I was not that impressed was really looking for live music and some entertainment but the living room was pretty dark. The food was mediocre. Maybe we just came on an off day during the weekend but I certainly think this place has a lot of potential. The portions were a bit small for the high steep prices. Ate here last night while on vacation. Waitress was clearly it happy when we did not order alcohol. No non alcoholic drinks on menu, which we would have ordered. I was surprised at the meager portions for the price. I had penne with vodka and added shrimp for $10. Got 5 overcooked shrimp. Not much penne. Did not fill bowl at all. Visited 8/20/2025 I hadn't heard much about the food here and it only has a 3 1/2 Star rating on Yelp but I had to try it for myself. We were in the mood for Pasta but didn't feel like driving a long way and I remembered my good friend Dan Edwards trying several Italian themed dishes here and I enjoy his food reviews so had to give it a try. First this place is far from I thought it would be like inside. Quite nice actually with a large dining room and a great little lounge to hang out in. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The menu Is a surprise as well with a great selection of dishes including Pasta, Burgers and Sandwiches, Pizza, Full Entrees, and of course Appetizers. We Ordered, The House Made Lobster Ravioli. $23.00 The pasta was cooked a perfect Al Dente and the Filling and Sauce were so delicious that we mopped every drop off the bowl with the tasty Garlic Bread. So Good. We Also had The House Made Lasagna $21.00 Damn never expected such a fantastic Meat Sauce and perfect tasting House made Noodles. I wanted to lick the bowl. We each had a side Salad and again was amazed with the in house dressings. I went with Ranch and Loretta had Thousand Island. Both were addicting. All in All I'll be coming back to try several other Pasta Dishes on the menu. Prices were very fair for the serving size better than most other places for the Quality and Freshness of the food. From the moment we walked in, we agreed with a smile. The host was simply amazing the server Kasie did a phenomenal job by getting us beer recommendations in excellence service. The food was simply amazing and tasted delicious. The only critique that I have for the ambience while you're playing music in the dining hall while there was karaoke going in the back, you should stick to one or the other as it's a little confusing karaoke here is absolutely amazing and I wouldn't hide it. read more

Even more amazing was their down to earth, attentive staff. Brenda hosted us. Been here before and it was great, today, no where close. Steak was tough and the burger tasted like the meat was bad. And then they were gonna charge us for it even after we said something. What a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner at the Barn. We were greeted by Shelby who we know and were led to lounge. Shelby was our amazing server and bartender. What a wonderful person. We chatted for a while and then ordered tequilla drinks which were Don Julio Blanco with club soda and three limes muddled with mint. We also ordered the bruscheta and I had a small dinner salad. The ambiance was cozy and romantic. We then ordered dinner with my wife ordering the fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken and I had the chicken parmesan. Both dishes were prepared and presented perfectly. So tasty. After dinner we shared a piece of their amazing carrot cake. What a wonderful evening and Shelby and the other staff were amazing. It's really a 4.5 star rating. Why? Because it's just another restaurant that doesn't reflect their correct pricing online, even though there was a note of being "just updated", or something like that. So naturally the prices on the menu were a good bit higher. Bait and switch? That's what it felt like. But moving on, the somewhat overpriced lasagna was indeed very good. Better than expected. It floated in a sea of delicious bolognese sauce but only came with a small portion of bread to help sop it up. But I would return for another helping. The other thing that exceeded my expectations from the reviews I read was the service. I was lucky to be served by a charming young lady by the name of Ashley. First of all, The Barn is completely different now. It is no longer a fun country bar/restaurant with a dance floor, it has formal seating with too many tables squished together so it's very tight to walk through. We made a reservation ahead of time and asked for two high chairs and kids menus. Our party arrived and they did not have enough menus for everyone so we had to share, we had to ask several times for the kids menus and high chairs, and they had a saxophone player so loud we couldn't hear each other speak without yelling. When placing our orders, some of our party wanted pizzas. Turns out they ran out of dough so they weren't serving pizzas. It took our food an hour and a half to come out after we had to ask about it. The only reason it's 2 stars is because the food was good. read more

The Barn has such a charming and visually appealing atmosphere, but it's disappointing to see how it's being mismanaged. When I visited, I sat at the bar and watched people line dancing, which was a lot of fun. However, when the music stopped, only one person joined me at the bar, and I quickly realized why - the rest were underage. It felt really uncomfortable. I have to question the safety of allowing so many teenagers to dance in close proximity to a bar full of adults who are drinking, without any clear way to identify who is of legal drinking age, not to the people that work here, but to other customers. This creates a potentially dangerous situation. It's crucial to implement measures to easily recognize minors to prevent any inappropriate mingling. Drunk adults should not be in a position where they could be watching or interacting with children in such an environment. On a lighter note, they add Dill to their Ranch Dressing which I personally do not like. read more

I came with my little sister to this place. And can I just say that this place has a cute country charm to it. From the spacious parking lot to the decor on the walls and ceilings covered with mini disco balls for the line dancing nights right in front of a stage. The food seemed a little pricy so we went with the burgers, mushroom Swiss and bbq (can't forget the real name) but they were absolutely gourmet-style burgers. Meat cooked perfectly medium rare with the perfectly toasted bun and fries uniquely seasoned to a perfect crisp-not burnt. The burgers looked so perfect that we ate them so fast without even taking a proper picture Thank you chefs Our server Savannah was attentive but who really made us feel at home was one of their top servers, Shelby. With 20 years in the industry and a local, she really went out of her way to give us a tour of the backside lounge with bar, a slightly more modern country feel but very appealing for a guys or girls night out or date night. I also got to meet the owner, Vinny or Vito (sorry I felt embarrassed because I have not the best hearing) who was at the host stand and made sure to ask about our experience. His calm and collective nature made me feel like he's the kind of person you want running a mighty fine dining and dancing establishment in a small town like Ramona. I was shocked to walk in and be treated with disrespect and attitude. I have been here multiple times and have always ordered multiple meals and tipped well. within 10 minutes we where approached by 4 different servers telling us if we don't order food our table will be taken from us. The restaurant was empty with only 2 other tables being occupied. When the 4th server came up to us (The owners wife) my girlfriend was fed up and told her that we are reoccurring customers and will order despite there thoughts, However we haven't even had enough time to get through the menu. She replied rudely saying "I am the owner and the tables are only for paying customers only". We were also told we couldn't get waters unless we ordered a meal while we were actively searching the menu . What made me decide to leave early was when the 2 owners were staring at us, pointing, and very clearly talking about us to each other. when we confronted them multiple times with the fact that being interrogated while trying to order food was an unpleasant feeling one of the staff continued to talk back also saying "this is called service". when we asked for a refund for our dancing wristbands after saying we where going to leave the owner finally apologized. I also have to note that my girlfriend has been coming here for the past 2 years with her family and has never had problems until the two of (that look younger) went alone. I don't understand how this place hasn't been laughed out of Ramona yet. it's overpriced odd pairing of Italian and western and horrible staff which the owner treats equally poorly. I hear he was sued for labor violations at the restaurant he owned before this in Pacific Beach. I don't see this place surviving much longer. read more

I am incredibly disappointed, angry, and frustrated with the staff at The Barn. We were treated with complete disrespect by our waitress and the hostess. I made a reservation for my friends and I last Thursday to eat and line dance at The Barn. As soon as we arrive, the hostess confirms we were there to eat entrees and we laughed it off because of course we were there to eat. Immediately our waitress greets us with entitlement, hostility, and clear agism because we are young adults. She makes it clear that we must individually order entrees and not appetizers in order to keep our table and avoid paying the cover fee of 5 dollars each, despite the table next to us sharing 1 meal between 3 people. After receiving our food the waitress neglected us and barely checked on our table and only filled our water once. In addition, we weren't allowed water refills after 8:00 pm. After receiving the bill there was an extra $25 charge for the cover fee that the waitress said would not be included if we ordered entrees (which we each did). I attempted to speak to the waitress to clear up the confusion but she said anyone who comes in after 8:00 (our reservation was at 7:30) has to pay the cover fee, contradicting what she said earlier. My friends and I have been loyal customers for over 2 years but as time has gone on The Barn's service has become rude and unwelcoming. Unfortunately we will no longer be attending this establishment. read more
