I stopped in for some coffee to get my day started, and was not disappointed! The coffee was really good! I got a cinnamon brown sugar iced coffee. But honestly there were so many options to choose from and they all sound good! Very cute spot, lots of locals were there and you could tell they frequent here because of how they interacted with the staff, who are all very sweet. Will definitely stop by again next time I'm in the area!

    Spiced Pumpkin Chai

I stopped by to get a seasonal drink to get into the Autumn Spirit. There were a ton of October Specials, but we picked the Spiced Pumpkin Chai. It was a little expensive for a local coffee shop, but it was delicious! Very cute spot, but most of the tables had crumbs on them. However, the worker was very quick to ask if we wanted our table cleaned. It seemed like a very popular spot for locals!

I got Golden turmeric + honey oat latte, and my boyfriend cold lavander wildflower latte, both were just perfect, not too sweet. It was the first time that we went and fpr sure we are going back to try another ones.

AS ALWAYS....I LOOOOOOOVE THIS PLACE!!! Tried the cereal milk chai, I know, cereal milk...yes please. Sounds sweet but it was quite delicious!!! Also, I had the veggie bagel, which is not something I would typically order but the gals insisted I try something new. It was very good! I love coming here and seeing everyone's happy smiling face!! Rise and Shine feels so much more cozy and friendly than other coffee places!! No comparison!!!

    LAVENDER PISTACHIO ICED MATCHA

Cutest and thoughtful set up and decor! The girlies working were so sweet and made such yummy drinks! So fun and happy and perfect hangout spot! Can't wait to go again soon!!!!

They were sitting right next to the Julian pies and it kinda looked like a fight, like a battle of the mountain bakeries kind of fight. Needless to say, I grabbed both because everyone immediately glorifies the Julian pie so by including the Ramona pie, my objective was to introduce some low risk novelty for my Christmas get-together. I didn't have high hopes for Ramona's blueberry because I was suspicious of the huge bready looking crust roll in combination with the sticker on the front boasting "no seed oils". I'm not fluent in baking alchemy. I was raised on Costco pie (bleh). So, I thought this was going to be dry and overly sweet but much to my whole family's surprise, Ramona was the winner! My takeaway: Do not discriminate the chubby crust roll! Take it from me because I'm a savage that eats a pie right out of the fridge. The crust is like a shortbread cookie. It's almost on the Italian pastry spectrum. Very delicious. Very coffee friendly. The blueberry filling was also perfectly balanced. It wasn't too sweet and even with the crumble topping, I felt like I could eat it with yogurt in the morning and trick myself into calling it a wholesome breakfast. Now, I'm going to say this with a huge shield up... but it knocked the Julian apple pie way off the shelf for me.

The latte was actually really good, but the overall experience was average. There was a huge line when I arrived, and only one person was handling everything including taking orders, making drinks, and preparing food. She was clearly working incredibly hard, but it was just too much for one person to manage during a busy rush, so the wait ended up being pretty long. I honestly felt bad for her. I really think this place would benefit from having at least two people working during peak hours because the café itself is actually pretty cute. They have lots of games inside, limited indoor seating, and a large covered outdoor seating area as well.

This small kiosk style coffee shop seems to change hands every few years. Since they're in my neighborhood, I like to support them. I was greeted warmly but had to wait a few minutes to order. That's ok, there was only one person working at the time and I was in no hurry. I decided on a Jalapeno Cheese Bagel, toasted with cream cheese "for here". I noticed their small selection of bagels were just sitting out in the open air, not covered up or in any sort of container. After a few minutes I was handed the bagel in a small bag, despite ordering in. I took a seat at one of their small patio tables. The bagel was very tasty with a pretty conservative spread of cream cheese. Not sure where they source their bagels from, but it had a nice chew and flavor, unfortunately not enough jalapeno. The outside seating area seemed rather unkempt. Several of the tables had ponding water pooled on the surface; some chairs as well. It was 10:00 am and they had been open for several hours but apparently don't take much care in maintaining the "gathering" area.

Last time I went the girl told me I'd have a $5 reward on my next visit. This time it wasn't offered or mentioned. And it was $20 for two small yogurts that melted within minutes. So we went back paid for a new yogurt with the toppings we wanted and the girl was even more rude aggresively shoved the spoons in the yogurt and had an irritated face. I could understand being rude if you were putting forth effort and working for your money and didn't receive a tip. Metal chairs and wooden booth/bench that lines the front and side of the restaurant. Pillows are spread across the booth/bench for those needing a little back support. We were seated quickly and our waitress addressed us promptly, which is much appreciated. I ordered the nonalcoholic blackberry mojito. It took all of my might not to drink it all at once. So refreshing, not overly sweet. We ordered the Brussel sprouts appetizer, which appeared faster than we had expected. Yummy I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with the fried chicken. He ordered the burger. Fettuccine light but with excellent flavor, the fried chicken was moist and not over coated. The burger was oozing with beef juices. Although his mashed potatoes were a bit dry, the gravy was very tasty. I'd say the atmosphere is casual, but not shorts and tank casual. Definitely not business casual or dressy. The staff were all so kind and checked in on us and attended to our needs when requested. Go in and check it out for yourself, you won't regret it. That commitment to quality and sustainability is commendable and something more restaurants should strive for. The staff is knowledgeable, and it's refreshing to see a restaurant that cares about where its food comes from. Unfortunately, that attention to ingredient sourcing seems to stop when it comes to cooking oils. Many of the menu items are prepared with soybean oil, which was disappointing given the otherwise high-quality and health-conscious image of the restaurant. Soybean oil is highly processed and contains large amounts of omega-6 polyunsaturated fats. While omega-6 fats are essential in moderation, excessive consumption relative to omega-3 intake has been associated with increased inflammation in some research. Soybean oil is also more susceptible to oxidation when exposed to high cooking temperatures, potentially producing compounds that some studies suggest may contribute to oxidative stress. In addition, many health-conscious consumers actively avoid industrial seed oils such as soybean, corn, and canola oils in favor of alternatives like olive oil, avocado oil, butter, or tallow. I would gladly give Marinade on Main a higher rating if they aligned their cooking oils with the same local, high-quality standards they apply to the rest of their ingredients. Switching to avocado oil or olive oil or beef talo would be a welcome improvement and would better match the restaurant's otherwise impressive commitment to quality. * also loose the standard strip of high fructose sodas and provide more natural optikns of drinks ...
