This is definitely a nice add to the Valley. It has alot of seating inside and outside. The service was also fast and friendly. You order up at the counter and sit where ever you want. I got the Big Shrimp Bowl eith a side of fries and the Cali Creamin. I replaced the rice with the kale salad. The bowl was huge which I appreciated. All the veggies were fresh and crisp. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and plump. The stand fries were solid but nothing too special. Worth a try if you're in the valley and need a spot to eat. read more

We visited The Stand on a Sunday afternoon for lunch, and everything was delicious! The restaurant is located in the same shopping center as Sprouts, with plenty of parking. They have a large menu with lots to choose from, including the option to build your own burger. I built my own burger with a beef patty cooked medium-well, brioche bun, lettuce, tomato, American cheese, pickles, and Stand sauce. I ordered BBQ sauce on the side and poured a little onto each bite. It was SO good! My burger was cooked exactly how I requested. My girls ordered grilled cheese with fries and chicken tenders with fries. Everything tasted great, and the portions were enough to fill us up. I usually have leftovers when eating out, but not this time. We ate everything! I also ordered a cookies and cream milkshake, while the girls shared a strawberry milkshake. Both were delicious. Not a drop was left! The staff were very friendly and helpful. You order at the counter, receive a number, and choose your own seat. They also provide complimentary water cups. There's indoor and outdoor seating, and the tables were clean. We didn't wait long for our food, either. There were TVs showing sports, but the restaurant wasn't loud or noisy. We were able to comfortably enjoy our lunch and have a conversation. My only complaints were the menu placement and the seating at the long tables. The menu is mounted so high above the ordering counter that you have to crane your neck to read it. Inside, there are both booths and long tables with bar-height chairs. We sat at one of the long tables, and I didn't find those chairs very comfortable. Next time, hopefully a booth is available or we can try to sit outside, as those tables were different. The good - Great menu with a wide variety of options. Surely something for everyone. Super unique burger options - the apple cheddar with honey mustard with SO delicious! The jalapeño bacon was good too, but loads of jalapeños, fresh and roasted, so get ready to burn your socks off. Tasty hazy IPA options. The bad - The chips and sweet potato fries came cold and soggy :( fairly clean but not clean enough. When it's not busy and tables stay unbussed, an entire onion ring lays there in a high traffic area, it's like "eek what does the kitchen look like?" The ugly - I really didn't mean to see this, but you can see the kitchen...bowls of raw meat stacked in the fry or warming zone (not sure but there was fry food under the bowls) and then to-go containers stacked on the raw meat bowls There, I said it. It was my 1st time here and she was patient with me and explained a few things about how I can customize my order. FIONA also took her time to explain the app to me and their Rewards program. I signed up! When you provide your phone number send you a text message to download the app and that's how you get free fries and can earn points for other rewards! From the moment I walked outside, I was greeted by one of the employees and inside everyone is just so nice and friendly. It's super cool when you see people here calling the servers by their name and thanking them. The vibe is very nice, the music is going, TVs are on and it's a well air condition establishment! My big blue burger initially came out with no arugula or bacon, but the gentleman noticed that and brought it for me. I have returned to have lunch with my daughter and Mother . We all spent quality time together and it was a pleasant visit. I order a Buffalo Chicken sandwich which was sheer perfection. My daughter ordered the same. She was the one who told me how delicious it was as she had ordered it before. I love how it's a sandwich that is not deep fried because it's grilled and healthy. The buffalo sauce was so delicious. It was spicy but not too hot. My Mom ordered a turkey burger which she said was good but not the best. Okay I have heard of The Stand and how they have multiple locations now in San Diego but my friend asked to meet here at the Santee location and I was super impressed. The menu was much larger than I had expected for a fast casual spot and included so many things I could have ordered so clearly I need to come back soon. Since it was my first time I went with the classic burger and we shared the sweet potato fries and she got one of the salads. They also have beer and wine at this location including a wine based frozen paloma and let me tell you on a hot summer day that was super refreshing. The burger was super juicy and had great flavor I was raving about it all day. The salad was huge! Perfect to share with someone if you wanted and the selection of sauces they have is next level I need to try them all! Stumbled into this place after my sons game. I've driven by this place I can't tell you how many times. My friend finally convinced us to give it a try. Initial entrance this place is very clean! I immediately was like ok yes. We walked up to order and the menu was overwhelming. Will is who helped us and let me tell you he was amazing!!! We sat outside as it was a beautiful day, patio is big and although it has many tables, you don't feel like you're on top of other people. Now the food - we ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich, the southwestern chicken sandwich and the crispy tenders with fries they were all really good. Regular fries were delicious, crispy and recently done; however, the cheese fries didn't do it for me and the reason is that it was just a little sprinkled shredded cheese with pieces of tomato and onion so a bit weird. The restaurant was still very dirty with food under multiple tables and tables with dishes left for long periods of time, we had to hunt for a table that was actually wiped. Counter service and the person in the dining room was excellent. Friendly and attentive. This time the sweet potato fries were indeed well done! I ordered a falafel wrap- decent flavor, half of the wrap was lettuce unlike the picture. I would order this again. My husband had the jalapeno bacon burger. I'd love to review in this place first open, we have been back multiple times. There hasn't been a thing yet that I haven't liked. This time around I tried the side salad regular and the chips and guacamole. Both were absolutely amazing.. You can't beat the side salad, literally it could be all you would need for lunch. His name was Will and he seemed to truly care that we had the best experience possible. Here's what I'll say about the brisket sandwich. There were so many intense flavors on it like the spicy mustard sauce and the peppercinis that I really could not taste the meat. It overwhelmed it. My advice- get the mustard and peppers on the side. It does have cold slaw, but the mustard was te overwhelming flavor. Which is a shame considering how much effort goes into doing brisket correctly. I've come here a few times. Staff is always friendly. My last visit my dine in visit was taking quite long specially because it was only two sides. Mac n cheese and chili cheese fries. After waiting 20 min I went up to counter to ask About my order. They apologized and said they will get it out shortly. I went back to sit down. We were gifted a $50 gift card for The Stand, so we decided to give them another try as our first visit ended with us not staying. We walked in on a Saturday afternoon. The place was relatively busy. We found two seats at one of the communal high-top tables. Once we secured our seats, I went to the counter to order. The Stand is an order at the counter; your food will be brought to you type of place. I asked Michael (same guy who took my order) if one of the TVs could be switched from high school basketball to a marquee college football game. He was happy to oblige; my game was on within minutes. We decided to split the Jalapeño Bacon Burger (beef patty, American cheese, pepper jack cheese, grilled onions, bacon, roasted jalapeño, pickled jalapeño, crispy onion strings, jalapeño scallion aioli, on a brioche bun) ordered medium rare. We also ordered a side of fries well done with ranch for dipping, a seltzer and a beer. I paid with the digital gift card on my phone. Michael at the register poured the beverages and handed them to me with a number to place on the table. Friendly service. A little less than 10 minutes later our food was delivered. The burger was split in half for us and was cooked perfectly. The fries came in a separate little tray. They were well done and piping hot. The burger was really good. It was deliciously spicy. The roasted jalapeño was a great addition. The fries were excellent, as was the ranch. The portions seemed a bit small for the price. $13.50 for the burger, $3.75 to add the small container of fries. Beer and seltzer $8 each. Our total was $35.83, and honestly, I could've crushed the burger on my own. It was a tad small to split. The restaurant is definitely geared more towards a family restaurant than bar and grill. Which is great for most, but not our preference. We are bar sitters, and The Stand has no bar. Aside from your food being delivered, there is no table service. If you want another beer, you have to get up and get in line again. They do have a dedicated line for to-go orders and beer, but still a pain. Sodas are self-refill as well. While The Stand is great for others, we didn't really see ourselves returning anytime soon. The fries were good... but that's all I had to say about them. I did like the onion rings so I'll probably try that as my side next time. I really want to try the falafel wrap next time.
