I had breakfast at Kountry Kitchen 826 Main St, Ramona, CA 92065 (b/t 9th St & 8th St). This is a very nice restaurant with tables and booths. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It has very nice country decor and is kept very clean, including the restrooms. I ordered the sausage (huge size slices), onion, and cheese omelette (nice and fluffy) special, with oatmeal and a biscuit & gravy. Talk about home made. They even had raisins in the oatmeal. The gravy was really good and coffee was excellent as was the service. The restaurant had quite a few customers and everything I saw on their tables that they ordered looked great. I would like to address some of their few poor reviews-almost all related to service or bad food. They seem to be legitimate however on this review, the server was polite, attentive and very kind. She could not have done a better job. The portions are huge, price is right and yes, they do have a senior menu. The patio dining is great! When visiting Ramona, CA, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this restaurant. Good parking behind the restaurant.

From the moment i walk in it felt like a welcoming vibe. The waitress was super sweet and genuine. Gave me the right amount of time to decide on what i wanted to order with out being pushy . She suggested the coutry fried potatoes over the hashbrown for my morning breakfast and definitely was the best choice . The food has amazing flavor in my opinion, so worth coming here for a great breakfast meal. I would definitely be coming back when in the area.

So went today it was just fine everybody was friendly, clean ,food fresh but my issue is with a take out.I loved the Clam chowder and I wanted to take some home order the largest one she was like it's going to 20.46 ok no worries paid and tipped because I understand how it works in a restaurant. The bag was stapled so I didn't see it but when I got home I was a lil taken back for 20 dollars i would expect it to be filled not the case .So all in all 24 dollars and this is what I got Not mad but I just felt like wow ok i know things are tough and cutbacks need to be made but if you charge 20 bucks for soup and this is how it comes I would never have ordered it .

I'm not from this area and looking at the town, my expectations were not the highest. HOWEVER!!! This beat my expectations by so much and I was glad that I was able to try this amazing tasteful restaurant. I ordered the chicken fried steak with eggs and hashbrowns, with a side of country biscuits and gravy. For the amount of food that you get with the order and how great that it tasted, I was suprised that the line wasn't out the door or flooded with people or this place had higher and lots more reviews. The service was amazing too, they were very friendly and attentive to their customers. The inside the restaurant was definitely giving country vibes. If I'm back in the area, I will be coming back each and everytime. Overall, if you read this much I think you should be trying it too!!

Metal chairs and wooden booth/bench that lines the front and side of the restaurant. Pillows are spread across the booth/bench for those needing a little back support. We were seated quickly and our waitress addressed us promptly, which is much appreciated. I ordered the nonalcoholic blackberry mojito. It took all of my might not to drink it all at once. So refreshing, not overly sweet. We ordered the Brussel sprouts appetizer, which appeared faster than we had expected. Yummy I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with the fried chicken. He ordered the burger. Fettuccine light but with excellent flavor, the fried chicken was moist and not over coated. The burger was oozing with beef juices. Although his mashed potatoes were a bit dry, the gravy was very tasty. I'd say the atmosphere is casual, but not shorts and tank casual. Definitely not business casual or dressy. The staff were all so kind and checked in on us and attended to our needs when requested. Go in and check it out for yourself, you won't regret it. It's a great place but one drawback is the inside dining seating isn't comfortable for "lazy" dining (as you don't want to sit on the seats long)

That commitment to quality and sustainability is commendable and something more restaurants should strive for. The staff is knowledgeable, and it's refreshing to see a restaurant that cares about where its food comes from. Unfortunately, that attention to ingredient sourcing seems to stop when it comes to cooking oils. Many of the menu items are prepared with soybean oil, which was disappointing given the otherwise high-quality and health-conscious image of the restaurant. Soybean oil is highly processed and contains large amounts of omega-6 polyunsaturated fats. While omega-6 fats are essential in moderation, excessive consumption relative to omega-3 intake has been associated with increased inflammation in some research. Soybean oil is also more susceptible to oxidation when exposed to high cooking temperatures, potentially producing compounds that some studies suggest may contribute to oxidative stress. In addition, many health-conscious consumers actively avoid industrial seed oils such as soybean, corn, and canola oils in favor of alternatives like olive oil, avocado oil, butter, or tallow. I would gladly give Marinade on Main a higher rating if they aligned their cooking oils with the same local, high-quality standards they apply to the rest of their ingredients. Switching to avocado oil or olive oil or beef talo would be a welcome improvement and would better match the restaurant's otherwise impressive commitment to quality. * also loose the standard strip of high fructose sodas and provide more natural optikns of drinks ...

When I asked the woman who seated us if they offered vegetarian food, she simply said she didn't know. The dining room was not busy, but there were seven tables occupied and one waitress. She didn't take our orders for 20 minutes. She never stopped to say anything, like "hi, I'll be right with you" or even one word. She never looked at us. I was finally ready to go across the street to La Cocina, which has the best Mexican food in Ramona at reasonable prices, but one of the two people I was with didn't feel like following me. When she finally came to our table, there was no smile, no apology, nothing. She didn't talk, unless she was responding to a question. Although there were vegetarian meals on the menu, the menu itself said they had another menu with vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free options. I asked for one. Apparently, the two employees there forgot it existed. The food was mediocre and not worth the high prices. Poor, unfriendly service plus expensive, over-priced food equals not returning to this restaurant. I'm actually surprised this place is still in business.

I have been here a few times now, and I always really like what I order, with one exception: I am not a fan of their biscuits. I have tried on a few occasions and they do not do it for me. Today's was really not palatable. You can tell it was overworked and not cooked properly. You could still taste raw flour. It stuck to the plate it was on; that's how poorly cooked it was. On the happy side, we had great breakfasts. I ordered something different today, their Au Gratin omelette. It tasted great, but did not taste anything like Au Gratin potatoes. I would order it again. We also had chicken-fried steak with gravy and a chorizo scramble. Both were tasty and super filling. I understand their cinnamon rolls are out of this world. Since I rarely eat sweet things, I have yet to take a bite. Hoping next time I go out with friends, someone orders one. There is outdoor seating, and the establishment is dog-friendly. So bring Fido along and enjoy a meal. *Please excuse the photo. I forgot to take one before I started eating my omelette. You can see how dry the biscuit was in the next photo.
