The most poppin' Irish Pub in the area! Came by on St. Patty's day to grab some classic Irish food to-go. Looked amazing in there, but I couldn't stay. Friendly staff, and a good local vibe. Everything we got was AMAZING: Guinness stew, Shepherds pie, corned beef and cabbage, potato balls. Surprisingly delicious & flavorful for "pub food"! Is it just me or are pubs such a fun switch up for a restaurant to eat at? My friend and I came in after we had gone for a long hike so we were ready to chow down. You order your food at the bar and then they bring it to your table. We both got the shepherds pie and it was different than any other shepherds pie I've ever had. I would say the meat part was more liquidy and the ratio of meat to potatoes definitely skewed heavy on the meat side , which is never a bad thing. It was a very hearty and comforting meal to eat. Really rough place. Definitely not a family friendly place. The bartender was attentive and nice, but there were a bunch of "regulars" who were drinking for effect and swearing loudly a lot!! I sat at the end of the bar alone to watch the game and grab dinner, but didn't last five minutes when a really drunk couple sat right next to me and started yelling and dropping f bombs before she put her bare feet on the bar for her guy to rub - no kidding. While visiting from out of town, we wanted somewhere with a local feel (but also welcoming to non-locals) with live music and Poway's Irish Pub hit the mark. We came on a Friday night around 9:30 and the place was full so no open seats, but we were able to order drinks pretty quick. Nothing fancy, just traditional bar drinks. We always see off of Poway road, we had a few hours and wanted to try a new place so we stopped by. We walked on around 3:30 Saturday and the place was pretty packed. Everyone was really nice and welcoming, truly like your friendly neighborhood bar. Music was playing and everyone was smiling, chatting, and laughing. We got fries which came in a decent sized basket and had two sides of probably some of the best ranch I've ever had. They have a decent sized menu with some tasty looking bar bites. My husband got a Coors Light (draft) and I got a double Jameson and club soda. Wow, what a drink! I was asked short or tall and of course I chose short and it packed a punch. The bartender was always smiling and was tending to not only us sitting at the bar but to those sitting indoors and outside and she was very attentive to everyone. This is not a bad thing, but if you have your kiddos in tow you will be disappointed, because they won't be going in. The Paddy Balls are listed on the menu as a must have. This is not a lie or an exaggeration, you should order these, they are delicious! We also had the fish and chips and fish and onion rings. Both side options were tasty, but I'd say the fries had the edge. The fish was nice and flaky. They had a tartar sauce and an aioli and they pair perfectly. The potatoes especially were really good! I got a Caesar Salad as well, no complaints there. Also the entrees came with rolls and butter and honey! Nice bonus! We just hung out at the bar. The bartenders were really friendly and nice ladies to chat with about beers and stuff. I can only speak for the sandwiches, which we got to go. We ordered two Club sandwiches with onion rings. The sandwiches were gigantic! My son can usually pack away food and I don't even think he was able to eat half the sandwich. The onion rings also were good. We stopped in quick for our food. It looks like your typical neighborhood bar: Sports on TV, a pool table, a small stage for music. Sandwiches were pricey: about $15, but one sandwich is at least a two-person meal. This is a great dive bar in the center of Poway. Great drinks, pool table, loud music, and lots of friendly locals. If you need a break an outside area for smokers or just grabbing some fresh air. We have stopped by several times for their tap beer (which is a great selection). read more

Josh and Rob took great cars of us and the drinks were nice and strong. Not what I am used to at all living in UT. We ate dinner before we got there but we couldn't resist getting something to snack on while we were hanging out. They ordered a basket of fries and I ordered the Paddy's Balls. The fries were not very crispy but they were nicely salted and I like that they still had some skins on them. The Paddy's balls were unbelievable. Whoever invented those, you get a huge kudos from me. Cheesy mashed potatoes that have breading on the outside and are fried?!?! Hell yes. They come served with some ranch on the side and holy cow are they scrumptious. Genius bar food. Their menu is pretty large and I don't think you could go wrong with anything on there. Tonight they had Miss Demeanor playing live and they had a great mix of 80s rock with current popular songs. Great way to keep the crowd amped up and dancing. I'm not sure if I was getting happy hour prices, but I think this is the least I've paid for brand drafts. They have bar food. It soaks up the beer in your stomach most effectively. Live music! Hit it on those days and you will find a bustling popular noisy vibe going on. Other times, it's a quiet spot where you can have a nice conversation. Wouldn't recommend it as a place to bring a date, unless you already know each other well. Great spot to grab a few drinks with friends after work! Parking lot is kind of small. Went in last night to celebrate my brother's birthday, they paid for the pool table to play at and the people standing there were saying if you want the table you gotta lose to us which was stupid bc WE PAID FOR THE TABLE. Then he continued by calling us habibis and the bartender was absolutely unprofessional when we asked her to kick him out bc we felt uncomfortable she said she will but she sat him at the bar instead laughing with him about the situation. If I could give this place 0 starts I would. It was my first time going to this place and I will never return. Just know if you go to this place the staff don't care about your comfortability.
