This bar and grill does not disappoint! Their food is consistently good, and the menu is diverse and pretty on trend. (This is literally the only place I've found that has carajillos on the menu.) Brussels sprouts are crisp but not greasy. I ordered a side of gyros and got a decent-sized portion. My hubby ordered a meat-free pizza for Lent, and was still happy with it. (They have gf and cauliflower crusts too, so !) We have both decided that this is the place for pizza in Santee. The weather is perfect in the spring for outdoor dining. There are shades for privacy since the restaurant's got grocery store traffic. The throwback rock music suits the establishment, and isn't too loud if you want a good convo. There are also lots of TVs both inside and out. Today's server, Lizzy, was so amazing! Super attentive, patient with questions, and quick to offer refills. I came to 52 Junction while waiting for a table. I noticed they were seating smaller parties before us, even though our group was only five people. We waited for about 40 minutes. After watching other groups go in ahead of us and realizing our table still wasn't coming, I eventually got tired of waiting and spoke with the hostess to let her know. Her response was that I just needed to wait for a table, but it felt like it was never going to happen. I'm disappointed with how the wait was handled and I won't be coming back here. I hope this goes better for other people. I wish I can leave no stars but in order for me to leave a review I need to put one. read more

Nah man, we don't need to return to Junction 52. It just wasn't very good. The price point didn't hit either. We were seated on the patio. The NFL Wildcard game was on all the TVs, so that was a plus. We started with drinks. A pint of Buenaveza was $7, which is relatively normal pricing. But 9 bucks for a pint of Ashland Seltzer is crazy. 2 Spicy Chicken Deluxe Sliders $16 Pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, house sauce and shoestring fries. They were decent, but not even remotely spicy. Chicken was cooked well with crunchy exterior and not dried out inside. Zero spice. If anything, the sauce on them was sweet. 2 Double Double Wagyu Beef Sliders $18 American cheese (subbed pepper jack), grilled onions, house sauce and shoestring fries. Inedible. Two overcooked hockey pucks in a bun. Two bites were all I could stomach. 18 bucks for burnt burgers. The fries were good and plentiful. I appreciated the pickle wedge. Service was sluggish at best. At one point we had to flag down a different server and ask to have ours return. We had been waiting, with empty drink glasses, to order our meals. She was friendly enough, just not very attentive. Since the junction in EL Cajon is still not open after the fire and doesn't look like it has even started construction. We took Dad to the Junction in Santee. All I can say is they are not a duplicate of El Cajon. Service is slow and not as friendly. The food quality is subpar at best. It was taco Tuesday and I ordered two carne asada tacos and a fish taco. The fish taco had a tiny piece of fish and was filled with coleslaw or at least that is what it seemed like. The carne asada was just pot roast beef and tasted old. My wife ordered the Macand cheese with chicken. It was half the size of what we are used to for a higher price. Dad ordered the French dip and was happy with his meal. The ambiance is that of a sports bar with a lot of TVs with a variety of sports on. We had to ask for refills of our drinks twice and we're not asked about the reward phone number. We also forgot and missed out on that. We are hoping things get moving on the El Cajon restaurant. My parents-in-law visited us here in San Diego (we are located in Santee atm), and they were craving American food. I came across some great reviews for this place, so I thought, why not give it a try? I ordered the bites steak with Pepsi, my husband and mother-in-law had the tacos, and my father-in-law went for the meatballs with marinara. Honestly, it was my first time having a meat dish without salad or soup, but thankfully they served bread, and I finished everything! Sooo worth it but won't try again or I should get salad and/or soup. The food was delicious, and my family loved what they had. I'm thankful because I was the one who found the restaurant. I didn't capture many photos since everyone was so hungry, haha! They have both indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to sit outside for a more intimate setting, inside was more like a bar with louder music and several TVs. The server was very nice too. Definitely worth trying this place! read more

I'm not a connoisseur of bar food but this is what I imagine it is. I came here with a friend and ordered the "elote bites" and buffalo chicken fries. The elote bites should be renamed "southwestern bites" because this isn't elote at all. This is straight up texmex and kind of ridiculous to mask it as elote when it's clearly the Southwestern Bites available pre frozen from Sysco. They came on a scant amount of brown and limp shredded lettuce. Whoever the cook is wasn't in the mood for plating lmao. It looked pathetic. The buffalo chicken fries were mutilated chicken strips - I say mutilated because the bredding was all over and the chicken was partially shredded and mangled. Sharpen a knife maybe? There was maybe the equivalent of a 2oz tender parked on top of franks red hot, some Rico's nacho cheese, and cold fries. The only way I'd assume you'd enjoy the food... is if you were drunk. Junction 52 absolutely delivered! The star of the night was the Tequila Chicken Pasta -- unbelievably flavorful, super creamy, and the tequila kick ties everything together perfectly. Pro tip: squeeze some fresh lemon on top for extra umph... it takes it to a whole new level. Trust. Their wings? Fire. Perfect flavor-to-crisp ratio -- crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and seasoned just right. Easily some of the best wings I've had in the area. With the unfortunate circumstances that occurred at their sister location in El Cajon, we decided to give this location a try again. We live in Santee, but continued to go to El Cajon because the food in Santee is so bad! After giving it another try, nothing has changed, it is awful! The menus are the same, but that is where it ends. We have been there about a half a dozen times and every time a major disappointment. If they are interested in improving their kitchen, hire the El Cajon crew to take over and fix it. read more

We've been going here for years, and it was always one of our favorites. But in the last 6 months the quality of the food has really gone downhill. Then, about a week ago, we both had fajitas. The meat was so tasteless, and the beans tasted like it needed salt. To make matters worse, we ended up with food poisoning. We were sick for 3 days from that food. But what made me the maddest was that we contacted them through their website to complain, and they didn't even give us the courtesy of responding to our message. Clearly our loyalty is no longer warranted. read more

We frequently go to the Junction in El Cajon, with it closed due to fire this the next best thing. Every time we have come here since the fire we have had some sort of issue: food or service. Today's visit was service and to be perfectly honest, we should have known better as it being a nice day we decided to eat outside, that was our mistake! The rest is our server, she completely forgot about us. First off my wife ordered the excellent pizza and she was not offered a plate to eat from, so she asked for a plate that never came. The server never came back leaving an empty Iced Tea glass for the balance of meal, and to top it off when she did show up again she realized she forgot the plate and asked if we still wanted one but, by that time we were basically finished and the server walked away without acknowledging the empty Iced Tea. We asked for a box for the pizza and were given a box so small we needed an extra plastic box to take the rest of the pizza that didn't fit in the pizza box, seems odd that the boxes you have don't fit the pizza you serve. I again, ask the question why do servers who see a table that is cleared with take out boxes filled, ask if there is anything else she can do and then has to go back in to find our check to bring it right back out. Is it wrong to assume a talented server would know we have already asked for boxes to take home to have check in hand? read more

There is also a banquette running along a side of the room. Parking is easy in the ample parking lot out front. Once inside, the hostess is usually quick to seat you. The menu reaches for heights a bit above the standard bar fare. I like the BLT Sandwich with avocado added and nice crispy French Fries.
