She was attentive, friendly and just very good at her job. I decided on French Toast with Scrambled Eggs & Bacon. Other dishes for our group included Chicken Fried Steak, Biscuits, Muffins and Pancakes. It all looked so good! I loved the French Toast. The Bacon was perfectly cooked and the Salsa I was given on the side was tasty on the Eggs. My only complaint is I asked for a Tropical Tea (it's on the menu). The guy taking our drink orders kind of snapped at me saying, we don't have Tropical Tea! Not a huge deal but worth mentioning.

I've ordered various items here, from their chilaquiles, biscuits and gravy, pancake/waffle combo, egg combos, to their pies and muffins. The food is always fresh and has good flavor. Their coffee is good, there are flavored creamers, and there is attentive staff to keep my cup full. The service is exceptional and very friendly. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Prices are reasonable and there is plenty of free parking. Love this place and worth trying.

I got there pretty early around 4:45PM, so it was still pretty empty with only a few other people there. I'm not sure if it was because the restaurant was still empty at the time or if our server was simply that awesome, but she was great! She was very attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu and specials. I started with the chips and salsa and onion rings from the all-day happy hour menu. Both were fresh and tasty. Once my friends arrived, we ordered draft beers, which were also good and came out quickly, with quick refills throughout our visit. I also ordered the mango habanero boneless wings, which came with carrots and celery. The wings were huge, fresh, and served hot. They had a good amount of sauce, with a nice crispy exterior while still being juicy on the inside. I believe it was around $15 for 8 pieces, and I would definitely order them again. I also really like that they mute the music and play the game audio throughout the entire venue. It makes watching the game much more enjoyable. I definitely want to try the Scripps Ranch location next to see if the experience is just as good. You really can't beat all-day happy hour! Overall, a great first experience, and I'll definitely be back to try some of the other menu items.

The portions are huge! Each reasonably priced meal is at least 3 meals for me. The meat (especially the tri tip - IMO my fave) is so tender and juicy! They have a wide range of sauces to try and I love the horseradish cream. They have indoor and outdoor seating, are dog friendly and only open Thursday-Sunday so beware! Don't skip on this spot because it's a little hidden (industrial area of El Cajon). It's well worth the adventure to get there! Ps. The sides are amazing too... corn bread, potato salad, beans, coleslaw... regular salad with homemade ranch... oh em gee. My mouth is watering thinking about it!

Anyways.. we ordered at the counter and our food was brought out to us after just a few minutes.. I got there pulled pork sandwich. The sandwich had a huge amount of pulled pork. This, and their tri tip sandwich was savory and satisfying. Husband got the baby back ribs. They came off the bone easily. My family esp enjoyed their Mac n cheese balls with the dip that comes it. The sides are purchased separate and come in generous sharing portions. We enjoyed the sweet potato fries, potato wedges, and onion rings. All nice n crisp. By that point, I was too full and took some bread pudding home for later. I enjoyed the flavor, but the texture was bit too mushy for me. The ladies working were incredibly friendly and sweet to everyone. A nice casual, clean dining area. There were multiple TVs on showing sports, without it being super loud. The dining area was actually a bit quiet until more people started showing up. Prices are fair. Definitely a place to try.

What I like about this place is that they have a whole list of free sauces that you can request a heat places that charge extra for sauces. They also have an extensive list of milkshakes and beers. The service was nothing special as you order at the counter and they bring out your food. It looks like a normal upscale burger joint or just regular American restaurant. The Oaks proved to be the perfect venue. When we arrived, the group had commandeered several tables in the dining room. Becky and I bellied up the adjacent large horseshoe shaped bar. The TVs were all tuned to various NFL games. A group of Steelers fans were in the dining room next to our group watching and cheering their team on a giant TV. Becky and I wanted to watch the Seahawks. Mike, Director of the Carlton Oaks Country Club, was happy to put it on one of the many TVs for us. We wanted a snack, so we ordered the Potato Skins. Potato halves filled with cheese, bacon bits and chives. They are cut lengthwise in half for easier dipping and eating. Served with ranch and sour cream for dipping. Bottles of Tapatio, Tabasco and Cholula were provided if you wanted to spice it up. They were quite tasty and the perfect portion size. Price was right too! Because of the acoustics, the dining room can get a little loud. If you just want to chill and take in the view, step outside to the patio. Great views of the golf course. Service at the bar was friendly and on point. The large groups in the dining room were being well taken care of as well.
