3 stars because when we ate in the restaurant, the food was great and the service was outstanding. However, I just ordered delivery, and it was inedible. I ordered the burger cooked medium, and it was well-done. Common in San Diego, and wouldn't have been that bad as that's just what I expect these days. However, this was the driest burger I've ever had. There was barely a slice of cheddar on it and the avocado tasted rancid. I took 2 bites and threw the rest out. The pitch is "American Food Redifined" so we try a Turkey sandwich and the BBQ Brisket. My Brisket was totally bland all I tasted was BBQ sauce and Banana Peppers . The Turkey sandwich was just a typical Turkey sandwich, plain and both were no where near anything defined as refined. This is just another no frills sandwich/burger joint. My soda was nothing but soda water with a splash of syrup. I was impressed that our receipt had both codes for wi-fi and bathroom although the wi-fi password did not work. We asked our server about it this and she said she would try on her phone and talk to the manager about it and never heard another word about it. We are Santee residents and wanted to try this restaurant to find out how good it is. The first time we walked in, we immediately liked the vibe in there with the whole setup inside! Nice roomy tables and relaxed atmosphere of outside dinning area! We ordered Chimichurri steak salad, Sweet potato fries and stand Blonde beer! That Chimichurri steak salad was one of the very best salads we have eaten in a joint like this! So tasty with all kinds of leaves, and the pieces of steak were very delicious with a hint of mint leaves! We were hooked from that very first bite! So we have been going over there a few times just to get a nice healthy salad and sweet potato fries! Today was no exception! There was a cashier named, Michael who took our order, was most helpful and attentive to our requests! He let me try different beers and recommended another one which went quite well with my favorite salad! This young cashier, Michael, is definitely an asset to this restaurant without any doubt! This will be the joint we will return to when we need a hearty, delicious salad for a very reasonable price! This was our third visit to The Stand in Santee. On this visit we had the pleasure of meeting a Corporate Manger named Renato. He was very attentive and wanted to see how we were enjoying our meal. We love their menu and have tried several items already. Renato heard us talking about their milkshakes and was kind enough to give us a sample of the seasonal Thai flavor.
