The boyfriend found this spot on Yelp, so we decided to come out and give it a try. Let me say it was so worth the drive from Imperial Beach. My order: half a smoked brisket sandwich on a french roll and a cup of metball soup. The brisket was so tender and juicy! The sandwich was ginormous! The soup was tasty and packed with veggies and came with two thick slices of soft homemade bread. Bf order: Bravo on a multi grain roll and a small side of potato salad. This sandwich was a giant as well. So much meat! And it must have had a whole perfectly ripened avocado in it! The owners were very friendly and the service was fast. The dining area is small but tidy. The only downfall is the lack of public restrooms but that's not worth docking any of the 5 stars this place deserves! A must try! read more

I absolutely love a deli sandwich. These sandwiches are ginormous and they don't skimp on anything! I enjoyed the bravo sandwich which I believe was filled with turkey, ham, salami, lettuce, tomato and avocado. They did not skimp on anything and the sandwich was filled to the brim! In addition to their delicious sandwiches, their potato salad is a must along with their soup. That day, they had a yummy greek lemon chicken soup that was fantastic. What can I say but AMAZING! This is a serious hidden gem of old Rancho that is family run with some of the best sandwiches and salads you will find in all of San Diego. The small restaurant is family owned with Greek heritage and it shines through in all the food that is made fresh on site each day. First off, for the price the portions are HUGE...a small greek chicken salad is easily enough for 2 meals. I like the Bravo Sandwich on sourdough with roast beef instead of salami. The fresh roast beef is shredded as opposed to deli sliced and boy is it tended and seriously delicious. The potato salad, all soups, and honestly everything at the shop is a must try. You can taste the love and family values in the food. The shop is very small with limited seating, maybe 1-2 tables so defiantly call ahead and order to go. Service is exceptional, from the moment you walk in you are greeted with a smile and your order is ready to pick up. I believe the kids work the front while dad is in the back cooking. The gentleman making my sandwich didn't use gloves and had long arm hair exposed, but I still gave him the benefit of the doubt. I had one half of the sandwich and it was ok, the pastrami was a bit dry and bland though. The potato salad was bland, warm and possibly out of date. Then I got to the second half of the sandwich and noticed two hairs, one wrapped around a tomato and the other on the side of the sandwich. I recommend you use gloves in the future and possibly wear a long sleeve shirt. read more

It's family run by Manoli and his wife Rosio. Their son Milton also helps them out. They've been in business for almost 30 years. One bite of their pastrami sandwich will explain it all. They are so sweet and just the nicest and welcoming family. I love their consistency, every time you walk in the door you're greeted with a warm smile and food is always made with love. They don't make it til you order it and taste homemade. Give it a try and you'll find why they've lasted through time. From the sandwiches, their salads to their smoothies. My turkey club on a roll is one of my favs... the bread, so addicting as it's soft and flavorful... the bacons crispy, the feta is divine on the small Greek salads and their house oil and vinegar dressing is delicious. The Mexican Mocha was yummy!!!! Updated review 01/14/2021 What can I say, the sandwiches are always large and in charge!!!! Even the half sandwich and salad combination is enough for two people!!! They made some modifications during Covid as it still only take out and it's always best to call it in. You enter through the main entrance and there are signs directing you to exit through the opposite side of the restaurant. They only allow one person in at a time. You are a couple feet away from the register and the person behind it. Ones change is provided on top of a basket that is covered in plastic. And don't forget to tip them. Today I had the bravo sandwich! It comes with ham, turkey and salami. I subtracted the ham as it's a little too salty for me and no tomatoes because I knew I was gonna have some in the salad. I got a watch that citric acid. Also on the sandwich is a ton of avocado, thinly sliced onions and shredded lettuce. I always choose to get it on the role which is so soft and delicious and it's coded nicely with some mustard and mayo. The sandwich is garnished with a slice of dill pickle on the side. The Greek salad is loaded with luscious green lettuce, onions, a few olives that are pitted, tons of feta cheese, sliced tomatoes, bread on the side and oil and vinegar dressing. A whole sandwich is enough for two to share, while a half sandwich is equivalent to what many places consider a whole. Prices can creep up on you though. Sandwiches are the BOMB! Big servings, overstuffed, great bread. I bought a smoked pastrami on a multi grain roll and got two meals from it. That being said, I had to stop myself from eating it all at one sitting because it tasted so good. The wife got a small salad with roasted chicken and it must have been 3 pounds of food. Great value!
