This place has been open for a year and they did not disappoint. I have drove by this place so many times and always want to try it but never had a chance. I finally came in and got to try these two sandwiches, and they were absolutely delicious. I am highly picky with my sandwiches and I was a little scared, specifically when it comes to my pastrami, but the quality they have here is top notch. They serve Dietz and Watson premium meats and I am so glad I came and gave this place a chance. On top of all that the owner is so down to earth and clearly makes these sandwiches from the bottom of his heart. Thank you so much for the amazing service. PS. Fan-freaking-tastic! My family and I tried Mr. Ray Ray's for the first time today and we all loved the sandwiches we got--even my super picky youngest! We had been passing by this strip mall and finally decided to give this sandwich spot a try. Before you walk in there are three to four tables outside, and inside they had four tabletops on the left. Mr Ray Ray's has the same concept as Subway. They offer both pre-set sandwiches for convenience and the traditional "build-your-own" option where you pick the bread, meat, vegetables, cheese and condiments. You can also pick your own chips & grab your own drink. Ray Ray made our sandwiches and was very helpful. We were both going to order the same pastrami sandwich. He talked us into getting two different sandwich to share and recommended we try one hot & one cold. I was dead set on the "Bavarian Delight". He suggested the "Firehouse Gouda" with jalapeño bread. When we were dining he received a phone call from a customer who had to call to let him know how good the sandwiches were. And I have to agree! Really good! The King sandwich is huge, easily two lunches. I wanted a Tuna sandwich, and Ray's delivered -- nice fresh bread roll, sprouts, banana peppers.. the whole deal, All toppings, specialty breads, and sauces are included. Delicious -- the kind of sandwich where you pick up all the bits that dropped. The shop is nice and clean, well-lit, and the foot prep area is spotless and organized. All the veggies were fresh, even on a holiday weekend. Seating inside and outside, plenty of parking. We just tried this new sandwich spot and WOW. One of the best sandwiches I've had in a long time. The portions are huge, the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh, and the bread was perfect hearty, soft, and packed with flavor. I ordered the Maple Smokehouse sandwich and added pickles and olives, and it was absolutely incredible. The sandwich was stacked high with layers of turkey, melty cheese, fresh veggies, and the perfect balance of flavors. Every bite was delicious. The presentation was also amazing beautifully stacked and the garnish on top was such a fun touch. On top of the great food, the service was amazing. The family running the place is so kind and welcoming, and you can really feel the care they put into what they do. Quite possibly the best sandwich I've ever had. Was a bit overwhelmed by all the fun options, but it obviously came down to the The Ray Ray Royale. A serious game changer. We swapped the mortadella for rotisserie chicken because, after he kindly insisted we sample it, we knew we needed that. So tender and flavorful and randomly paired super well with the "ground beef patty" (which is actually thinly sliced meatball in case you're assuming it's more burger-like.) All of the ingredients melded together beautifully into a mountainous pile on a perfect jalapeño roll. The fresh arugula, tomato, pickled red onion, pepperoncinis, and jalapeños that we added, complemented each other wonderfully with the signature sauce which he described as a creamy steak sauce. Genius! It's also an insane value for the price. Me and my dude split the first half there and got fairly full, then gladly polished off the second half a couple hours later. We enjoyed it even more once we toasted it up a bit. It does the bread more justice. So, definitely upgrade and get the full sandwich or you'll regret it later. Trust me. The lemonades are great, too. Made with real sugar. All of them are tasty but I liked the mango one best. Not only that, the place is immaculately clean. All the tables, the restroom, the whole damn setup is somehow completely spotless. Add to all of this one of thee kindest & most welcoming business owners I've ever encountered. He was so accommodating and patient with us and extremely forthcoming and honest about any questions we had. Mr. Ray Ray's has recently taken over Deli Belly's location in the El Cajon, Rancho San Diego location. They are just getting underway and are indeed making sandwiches. I ordered the 6" Gobbler Deluxe, which came with sliced Overgold turkey, bacon, Vermont cheddar, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, mustard, and mayo on a wheat roll. You get to choose the type of bread you like. The sandwich cost $9.99 plus tax. The sandwich was good and they put a good amount of each ingredient in the sandwich with the exception of the bacon. It could of used one or two more slices. The turkey was tasty and the lettuce and tomatoes were fresh. The wheat roll was flavorful but I little on the dry side. They should consider warming it up or toasting it. Also, offering a little olive oil and wine vinegar mixture to be drizzled on the lettuce would be nice, too. The service was friendly. The customer service here is excellent! Everyone is super helpful and understanding because when you make little mistakes with your order, they handle it so kindly. Sorry guys, not a big fan. Perhaps my expectations were too high after reading the reviews, and the food fell way short. Once I realized it was the same location as Deli Belly, I knew just where to go. Upon arrival everything looked good, nice and clean, the only thing different was a nice new menu on the wall. The gentleman behind the counter, assumed it was Ray or the owner, was very nice and welcoming. I ordered a sandwich called the skyline and a regular turkey. Both the small size which I believe is 6 inches. The description of the skyline looked really good but in reality was disappointing. Let's start with the bread. A small bun described as French bread, a couple of what I would call Deli slices of pastrami, a slice of cheese melted, canned, pickled jalapeños, and red onion. No lettuce, no tomato, the sandwich lacked depth, and flavor. There was nothing homemade about this sandwich and I was not impressed and actually felt like it was a waste of $12. I ordered the turkey sandwich for my granddaughters to share and it wasn't any better. On the same kind of bun, a few slices of turkey, lettuce, and that's it. To his defense , I ordered a plain sandwich from the "build your own" menu, but the portions of meat and lettuce were so minimal it looked like something I could have thrown together in my own kitchen and for way less. For $25 I got two sub par sandwiches and a bag of chips....not impressed. I will give them a second chance, I'm not mad, just disappointed. Maybe there's a sandwich on the menu they might better fit my expectations, which is, if I'm going to spend $12-13 on a sandwich, I expect it to be extraordinary, memorable, flavorful, and fresh. read more

Very impressed after thinking that this place might have been a little skimpy. I saw or read a review showing that they were a bit skimpy on the meat. I had a birthday deal that I used here and was far from disappointed! The place is very clean and the entire family, down to the kids, are conscientious about keeping this place in order and running well. Good job! Ray was there as well, on a Sunday, and they were working on catering orders and in-store. The "regular" sandwich is HUGE. I don't even know how big the upgraded "Giant" is. The sandwich did NOT skimp, and was loaded with ingredients. I added avocado and they did not skimp on that either. It was served on a nice plastic plate with a doily and a tiny olive, cherry tomato and picklet on a fancy looking toothpick. The ONLY drawback, is it's a little pricey.... but unfortunately (lol) the extra price is justified and worth it for what you get, but it'll keep me from coming here too often. $19 is too much for a sandwich, 20 ounce drink and small bag of chips, but even still, I give it five stars, with an asterisk for the price. read more
