July 17 2026. In Ramona California at way point (Molleys) stopped in to watch some bands i know . One is warpath. Been here a few times . Always have a good time. Bob and the staff are always professional and polite welcome you and treat you like family . I do not drink Alcohol. But they still treat me right. Been coming in on and off since 2017. Highly recommend them. They serve food great hamburgers and stuff peppers. Great service. Have a dance floor so can dances. If you get a chance should come check them out. I be back again. Completely kicking myself for not taking photos of my amazing Mountain Man burger! I mean, I have photos from a different day. But my most recent burger was just too perfect. The most delightful part about the Mountain Man is the ooie gooie cream cheese warmed up between two grilled pieces of cheddar. Who ever came up with that, THANK YOU! This place is a true dive. Found this spot to have a drink after checking in to our hotel for the night. Friendly service, strong drinks, great smoking patio and live music on the Friday night we were there. What a nice surprise. We had the fried pickles and crazy bacon jalapeno poppers - both were delicious. Ordered the pastrami to go and mowed down on it in the hotel room. I remember it was salty like pastrami should be but a little sweet with the stone ground honey mustard on the sandwich. I remember there being a lot of meat. I'm pretty sure my husband and I enjoyed it.....did I mention the drinks were strong? LOL Fun place to hang out. Seemed pretty reasonably priced until we got our bill - YIKES. It wasn't busy when we went but it had a good atmosphere. There's a jukebox (TouchTunes), a decent beer selection, and they make a good Bloody Mary. It was pretty clean for a bar and the stage setup looked nice - we look forward to going back to see live music at some point! read more

What a great dive bar! People always get a little iffy about the dives in Ramona thinking they'll be on the rough side but this is a super spot. Staff is nice, drinks are well poured, and it's a lot of fun! Went for karaoke night and while I can't sing to save my life there were some really great people we got to watch. This place (conjoined with Up the Hill Grill) remains consistently in the top two burger spots of Ramona. One of my favorite things to order here is the Maple Bourbon Bacon Burger. Half pound patty with melted smoked cheddar, crumbled bacon, finished with a maple brown sugar glaze and flamed aged bourbon, topped with "frazzled" red onion and jalapeño. It was the perfect blend of sweet & spicy. Some bites even had a great candied texture. I've never tasted anything like it. A very unique and original burger creation. Way Point Saloon also has the most impressive onion ring tower I've encountered! What stands out for me is how hot & crispy they come out of the kitchen coupled with an outstanding fry sauce. The rings here are beer battered and definitely in the top two of Ramona when it comes to onion rings. 23 draft beers on tap is a pretty good draw too! Visited 1/25/2018 What a great Happy Hour. All appetizers are half price for happy hour. Crazy bacon stuffed jalapeños poppers are amazing. That Korean chicken wings are also extremely tasty. This place has a full well-stocked bar and Marisa the bartender was fabulous and very friendly. The beer was frosty cold and the appetizers were a great deal at 1/2 price. We stopped here on the way to a camping trip, as we were looking for a spot to watch a football game. First of all, it is so fun inside! Great pool tables, fun lights, a stage...think upscale dive bar! We had amazing service, and the bartender even took the time to help us find the channel with our game so that we could watch. She was attentive, kind, and engaging. There was a great variety of beer on tap, including a sour which is my beer of choice! The food was absolutely delicious! We shared the fried pickles and shared a couple of burgers with beer battered fries and onion rings as the sides. All of it was cooked great, and it was all flavorful! My very first legal drink ever was a "Liquid Marajuana" here made by Danielle who I forever love for that! The new barkeep had never heard of the drink but was very eager to look up the recipe on her nifty bartending app to attempt it for me when I came back again. Of course it wasn't the EXACT same as I remembered the first time (can anything compare to your first magically legal drink?) but I do appreciate the extra effort! I am sure they are now more focused on their revamped drink menu which includes new signature drinks  "Bourbon Blueberry Pie" and "Rayne Peach".  "Way Point Saloon" formerly known as "Molly Malones" (locals continue to pay homage to the OG name) was featured on an episode of Bar Rescue during Season 4, episode 32 "Shamrocks & Shenanigans". (Makes sense or they'd have Gordon Ramseys "Hells Kitchen" on their asses!) One problem was that their drinks were "Too strong"...which is all I could ever ask for in a bartender. Also, "Too much bacon"...another thing I could only hope for in a chef! They are not skimping on these items either per the advice they received, which I totally agree with of course.  FOOD: The same kitchen connects both "Up the Hill Grill" & "Way Point Saloon" which is an interesting dynamic for depending what time of mood your in. The "Avacado fries" are definitely not made with the same type of love as my friends used to whip up when they were both chefs here. They are now just called "fried avocado" & there's a reason for that...LACK OF FLAVORING! First time I tried them I was shocked at the depth of flavor I had experienced from the batter mix of; Club soda, Tempura powder dipped in crushed Funion chips! PLEASE go back to the preparation method the great Christine & Cameron once used...I can assure you as a customer they are 10 times better! They went from "Best I ever had" to "What a drag" real quick!  My craving for a bloody mary along with a bacon slider has finally been satisfied!  Both were amazing & the sliders come in an order of 3. However, I wish the option for a single order was avaliable to only get 1 slider. If I wanted a larger portion I would have just ordered an entire whole burger instead, make sense?  Similar to an appetizer with 1 slider accompanying the Bloody Mary attached to the kabob of assorted finger foods that comes in the drink on a skewer. I understand if that's not an order that is offered here & I can makeshift my own creation but it would've been nice not to have the excess sliders or effort to do so. This unique & aesthetically pleasing method of presentation may be a bit boujie for the likes of this town...but I'm sure it would be more of a modern HIT! I surely would appreciate not having to drive all the way down to SD to expierence this cool trend.  ATMOSPHERE: Old west gold rush theme is fitting for the town & not TOO much different than the original interior. They play some country songs but mostly throwback music that you would hear featured on the Rock 105.3 radio station. Overall it's a very laidback & homey kind of atmosphere here!   The new color scheme matches the "Stagecoach route" that once came through the Ramona. Roadhouse. Rustic decor has distressed wood & repurposed furniture that compliments the "Waystation" history of Ramona. New lighting inside emits comforting vibes from the dark atmosphere...but now has a less cobweb/dusty feel while still holding onto that old homey feeling that we all love! It is very dark inside but well lit with glowing red & blue lights, naturally very cool calming hues & are my favorite! Along with the outside sitting area that offers a wide variety of games to play (besides your typical pool which to me is not very coo!l) I feel right at home here with my friends house in walking distance being an added bonus from the usual problem I have going to bars "down the hill"! The owner Bob is super down to earth as well & will hold a conversation with you if engaged.   I highly recommend stopping by this new & improved location if you are passing through town to visit Julian which is another popular tourist attraction! This place will warm you right up after exploring the winter snow in the mountains another rarity for California. I know I will be back real soon to check out their Karaoke event hosted on Thursday nights at 8 PM! They also offer free pool on Sunday Evenings if your interested in that sort of thing. read more

For my birthday my husband wanted to know where would I like to go for dinner/lunch. The Waypoint Saloon in Ramona was my answer. Its only an hour drive from San Diego and so worth the trip. Our waitress Nicolle was charming chatty and organized. Still the best meal ever! I had the Chicken and avo sandwich with the most ever divine onion rings! Those onion rings can't be beat! So we went up on Friday, in part because we had seen a rerun of Bar Rescue and also because there was going to be a pretty good band playing. First off, they have no drink list. This seemed odd as if you have ever seen an episode of Bar Rescue, they always create a special menu for the bar. Second, the bartender had no idea how to make two basic Vodka drinks. Then we found out after waiting almost an hour that the band had cancelled. They never changed the signs that were advertising the band playing. I love a dark, dive bar. The look of it is super fun and the afternoon crowd was chill. The food was ok. I was a little surprised that their chicken club sandwich was a grilled chicken sandwich and not the classic club. I guess I should have asked lol. Free pool on Sunday's should be free pool on both tables. I don't get it, they're actually loosing business because of this decision. I have witnessed people leave and have done so myself because of this! Since the beverage prices are so high you would think the second table being open wouldn't hurt the business. So we were driving out the full length of Hwy 76 E., and we got hungry. Took the 79 back through Ramona, and did a YELP! search. Up The Hill Grill was recommended highly, but nobody mentioned in the reviews that they don't have a liquor license. They DON'T HAVE A LIQUOR LICENSE!!!!! Luckily, they share a kitchen with Molly Molone's Sport's Bar. Our bartender/server Paula was ON IT!!! Delicious Sea breeze cocktails on a hot afternoon hits the spot for booze and liquid refreshment all in one. Nice pour, tall glasses without being asked. We had the jalapeno poppers, the onion rings, fried cheese sticks and a chicken quesedilla for her, and I had the patty melt. The kitchen also has it going on....everything was tasty. The jalapeno poppers are different. They are loaded with a seasoned cheese, wrapped in bacon and fried, without a breading. This makes them a bit firmer, fresher tasting and crunchy than they usual style. They were also extremely hot(spicy-wise) poppers. Two per person is sufficient, unless you like very, very spicy food. The patty melt is highly recommended. I didn't notice it on the menu, but it came with fries. Very tasty fries...but we didn't need fries AND onion rings, and I was told AFTER the feast that I could have substituted. Don't be afraid to ask. Now. The ambiance of this place is standard roadhouse tavern. There is a little bitty dance floor in back, two pool tables and a lot of high top tables. If you like roadhouse type taverns, you will like this place. It isn't fine dining by any stretch, but Paula wasn't just a great bartender, she was really friendly and observant. Everyone there was. The food was excellent for what it is, and the bill was $80.00 for lots of food and drinks (4 Seabreezes) with a healthy tip for the consideration. Would go back anytime! read more

Great girl behind the bar! BUT, locals/ regulars kinda took away the fun. Only pool to play and a regular just started hanging out with us saying it was his table. When sitting at the bar(which was pretty empty) we were crowded and regulars were yelling and being crazy RIGT behind us(rubbing on us they were so close). We are from out of town and just wanted a drink and quiet break from our family vacation. No respect of personal space by the people there. Good drinks and good selection, but maybe have a chat with the regulars not to run off new people! On a side note, the Karaoke DJ(a woman) was very nice and welcoming. She let us know about her times for shows. Overall I would say go here, but have a backup plan. read more

The bar has a good beer selection and a tasty menu. I'm giving it three stars mainly for the atmosphere at the time we were there. It was about 5:00 on a Saturday and the place had about 20 people hanging out watching football. Two of the patrons...who appeared to be locals...starting singing along with a song that was playing but they decided to add their own lyrics..."Kill the white man". I usually have a great sense of humor and usually am fine with some edgy humor. However, these guys did it through the whole song and not one bartender, server, manager said anything to these guys. Change it up and make it offensive to another group and the ACLU would have shown up. It was classless and offensive. Take control of your bar. read more

I guess I'll provide the perspective of the "old-timer" for the benefit of the readership over 40. (I'm 44 and been in Ramona on and off for over 15 years). Molly's is probably not the place for the over forty crowd, unless you like loud music and a lot of younger people looking at you like you're a museum specimen. I'd say the age range is from 21 to about 35, but really not a lot of people over 30. When I went in there with my 27 year old male companion who happens to weigh in at 220+, he found himself with several opportunities for fisticuffs (an old-school word meaning "fight.") Every time he turned around it seemed like some big dude was either blocking him or bumping him -- and this was when he was walking out to the patio, not on the dance floor, where such things could be interpreted as inadvertent. My friend is not a long-time Ramona resident, and he said the vibe made him feel distinctly "unwelcome." Being in the appropriate age group, he has even tried going to Molly's more than just once, and he never really had a good time. Bottom line, IMHO, not necessarily a place for an outsider unless you're real comfortable with the loud bar scene. The drinks are average-priced, but I've seen them pour a little lite. read more

I drive by this bar every night on my way home from work and I am always impressed with the number of cars out front. To me, if a bar is that busy on random nights it must be at least decent - or there's nothing else around. In Ramona, you have a few different bars to choose from so that isn't really the case. My husband and I decided to try this place out one night after sushi at Full Moon in Ramona (the best sushi ever, by the way!!!). We were pleasantly surprised with Molly's! The decor inside is very nice and the drinks are very reasonable priced. The outside patio is cool and the food they serve is pretty darn good. I recommend the loaded fries, they are really good! I imagine the rest of the menu is delicious too! They had karaoke the night we went and it was quite entertaining, as karaoke often is. The host was super funny too, apparently he's not the usual host but he did an excellent job. Other than karaoke, the music was enjoyable - a mix of country and pop hits. The doorman was really friendly and encouraged us to come back to Molly's when we left. Ramona just keeps getting better in our eyes, this place is a fun place to be! read more

I recently went to see my friends band "The Sickstring Outlaws" play here. It is a great venue and very homey. There is a smaller stage, great sound, a few pool tables, and a wonderful outside smoking area. A waitress came around taking drink orders and when I told her I didn't drink and was the DD, she offered me anything else I'd like to drink. She kept coming around and remembered I didn't drink, and always offered a soda, glass of water; or whatever. There was absolutely no pressure to buy alcohol which I certainly appreciated. Goldfish races on Wednesdays are really fun. Only $2 for a fish and you're guaranteed two races. They generally don't start until late, close to 10, so don't expect to be done until close to midnight. The bartenders are really nice though, and very accommodating. I don't enjoy super strong tasting drinks, so they made me something they call a Lipstick Lemonade and it tastes like sweet tarts. So good! They often don't get enough people in the bar to be able to race the goldfish so the staff jumped in the last time I was there, which was kind of unfair since they work there. It was a staff member who won, and that didn't seem right either. But if you come in 2nd (which is the highest anyone I've been with has placed) you get a $15 bar tab, and that's pretty cool. read more

After multiple visits to this bar, here are my PROS/CONS: PROS: Bartenders - The bartenders here are quick with their service and friendly to new faces. Having just moved to Ramona, the bartenders have made me feel welcome every time I'm here and have even remembered my face when I stopped at the conjoined Up The Hill Grill for some food. Pool Tables - While not surprising due to the amount of league play that happens here, the pool tables at Way Point Saloon are in great shape in comparison to what I've seen at some bars. Food - As many reviews have mentioned, the burgers here are very good. But the same can be said for their chicken strips, a favorite of my girlfriend, and the duck wings, a favorite of mine. Come during happy hour to take advantage of their 1/2 price appetizers. We find ourselves ordering takeout from here pretty regularly on those lazy nights when we don't feel like drinking. Live Music/Events - There's ALWAYS something going on at Way Point Saloon. Between the pool leagues, live music, and karaoke nights, I feel this bar does a great job of keeping their guests entertained. Men's Bathroom - Kind of weird to have in a PROS column, right? Well, I thought it to be rather cool and creative that the urinal in the men's room is a beer keg with an opening cut out of the side. It's small things like this that add to the uniqueness of this bar and something I felt worthy of mentioning. CONS: Chef Consistency - Having ordered the same food items from the menu on different days, my girlfriend and I have both noticed that sometimes the food tastes better on certain days. That's not to say it's ever bad. It's just noticeably not as good some days and I think that could be due to some slight inconsistencies between chefs. One-Time Incident - After going to Way Point Saloon nearly every other day to watch the NBA Playoffs, I arrived one afternoon and someone had already requested a hockey game for the one tv. This shouldn't have been an issue since there are multiple tv's in the bar. When I asked if she could change the tv to the basketball game, she informed me that ChiveTV is playing on this one and the other one is already taken. Rather than changing the channel for a customer (who has already given a lot of money to this establishment since moving to Ramona) and instead leaving it on ChiveTV who nobody seemed to be watching at that moment, definitely annoyed me. I like ChiveTV as much as the next customer, but when you have multiple tv's dedicated to playing music videos that don't even match the music being played, it seems rather silly to deny a customer a channel request, especially when the bar was nearly empty. I took my business elsewhere for that night. OVERALL: Way Point Saloon quickly became a favorite of mine upon moving to Ramona. I definitely recommend it to anyone visiting or living in Ramona. While the one-time incident that happened did take me elsewhere for the night and convinced me to give them four stars instead of five, I will continue to frequent the Way Point Saloon and the fun environment they provide. read more
