8" was way too big. "That's what she said."
    Chris P.

These sammiches were completely scrumptious. I got the 8" and even that was way too much to eat. It was packed full of meat and the service was just like a traditional deli. Even the seating was typical. Be there before the rush because lunch time gets packed. I would definitely come back. It's not a date place because it's by the old El Cajon "skid row" however, ECPD cleaned it up a lot.

The food, the service, the old school deli vibe, this place has it all. The chicken salad might be the best I've had in San Diego. The flavor was spot on! Now I have to go back and try the tuna sandwich. My wife got the deli club on sourdough and it was massive. They do not skimp on their portions. There is a reason this place has been around soft so long, they do things the right way!

Iconic deli in El Cajon located in an industrial area of town off the 67 freeway. Plentiful parking. Outstanding service - very welcoming and articulate. We shared a 12" #1 Italian sub, it was MASSIVE. Easily splittable and/or enough for multiple meals at that. The vegetables were crisp and fresh. The bread is chewy. Lots of great quality meat. Can't wait to return!

I've been coming to Antonelli's for a couple decades now and my father has been going for many more before me. He knew and would chat with Andy before he passed away. Antonelli's has remained the gold-standard Italian-style sub sandwich for as long as I can remember, from grabbing them on the way to the beach as a child to popping in to grab one while I'm in town as an adult. The ingredients are always fresh and consistent and the staff are always super friendly and helpful. It can get busy around lunch time, so it never hurts to order ahead. If you've never been, make the trip, you won't regret it!

This place was awesome! It really felt authentic, like a hole in the wall mom and pop local deli. The staff were so friendly and nice. They even let us stay past their official closing time to finish our meal. They gave us great recommendations from the menu. The sandwich was classic, felt really fresh and had good, clean ingredients. Huge amount of food for your money, you can order a foot long and it is easily a huge meal (each) for 2 people to share.

Def family oriented business you feel the love as you walk in! Big Menu! Lots of options they even have breakfast! It was hard to choose one but I was in the mood for comfort and went with a hot one - the meatball sub, the man went with a cold Meaty one #1 which was packed with greatness! Meatballs were good size and sauce was nice and bold full of flavor. Bread is huge and soft, all fresh quality ingredients used for sure. Drink options were good because they had bottled drinks and fountain drinks available, lots of seating inside and a few big tables outside.

We are getting both pastrami sandwiches today. They come with sauerkraut but we're getting it on the side. The service is outstanding in about 10 minutes. The ambulance in here is very nice.

Every time I go there, I'm never disappointed with the taste of the food. The service is excellent, and the people are friendly and the area for dining is really reasonably sized excellent place to go.

The best sandwich I've ever had! I got the pastrami and the pastreuben and both were amazingly juicy and delicious! The pastrami is my favorite though because it has more vegetables and the fluffy bread makes it a really well balanced sandwich that I can eat all of. The pastreuben was a lot heavier and I wasn't able to eat the whole thing, but it is still good I would just split it with someone. There's plenty of parking and outdoor seating which is nice. I'll be back again for the pastrami sandwich!

Antonelli's Deli is a hidden gem! I stopped in for a quick bite and was blown away. Their Chicken Caesar Salad was crisp, fresh, and perfectly dressed--simple but done right. The real star, though, was the pepper steak sandwich on sourdough. The steak was tender, full of flavor, and had just the right kick of pepper. The sourdough was warm, toasted, adding the perfect texture and tang. Tip for thought: Lunch time gets packed so you may have to park on the street Great service, friendly staff, and great portions--definitely coming back!

She knows her stuff-knows how to ask the right questions so that you get what you really want. For instance, I was on the fence about having biscuits and gravy but I asked if the gravy was really peppery. She offered to get me a small taste and although it was delicious, I've been a little under the weather so I decided I didn't want anything really heavy. Instead I ordered the 3 egg scramble with their smoked ham and added cheese-it was really good and a huge serving including their potatoes and English muffin. I'll probably be able to make two more meals from this serving! My husband ordered the eggs Benedict and asked which potatoes they would be able to make the most crispy as we both like our potatoes crispy. She suggested the hash browns and even asked if he wanted them crispy on both sides which was a great way to get them the way he wanted. Those kinds of gestures really make the difference when you're dining out. The eggs Benedict and the hash browns were delicious, btw. :) Camryn had a great personality too-very friendly, bright and quick. She did a great job of checking in on all of her tables. When we go back I hope we are lucky enough to have Camryn serve us again but all of the servers seemed very friendly as well. Great job, Izzy's and Camryn!

We were a large group so there were a few people rotating in and out to make our lunch special. The restaurant itself is beautiful. There is outdoor dining as well. We felt like it was authentic and reasonable price point. For the table, they brought out lots of chips and salsa. It was nice and crispy and flavorful. Not spicy, though. I had ordered the Hacienda Carne Asada. It was a flamed broil skirt steak with a cheese enchilada, rice, beans, and guacamole. The beans came inside a fried tortilla bowl. OH MY! It was so good. I am embarrassed to say, I kept on eating and talking even though I was full. Overall, we had a great time! The food was delicious. The service was amazing. Ample parking. The price point was reasonable in this economy. You get plenty of food. Clean bathrooms. Look at their website for live entertainment schedule! I cannot wait to come back soon!

We enjoyed a really good breakfast at Broken Yolk in Santee on a sunny Sunday morning…read more We arrived around 9:45 and the dining room was already hopping pretty good. We are bar sitters and found the "hook" open, so we took our seats. Luke was our bartender/server for the day. Luke provided excellent service. Super friendly dude. We hope that your knee is fixed Luke! A mimosa for Becky and a Modelo "NFL" for me to start. Bex ordered the Meat Lover's Skillet. Diced ham, bacon and sausage sauteed with bell peppers, onions, and home fries. Topped with scrambled eggs, Jack cheese and green onion. I chose a side of Biscuits and Gravy as I knew I would be sharing in the skillet. After about a 10-minute wait, our food was delivered. It was piping hot fresh out of the kitchen. Bex decided that she wanted a side of sourdough toast, Luke had it to us in less than two minutes, despite his bum knee. The skillet was a very large portion and easily fed us both with plenty to take home. Every component of the skilled was excellent. From the breakfast potatoes on the bottom to the gooey Jack cheese on top. The eggs were scrambled and seasoned well. The biscuits were super dense and really tasty. The gravy was thick and peppery. I did not need two biscuits. I only finished one. Only One biscuit with an additional ladle of gravy would have been perfect. It had been a while since our last visit to Broken Yolk. We were very impressed with the food and the service.
