I had the shepherds pie, i will go back for it. The drink prices were kinda high. I had a beer while waiting for my order, it was over $9. The bartender was nice and personable. The inside was clean and had several TVs showing different football games, and plenty of seating. I just missed the brunch menu, but looks like it's worth a try.

Best fish & chips around so it's always my go-to along with a Guinness (or 2). Service even when they're busy seems to go smoothly without any issues. Friendly staff and if you like Saint paddy's day atmosphere - the place to go. And Irish coffee is a must for a night cap before leaving!!

Came by here before seeing a movie and it was a very enjoyable experience. No wait to get seated and the staff were all very quick and friendly. There's nice areas in the place from the bar to the booths in the dining area where we sat. Ordered a blue cheese salad which was very good, as well as the Scotch egg which I loved but was super filling. My main dish was the corned beef and cabbage which is my favorite dish ever, which ended up being good but not quite what I expected. I guess it was a pretty wet dish than what I'm used to, which I'm thinking was due to the cheesy potato side that came with it. Overall, I'd come back here and would be interested in trying their other dishes.

Used to come here back in the days for zucchini tacos!!! Decided to drop by since we were in the area and try out other options on the menu. What happened??? We ordered the following CALAMARI STRIPS Served with lemon, cocktail sauce & sweet chili dipping sauce PRIME RIB DIP French roll & Swiss cheese, served au jus and creamy horseradish on the side. Side of tater tots GRILLED SALMON Served with long grain wild rice & sautéed spinach. Everything was ok. I don't know but I had a higher expectation from past experiences. The calamari strips were good. The sandwich was delicious. The salmon was a bit dry and the spinach was overly salted. They brought another one but it was still a bit salty.

Pretty good food. Draughts are fresh. But the prices have increased over the years and the Happy Hour is pretty meh.

Hooleys reminded me of many similar places in many different cities and, well, it was always right here, right in the town. It has the same touch, same ambience, same style, however you wanna call it to be an Irish restaurant/pub. Menu has got all the favorites one can think of. I'd love live music if they play here. I've heard they do. It's right next to the theater and you've got all the parking lot to yourself.

Ask the Community - Hooleys Public House

Ok for kids?

Hooley's is great for kids! There are plenty of kids there all the time. A lot of their food is kid friendly

Thinking of going tomorrow evening for my husband's birthday, is the menu shared on the FB page current? I know someone said sides are no longer included with burgers, sandwiches, etc. Is that true? Are there any specials on Wednesdays?

Is there kareoke?

Troy, no we do not have karaoke. But we do have Live Music on Friday and Saturday evenings. Thank you.

This spot just gets it…read more I came through recently and was honestly excited before I even ordered food because they had a solid selection of NA mocktails. For a bar, that's not always a given, and as someone who doesn't drink as much these days, that immediately stood out to me. I grabbed a lavender leprechaun and it was super refreshing, light, and just a really nice change of pace from the usual soda-or-water options. It didn't feel like an afterthought, it actually felt intentional. For food, I went with the corned beef sandwich and it did not disappoint. Hearty, flavorful, and exactly what you'd want from a proper Irish pub. The whole place has that classic pub vibe but still feels welcoming whether you're drinking or not. That balance is rare, and I really appreciated it. Definitely a spot I'd come back to, especially knowing I've got solid non-alcoholic options to enjoy.

Stopped by The Field Irish Pub in downtown San Diego for a Guinness and a bite on St Patrick's Day,…read moreso as expected, it was absolutely packed. Despite the crowds, service was impressively fast. We grabbed seats at the bar and were taken care of right away, which was a pleasant surprise given how busy it was. Food-wise, the fish and chips were good, but not amazing--solid, but nothing to rave about. The sausage rolls, unfortunately, were a bit underwhelming for me. I was hoping for a crispier, flakier pastry, but they fell a little short in texture. One thing I really miss is the live music they used to have before Covid. It added so much to the atmosphere, and I'd love to see them bring that back. Outside of big events like St. Patrick's Day, the place can feel a bit quiet, so the music would definitely elevate the overall vibe. Overall, still a great spot for a pint and good service--especially impressive during peak crowds--but there's definitely room to bring back some of that old charm.

I hate leaving questionable reviews.. but also feel when we researched places we didn't get an accurate story. This is a true neighborhood pub.. the place you come so everybody knows your name. Which I love and can appreciate. But as an outsider it was kinda chaotic instead. A bartender came to clean a table for us. The largest grossest bugger hanging out of his nose, he had sweat marks so large there was no need to lift his arms to see them. He proceeded then to do shots at the bar with costumers. Which again... I totally can appreciate having a good time in a good neighborhood pub. The floors were so dirty around the booths. The menus dirty. Just over all couldn't stay and eat here. Did get some good laughs watching a few very inebriated customers, had some good drinks and went on our way. We personally wouldn't come back, but again if you live in the neighborhood and it's just that place you come to for your hang with friends, it's looks like it's a fun place.

It feels real, comfortable, and consistent every time you walk in. This has actually become a tradition for us. The food is always solid, drinks are right, and the atmosphere just fits. Nothing overcomplicated, just a place that does what it's supposed to do and does it well.
