment look which she noticed and later mentioned it when I told her I just couldn't eat the ribs. Calimari was good but the mashed potatoes were very bland. Service: Had a reservation but we were a few minutes early. We were going to wait outside but a gentleman at the door told us to come in. As soon as we did we felt so uncomfortable, it felt like EVERYONE stared us down and we just didn't feel welcomed. A waitress at a poteum asked us if she could help us and we gave our name for reservation. She told us they had not yet opened and the table was not ready. I told her I was going to wait outside but was told to come in, and that we could wait outside if we had to. She said we could wait at the bar and order drinks. We sat at a table by the bar since we don't drink. We were really ready to walk out as it was very awkward but Nicole came to greet us and her friendly, welcoming personality made all the difference. She was very thorough explaining the menu, greeting us and asking us to wait as our table was set up. She then came to take our order and later to take us to our table. The place got really full almost immediately, it must be a popular place for locals, I just would NOT recommend it, for the price food is mediocre, definitely don't order the BBQ ribs. read more

Im not going to lie I was pretty disappointed with this place. We had heard it was good from several people and we ordered a ton of different appetizers and entrees. The bacon wasn't very flavorful, the salads were bland, the best appetizers were the fries and bread. I will say the steak itself was very good, they drown it in sauce which I'm not personally a fan of. Regardless it was delicious. The service was a bit hectic. They have two people helping larger parties, which felt a bit overkill. If you're coming in for a meal here, I'd say the steak is a safe play. The rest of the menu is a toss up. Cheers! read more

Salad and bread comes out first with a lovely little relish tray that I swear my grandma has too. We had also ordered the garlic bread. Our steak and prime ribs came out soon after. All sides we had ordered are also family style. I had the single prime rib and could not finish it. For scale we had the creamed spinach and mashed potatoes for sides. THE place for steaks in Milwaukee. Old school supper club that has been around since 1946! That's right, over 75 years and running! A landmark restaurant in Milwaukee. As soon as you walk in, you are transported back in time to the classic Wisconsin supper club scene, with wood paneled walls and old pictures hanging around a massive bar. The hostess will tell you to grab a cocktail at said bar and order your food from there as well. We did as we were told, and we ordered a couple of cocktails. I ordered probably the best sidecar I've ever had. Once you have ordered your dinner and saddled up with the bartender, your waiter will take you to your table where a bowl of salad, a relish tray and warm bread await you. Don't gorge too much on the salad and bread however, because when the steak you ordered comes out, you will regret it! We ordered a porterhouse and shared it between the two of us, and I'm glad we did! It was massive and probably the best steak I've ever eaten. They cook it just right, medium rare, and a little charred on the outside. It was incredibly tender and juicy. We told the waitress it was our anniversary, and she comped us a slice of Key lime pie, which was also incredible. To top it off, we ordered a dessert drink, a Brandy Alexander, a favor of ours at any supper club we visit. It was very boozy! A nice way to end an incredible meal and experience. It's not cheap but I didn't feel the prices were outrageous either for what you get. They have live music every Friday and Saturday at the bar, and there is additional seating upstairs in the Alley Cat Lounge. A gem of a restaurant, this place is fantastic. Our family has been enjoying this place for 30 years and I just celebrated my 61st birthday there last night. The cocktails and steaks are always superb!!! Ambiance is great, reminiscent of a super club. My only issue is there has been a noticeable change since it was sold, including a more rushed service and significantly higher prices. It used to be a great value, not anymore. Also, please bring back the candy dish!!! Covid is over and you don't need to act like a corporate steakhouse. Expect to pay a load. Our bill for three entrees, three sides, four cocktails, and a mediocre bottle of wine, came to $380 with tip. That's a lot of moolah in Wisconsin. Everything was great, including service, but Five O'Clock has become a special occasion restaurant. I used to dine there twice a month. That's a vestige of the past. This was my first experience at a true Wisconsin Supper Club and I cannot say enough good things about this place. We started at the front bar, having a cocktail and placing our order for dinner there. They were a little slow on drinks there but the vibe was lively and classic which was fun to see. We all ordered French onion soup, petit filets, crab Mac and cheese to share and asparagus and mashed potatoes to share. Upon arriving at our table, they provided salad with three dressing options that we had picked when ordering, and bread service. Our server recommended trying the bread with butter and honey, and it was delicious! Then our French onion soup arrived and it was amazing. Hot, rich, flavorful with a solid cheese melt. I ate every last spoonful of this soup! Then our steaks came, looking beautifully cooked with au jus and mushrooms and had amazing flavor. I didn't anticipate eating much of the Mac n cheese but that was also incredible, providing a nice contrast to the steak with incredible flavor. Our dinner may have been pricier than I usually do but it was all amazing food and the experience was worth it. I'd highly recommend everyone give it a try! read more

They were constantly present and helped with recommendations - which might seem obvious, but I can't tell you how many times I go out to eat elsewhere and the server disappears in the back the entire time or seems miserable with their life - that was not the case at all here.
