This place is a surprising gem set in a strip mall. Service was prompt and friendly. Really 3.5 stars but I rounded up because of the location. Coffee is decent. -.5 Syrup is not maple, it's Aunt Jemima which I haven't seen since I was a kid. -1 star My farmer's omelette was delicious and the hash browns were tasty, crisp on the outside and soft inside. The blueberry waffle was HUGE. Lots of blue berries and a bit of cinnamon. As someone who lives in walking distance to The Trails, which I don't find to be the best, this place caught me surprise. Came pretty early in the morning after dropping one of the kids off at camp. Party of 10 old foggies oddly talking about AI. A few single old dudes which the owner knew by name and engaged in a kind homey way. The food here is exactly what I needed. It's like old town classic plus serving every breakfast item the way it's meant to be - simple, solid, tasty. While my dish wasn't pretty it was perfect. Tbh it's older and rustic. I love that vibe. I grew up on mom and pop diners so it's lovely to see when they're thriving. The waitress was super accommodating to what I wanted when I asked for extra crispy and it didn't come out that way I didn't even have to ask. Alberto greeted us warmly and invited us to sit wherever we liked. Within moments he brought us waters and menus. We asked for coffees while we looked over the menu and again Alberto was right there in a jiffy with them. We decided on the Greek omelette for me, Mexican style (refried beans, rice and corn tortillas) and hubs ordered the 2 egg breakfast. As we waited we noticed several groups meeting up at the restaurant that seemed to be regular patrons. Our food arrived and we pretty much scarfed it down, lol. Next to one of my favorite coffee houses is this unassuming diner like location. I know Café is in the name, but I'm not sure if I'd call it a café. They serve coffee, but not a wide range of coffees. But, it is small, very much like a diner. Even has that old-time type of field to it. Staff was terrific. Everyone was friendly and attentive. We arrived right before the lunch crowd. It was a great place to have a breakfast meeting as it wasn't too noisy. I had the veggie frittata with well done country potatoes, and an iced tea. It was good, but had me wondering the difference between the frittata and an egg omelette. It could be me but the frittatas I've had in the past are usually thicker. Having said that it was ok, and served my appetite. The person I was with have the same thing but they're cottage fries were extra crispy. She thoroughly enjoyed her meal. I was very happy. The menu is interesting as there are a few different cultures in the menu. It could be interesting to go back and try a lunch meal. Some thing about the place is just very cozy. Mediocre and bland. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing. I really wanted to try the chicken souvlaki, but it's made with dark meat which is not my preference. I ordered the Chicken tostada, but was told they were out of chicken breast and would substitute chicken skewers (dark meat). I ended up with the French dip (no cheese). The au jus was bland and the two pieces of meat on the sandwich were dry and overcooked. The fries were a hit, but the Heinz ketchup bottle was obviously refilled with generic ketchup. (We watched the server refilling Log Cabin syrup bottles with generic as well). My companion opted for the Gyro salad. It was good... no complaints, but would have preferred at least a whole pita, not just three measly pieces. The server was friendly and our food came out in a timely manner. Overall a 3.2. However, I did enjoy my Mushroom Omelet, even though my request for "lite mushrooms" was ignored-there were too many mushrooms. Also, the Raspberry Tea brand (out of the fountain) is absolutely horrible-Fuze. As for the ambiance, it's s simple diner-pretty clean. Nothing fancy. When we walked in, we were the only customers. My family and I have enjoyed Patti's for years, I have to Laugh because I'll always look at the menu then choose the same thing. I love the Greek combo plate, I exchange the Rice and get French Fries instead. We also love the lemon soup. I don't ever remember my kids, wife or friends complain about Patti's.
