I LOVE Rachel's Salmon Salad--Mixed greens topped with salmon, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, goat cheese, and chopped almonds w/balsamic dressing. I could eat it everyday! Somehow I end up going to lunch frequently on Tuesday (the day she's closed) so I don't go there as often as I like. I want to try the Chicken Cobb Salad next. I think Rachel's still offers a special for a $19.99 messy burger w/beer. If that's your thing, be sure to ask about it! read more

My first time ever in Ramona. It's a cute little town. Rachel's Cafe and Eatery is one of the more modern style of cafes, so if you want something with more homely atmosphere, I think the other cafes on Main street might be better for that. The food and prices are good. Great service. I would stay far away from their tap water, but it's a simple menu. Nothing bad to say here, but it lacks character, because of the interior decoration and seating. read more

I have heard about this place and passed it many many times in the last year and finally decided to stop in last night for dinner with my son. I will be back back next week . 10/10. Food was amazing. Atmosphere was great, music wasn't too loud but enough that it wasn't silent in there. Staff was friendly and attentive and they clearly know what their doing. Now the food, the FOOD. Best wings I've had in a very long time. So fresh and fall off the bone. I will be coming back for wing Wednesday! I ordered the steak frites and my son got the kids Mac n Cheese. Steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare and the Demi glaze was delicious. His Mac n cheese was a top contender. I was shocked. So flavorful and clearly homemade. Then we get to dessert. I almost screamed when I found out one of my absolute favorite places in PB directly supplies their dessert counter. Absolutely amazing. I hope this place continues to get the attention it deserves and I will be recommending it to people in town! Thank you ladies for an amazing meal and experience read more

Came here for dinner with friends. Our server was very sweet and answered all our questions. We all ordered the special, a steak dinner our server mentioned for $20.00. She even made a trip into the kitchen to confirm it was available. It was delicious. But when we got our bill, we were charged $24.99. We asked to have our bill corrected to the amount we were quoted before ordering. Our server returned with the same incorrect bill and said "sorry, the price went up". I've never had this happen in a restaurant before and didn't want to cause a fuss so I paid it (and left a tip) but I'll never go back. Was this a bait & switch? read more

Unfortunately, this experience was disappointing. The service was slow, and the food was mediocre--everything seemed overly greasy and heavy. To make matters worse, they charge an additional fee for using a debit card. Overall, not a great experience, and I expected much better. read more

Great food, great service, great staff and unique menu which I pleasantly devoured! They do have parking off street but you'd have to get here a bit early. Otherwise there is plenty parking on the street. read more

We stopped in to Rachel's for a quick lunch on our way home from Julian. We we're quickly seated by our wonderful server. The restaurant is spacious and clean. Our food came quickly, hot and fresh. It wasn't easy to decide since their menu is diverse and Interesting. I settled on an omelette for lunch. It was filled with all the delicious ingredients and I left the restaurant with a full belly. I definitely recommend trying this. There is an ample parking in a dedicated parking lot for this restaurant. read more

I finally got in to check out one of Ramona's newest restaurants, Rachel's Cafe & Eatery. I visited twice recently and enjoyed myself both times. The vibe is modern, relaxed and welcoming. All of the staff were so nice, genuine and hospitable. I appreciate that they take reservations online and have draft beer! There's a decent selection of wines by the glass. Local Ramona wineries are well represented on the list however by bottle only. The "Cocktails" portion of the menu might be a misnomer since they're using a soju based product at 48 proof. Your mileage may vary depending on your expectations. While some may scoff at the so-called tacky pin ball and claw machines, I thought they were fun to look at and not at all distracting. Restrooms were nicely appointed, spacious, clean and thoughtfully decorated. Most recently I had the Fish and Chips ($19) which were outstanding. Cod filets were thick, meaty and succulent with an exquisite crispy batter that I loved. Fries were hot and crispy, as they should be. The side of "house made remoulade" was unremarkable and tasted mostly of mayonnaise. That recipe needs to go back to the drawing board or be made in a different house. Previously I had ordered the Chicken Tomato Pesto Tortellini ($23) which turned out to be a pretty monotonous dish and a chore to eat. Small institutional tri-colored tortellini and excessively sauced. I had higher hopes for that one. I look forward to returning soon to try one of their burgers. I saw a few come out and they looked extraordinary! Biggest bummer for me was the added 4% fee to pay with my debit card. Overall a real nice establishment, I wish them great success. read more

Went here for dinner yesterday. Got the fried chicken salad, basic, 2/5 at best. Nothing special. Chicken tasted like it may have been frozen and had a taste as if the oil that it was fried in was old. Tried my boyfriend's messy burger and it was very good. We ate outside and it was nice. The hostess was incredibly sweet and the waitress was as well. Excellent customer service. read more

Food is pretty good, a little over salted. Would some more entree options. Staff is very nice & attentive and they offer some pretty decent deals throughout the week. Nice place outside & inside and always clean. Beer & burger deal should have option of craft brews for a dollar or two more. Overall solid option for Ramona, which doesn't have great food options. read more

A fantastic new restaurant opened up in downtown Ramona. Right on Main Street . We had the pleasure of enjoying their food . Friendly service friendly , in a casual setting. Prices are reasonable, and parking in the back. Everything is made there. It is locally farmed fresh . read more

We went to Rachel's for the first time on Friday and it did not disappoint. The server was very sweet and the tacos and dip sandwich were amazing! Thevtwisted lemonade with exploding pearls was delightful. Can't wait to go back and try more things from the menu. read more

The building was very clean modern design and the servers did a good job but the only good thing I can say about the food is the dirty sodas are a nice option otherwise less than desired :( read more

The beef omelette was surprisingly and unexpectedly good. The host (serene?) was nice and warm, checked back and asked for feedback. The halloween decor was so much fun. While we were waiting on orders, we checked them out. To get five star, you need to get your coffee game elevated. Not talking espresso yet, but at least good filtered coffee. The one we had tasted like black water. read more

The drink was delicious. The soup was pretty good! The atmosphere is very cute but loud. They need to add some soft things like pillows or macrame on the walls. It just reverberates with noise when it gets full. Our server was great although she did say the numbers wrong in our final bill so I thought it was $43 for two bowls of soup and a drink instead of $34. She did automatically include a 20% tip. Even for a party of two. That's fine with me because that's what I normally tip but I was surprised. Just a good thing to know--tips are automatic and they're 20%. Anyhow it's a great addition to Ramona and I recommend it. Just know it's a busy, loud vibe. read more

As huge fans of the owner's previous restaurant, we were truly hoping our second visit here would be the charm. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment. We arrived at slightly before 5 PM on a Saturday to an empty restaurant, and the meal that followed explained why. While beautifully presented, the food was surprisingly basic for how much ingredients each dish has and lacked flavor. Ground chicken shouldnt be used in a restaurant... there's no way to make it look or taste good. My gnocchi was inedibly salty, and my husband's burger left him with an upset stomach for the rest of the night. He's never one to complain, but he was incredibly let down with everything we ordered. We have immense respect for the owner and know the potential is there as we were huge fans of the food at her last location. We're writing this not to be harsh, but in the sincere hope that adjustments can be made. In a time when dining out is a luxury, the food has to deliver. We are rooting for them to turn things around. read more

Food was absolutely amazing at Rachel's cafe, best staff service I've had in Ramona, food was seasoned to perfection and very unique flavor. One of the best 2 meals I've tasted in a long time. I recommend the Cajun shrimp pasta and the honey chicken Mac and cheese. I definitely will be coming back and referring anyone to go here for a great meal and awesome staff. 1000/10 read more

First (and last) Time Our visit was around 1:00 pm yesterday. It was my first time at this restaurant. Our party of three was seated but not greeted. When I asked the woman who seated us if they offered vegetarian food, she simply said she didn't know. The dining room was not busy, but there were seven tables occupied and one waitress. She didn't take our orders for 20 minutes. She never stopped to say anything, like "hi, I'll be right with you" or even one word. She never looked at us. I was finally ready to go across the street to La Cocina, which has the best Mexican food in Ramona at reasonable prices, but one of the two people I was with didn't feel like following me. When she finally came to our table, there was no smile, no apology, nothing. She didn't talk, unless she was responding to a question. Although there were vegetarian meals on the menu, the menu itself said they had another menu with vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free options. I asked for one. Apparently, the two employees there forgot it existed. The food was mediocre and not worth the high prices. Poor, unfriendly service plus expensive, over-priced food equals not returning to this restaurant. I'm actually surprised this place is still in business. read more

We had heard this place had a couple of mixed reviews so we decided to come check it out for my Mom's birthday. The restaurant is cute in a farm chic style with a bakery case near the entrance. The hostess greeted us and led us to our table in the back of the restaurant and handed out our menus while we waited for our server. After 10 minutes my husband went to find someone to help us. Jess, our server, came right after that and apologized for the inconvenience. We ordered our food and also explained we were there celebrating a birthday. Jess said she'd check with Rachel and see what was available. We ordered Brussels sprouts for our appetizer, mom ordered the club sandwich with fries, hubs and I shared the Cobb salad with blue cheese. The Brussels sprouts were delicious, a little bit sweet and savory at the same time due to the pomegranate arils and shaved Parmesan cheese, roasted to perfection. Mom's sandwich looked good and she said it was very tasty as well as the fries, she ate it all! The Cobb salad was good, chicken was cooked perfectly and still warm as we ate it, also had eggs, avocado slices, bacon, tomatoes, blue cheese. The only ingredient missing (for me) was onions but it wasn't a deal breaker. The dressing was on the thin side and no blue cheese crumbles, average. I also ordered a brown sugar Boba, very good tea to flavoring ratio with a good amount of boba in it. Jess brought us our bill and hubby asked her about the birthday treat for my mother and we were told that the tartlets weren't available and if she liked she could have a scoop of ice cream instead. My mom politely declined and we left. Will we be back? Maybe after more of the kinks are worked out. read more

The service is excellent! However the food is not all that great. Especially for the price! We will gladly pay for good food but this was lacking in many ways. We won't be coming back unfortunately read more

Lots of outdoor seating; dog-friendly but no water bowls on their patios. Nice selection of alcoholic beverages, including local wines. Had the watermelon spritzer & Cobb salad. Interesting that they had take-out containers but NO disposable serviceware, really??? Service was OK & a server who was leaving stopped to be sure somebody had waited on us. Will return (w/o a dog) to check out the inside. read more

Made a reservation for a party of 5 at 11:30 a.m. for Mother's Day. The hostess was lovely and cleaned our table and seated us right away. This is where everything goes downhill. Our server was nice enough, but it took her quite a while to greet us. Even longer to take our order. In fact, when she asked to get our drink order we had already been sitting for so long we asked her to please just take our food order as well. She brought our drinks out, which was nice, but then we sat for an hour waiting for our food. We had all finished our drinks and she never came to ask if we would like refills. We lined our glasses up at the edge of our table hoping she would take the hint as she walked past us time and time again. Nope. We finally had to flag her down and ask for refills. We were all grouchy and starving. After an hour, 4/5th of our food came out and it was all cold. We were too hungry to send it back and wait another hour for hot food. The only entree that was even warm was my son's burger that came out 10 minutes after everything else. I get that it was Mother's Day, and that this place was going to be busier than usual. This is when additional staff should be scheduled so you don't make your diner's Mother's Day celebrations fall completely flat. So very disappointing. read more

I recently ordered takeout from Rachel's in Ramona and had their Messy Burger. The burger was delicious, juicy, and packed with flavor. Even as takeout, everything was prepared well and tasted fresh when I got home. The portion size was generous, and the ingredients were high quality. The ordering process was easy, and my food was ready on time. I'll definitely be back to try more items from the menu. Highly recommend the Messy Burger if you're looking for a great burger in Ramona! read more

I was visiting from out of town and went to Rachel's because another restaurant had water pressure issues and had to close early. What a stroke of luck that was! I'm very picky about what I eat and how it's prepared. Rachel's was so accommodating and presented my meal beautifully. We never waited long, we were attended to, and they even brought out more heaters , because we asked to sit outside, and there was a bit of chill. Each plate is prepared deliciously and beautifully. No complaints here! I went back multiple times to meet up with friends. It's a wonderful place with excellent service, good people , and great food. read more

We really loved this place. Honestly seeing some of the negative reviews are now shocking to me. I really feel their service was exceptional and had I addressed any problem they would have fixed it. But dinner was excellent, and very quick. There was a good size crown, and the servers did an awesome job checking in and refilling our drinks the place is very clean and nice. Would definitely recommend as one of the nicer places to try in Ramona read more

Delicious. Also a great spot for date night. We ordered the pasta and Anthony's burger. Worth it!

Stopped at my favorite restaurant in Ramona on 1/25/26, it was about 3:15pm and I just wanted to order a late lunch with a friend they make great vegan option burger. It was busy and we were patient no big deal, but the waitress acted like she hated us from the second we walked up, letting us know she is all by herself (we didn't ask) and anything you requested of her was met with unfriendliness. I didn't understand it we had no demands, no ill will, it seemed she was friendly with every other customer but us. I asked for water my my little dog and was met with more personal issues by her. She never once said hi, have a nice day, smiled, come again. It made me sad because I usually go every Sunday to Rachel's to eat after I hike in the local mountains. I had never seen this waitress before and I hope I never do again. read more

Rachel's is a great place to sit and have a great meal. We went with a larger group, 4 adults and 2 kids, and the service was prompt, polite and quick. My wife had the gnocchi and it was amazing, the sauce was define and the dumplings were perfect. Even the kiddos loved their burgers and fries. read more

Service was decent and ambience was nice. Good selection of items for lunch. My friend got the salmon salad which looked great. I got the roast beef dip sandwich which was not good. What I got was a 1/4" slab of beef between two pieces of bread with some onions and cheese. Meat was chewy and unappetizing. I asked for a side salad instead of fries, I got the fries. After a short while the server brought the salad dressing but still no salad. I ended up having to ask for it. Not impressed. Won't be back. read more
