This is a very pretty restaurant to take a special person to or to just meet a friend. The food is always very good, and they will normally permit substitutions (vegetables, fries, etc.) - basically "they aim to please". Met a friend here for lunch and there's always room on a weekday for lunch - the restaurant does fill up in the evenings and on weekends. The server was very pleasant and accommodating with a change order. We just had standard fare today, the burger with fries and the turkey club. Also, a cappuccino. Very reasonably priced for lunch. A leisurely lunch and we sat around for another 15 minutes. Food came out in about 10 minutes time. Easy to get here - just inside the loop on San Felipe. Valet parking is $5 - you could park yourself, but it is a long walk.

Came here for a company lunch and was really impressed with everything from the decor, to the service, to the food. Started out with the shrimp and crab tower, had the salmon as my entree, and tres leches for dessert. I would absolutely come back for any future events.

Ordered the fish tacos. They were delicious. Service was friendly and quick. Interior was very nice, tables spaced for easy conversation. Parking was tight but $5 valet is available.

I came to celebrate my birthday/Christmas with a friend. We've both passed by here a million times (though I thought it was called Elvie's table and she thought it was Eunice due to the cursive letters lol) so we finally stopped in. The place was cute and cozy in the lobby. The main dining room is one big room and it seems like it used to be a house. They had a pianist playing seasonal music (and later happy birthday for me :). Rey have an assortment of complementary bread that was unfortunately the best thing we ate all night. We asked for more and took 3 waiters to finally bring it. The menu sounds super exciting but the pictures left a bit to be desired and the flavor did as well. We dined toast style from their small plates and nothing was mentionably good. The calamari was oddly thick and cut into squares which made me wonder if it was really calamari. The oysters Rockefeller were left uneaten after trying one each. The crab cakes also disappointed. My friend did like her edge salad though. They brought a slice of cake for my birthday that was good. Overall it was disappointing. They have free parking in front of San Faldo's or valet is $5

I hosted my annual Galentine's Brunch here this year and it was a success! I highly recommend reserving Cooper's Bin for privacy. They allowed me to bring my speaker and play the music that I wanted and also to decorate. Management was very communicative and helped me create my own menu. I would absolutely come back with my family and friends for brunch!

Cute little restaurant, kind of hidden in a sense. They have valet which is $10. Came here for an early dinner so it wasn't crowded at all! John was our server and he was amazing. I had the American Angus beef burger cooked a medium no complaints there. The Greek salad is also pictured. I did not try it, but it looked delicious. Loved my blueberry lemon drop martini.

I love coming here. It has been awhile since I was here last. The food is always Awesome. I got the grilled-10-oz-rib-eye and my fried got the herb crusted sea scallops and shrimp with salmon roe. Everything was perfectly cooked. Ten stars.

Came here for a work meeting. There's valet service for $5 at the front. The service was wonderful, food was decent and the ambiance was nice.

I was excited to try Ouisie's Table for Houston Restaurant Weeks, especially when I saw the $39 dinner menu featuring a crab cake appetizer. Despite some reviews about forced valet parking, we had no issues and were able to park ourselves and walk to the restaurant. The ambiance had an older, more traditional feel compared to the fun atmosphere I was expecting given its proximity to the Galleria. I think I was probably the youngest diner there. The meal started with three types of muffins--cornbread and jalapeño cheddar being the BEST. I shamelessly ate six of them, and the waitstaff happily kept them coming! For the appetizer, I ordered for the crab cake. While the portion was decent, the flavor didn't stand out, and the corn pairing did not help. My main course was the beef tenderloin with vegetables and au gratin potatoes. It was simple and straightforward, but nothing memorable. The potatoes were my favorite part of the dish, though they could have been cooked a little longer for a softer texture and more browning on top as you would expect with au gratin potatoes. Overall, the service was excellent, but the simplicity of the food just wasn't for me. Can I get those muffins to go?

Ouisie's never disappoints. I have been a few times and the latest was for a baby shower in the large banquet room. Great food, great service and beautifully decorated. Valet parking is available and recommended since spaces are very limited.

It's a blessing now when you walk into a restaurant and the table conversations are not competing with the music. Seems to be a trend in Houston and Ouisie's is not the case ! Great food - reasonable price and killer service !Keep up the great work !!!

Wow! What a brunch! We were so incredibly surprised by everything at Ouisie's! My husband and I went for brunch as we are looking for a place to host our daughter's baby shower. We are very picky eaters. Everything was perfect! It really isn't like us to both say that. We already texted all of our friends and plan on bringing our out of town guests! All I can say is give Ouisie's a try. You won't be disappointed! Valet is $5 and not mandatory.

First, we got there pretty early for our reservation. We sat almost immediately upon check in. Our waiter was in training but did a really good job. Ordered a whiskey sour. Was seated at the bar so I got to watch it be made. The bartender- man that guy never stopped. He was organized and just did his thing. So many pretty drinks were made while I was there watching. The pink one, whatever it was, was really pretty! On to the food. We got two apps, two meals, and two desserts. Husband ordered the Brussels, Steak Frites, and the Devil's Affogato. I got the Bacon covered Dates, the Pizza, and the Sticky Toffee Cake. The Brussels were good - husband liked them more than me. They were good. Had cashews in them. Little spicy. The bacon covered dates. Think this was my favorite bite. Sweet, salty, creamy. Came we three & I had two. The pizza was sweet and salty as well. The crust was so good and fresh. The arugula set it off so well. Def a buy again! The Steak Frites was so good. The chimichurri sauce was perfect. Just the right mount of citrus. Steak was tender and the fries seasoned well. The desserts - don't skip them! The Devils Affogato we had the first time we ate at Sixty Vines. Had to have it again. If you like coffee, chocolate and vanilla ice cream just get it. Restaurant vibe is relaxed and clean. There were several large parties and what looked like a lot of date night guests. Just try it. No regrets!!

Unfortunately, just like my first visit, they were not fully met. We had reservations for brunch, and our party of six was seated immediately on the beautiful second floor. Service was efficient throughout the meal, with our waiter taking our orders promptly and the food arriving quickly. To start, we ordered the Brussels and the hummus. The Brussels were cooked very well and had an excellent crispy texture, but I felt the kung pao vinaigrette lacked the bold flavor I was expecting. A little more sweetness and acidity would have helped brighten the dish and make it more memorable. The hummus, on the other hand, pleasantly surprised me. Both the red beet hummus and edamame hummus were flavorful and enjoyable. They paired well with the crisp flatbread and even served as a nice accompaniment to some of our less exciting entrées. For my meal, I ordered the marinated artichoke pizza, which unfortunately did not stand out. I had the same issue that I experienced during my previous visit: the crust was simply too thick and chewy. After a few slices, my jaw was genuinely getting tired from all the chewing. The pizza also could have benefited from more bacon and a more generous amount of sauce, as it came across a bit dry overall. The campanelle suffered from a similar problem. While I understand that simplicity was likely the goal, the dish was so understated that it ended up feeling bland. It tasted like a slightly elevated version of buttered pasta with just a hint of white wine. There was nothing particularly wrong with it, but it lacked the depth of flavor needed to make it memorable. On a much more positive note, the carrot cake pancakes were easily the star of the meal. I tend to gravitate toward savory breakfasts, but my sister was eager to try them, and I am so glad she did. These were not your typical pancakes. They were thick, fluffy, and incredibly soft in the center. With toppings like maple butter, maple cream, mascarpone whip, candied walnuts, and cardamom sugar, I expected the dish to be overwhelmingly sweet. Surprisingly, everything was balanced quite well. While I cannot imagine finishing an entire plate by myself, anyone with a sweet tooth would absolutely love them. Overall, this restaurant continues to impress me with its atmosphere, service, and a few standout dishes, but the entrées I have tried have not lived up to the hype. If I were to return, I would happily order the hummus and carrot cake pancakes again, but I would probably skip the pizza and pasta in favor of trying something new.

I might have just found one of my new favorite restaurants in Houston. What a great experience!…read more Recently, a good friend dined here and immediately called me to tell me how great it was. She then text our friends group and said we all had to come together and we did just that. She made reservations in advance as this place is popular thanks to recent Michelin Bib Gourmand awards as well as many other accolades. Walk ins are welcome as well. Our reservation was later in the evening so after a night of bar hopping, we ride shared in which I think is one of the best options as parking is limited here or you have to find street parking in the neighborhood. This place is literally a house turned into a restaurant. Inside is just multiple rooms with a couple of tables. It makes for a unique, intimate dining experience, perfect for a date night. In our case, we were a group of nine so we got patio seating. The patio is spacious and well kept, and if the weather cooperates, a great place to hang. One thing that really stood out to me is the amazing ambience of this place. I was told that the bartenders pick the music for the night from the owners extensive vinyl collection. Once the album is in, they play it in it's entirety. The sound system was systeming and on top of the great company and food, we were totally vibing with the music. Customer service was amazing. Every staff member we came across was so friendly, especially our server. The menu here changes. There are some mainstays, but they like to change things up. Their website shows current menus daily. We were told that family style is the best way to experience this restaurant. I am one of those people that will always listen to the staff and go with their suggestions. Our group went through quite a bit of their menu from apps, entrees and desserts. I loved that our server and staff brought our food out one by one in what they thought was the best progression so we could take a culinary journey. We started off light with their popular Dilly Bread. Best bread I've had in awhile. Next was the Texas Tartare. It was my first ever tartare and it was delicious. We then moved on to Fingerlingin Good which was a crispy potato dish with chili crisp and mascarpone. It was potatoes elevated to the highest level and so so good. Next up was Beer Battered Sweet Tots. I didn't think sweet potatoes could be that good. Our first entree was a vegan dish called the Carroty Kid. I could seriously become a vegan if all dishes tasted like this. It was curried. A bowl of jasmine rice would've made it a complete meal. Next we tried another famous Nobie's dish called Nonno's Pasta. Handmade, perfectly cooked tagliatelle with a delicious bolognese. I wouldn't share this next time. Ok, I will, but it was that good. On to the heavier dishes. First up was the Jamon With Your Bad Self. This came highly recommended and it did not disappoint. It was favorite heavy entree. It was high quality, iberico pork steak with shaved brussels and all kinds of other tasty ingredients that when combined made such a tasty bite. We then went to the sea with the Drops of Grouperter. It was good, but not something I would order again. It was a little too smoky for my liking. Our biggest dish that came market priced was the Kick His Ass Seabass. This was a whole fish that was presented beautifully on a platter with all the accouterments to make your own elevated fish tacos. We left no morsel of fish behind. It was absolutely delicious. One of the things this place is really known for is their pies. This was the part I was most excited about. Just like their menu, their pies change up. We got all their offerings that night which they presented on one big platter of goodness. Their main stay and I believe always on the menu is the famous Olive Oil Cake. It's not a pie, but I can see why this is such a popular dessert. I can't even describe it, you just have to try it to understand. The pies we had were the Black Bottom Strawberry Pie, Banana Rum, and the Peanut Butter Pie. I would order all of them again. We all had a difference of opinion on which was the best, but my fave was the Banana Rum. Overall, I was highly impressed with this place and kind of mad at myself for waiting so long to make it here. It had made it's way to the top of my list of favorite restaurants in Houston. I will be back.

The standout for me was the charbroiled oysters. I usually don't enjoy charbroiled oysters, but these were excellent and completely changed my expectations. Great dessert selection. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for something a little different with bold flavors and a well-rounded menu.

Bottom line is that Milton's should be your go to place for just good old Italian fare but in an upscale but not stuffy atmosphere. Mark Sayre - the restaurant groups beverage director hosted the charity dinner for my wife and I and 4 other guests. We were served 9 courses family style including a couple of cold plates, a couple of salads, a couple of pastas and a couple of entrees along with a dessert. Everything was fantastic and Mark did a great job of hosting and explaining the wine pairings. The best of the apps was the Sicilian Tar tar. Tuna, scallop and salmon perfectly marinated on crostinis. The Hearts of Palm Salad was excellent, and they are definitely sharable, probably made for 3 - 4 guests to share. Of the two pastas the Cresta De Gallo stood out the most, but the Bolognese was also virtually perfect. Of the two entrees we enjoyed the Chicken Piccata slightly more than the Hanger Steak. On our second visit, Ryan was our server. He had been our server at Underbelly, One Fifth and Georgia James in the past and remembered us immediately and was a wonderful host for the meal. This time the table enjoyed the Chargrilled Oysters and the Parsley Salad to start. We also sampled 4 pastas - The Cresta De Gallo again, the Chitarra with Scallops and Uni, the Lumache with Vodka Sauce and the Sourdough Tagliatelle. All were fantastic. My personal favorite was the Chitarra. In the end we finished off all 4 so no leftovers. We then shared the Chicken Piccata as our only entree. This dish is so good. Juicy Chicken, flavorful sauce, and the Sourdough Tagliatelle was the perfect accompaniment. We also enjoyed two desserts - The Budino (which is more like a chocolate tort than a pudding) and the Tiramisu. Both wonderful. If Milton's wasn't over an hour from our house, it would become a regular on the rotation. But it is definitely good enough to warrant many return visits.

The team behind the popular restaurant Nobie's opened up this tiki inspired restaurant. Tiki bars happen to be one of my favorite varieties of bars so I was more than excited to finally check it off my list. I had recently seen them on the Food Network as well. They share a lot with another popular dining spot so parking can be a little difficult in their lot. You can find street parking or park across the street in an overflow lot. Customer service was great from start to finish. We had just ate next door and our intentions were to come in here just for cocktails, but I couldn't leave without trying some of the popular items. I wanted the most tropical drink I could find on the menu so I started off with the Blue Hawaiian. I saw fire on the description so my extra self needed to have it. I'm a big rum guy so this drink was right up my alley and very boozy with two types of rum. It was very coconut forward with pineapple being the secondary flavor. One was enough for me to feel just right. Since we had just ate, we decided to share the World Famous Cheeseburger. This was a great burger. I don't know if they were going for the smash effect, but it had smash burger characteristics. It had all my favorite things that are musts on a burger like American cheese and red onions. It also had a very nice chili aioli that added great flavor to the burger. I came on another stop for a drink visit shortly after and tried the pork dumplings and popcorn chicken. These were also very good. If I lived in the area, this place would easily be a place I would frequent often. I will most definitely be back!

Is this the most overrated restaurant in Houston?…read more After being on my "To Try" list for an unacceptable amount of time, I finally made my way over to Nancy's Hustle. I was lucky enough to snag a seat at the bar with no reservation. I arrived about 30 minutes into open and there was already a wait list. I suggest getting there early or making a reservation if you're not a solo diner. The interior is nice and intimate, with low lighting that doesn't work well for photos but definitely for a cozy dinner. The set up and music reminded me a little bit of 93 Til due to the decor. I started with the duck dumplings and the Nancy cakes. I wasn't expecting it but they offer half orders which is great for a solo diner who wants to try multiple things. Both items were delicious. The dumplings had a nice savory sauce with some texture from the peanuts. These were great but probably my bottom of the list which is saying something. I would only say this because they reminded me a lot of the hot oil wontons from duck and bao so at that price point, you might as well get more. The Nancy cakes were pillowy and savory and made a great vessel for honey butter and roe. I even used a bit to dunk into the leftover dumpling sauce. I suggest eating these as soon as they hit your table. I was trying to savor my bites but the cakes benefit a lot from being nice and hot. It's not the most ground breaking dish in the world but it's done well and I would definitely call it a must order. I could have eating a full order of it alone. My main dishes is where my mind was blown. I went with the roast chicken and half order of the gem lettuce salad and fries. This might be the best roast chicken I've ever had in Houston. Chicken can be a hit or a miss because sometimes, there just isn't much flavor. This was absolutely not the case here. The chicken was juicy and seasoned to the core. It even heated up well as left overs without being dry. The chili sauce on the bottom was flavor intensified and as I swiped my chicken through the pools of sauce, I thought to myself "overrated where?!". The gem salad caught me by surprise. I'm not one to stay away from a salad at a restaurant because they typically do them better than you can make at home . Nancy's Hustle solidified this opinion. The salad was wonderfully briney and savory. The lettuce was crisp and covered in the herby shallot dressing that grabbed my taste buds. Topped with anchovies and pancetta for a nice salty touch. So so good. The fries were the perfect side, crisp and not too potatoey (yes this is a thing). I traded in the aoli for some ketchup because that's just my thing. I concluded this wonderful dining experience with a dessert. Buttermilk ice cream with cornflakes, black berries and honey butter cookie. This dessert was a lesson in balance. Every component was present , sweet, salty, crunchy, cool. Each bite had something new to offer and combined into a perfectly executed dessert. As a cocktail, I tried their tropical drink. I don't remember what it was called but I know I could have drank about 7 of those. This was a great dining experience. I think when things get popular, sometimes we feel the need to be contrarians with our experiences. That wasn't the case for me. Nancy's Hustle has earned its popularity and I'll definitely be back

I apologize for the low quality pictures but, everything was so good I couldn't wait to eat…read more Nancy cakes are a MUST TRY! The ricotta cavatelli was light and zesty and the shrimp was cooked to perfection. A phenomenal spring/ summer pasta parmesan & pancetta croquettes were crisp to perfection and are a must try if you're a cheese lover like me. Not pictured was their cocktail the green flag which was a 10/10! Service was out of this world. Our waitress was so kind and gave great recommendations! We got seated out in the patio and they have fans they can bring to the table if it gets too hot in this Houston heat but, the vibes were perfect for date night once the sun went down and the small table lamp turned on.

The front hostess, Annabella, was incredibly welcoming and helpful, making us feel valued from the start. Our waiter was equally amazing and attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely dedicated to ensuring we had a wonderful evening. We started with the deviled eggs and crab beignets, both of which were absolutely delicious. Their French onion soup was hearty. Drinks were fabulous too. For our meal, we ordered the mashed potatoes, cacio e pepe, pork schnitzel, blackened fish, miso fish, and burger, and every dish was perfectly prepared and packed with flavor. The restaurant went above and beyond by surprising my mother-in-law with a birthday dessert (upon my request when I had originally booked it), which was such a thoughtful touch and made the celebration even more memorable. We also enjoyed the pecan ball and chocolate soufflé, and both were outstanding. Between the incredible food, impeccable service, and special attention to our celebration, State of Grace exceeded all expectations. Annabella, our waiter, and the entire staff made the evening feel truly special. Easily one of the best dining experiences we've had in Houston, and we can't wait to return! I will be planning a girls night there soon!

Sigh. Let me start by saying, I fell for the social media hype. I came here to try "the best…read morepancakes in Houston" and I didn't leave here feeling like I got that. Maybe my expectations were too high, but one of my pancakes was under cooked. The others were still just average to me in terms of flavor AND texture. But, I'm a "crispy edges" pancake kinda of person, and these definitely don't hit that mark. Now my eggs and bacon were fantastic, but those are two breakfast staples that are kind of hard to mess up. Now the service?! Oh my, the service was amazinggggggg. I sat at the bar and I felt like I had the entire bar staff catering to me. They definitely excel in that regard!!! Constantly checking in, glass always stayed full, and anything I requested came with a quickness. My griddle cakes, bacon, eggs, and a glass of bubbles came to $47, which is super expensive for breakfast. The price tag just isn't worth it for me to try again, honestly. But I'm glad I came! Their menu is very, VERY limited, so if you're a picky eater you may want to check their offerings first before venturing here.
