Food is good! Service is good & ambiance is country, western, and rustic like the name of the restaurant. Space is huge, they have live music, they offer brunch on the weekends. Variety of food, everything I ordered was good & I would order again. Meatballs were surprisingly so good. Normally meatballs are in red sauce but the rustic makes theirs with jalapeño jam so it is unique and worth trying! What I ordered: Texas tamales Smoked dip duo The rustic burger Caesar salad with chicken Twice baked potato Broccolini

Popped into The Rustic for a quick happy hour drink and a few bites! For cocktails, I tried an Espresso Martini and a Lemon Drop Martini. Because one martini is never enough during happy hour! Smoked Dip Duo - 3/5 This was definitely different! It comes with smoked brisket, spinach & cheddar fondue, cold pimento dip, and smoked salt potato chips. The flavor and even the texture were different from your traditional queso/dip. I think I would've enjoyed it more with tortilla chips instead of the potato chips, but I'm glad I tried it. Texas Tamales - 3.5/5 These weren't exactly what I pictured when I saw "tamales" on the menu. They're more like a stuffed/open-faced tamale situation. It's their jalapeño spoon bread topped with either smoked brisket and chipotle garlic queso or chicken tinga with cotija cheese. Definitely different, but the flavors were good! Overall, it was a nice little happy hour stop. The food had some creative Texas twists that I wasn't expecting. Some things worked better for me than others, but I'd definitely pop back in for drinks and try a few more things on the menu!

Came to this location for the first time this past Saturday for brunch. Located inside Uptown Park, I didn't have any trouble finding a parking spot close to the restaurant. Upon entering, there were a couple of staff members at the host stand. A man who completely ignored me and a lady who was on the phone so she couldn't help me. I waited a bit until the hostess got off the phone and I told her that my friend had a reservation. Gave her the name but she was having a hard time looking for it, so I finally simply texted my friend where they were seated and found them myself. Not sure if my friends chose to sit out in the patio area or if they had chosen to sit there. But as we were eating, the sun was beating down on us hard. So this wasn't a very fun experience for me. Especially for being here the first time. The foods were not bad. And our waitress was awesome because she was quick with everything. I wouldn't mind coming back again, but hopefully I'd have a much better experience than my first time.

The family style brunch at The Rustic is genius. We came with a group of 4 adults and 2 kids. Being able to try a bunch of different options in smaller portions was great, and it seemed like a communal dining experiencing with my party. We were sat in a large booth so there was plenty of room, and there was live music which was a great touch. I did not get any alcohol, but enjoyed the espresso martini I tried. I enjoyed everything we had, especially the fried chicken, bacon, and biscuits and gravy!

Worth repeating for sure. I was a tad disappointed that they didn't give our birthday girl anything. If they had, I'd have given them a 5 star

It was our first time here and we were delighted by the live performance, quick service and delicious food. Our server Logan was prompt and took great care of us. He answered all our questions and made sure to come back often to check up on us. Nice that he also helped us with our group photo. Loved the large onion rings, crab cakes, tamales and their meat dish options. I did wish the steak with cheese inside, didn't spill out on arrival.

The restaurant was nice and cozy on the inside. Staff were nice and we were seated promptly. We were offered the happy hour menu and ordered a few drinks off the menu to start off. Now nothing against our server because she was really nice. But the service was extremely slow for the restaurant being that empty on a Saturday. We ordered some appetizers which also took some time to make. The oysters were ok at best and the onion rings were actually really good! My wife ordered the salmon Caesar salad and I got the wild boar chili. I'm still not 100% sure why it took over 30 mins to get the food. On top of that, they over cooked my daughter's burger, forgot my chips that I had to ask for near the end of my meal. I probably won't be coming back to this restaurant but it was an experience to say the least.

I booked an event at The Rustic back in June of this year for this week. Originally was going to book the downtown location but they easily switched me to the Uptown location since it would be more convenient for our guests. We had 30 guests. Communication was excellent, Shea and Kristina helped me and then Ingrid took over once I moved the reservation. Tkoi was the ops manager who assisted once we were settled. Our party arrived right at 530pm, we booked a 3 hour event. We knew parking would be a challenge, so many people carpooled. Little did we know, there is a parking garage that is free and across the street. I might have missed that detail, if not, definitely recommend that instead of trying to find parking. I did valet for 8.00 which was not bad at all. We were seated inside right in front of the stage which was nice, the area was sectioned off, with about 6 picnic tables. We had 3 servers who took great care of us from start to finish. I selected Corn Hole as a game, which was an added cost but very reasonable. My guys loved this and it was also right in front of the open area. There was a performer that night but we could not hear that well. We mostly mingled and talked with our party anyway, the band was a nice touch behind the scenes. Food service was on time and plentiful, appetizers served at 545, meal at 615. It was plenty of food. The food: excellent! I selected wild boar meatballs, chicken tamales and cracklin deviled eggs. My favorite app was the chicken tamale. Very nice flavor with a little kick of spice. The meatballs were good too and so were the eggs. They were my least favorite. They kept the apps coming and we had food setup on each table along with drink service. My second favorite thing was the Texas fondue. It was nice and spicy too, the chips did not seem to be tortilla chips but they were good and crispy. The chicken and brisket tacos were very good. Chicken tinga was my favorite and everyone devoured them and the mushrooms were a surprise hit. Some of my party ordered off the menu as they stayed behind after our time was over. It was not crowded although it was a Thursday night. Our drink package included premium liquor, beer and wine and soft drinks. The house margarita was included, the package accommodated the group well. The giant beers were refreshing and they had a wide variety on tap. Only complaint: the restrooms did not have towels, they had dryers that shut off really quickly. Overall, I was very pleased with the communication throughout, the venue itself and the food and drinks. I would love to come back when I can actually listen to some music.

Have enjoyed Brunch Jam and dinner here. It's always fabulous - delicious food, tasty cocktails, and attentive service. I haven't tried happy hour yet but it's high on my list! The brunch - it's amazing! I bring my young adult kids and we always enjoy the full spread. It gives us time to talk, catch up, and eat great food. The variety is good and everyone finds things they really like.

I came for their brunch with a friend and for 2 people the family style is a great deal. There was nothing to rave about taste wise but it was decent. HOWEVER, I came recently for dinner and scoured the menu for at least 30 minutes for something to eat despite being starving. I wanted the harvest bowl which was listed for lunch and I was told could be made for dinner but apparently not. I knew better than to order a steak and the salads looked a bit sad on previous reviews. My friend ordered the smoked dip duo as an appetizer and despite the presentation the flavor was disappointing. He also got the filet with a side of fries. He ordered it med well and it came out way past well like a hockey puck. I decided to get the "spoon bread" thinking it would be moist corn bread but it is legitimately uncooked batter with a crust. I immediately asked to send it back without even trying it but the manager urged me to try it first. It tasted like boiled onions with the texture of baby food. They took it away and took it off of my check. They offered to get me something else but I had no faith in the kitchen. My drink (the grapefruit sour) was half decent though. The service is good and bathrooms are clean with plenty of parking. They have live music and when it's food it adds to the vibe but when it's bad... well it gives a layer of entertainment either way. Unfortunately the food is too much of a let down to even give 3 stars. I won't return.

Went for lunch with my boyfriend, first time for me. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. The food tasted great and trust me... the servings were more than any one person should eat in one sitting. The beers were cold and the atmosphere was open and airy. Not a real complaint but it was noisier than I expected. Fine for a date or out to lunch with friends but I would not try and hold a business lunch there is items were to be discussed.

Great live music with mellow 70s rock, friendly service, and a comfortable atmosphere. I usually come with a big group, and this visit was no different. The cedar plank salmon was a solid recommendation, and the spoon bread was delicious. I had the non‑alcoholic margarita since I was driving, and it was refreshing. Always a good time here.

I came here with my husband, 2 year old daughter , and 2friends. Our server was Erwin. Erwin was one of a kind! He offered suggestions and was super friendly! He was very attentive even when it got busy. We went on a Friday evening and there was an event going on. We got seated right away and got our food and drinks fast. Stopped by here with some friends and we absolutely loved it. Our waitress was so sweet and attentive, I would go back simply for her service. The manager, Jorge, personally came by our table to see how everything was going which is always a nice gesture. There is a big parking lot out front that was a big convenience factor. I was really hoping this place was going to be good. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The restaurant has a nice set up. The pizza brick oven brings in a great Italian rustic look. I came here with a group of friends for a late-night drink; this is a good place for that, particularly for their MASSIVE frozen margs! I enjoyed the glitzy barn-like atmosphere, with a stage for live music. The Rustic has a huge dining area (both indoor and outdoor seating I believe). I really liked my Legendary frozen marg; it was mango-flavored and came with a giant mango purée popsicle. I'd say it's the drink to order there! I liked the Rustic but it didn't score five stars with me because the service was really slow even when there weren't that many customers the night we went. My friend and I were seated close to the door when we walked in. We sat there for about 10 minutes before I went to the restroom. The place was not packed at all. Four of us just ate the brunch there. It was absolutely awful , the eggs were the best thing. The portions were ridiculous for the French toast that was to be split. Four ways was one piece of Texas toast, cutting small bite-size pieces. The potatoes had a horrible seasoning all over them and the little bitty dessert pieces were the size of your pinky fingernail the avocado toast, which I don't know how you can mess that up awful flavor we will never be back. read more

Disappointing service these last few visits. The third to last time my fiancé and I were here, we placed a pick up order of onion rings and a salad and it took them 30+ minutes to finish the salad after the estimated time of completion given when the order was placed (mind you, the onion rings were ready. It just took them an additional 30+ minutes to make a simple salad. It did not contain any cooked meats so I am not sure why putting together vegetables and a dressing would take so long unless they were growing the vegetables themselves ). The second to last time we were here (earlier this week), they declined to service us because we were not a part of the "hard rock". Thus, we drove during rush hour traffic in Houston just to be stopped and rejected at the door because they were rented out for the day. We visited again today (Sunday) and were sat at a booth at 3:47pm. 10-15 minutes into our wait, one of the waitresses (we were clearly not part of her section. She just asked because she saw us waiting and without drinks/food) asked if we were helped. We said no and then she took our drink order and went to get someone to assist us for the remainder of our visit. It took a whole 20 minutes for our waitress, Jessika, to greet us. After clearly finishing our drinks, Jessika proceeded to walk by our table 3 times to assist the tables next to us without acknowledging that we were done or ask if we needed the check. Once the check was brought to us, I immediately put my card down (in front of her and while she was still at our table) since I knew she had been ignoring us (whether intentionally or not intentionally) and I was tired of the service and wanted to leave as soon as possible. She reached across our table to take an empty glass and not the card that was placed on top of the check and left. Lackluster and slow service. Highly doubt that we will be back unless something changes or they rectify their mistakes. read more

The food is always on point here. Highly recommend the french dip and the cheese quesso with brisket. One small opportunity for improvement: Had lunch here yesterday and wanted the soup and half sandwich but asked for the french dip instead of the other offerings from the menu. I asked our waitress if they could do that, and the answer from the kitchen was "no." Had they said; 'Sure, but we have to uncharge you $4" that would have been fine. I did not deduct a star for that because our awesome server Ava more than made up for this slight inconvenience. Ava was friendly, never let my tea go beyond half empty, and seemed to genuinely enjoy what she was doing. Also, 5 stars for her smile! Great job Rustic - in your food execution and in hiring practices(10 stars for Ava). read more

Very large restaurant with a very interesting menu they have new system when you push the button that with the Photo menu. the waiter is supposed to come to your table !!meal brisket on top of hamburger and other ingredients was good the avocado salad was good Portabella mushroom was good twice baked potato was just OK this is a Sport bar type food restaurant moderately priced seem to be very busy the waiter was very good he was training someone if you're in the neighborhood and want something like a hamburger or salad or sandwich With a new twist this would be an OK place to go read more

The atmosphere of this location is really impressive I enjoy how they were able to use the name of the restaurant to show what they are in a classy way it's rustic but classy. The live bands are really cool to hang out have a cocktail eat dinner. Definitely go back. to me it's not a daily place to go eat but definitely a good first date read more

A great atmosphere! Fun place, good food and anytime you can crash a Roger Clemens birthday party, it's worth it! Highly recommend. Waiting over :20 minutes for a refill while the staff stands around talking to themselves. Only after I finished eating was I asked if I wanted a refill or my check. Clearly management is more focused on watering the plants than customer service, yet my check gives me options for greater tips. Not sure why. Pass on this place until management decides to teach staff what customer service is. read more

What an experience. The environment was great, the customer service was amazing, the drinks were "on point" and the food was delicious (especially their pickles)!! Everyone was following the Covid-19 safety guidelines too ( this makes me so happy)! The best part about my visit was the amazing gentlemen w/the sunglasses who brings out the food! It was my first time at The Rustic last night, and it does not disappoint. Great food, great drinks, great vibe and above and beyond service from Mia. She was checking on us all of the time (but not in an annoying way), made awesome suggestions, and really knew her stuff! Super personable. Love the market lighting in this place! It kind of feels like you're outside even though you aren't. Rodell Duff was the artist last night as well, and he was incredible! High recommend! PS If Mia's manager is seeing this, she definitely deserves a promotion! As an employment recruiter, she's a hard employee to come by! read more

It's was okay, they have a wide collection for drinks( alcoholic), but not so much for entrees, we got the rustic burger ( which was great) which you can get anywhere... Then there was the pecan Sea Bass, I had to say, there was no salt and no pepper, they just rolled it in pecans and baked it. Then the potato chips and queso dip was fabulous!!! That was amazing! Is it just me..... but where is the flavor The past 2 times I've come to this location the food was very blahhh or bland. Please don't get me wrong, because the of the ambience, music and drinks I'll still come here but maybe only for the drinks . I have not tried the desserts so maybe this will help to fill me up too. I was somewhat expecting dense, oily, boring fries, but these were very crisp and somehow didn't feel too greasy as far as fries goes. Almost seemed like an injustice for it to be served with ketchup as it was too good for it. Lastly, the tart was a great way to end the meal without it being too much. Loved the crust. The tart shell tasted really good and went well with the filling, which had a lighter consistency than pudding. Fruits tasted like they were on season, even though it should be a bit too late for strawberries. I'm also a sucker for meringue. My bf told me to give grace since it was the day after a holiday and everybody tired. Lol. However, the food made up for it. Everything came out smoking hot. I got the catfish with etouffe with Mac and yams. Its was awesome. My bf got the pasta and whatever that sausage they use is wonderful. I would definitely return.

Thumbs Up: As an added bonus, it's always entertaining to hear some of my neighbors complain about the "noise pollution" during HOA meetings. Living Downtown comes with unique advantages and occasional inconveniences. If someone can't tolerate city life, they may be happier living in the suburb provinces. Thumbs Down: Access to the rooftop is sometimes restricted during seasonal events and special art installations. I understand the need for ticketed events, but I wish general access to the public spaces could remain available whenever practical. Thumbs Down: I am able-bodied, but I couldn't help noticing that rooftop access appears difficult for visitors who use wheelchairs or have mobility impairments. The elevators are not easy to locate, and several were out of service during my many visits. Improving accessibility would make this space more welcoming for everyone.

They host an array of events and activities (some are free, while others are ticketed). Events and activities include live music, DJs, yoga, Zumba, and seasonal events like Winter Wonderlawn during Christmas and Lunar New Year. There are seven gardens which take up about an acre. There's signs throughout the lawn that explain the different gardens and various spaces. Sky Farm is operated by Blackwood Educational Land Institute and they focus on regenerative agriculture and cultivation of food. The Outpost can be rented for events. Yelp Houston has hosted some events at the Outpost in the past. During the summer, it gets very hot! They have quite a few covered/shaded areas and there's vendors throughout if you need water or a beverage. There's lots of seating too (both covered and uncovered). A visit to Post Houston isn't complete without making the trek up to Skylawn! The views alone are worth it!

Hands down, the worst dinning experience we've ever had. After initial greet, it took our server Alex?(who knows, I've spent more time writing this than he did at our table) 25 min to come back to take our order for the starters. 30 min later, starters come out, we ate them and finished. We sat there for 25 min. Our sever pops up to take our mains(45 min since the last time we saw him). 40 min after this point, he brings out our steak knives... food hits the table shortly after. Things look like they are about to take a turn for the better. Psych. No forks. We sat there for 10 min waiting for someone to notice us trying to get a hold of someone. Another 5 min go by... At this point, our of sheer frustration, I pushed our side plate with our steak knives off the table in hopes of someone hearing it. 4 min go by and someone finally appears. They get us forks. Server pops back up after 20 min to take an empty glass off table. By the time we got our forks, Food is cold ( I would have been happy with warm at this point). We got up and left. Won't ever be returning to this place. Bummer, we were so excited to finally have a date night where we could check it out. Oh well. Whataburger it is. read more

We stopped by The Rustic near Post Oak for brunch and had a fantastic experience. We decided to go with the Family Style Spread, which was perfect for sharing and packed with delicious flavors. Every item we tried was great. We also ordered the Hot Chicken Sandwich, and it was absolutely worth it--crispy, flavorful, and very satisfying. The atmosphere is one of the highlights of this place. It's lively, welcoming, and perfect for gathering with friends or family. The live music adds a great energy to the space without making it hard to have a conversation. My friend suggested this location, and it was our first time dining here. The experience was absolutely outstanding! To begin with, Jose, our waiter showed great patience for me, while I waited for my friend to arrive (an hour later). I also have food allergies and he was kind enough to bring a young lady out, Morgan to confirm which foods didn't have dairy. She was also patient and showed terrific professionalism while explaining. My friend and I order drinks and appetizers first, and just enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant while we waited for our meals. One of our glasses were dirty, and Marshall (Store manager) brought another glass out on the house. The staff was great, food and drinks, delicious, and the afternoon atmosphere just beyond exceptional. I would recommend this place to anyone. I also would hope to have Jose as our waiter again. We came to The Rustic for a birthday celebration. To begin, Nevaeh was amazing. She was very accommodating when I called to make reservations for 16. I had to call back to change our reservations and she was a joy to work with. Thank you, Nevaeh, for being so helpful. The food was delicious. We had the smoked queso as an appetizer and it did not disappoint. Our main course was perfect, too!! The service was top notch! Erwin and Tina excelled in their ability to keep our large group happy. No one in our group ever needed to wait long for anything. They were on top of everything - drinks, food, special requests, etc. They even brought out a special dessert for my brother's birthday. This was too sweet! An extra bonus - Happy Hour was from 3:00-6:00. They had $5 Frozen drinks. In addition, there were some live performances that began at 4:00. We went to The Rustic last minute to grab drinks with a friend and decided to share a meal since we were slightly hungry. We had their signature burger and cactus fries which were awesome! Our server was Julieanne and she was great! Have us recommendations as it was our first time and prompt service! We're in our late 30's so we really enjoyed the music that evening, which they were playing a lot of 90's and 2000's rock and even some in Spanish with Alejandro Joel Miramontes. Nothing like being taken back to your youth. We were suppose to only enjoy maybe 2 hours but we stayed till close because we enjoyed everything, the drinks, food, service and music. We had closed out our tab at one point and asked for more drinks from Davion as he passed by and really appreciated his prompt service. We will be back when we can catch another date night kids free. Went to The Rustic tonight for my friend's birthday dinner, and it ended up being a really fun spot for a large group. The environment is exactly what you'd expect from a Texas-friendly place--lively, casual, and welcoming. The live music and outdoor area added such a nice touch, and the staff was warm and accommodating. It's definitely a great place for groups or families to hang out and enjoy the atmosphere. As for the food, we tried the onion ring appetizer, the ribeye, and the French dip. Unfortunately, the flavors fell flat--pretty bland overall, and I wouldn't order the steak or French dip again. I am from out of state and stopped in at The Rustic after a long day my husband and friend and I had the best service! If you ever come here you have to try the smoked dip duo and request BRIANNA as your server! She gave amazing menu suggestions and was very much on point! Our food and modifications all came out perfectly! The drinks were amazing we had a margarita on the rocks and espresso martinis! There are tons of more healthy, gluten-free, and vegan options as well as delicious savory dishes! Every plate in the dining hall looked delicious! The food, the service, the ambiance. Everything is perfect here. This is one of the best brunch spots in Houston. $18 and you get a wonderful assortment of foods from sweet to savory. It's a lovely blend of so many different foods. We did the pitcher of Bellini and it was amazing. They don't skimp on the vodka which is always appreciated. The live music was great, not too loud which is a problem I run into. It was a great way to spend my Sunday morning. And Paola our server was incredible. She was so sweet, quick to get us everything. She noticed me fishing the peaches out of my Bellini so she literally brought me a glass of more peach slices. I will absolutely be back for another brunch. Overall, we had a good experience and enjoyed our evening! First, parking was easy with valet for only $6, and we were greeted as soon as we walked in. The restaurant has an interesting layout. The front has a lively bar area with a more casual/upscale mix of guests, while the back opens into several beautiful dining rooms that feel more intimate and upscale. We sat in the middle room, which had a large TV playing the Texans game -- a nice touch! The ambiance was definitely one of my favorite things. The service was good, too. Our waitress was knowledgeable, quick and attentive. She wasn't overly bubbly, but she did her job well. She could have added a little more umph! We did the four-course Houston Restaurant Week menu. Starters: The rock shrimp were really good, with a nice sauce. The meatball was just okay. It came out piping hot, although the center was a little lukewarm. Salads: Both salads were good, although I would have liked a little more Caesar dressing on mine, and the traditional salad could have used a little more bacon. Entrées: I ordered the salmon with potatoes instead of cauliflower rice. The salmon was cooked perfectly medium, but it could have used more seasoning. The potatoes were good. The Mister ordered the steak and potatoes, and even though I don't eat steak, that steak was GOOD! It was flavorful and a nice size. There is an additional charge if you upgrade to the 14-ounce steak instead of the 6-ounce filet included with the Houston Restaurant Week menu, but he said it was worth it. Now let's talk about DESSERT! This was definitely the highlight of the meal for me! The butter cake was AMAZING, and that warm skillet cookie with ice cream? SUPERB! The cookie was soft, warm and absolutely delicious. Dessert definitely stole the show! For drinks, my lemon drop was just okay -- a little too much vodka and not enough lemon for my taste. The Mister enjoyed his drink, though, and said it was strong and good. We also checked out the regular menu prices, and they're pretty much what you'd expect from a steakhouse -- definitely on the pricier side, but not out of the ordinary. Overall: We had a good experience at King's Steak. Nothing was bad, and there were definitely some standout moments (especially that dessert and steak!). Would we go back? We're both sitting somewhere in the maybe/maybe not category. But if you're in the Galleria area and haven't tried King's Steak, I'd say give it a try and decide for yourself!

Unfortunately, what happened while we were waiting for valet completely changed how I feel about this place and is the reason I will not return. While we were waiting for my car to be brought around, my friend and I were outside talking and leaning against her Bentley SUV. A security guard came outside and, in front of everyone waiting for valet as well as people dining outside, loudly told us that we needed to get off the vehicle because we were leaning on someone else's car. I immediately explained to him that it was my friend's car. Instead of simply acknowledging the misunderstanding and moving on, he responded that "it happens all the time" and continued going back and forth with me. I again explained that this was HER vehicle and that we were obviously not going to randomly lean against a stranger's car. What bothered me most was the assumption in the first place and the way the situation was handled publicly. We were two Black women standing beside an expensive vehicle, and I cannot say what motivated his assumption, but I absolutely walked away questioning why he was so confident that the vehicle could not possibly belong to one of us. There was no initial question such as, "Is this your vehicle?" Instead, we were publicly approached as though it had already been decided that it wasn't ours. That was embarrassing, unnecessary, and incredibly uncomfortable. Mistakes happen. Had he simply said, "My apologies, I didn't realize it was your vehicle," that probably would have been the end of it. Instead, he chose to argue and justify the assumption after being told that the car belonged to my friend, which made an already uncomfortable situation significantly worse. People should not have to prove that they belong somewhere, that they own what they own, or that they can afford something simply because of how they look, their gender, or someone else's preconceived idea of who "looks like" they should own a certain vehicle. It is unfortunate because we genuinely enjoyed the dinner, the food, and the atmosphere inside. But customer service does not end when someone walks out the restaurant door. The valet and security experience is still part of the overall experience, and this one left such a negative impression that I will not return to this location. I hope management addresses this with their security and valet teams. A simple question before making an assumption, and basic respect after realizing that assumption was wrong, would have made all the difference.
