The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, the staff was super friendly, and the food was delicious. Everything came out fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. After a long day of sipping wine, this was exactly what we needed-good food, great service, and the perfect spot to relax and catch up. Situated at San Vicente Golf Resort, I first discovered this place after a hike, and my friends and I have been visiting ever since when we're hiking in the area or want to play a round of golf at the resort. This is my third time dining at The Oaks Grille, and their Avocado Toast has definitely earned its spot on my must-have list! Food: 5/5 - I ordered my usual Avocado Toast. They top smashed avocado with fresh sprouts and pickled onions. I love pickled onions! I highly recommend their Avo Toast. This time, I had it with fruit on the side. Their potatoes and fruit are both tasty options. Beverages: 4/5 - I had their black coffee, and it was good. They don't have lattes on the menu, but they do provide non-dairy creamers. Customer Service: 4/5 - The food arrived quickly, although our waitress forgot my friend's order of bacon. She was sweet enough to offer a complimentary one to make up for it. Ambiance: 5/5 - Plenty of seating, very clean, and you get a great view of the golf course through the large restaurant windows. We arrived on a Saturday morning and didn't have to wait for a table. My wife had the smashburger with delightful sweet potato fries and I had the chicken Marsala with mashed potatoes and asparagus...oh baby...so so good. The view, the ambiance, the array of food choices and the service are all worthy of praise and mention. We highly recommend and will certainly be back. After showing up in a uber and a good night i couldnt get a uber back asked staff for help to get back into town and they said they cant help and i have to get off property cause there closing sbd goodluck. I asked what will happen if i sit here and try to figure out if someone is going in to town and can help. They told me cops will be called and i will not be aloud back. Ordered a pie for the first time in a year or two. I ordered the giardona. The good is it had a great crunch. The pie lacks flavor and the toppings are scarce and not evenly distributed. We're staying at the San Vicente resort and enjoying the breakfast at the Oaks Grille. The restaurant is big and has a nice view of the golf course. Food is delicious. Early Riser deals are awesome! Service is wonderful. I highly recommend this place. We haven't tried lunch or dinner yet but assuming it would be just as great. The restaurant has been touched up with new paint and flooring. I love pasta and seafood, and last Saturday I went to have dinner with my friend and it was a cold night. I was craving something warm and tasty. The restaurant had been following the restrictions COVID-19 and so we sat outside. I was looking forward to enjoying the food that was well recommended. The waitress was kind and hardworking. She wasn't even wearing a jacket despite the cold. She was super helpful and brought the food out fast. At first, I ordered a Pinot Noir wine and they didn't have it available so the waitress recommended another Pinot Noir that was super tasty and matched with my dish. For appetizer we ordered chicken and cheese quesadilla, accompanied with 3 sauces, it was so good. For the main course I ordered fettuccine alfredo and side brussels sprouts but I think there was a mistake in the kitchen because I didn't receive the correct pasta, however what they brought me was unbelievable. It was better than what I originally wanted. So, in the end it was a happy mistake. The pasta was cooked just right, the sauce was super tasty, the shrimp was soft and delightful. My friend chose chicken, asparagus and french fries and of course as I love them I ate some. They were crispy and tasted like they weren't cooked in oil. Regardless of the cold, I loved the experience, the food and the workers were very friendly. Everything was really good, a beautiful view of the mountains except for the heater on our table that wasn't working, making us a little uncomfortable due to the cold. We had breakfast at the Oaks Grille. The food was quite good and the service was good too. That said, had we known better, we would've waited until 9:00 am and had breakfast in the Par Lounge as it features the same menu, but no children. Becky wanted a Bloody Mary, but the bar wasn't open yet so she had to go downstairs to the snack bar for an inferior, and more expensive Bloody Mary (she had a good one later at Par Lounge). The breakfasts rolling out of the kitchen at The Oaks Grille were delicious. *Two Egg Breakfast: Becky chose eggs scrambled well with sausage, country fried potatoes and sourdough toast. She thought it was great. It was a large portion with a pile of country fries, two fat sausage links and a stack of toast. I had one of her sausage links and some toast and thought they were both excellent. There's just something about restaurant toast... *Eggs Benedict: Two eggs perfectly poached sitting atop Canadian bacon and two crispy English muffins. The muffins were sturdy enough that they didn't become a gross soggy mess. The hollandaise sauce was rich and creamy. I chose the country potatoes as my side and they were delicious, although I did ask for some real salsa to spice them up a bit. The only hot sauce on the table was Tabasco. The fresh salsa was good, it could've been spicier for my taste, but the flavor was there. Good breakfast. read more

The servers are nice enough but the wait is ridiculous and this place is terribly noisy. The last two meals were not all that enjoyable because it was so noisy that my head was about to split. Last night we waited for 15 minutes for our order to be taken and it was another 45 minutes before our food came out. There was a large group in the bar so it seemed like that threw them off, but it always seems like something throws them off - a large group in the bar, a table of 16 in the restaurant, an event in the banquet room. I really want to like this place but the noise and the apparent complete lack of a clue exhibited by the management of this restaurant makes it impossible. If they could ever get their act together and also quiet the place down a bit it could be great. read more

JOY IS HORRIBLE! worst waitress we have ever had. We came with a party 6 plus 2 kids. We asked for a sling to put our car seat on for the baby and gave us complete attitude saying she didn't know what that was and kept rolling her eyes. Next our son took 2 rocks out of the little glass bowl on the table table he was holding and wanted to know what kind they were and she comes up and goes " um hello those are clearly supposed to stay in the bowl for a reason" and wouldn't leave us alone until he did. We were also with an elderly couple and she asked if he wanted more coffee but he didn't hear her to which she rolled her eyes and said did you not here me I said do you want more!!? Several over things happened so it wasn't just our well behaved children she was rude to it was everyone! Completely ruined our morning. This is one of the best kept secrets in Southern California. Awesome location, patio with views of the golf course but best of all is the food at extremely reasonable prices. We moved to Ramona a few months ago and have been hooked on this food ever since. The sweet potato hummus, the pizza and the burgers are fantastic. Another gem is the market fish entree. They got rid of the best thing they cooked before (prime rib). We had to leave after being seated and ignored for 30'. I could've let it slide if I at least had a beer. The bread and water won't cut it. If you live in town, I admit there aren't many choices but the new BBQ in the Mainstage is great, if you live in the estates... Hit Stater's and cook at home. Then there are two that are both at the front desk, Maxime and Madison? Something close to that. If someone had just simply came over and said anything along the lines of "We will be right with you" or "I'm sorry for the wait, someone will be with you in a moment." My family and I would have stayed. I have a feeling management wasn't on the floor at this time. Finally, a pasta arrived. Woohoo. Now we were cooking. Problem was, no pizza. Our pizza was "sent to the wrong table." We were asked if we wanted to wait for them to make another one and told by our server, Maxine, that it would be discounted. My son finished his pasta and we sat and sat and sat with empty waters and still no pizza in sight. Mind you, two people at the table still hadn't eaten a thing. We watched people come and go while waiting for that darn pizza. Finally, Maxine arrived and offered to buy my husband another beer, he took her up on the offer. Yet, we still waited for the pizza. If finally came out at 7:50. By this time, we had played 25 games of hangman and sucked on our ice since we had no water. We decided we wanted to leave and Maxine brought our bill. No discount on the pizza, just a comped beer. Now, I'm not usually one to complain and I pay for my food, but don't tell me you're going to discount it and then not honor your word. I mentioned it to Maxine, just as a courtesy. I felt like she needed to know that she told me something but didn't follow through. I didn't like that and was bummed because I felt like we were just thrown in the corner and not one person cared about our experience. She took my bill and discounted it some more.....although I didn't take the cash. She actually ended up with a nice tip since the discount went to her. For breakfast I've been having their hash-browns with avocado and salsa and their salsa is amazing and the three things combined = flavor explosion and is absolutely delicious I highly recommend you try it!!! The coffee here is perfect and they are sure to keep it flowing. My husband has tried several items from their menu and had not been disappointed! I have to say first that the food is actually very good and has a great price. The star rating is solely based on the service. We are staying at the lodge and both mornings have came here for breakfast. Joy was our server both mornings and it was almost as if she couldn't be bothered to actually wait on us. I was hoping day one was a fluke but day two proved it wasn't. We sat at our table waiting for our server to take our order for over 10 minutes. Once our food was delivered, not once did our server ask if we were enjoying it or if we needed anything. She wasn't even on the floor most of the time so we could not call her over if we needed something. The bus boy pouring coffee was more attentive than our server. I'm very disappointed by the service we received and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

The food is over-priced for what it is, but then again where isn't? The only thing incredibly bothersome is the macaroni and cheese is Kraft, microwaved for that gourmet taste of real home cooking. :-P I do not think microwaves should be used in restaurants... It is still a decent place to eat! The decor is trying and failing to copy Applebees (literally. They said that as they were decorating), but I kind of like how the random crap on the walls is mirroring Ramona. There are Ramona cheer uniforms pinned to the walls and the sports teams from my high school. It is a fun family restaurant and has an excellent view of the golf course. The Chocolate Seduction Cake is the best dessert there. Hopefully you get a server who does the fancy things with the whipped cream and decorates the plate with the chocolate syrup like I used to. It always makes the visit THAT much better. And once you are done eating, you can head over the the Par Lounge and have some drinkables with the locals! read more
