I WAS a regular customer at casino inn until my last visit. Sat at a table at 4:30pm , within 2 minutes the waitress Put a reservation sign on the table for 5:30. Don't get me wrong food was good. We got our food at 5:15pm The waitress kept pushing us, to get us out by 5:30. Because somebody had put reservations on that table. Very wrong. I usually tip good, but I will not be going back. Had a terrible experience for brunch at the Casino Inn recently. We went as a small group so we could support a local business, listen to music and catch up. Once the music got set up on the patio, it was so loud, you couldn't talk with anyone at the table. not a nice way to spend a relaxing afternoon with friends. but ok, we moved inside. The music, by the way, was excellent. So it's not that. Inside we had a server who seemed new or not very well trained. For a place that serves breakfast and lunch, it was odd that at 10 minutes before noon, we still could not order "lunch" items. but ok - pivot to breakfast. we placed drink orders and food. What came out was disappointing. we asked if the bottomless mimosas could have a little cranberry juice added. Server said not problem. What came out were cranberry mimosas, no orange juice in sight. when food came out, it left a lot to be desired. The avocado toast order was awful. plain white, grocery bread barely toasted with an avocado smash (container spread from the store or costco?) and dried grated parmesan cheese (like from the plastic container in the grocer) not as advertised and definitely not what one expects for this dish. The side of bacon was forgotten. The eggs benedict looked ok however the hollandaise sauce was barely existent and what was there was split. Making it barely edible. The other breakfast dishes were just ok. Biscuits and gravy looked good. lots of it and chunky. scrambled eggs and hashbrowns are hard to mess up. But for one person, the hashbrowns were pretty much cooked to a crisp and a lot of grease on the plate. that person left those to the bin. And had a hair on the plate. We had to ask for the bottomless mimosa to be refilled. The server took the glasses, and when they came back, one was orange, one was cranberry and THE GLASSES WERE REUSED! Unacceptable!! if the server didn't know, the bartender should know NOT to reuse glasses. Even if it is our own glasses, you don't reuse them. If you want music, average food, and drinks - this will be ok. The band was really good. The food experience was dreadful. read more

Lovely find in Alpine! I concur with those who call this a gem. Situated right off the side of the road, the Casino Inn is neither a casino nor an inn haha Rather it's a wonderfully spacious restaurant and bar. We adored the decor. We came for the $3 smasher burger special!! They were a good size for the price. We paired it with the garlic tater tots, which were crispy and garlicky! Our server was quick with everything! Service at the Casino Inn has taken a hard Hit. It was 10 minutes before we were asked for drinks as we were getting ready to leave. We order water tea and Pepsi. We got ultra and Pepsi, no water. Then another 12 minutes before she came to take our order. Again we were going to pay for our drinks and leave. She came and took our order and now empty drinks and still no water. What used to be a great spot has changed. The ambiance has changed a little with nicer seating and a bar area. Constant music. Not my genre. The menu has changed and no longer has prime rib or pork chops. It looks like they are trying be fancier than they were. Maybe new owners? The food was good, fries had a weird taste and maybe a (2). Worst service ever. Waitresses dont even care whether you've been helped or need anything. Rather instead, they'll silently pick up dirty dishes and look in the other direction. the live music is a nice touch. Food was ok. Breakfast burger was good, but the artichoke dip looked nasty, i didnt even touch it. I gave it to the table next to me. Theres plenty of other places to go to instead of this one. read more

We made a reservation on Friday evening for Saturday. You changed the band. You let a group make a reservation on top of the reservations already made. When we came I sat down we were told that our reservation would not be honored. We live in alpine and support your business. This is a slap in the face. The girls working there were supper nice but how frustrating for them them to deal with the mess the management made. You may sell out to a group once in a while but it's the locals that have supported you. So disappointed. read more

Ordered a chicken sandwich and my friend ordered the salmon. Chicken had a hair in it so she remade it. I ate half just to discover more hair in the second sandwich. I obviously had no appetite. My waitress said we wouldn't have to pay for either meal but just as we were leaving she came back and charged us for the salmon. She said we would get 50% off our next visit. But why would I come back to a place that served food with hair in it, nor once but TWICE?! Plus you charged me for a meal. Never going here again. read more

Went to see my friends band play. The bar was nice. Good outdoor seating. They did run out of propane for the heaters but it wasn't too cold. The food was ok. We have been here before, it's been a while and I was SO disappointed!!! We ordered a burger the flavor was good but I was shocked to see the patty on my burger it wasn't even the same size as the bun it was about 3/4 of the size!! The amount they charge is ridiculous not to mention how much they charge for beers!! They are really proud of their food!! It really was NOT worth $19 for a burger!!! Great vibe - sat on the patio. Service was a little slow at first after the end of the live music from bunch, but once they got their feet under them it was fine for the rest of our stay. Ran out of Bloody Mary mix? Wtf? It's in the back, too busy to get it, not only with the Bloody Mary mix but also vanilla vodka. Everyone at the table Got their food at different times, all after waiting over an hour. Everyone got their food but no... i waited 20 More minutes. Found out there is a new manager. Wow. No where to be found. His day off? Wtf? This bar could have made a lot of money but was so disorganized it was crazy. I hope the owners see this post. Your bartender sucked, made one drink at a time, no bussers, no wait staff to come back ever! Never took drink orders! Crazy! Yea, you're losing money for sure! It was a shit show!!! The Casino Inn off of I-8 exceeded our expectations! We're staying at Vieja's and made reservations for dinner at the Cafe with an hour and a half wait. We decided to go to Casino Inn. We had seen it on the road on our to Vieja's. We walked in slightly intimidated, but when we heard the live music, we thought, "Yah baby!!!" The lettuce cups are the best I've ever had... I'm a lettuce cup lover! The ceasar salad with grilled chicken was first class along with the chili!!! Sam, our server was such a gem! Thank you for your hospitality and delicious food!!! We have tried and tried to like this place. The service is non-existent. 30 minutes to get a draft beer is not uncommon. Maybe it's a "locals only" thing. After 5 tries, we are done. My wife and I have been here before, maybe 4 or 5 times a year, over the past couple of years. We've enjoyed watching what it has become. The food is what keeps us coming back. It is awesome! It looks kind of like a "dive bar," which we're fine with, but this is not "dive bar" food. We went there on Saturday afternoon. They had a corned beef special. I thought: It's St. Patty's Day weekend, I'll give it a shot. Wow! I almost never give a 5 star rating, but I have to. This corned beef was the best I have ever had!!! I almost teared up! This was one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten. Thank you! Although now, every other corned beef is going to suffer by comparison. I was impressed. Also, they had a peanut butter shot. This was no Skrewball! This was as good, if not better, than the OG at the OB Noodle house. Legit! It should be illiegal. But, at the same time, I think it should be on the menu all the time! You could definitely call me a fan of this cute dive bar in gorgeous Alpine . A friend of mine invited me to meet him here in 2016 and I said " where ?" Lol I had never heard of the place . Im really glad introduced me because this is a great dive bar with a restaurant. I've yet to eat here . Only because I'm here to cut loose and always forget they serve food and eat before I get there . The drinks are GREAT and a good price . Their new bartender Michael AWESOME. He's great ! Love his drinks and personality. Nearly every time I've stopped by there's been live music playing . Some bands are better than others . Stopped in here by happenstance for a quick lunch with a friend of mine. Was very impressed by the quality of the food. Service was excellent and our food was served in a timely manner. The place is a bar, so there are billiards and some video slot machines. The atmosphere is relaxed, nothing too heavy duty. The bathroom was very clean and so was the rest of the place. All in all, this is a great little food stop while in Alpine and even better if you're looking for some beer along with your meal. Highly recommended! read more

My wife and I spent couple days in Alpine after Christmas. We are a big fan of local bars that have live music so we decided to give the Casino Inn a try. The night started off a little disappointing because the band canceled. However our server Kelly was amazing and the drinks were great. We also shared the surf and turf plate and it was delicious. When it was time to leave we were unable to get an Uber. We mentioned this to Kelly and she asked us where we were staying which just up the road. She told us that she would be happy to give us a ride since she passes right by our hotel. This is a great reminder that there are still nice people in this world. Kelly went above and beyond.
