Yum! When I first heard bbq burrito I wasn't sold. Located inside a liquor store in Ramona. My friend loves this place so much that he used their catering for his wedding. I mean tenders juicy bbq meat with sauce and fries inside a burrito is genius. I was very satisfied with this huge meal for $16. This is a must visit.

    Tri-Tip plate.

Amazing food (and I'm not a huge bbq fan). Fresh, tasty and homemade! We had tri-tip, potato salad and coleslaw with cornbread. All was awesome. Today we returned for ribs and chicken with the same sides. Great staff and cooks , all super nice and friendly. Basic chairs and tables but clean and comfortable with 3 large screen with car racing, baseball and local sports. Most highly recommended ‍

Was craving for BBQ Brisket saw this with a 4.3 star review, so we decided to give it a try. We ordered the 1/3 brisket plate with 2 sides and dinner rolls. It was so so and has no taste of the smoking flavor from a professional BBQ restaurant. The restaurant is inside of the Ramona Liquor store. The seating section was nice.

this place literally made my jaw drop. I had to pick it up off the floor because of how good the barbecue is here I've traveled across the country and this is probably the closest barbecue I've had in San Diego that hits the same as when I was on the road. I got the brisket and it is so moist and flavorful. Don't even get me started on the beans they have a spicy cake to them and they're absolutely delicious. I love how they put their sandwiches on a brioche bun as well. The service is super fast and the dude's working are always the most cool people ever. I've gone here three times already and I can't wait to come back. The ambience is honestly so interesting. You would not expect a place that's gonna have this type of barbecue in a liquor store I had no idea this place was even here until I smelled a heavenly aroma at the back of the liquor store. You guys are definitely doing barbecue the right way and i'm looking forward to coming back highly recommend it to everybody and for my San Diego foodies this place is actually a hidden gem.

The food is good I have never had anything that wasn't good. It's what you would expect. The service has been exceptional. If you are wanting to "dine in" just know it's inside a liquor store, so for a quick bite and go it's perfect but if you're lucky you'll looking to dine with friends and family not so much. I think it would be better in a stand alone location, but understand it's been doing well where it is for quite a while so it's working and can't knock something that works well. People go for the service and the food not to dining location! Ambiance is what you expect in a liquor store with a BBQ joint added.

I was out in Ramona for my kid's scrimmage and he was hungry and we stopped at a local Spot that is in a liquor store and the food was amazing and the guys working there couldn't have been nicer. The BBQ was really good and the onion rings were off the charts delicious. I would make the drive to eat here again.

    BBQ Ribs

If you're a BBQ lover, this place is a must-visit. From the moment you step in, the smoky aroma wraps around you like a warm Southern welcome. I ordered the brisket, ribs, and pulled pork combo -- and every single bite was packed with flavor, juicy beyond belief, and tender enough to fall apart with just a fork. The brisket had that perfect smoke ring and a bark that was rich and caramelized. The ribs? Moist, meaty, and came right off the bone without being mushy. And the pulled pork was so succulent, it melted in my mouth. Don't even get me started on the house-made sauces -- sweet, tangy, and just enough heat to keep things interesting. Sides were no afterthought either. The mac & cheese was creamy and decadent, and the cornbread had just the right balance of crumbly and moist. Service was friendly and fast very attentive. In short, this BBQ joint delivered the kind of meal that lingers in your memory -- and your cravings. I'll definitely be back. Five stars without hesitation.

Been meaning to try for a while. Yes, it's in the back of a liquor store, but there is a decent seating area and bathroom. The bathroom is critical to get the mess off your hands once you're done. I'm giving this place an extra star for its innovative menu. I'm pretty sure you might not ever find a place that lets you get your BBQ on fries, in a burrito...or a salad! The $14 Pulled Pork Sandwich and craft beer combo has to be the best deal. About 6 beers to choose from. The sandwich is large and the pork is lean. It has coleslaw on it, which I like, and it comes with sauce on it. Somehow those last two elements make the whole thing too wet and messy for me. It was dripping everywhere, which isn't normal to me. They might only have one sauce and it was a little too sweet and not spicy enough for me. Fortunately, I was able to fix it at the table with Valentina sauce. I recommend ordering it with sauce on the side and asking if there's a spicy version. If you're a weirdo who DOESN'T want a beer with their BBQ, the second best deal is probably the $11.99 Pulled Pork Plate. For just $2 more than the $9.99 a la carte sandwich, you get two dinner rolls and two sides, some of which can normally cost $4 each. $2.99 Baked Beans were too sweet, pretty basic and disappointing. $15.99 Brisket Burrito seemed innovative and plenty of money. It was quite big, kind of like a Cali, but it had too much cheese, was heavy and ultimately a bit disappointing. It took my son two meals to finish it.

Metal chairs and wooden booth/bench that lines the front and side of the restaurant. Pillows are spread across the booth/bench for those needing a little back support. So refreshing, not overly sweet. We ordered the Brussel sprouts appetizer, which appeared faster than we had expected. Yummy I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with the fried chicken. He ordered the burger. Fettuccine light but with excellent flavor, the fried chicken was moist and not over coated. The burger was oozing with beef juices. That commitment to quality and sustainability is commendable and something more restaurants should strive for. The staff is knowledgeable, and it's refreshing to see a restaurant that cares about where its food comes from. Unfortunately, that attention to ingredient sourcing seems to stop when it comes to cooking oils. Many of the menu items are prepared with soybean oil, which was disappointing given the otherwise high-quality and health-conscious image of the restaurant. Soybean oil is highly processed and contains large amounts of omega-6 polyunsaturated fats. While omega-6 fats are essential in moderation, excessive consumption relative to omega-3 intake has been associated with increased inflammation in some research. Soybean oil is also more susceptible to oxidation when exposed to high cooking temperatures, potentially producing compounds that some studies suggest may contribute to oxidative stress. In addition, many health-conscious consumers actively avoid industrial seed oils such as soybean, corn, and canola oils in favor of alternatives like olive oil, avocado oil, butter, or tallow. I would gladly give Marinade on Main a higher rating if they aligned their cooking oils with the same local, high-quality standards they apply to the rest of their ingredients. Switching to avocado oil or olive oil or beef talo would be a welcome improvement and would better match the restaurant's otherwise impressive commitment to quality. * also loose the standard strip of high fructose sodas and provide more natural optikns of drinks ...

She didn't take our orders for 20 minutes. She never stopped to say anything, like "hi, I'll be right with you" or even one word. She never looked at us. I was finally ready to go across the street to La Cocina, which has the best Mexican food in Ramona at reasonable prices, but one of the two people I was with didn't feel like following me. When she finally came to our table, there was no smile, no apology, nothing. She didn't talk, unless she was responding to a question. Although there were vegetarian meals on the menu, the menu itself said they had another menu with vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free options. I asked for one. Apparently, the two employees there forgot it existed. The food was mediocre and not worth the high prices. Poor, unfriendly service plus expensive, over-priced food equals not returning to this restaurant. I'm actually surprised this place is still in business.

I even brought friends who had never been here before, thinking it could become one of our regular stops when we're out hitting the trails. Instead, it left a bad taste in everyone's mouth... and not just from the food. Waitress: Where do I even start. She claimed she was hard of hearing--but her attitude spoke loud and clear. Tossing menus on the table, aggressively slamming salsa down, and getting snarky over being off because our party count was off by one person. Seriously? It took two seconds to adjust the table, but apparently that was just too much. Yes, she technically did her job... but with such a cold, unwelcoming, and rigid attitude that it made the whole experience uncomfortable. What really stood out? We were there first and ready to order, yet she chose to take care of every smaller table that came in after us. No communication, no "I'll be right with you," nothing. Just ignored. Basic courtesy clearly isn't part of the service here. And trust me--I used to be a waitress. I handled large parties all the time and actually communicated with my tables. It's not that hard. Honestly, if gratuity hadn't already been forced onto the bill, she would've gotten $0. The only pleasant person we encountered was the busser--quick, friendly, and actually seemed like he wanted to be there. Maybe swap their roles, because he outperformed her by a mile. Food: Let's talk about the food... if that's what we're calling it. Everything came out cold. Not "warm-ish," not "could be hotter"... just straight up cold. It felt like our plates were sitting under a heat lamp for way too long before making it to the table. One "white" friend asked to have her meal fixed--fine, no problem. But when another "Hispanic" friend asked the same thing? Suddenly there was attitude, menu slamming, and mumbling under her breath. So... what exactly was the difference? Why the inconsistency and hostility? If the kitchen is that backed up, maybe management should step in and help instead of letting food die in the window. Just a thought. Final Thoughts: This place had potential... but that waitress single-handedly ruined it. We'll be taking our group (and our money) elsewhere--Dudley's Bakery is looking like a much better option moving forward. I usually bring large groups out here, so this isn't a small loss. Unfortunately, if this is the level of service they're okay with, this place isn't going to improve anytime soon. At this point, it's less "Farmhouse charm" and more "junky barn energy."

I had heard great things about this place, which makes it even more disappointing. The only positive was the quaint country ambiance, including a nice old mural on the wall. Service was a bit slow, but it was a busy Sunday morning, so that's understandable and not part of my rating. The food, however, was inedible. I should note here that I came in quite hungry and with a specific hankering for a greasy chicken fried steak and eggs, so I was in a very easy to please state. I ordered the eggs "over medium," and the eggs came out with raw, runny whites and were also cold. The toast didn't arrive until 5-10 minutes later, so everything just sat there getting colder. The "steak" was mostly fat and gristle. The first couple of bites I ate were gristly but doable with help from the gravy - but the third bite was a giant glob of gristly fat that I couldn't even chew - i spit it out and that's all I ate. The hash browns tasted like frozen unseasoned potatoes with only a patch of sear on the outside while the bulk of it was mushy and pasty and gross. Of the whole meal I basically only ate my toast plus a bite or two of each thing on my plate. I left feeling sick to my stomach. After dropping off the food (and later the delayed toast), our server never checked back. No refills, no follow-up. When she finally returned, she asked to clear my very full, barely touched plate without any acknowledgment. I had to volunteer that the food was inedible. The response was dismissive and rushed, with no effort to understand the issue or make it right. An offhand "sorry about that" was offered while walking away, followed shortly by the $60 bill. The complete lack of accountability and concern was frankly abhorrent. This was one of the worst dining experiences I've had, and I won't be back. I would have left hungry except that I was queasy from the gristle and paste.
