On this adventure, I find myself in Cibola at the "Rooted Fork". I try not to be overly critical about a place but this restaurant has nothing to worry about. Because the breakfast they served was by far one of the best, the flavor was delicious, the presentation was excellent. But let's start from the beginning, the restaurant is situated in an older home and that character gives this place an inviting warmth. As you walk in you see the menu above the counter and a good amount of seating. The person behind the counter was very helpful and answered all questions about the menu. The item I chose was the "Steakhouse Forky" and that was absolutely delicious. The steak was wonderfully prepared it was probably one of the best breakfast I've had in a while, the cheese and various vegetables mixed in were a delicious combination and it paired wonderfully with the tater tots. I accompanied my meal with a cup of coffee and it too was skillfully prepared, good aroma and taste. Overall this place is very good. The people that keep this place going were wonderful and cordial, bringing the right amount of coffee and all with a wonderful atmosphere.

Great food. Great prices. Friendly staff. You order at the counter. They give you a number. You find your seat. They bring out your food. They have inside and outside seating. There is a drink station. They give you your mug with coffee that the counter, but you can get refills at the drink station I ordered the sesame ginger salad. It came with shrimp and avocado. The salad was so good. It did get kind of spicy towards the end due to the ginger, but definitely a great choice. It was big and the salad had enough shrimp. The salad was not drowned in the dressing. It had just enough of the dressing. Parking is available on site.

I normally enjoy a great meal at The Rooted Fork but not so much today. My GFs Cobb Salad had wilted Lettuce which was not chopped. My Turkey Bacon Ranch had tomato slices from the end of a tomato, Turkey was neither seasoned or roasted, the bacon was not crisp and the chips were stale. Better luck next time. NOTE : To Rooted Forks credit, they did offer to make a sandwich to go.

The food was plentiful and served hot! The wait staff was out making sure service, once the food was served, was just as hardy and very reasonable priced. The resturant in in a converted house with inside and outside seating on the deck and in the front yard. Cibola TX historical presence is that it is the end of the traill for buffalo. The resturant is within walking distance of Old downtown!

Right out of the gate a turn off. Menu states upcharge on all non cash purchases. (.50). Entrees are basic breakfast fare: Eggs, "protiens", potatoes, etc. Anything you add is a $4.00 upcharge to the entree. Cup of coffee $3.64 Walk-up service, indoor and outdoor seating. No waitstaff, just kitchen and bussing staff. Food prep protocols and cleanliness are marginal. Sticky tables, dirty condiment bottles, empty salt and pepper shakers. Food: Arrived hot, good portions, about a 15 min return from order. Tasty, thank goodness. Patrons are mostly young and military families with kids when we were there. Music is lo-fi rap inside. Inside dining on a Sat is peppered with exuberant young children. So go early or later or opt for the front lawn dining tables. 2 people , coffee and entrees. No opt out on a demanded tip at the register that was EASILY visible. $53.09 FOR BREAKFAST. That's our one meal out for the weekend, within a budget. Stop in, judge for yourselves. Bring cash.

One of the best things about Cibolo! The Rooted Fork is the city's favorite brunch spot. The pancakes are great and we love their breakfast nacho place. But have you heard? They are now open for dinner! I had their chicken fried steak, and it was fantastic! The restaurant is seat yourself. There's plenty of room inside and they have really nice patio and lawn seating as well.

This is a great breakfast place in Cibolo. We come here once in a while to eat breakfast. I always have the eggs Beni.

Not many options in Cibolo. But I'll have to venture out a bit more before going back here. The breakfast menu is a lot of the same thing. I hate it when places don't have a diverse choice of breakfast meats. They up charge for chicken. And it was too dang bland. They got the order wrong when it came out. Even though they read it back correctly at the register. The waiters knew something was wrong because when I got up to leave 90% of my food was still on the table. The people were nice. The food just was not.

What a great find for breakfast and brunch! We placed our order with the friendly staff inside the restaurant before choosing one of the many inside- or outside- tables. The concept is very smart as a manageable number of basic ingrediants are combined to produce attractive, delicious dishes. I had the steak omlette. It came with a side of hash browns and was covered in a nice salsa verde. My son had the steak hash. We marveled at the similarities in the ingredients and the chef's ability to make delicious dishes.

Food was great & hot. We didn't have to wait long for our order. We went there for brunch. Our waitress was nice & attentive. We sat out by the patio area & listened to the birds chirping. I'm sad they no longer have the smoked salmon toast. But they have a good menu.

I live in the area, trying this place for the first time. Was super excited! The atmosphere was nice and homey. It is not a typical sit down and being waited on type of breakfast place. You order at the front counter and the server brings you the food. The regular coffee wasn't strong enough and the rim of the mug was dirty. I ordered an Americano instead. That was good. I ordered the big daddy omelette. The meat could have been cooked a little more, but that's probably my fault because I didn't ask for well done. They don't have wheat toast and I don't eat potatoes and there was nothing I could substitute for that, so all I really had was the omelette. I paid about $30 for my omelette and coffee. Sadly I won't be returning for another try.

The Forky Bowl

Delicious. So good you don't want to put your fork down. Everything was fresh, and so yummy. The Lil Fork is the perfect breakfast plate, the ham slice is perfect, makes me wish it was Thanksgiving & Christmas already. Potatoes are perfectly crispy on the outside. Genuinely no complaints. The Banana Foster Pancakes was super sweet & delicious. The bananas were warm & caramelized. The Forky Bowl was good, my husband liked it a lot! The tater tots were crispy and my husband liked the chives on top. The Big Daddy, I personally did not try, my mom and sister split it, they both liked it, but would personally recommend the Banana Foster Pancakes over it. Although they both liked the potatoes the Big Daddy came with. Overall, ambiance was really aesthetically cute. Food was great. And service was good too. Only "complaint" the flies really were after our food.. we ate inside too.

So everyone should find something they will like. As we walked in, we were greeted by Freddy. We told him it was our first time, and he politely went through the menu which is up on the wall. I love when you can watch the chefs make your food. The crepes are being made right up front. Takes skill to thin out the batter into a round circle without the batter running over the edge. The chef made it look effortless. After we placed our order. We got a number to bring to our table. After a short moment, Freddy brought our food over to us. My maple pecan waffle smelled like Texas heaven. And that scoop of gelato on top, was wonderful. I was inducted in the clean plate club this breakfast. The building is easy to find, situated next to Randolph Dental and across the street from Take 5 Oil Change. Parking is straightforward. The restaurant shares an outdoor lot with several neighboring businesses, and there was plenty of parking directly in front, including clearly marked handicapped spaces, plus an additional row across from the restaurant. Inside, the space is open, comfortable, and very clean. The interior seating is well maintained, and staff were consistently attentive to keeping the dining area tidy throughout the visit. The setup feels relaxed and inviting, and it is also nice to see that outdoor seating is available if you prefer fresh air. The food was excellent. I ordered the veggie omelette with added avocado and turkey, which was savory and well balanced. The hash browns were well seasoned with a good pepper profile, and the white chocolate latte stood out in particular. It did not have the artificial syrup aftertaste that is common at many places, which made it especially enjoyable. Service is what truly made the visit stand out. Jacqueline was friendly, attentive, and helpful from start to finish. She checked in at the right moments, answered questions without rushing, and kept everything running smoothly. As a thoughtful bonus, I was also given an extra pastry, which was a pleasant surprise and a great example of genuine hospitality. Small, but comfortable place that has a few tables inside and out. Sell coffee and baked goods but also has a nice little breakfast/brunch menu. The owners ran the place and really seemed "happy" to see us, took time to walk us through the menu, offer suggestions, etc. just extremely "comfortable" place to be from the moment we walked through the door. My wife and I always pick two entrees and share. We went with the breakfast sandwich and the biscuits and gravy and we were not disappointed. The house made brioche bun for the sandwich and the biscuits were out-of-this-world delicious. Based on that, I would wager that the other baked goods they had displayed (scones, cinnamon rolls, etc) would have been wonderful! (I'll be back soon to confirm this) Back to the food...the sandwich was very good- egg was perfectly "over hard" and high quality cheese and bacon. The maple-chipotle mayo absolutely made the bite. Next time I will ask for extra, maybe slathered on both halves of the bun. The flavor of that mayo was unlike anything I've tasted- thoroughly enjoyed it and it complimented the overall flavor of the sandwich so well. Delicious!!! As already mentioned the biscuits were outstanding...which is not something that I say lightly. While I will always try biscuits and gravy, I am usually disappointed and it is typically because of biscuits that are too dense and too dry. These were neither- they were incredible and I'm not sure what gave them the touch of "sweet" but that little touch took the flavor of the biscuit over the top for me. Finally, the gravy was perfect from the amount of sausage to the elegant "sage-iness" of the bite. With respect to the quantity of gravy, it is not uncommon for places to not give enough gravy. The ratio of gravy to biscuit must be difficult to master, well they've done it at Northern D'Lights!! Just incredible experience and we will be back, on the regular! Give this place a go...great place!

Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The avocado toast was simple...creamy avocado spread generously over hearty toast, seasoned perfectly and topped with a fresh egg whites that tied it all together. It was filling without being too heavy and tasted even better than it looked. The French toast was the real delight. The bread was thick, soft on the inside, and lightly crisp on the outside, with just the right amount of sweetness. The Texas French Toast. Oh. My. Goodness. Thick, golden, perfectly cooked slices topped with homemade whipped cream and fresh berries that tasted like they were picked that morning.
